We were looking for a 2in1 solution with a generous screen size, above average performance and well priced. This is the one.
With 8G RAM and an SSD drive the performance and battery life is excellent.

I am primarily a Mac user but was looking for a Windows PC for the Office Suite as Office for Mac doesn't have Project or Access. In addition, Office for Windows just works better on Windows vs Mac. I didn't want to pay the huge price tag, but at the same time didn't want to purchase a low budget laptop as you get what you pay for. This product satisfied all my needs: good price, speed, touch screen 2-in-1, i5, ssd, large screen. I recommend it.

The SSD Drive Is A Huge Plus...

This is an excellent laptop. The i5 processor w/8GB memory is peppy enough for multi-doc office software work and keeping many research / software admin browser tabs open at once without lag. The build quality, finish and feel is top notch. I've read reviews stating disappointment in the overall speed of this laptop. Here's my take...
The SSD drive definitely speeds things up. In particular, moving large chunks of data (i.e. big graphics files, sound and video files) and loading programs, buffering and saving big data files. What slows the processing speed down during my particular usage is having a very large number of graphics files open at once. For product photos and background designs of an e-store, I often have many images being edited at once and many files open in editor, plus too many (admittedly;-) browser windows open at same time. I expected this slowness though as I chose not to go with a unit with seperate dedicated graphics processor with its own memory. So I wouldn't pick this one if a primary use is above very light video editing or gaming. I'm just forced to keep fewer graphic files open at once and the speed is great.
This is the first laptop I've owned with an SSD drive as its main boot/application drive. It's a HUGE plus. Weird at first because you can't hear the drive mech accessing disk. So it's quiet and wonderfully speeds up so many tasks related to storage I/O. One example is archiving or moving a huge batch of email or graphics/image files is so much faster than on a mechanical drive.
I only gave 4 stars because as an all around machine, I feel like it could benefit from better graphics performance. Also, the screen is a nice full HD, but the color could be better. I use mine with a 40" 4K external monitor for business graphics and yes, the colors are sharper, more accurate and brighter, so I can see why its gotten jabs from people needing more accurate colors.
For students or limited graphic business use, I would give this laptop 5 solid stars. Win10 benefits greatly operating off the SSD storage!

It's a great product and I have bought this for second time for to of my bothers. It is very light to hold and easy to use especially for typing it really feels comfortable. The touch and 2in1 mode are helpful many times outdoor. Screen is modest and OK outdoors. For a typical college student it would last for around 4 hrs.
Service at Best buy was cool and I appreciate it in helping out choosing the right product. Overall a satisfactory product.

I bought this laptop on sale for under $700. It is a great deal imo for that price. Very fast and touch screen is very responsive. Only thing I'm a little disappointed in is the external speakers. The headphone jack audio its great but external speakers could be better. That is only reason I docked a star. Would still recommend highly.

This is my first laptop, I was nervous at first, but it's amazingly fast! I downloaded Minecraft AND Roblox, and I do all my homework and it's super fast. Great for a gamer or teens! The touch screen makes it awesome. I took off one star though, cause even tho it's great, it does overheat a lot. Also the battery gets used SUPER fast. Though i got used to the heating, and for the battery, keep the charger on.

At first I thought I may have over bought for my needs but I am extremely happy with the computer. The battery lasted all day at a conference, granted, I was not on the computer continually but it was on and used quite a lot. The computer is fast and responds easily to all demands. I am very happy with my choice. I also like the solid state memory, there is no noise when using the computer and less heat.

Great Computer but Why a 2-in-One?

I bought this computer because my old one died. I have an iPad so I didn't need a 2-In-One but most pc's are also tabletsthese days. I was also hesitant to buy a Dell as it's been hard to shake off the "cheap starter PC image" the company had in the 90's. I'm pleasantly surprised with this one if somewhat baffled.
Pros:
- Great keyboard and touchpad. I had to change some of the touchpad settings to my preference but everything feels outstanding.
- Build. This feels like a quality machine.
- Fantastic screen. This is my first time owning a full 1080p HD display on a laptop and it's better than I could have thought! This combined with the large screen might be a factor but the picture looks even more clear than my iPad Air 2.
- Windows 10 is great. I updated my last PC to the new Windows OS but if you missed out on the update, this is a great machine to run it.
- Faster log-in. This is a small issue for sure but having the camera recognize my face to log in gets me to what I want faster. I understand some might see this feature as a con but I love it.
Cons
- The speakers are terrible. the speakers are located on the bottom of the machine so sound reverbs off the surface more than actually giving you the sound. There is also a clear metallic sound with everything, likely from the sound reverbing off the aluminum casing. I'm no engineer but with so much empty surface area around the keyboard, putting the speakers there might have helped. Headphones sound great.
- It's heavy in tablet mode. I understand this comes with having a large screen but if you're looking to also use a computer as a tablet, I recommend you look for a smaller size. I never planned on using this much in "Tablet Mode" but definitely won't when I have my iPad which is so much lighter.
Summary: If you are just looking for a computer, then this would be solid way to go. You might find the size to be a little cumbersome but this had better tech specs and was cheaper than smaller similar models. I just wish that Dell had committed to building just a computer as I'm sure many of the design choices were to accommodate the tablet functionality which is unnecessary given the size.

I needed to update my 4-year-old ASUS laptop because it was too slow, non-responsive and not up to the task of simple browsing without encountering problems. I did my due diligence and researched the many laptops in my price range offered by Dell, HP, ASUS, Acer and Lenovo, focusing on all of the reviews -- pros and cons. The Dell Inspiron 2-1 seemed to have the most positive feedback of all and this model provided all of the bells and whistles I was seeking and more, including the 1080 resolution and outstanding sound. I am still getting used to all that it offers, including the responsive touch screen. I am old school and am using a wireless mouse to navigate, although you can do both which I do. The laptop is extremely fast with downloads, uploads, streaming etc. It is a little larger and heavier than my previous laptop but that's not a problem as it still fits comfortably in my travel bag and carry-on luggage. I use this primarily for leisure -- surfing the internet, checking emails, Facebook and playing online games -- although it would be more than sufficient for a much demanding workload. I purchased this during a special promotion at Best Buy for $599 -- a bargain in my opinion. And with the three-year extended warranty and tax it was a little over $800. As I said, I did several months of research before deciding on this Dell model and the effort was worth it. Yes, I would recommend this product for anyone looking for a reliable and responsive laptop that performs like a champ.

Love my new computer. Quiet and doesn't heat up like my other ones did. Slim, compact. Touch screen makes alternate browsing easy. Never bought a Dell before. Only drawback is that it is a little heavy as computers go today, (light compared to computers of a few years ago) but I don't intend to travel with it that often. I generally just take it to other rooms in the house. Great so far!

Bought it open box but looks just brand new. Priced at $550 is very reasonable. The screen looks great and the audio is fairly loud. Speed is responsive. I added another 8gb to bring it up to 16gb. Only complaint would be the fan tends to kick on every now and then even without heavy intensive use. Using it with a laptop cooler solves the issue but takes the thin/portable idea away.

This laptop is insanely easy to use. Being computer illiterate didn't stop me from being a pro computer operator in a matter of an hour or so. It is fast and can function with the keyboard or touch screen equally well. It is light weight and goes everywhere I choose to go. I only wish I would have looked into a laptop earlier with the features I got with the Dell - Inspiron 2-in-1.

I read a number of reviews before purchase. Decided on the Dell 2 in 1 with Solid State Drive. It is very fast and has adequate battery life. The lighted keyboard display is very good and the keyboard has a good feel when typing. The overall quality of the laptop is excellent. I wish it would have had the RH numbers on the keypad but was not a deal breaker..

Got this for my dad's birthday as an upgrade from an older Toshiba he had. SSD really makes the most difference in speed. the 2-in-1 design makes it convenient for him to watch his shows. Laptop is light for 15.6, well made and came with minimum of junk-ware for me to remove. Windows Hello works well, making it one less thing for my dad to deal with at logon.

I bought this laptop about 3 weeks ago and I really like it. I've so far only used it for internet browsing and taking some short videos, but it's been great for that. It starts and shuts down so fast; probably about 5 seconds for both. I also enjoy the start up feature that recognizes my face so I don't need to enter in a password unless I choose that option.
Other features I've enjoyed:
* There is plenty of room on the keyboard to rest my wrists so I'm not accidentally hitting keys
* The 2-in-1 feature is really nice. The hinges seem really sturdy when flipping back and forth.
* The light-up keyboard is cool.
* I can link my phone to my laptop so all the pictures on my phone are just on my laptop. No more having to use a USB cord to transfer things over.
Other notes:
* This particular laptop does not have a number pad, which would have been nice. It's no fault of the laptops though, I just didn't check before I bought it.
* The security system that Best Buy sent me with this laptop I ended up uninstalling because it would block webpages and disabled my camera. There is probably a way to customize it, but I found it easier to just get rid of it.
Other than that, 10/10 would buy this laptop again.

Only good things to say about this Dell laptop

Only good things to say about this Dell laptop. Although it takes awhile to get familiar with Windows 10 (coming from Windows 7), I love how much faster it is to start and stop Windows. On my old Dell laptop, the fan was going out and making noises, so I really appreciate the quietness and lightweight of this laptop.
Going from a laptop with 4 to 8 GB of memory is a big improvement (no more delays swapping out to disk). The overall look of this Dell is very stylish and doesn't look cheap like some laptops.
The only negative to mention about this purchase is a very frustrating experience getting Best Buy to price match a lower price advertised by Best Buy a few weeks later. It should have been simple and quick since it wasn't even a different company to price match, but Best Buy online support kept saying it would be another 2-3 days. Finally, after about a week and several phones calls to Best Buy, I got tired of their false promises of when the price match transaction would occur and gave up and drove to a Best Buy store to get the price match. Even then, Best Buy online support never contacted me regarding the price match that they said they were supposedly working on for a week.
