Best Value for a Decent Laptop

This is a great laptop. It does well with you average user, who runs windows to browses the web, office applications, and media consumption. I love the touch screen and the 2-in-1 design. Infact I have bought this same laptop at least a dozen times for work computers. Runs fast. My only complaint is that it does not have more usb ports. Just a note to most buyers: the i7 version of this laptop is almost identical to the i5. The processor clock speed and performance is almost identical. Don't pay $200 more for the i7 version alone. If you want to buy the i7, do it for the additional 4GB of memory upgrade. Truth is you still may not notice a difference.

    Good value upgrade

My previous laptop was a few years old and it was time for an upgrade. This has an all aluminum sleek chassis, the resolution of the screen is sharp, and best of all the start up time due to the SSD is super quick. I also like the backlit keyboard. This particular version of the model seems to be only at bestbuy and on sale was competitively priced. The 2 in 1 features are not as useful as it's a bit big to flip like that but once in a while is fine. They have a similar product in 13.3 inch size as well but I preferred the larger screen size, but one can opt for that if 2:1 capabilities are a higher priority. For all this laptop offers, it's certainly a good value play.

This is the best laptop I've owned yet. The solid state drive is definitely worth the extra money. I've used this daily for a year now and have no complaints, other than I just wish they could have added a 10-key to the keyboard...there's room for it. Excellent, stable, reliable computer.

Lightweight, reasonable price for portable work, and compatible with all softwares, I've used. I have two of this model, although this one only has 256 solid state, versus 512.

    Great Laptop Does the job!!

This was the first Laptop I have purchased since about 10+ years ago. It was time for a upgrade or should I say major upgrade. I was at first looking at the Mac Book Pros. But for the cost I felt this one would do just the right job for what it has. I was able to pick this one up on sale for $649. So far I love every bit of it. I'm not to much of a computer geek not that there is anything wrong with that but so far I'm able to do everything myself on it. Also has good memory and perfect screen size. Not to big or small. Very slim looking. Oh can't forget the 2 in 1 option. So if your looking for a good reliable Laptop this is the one for you.

Overall This Has Been A Great Computer

Bought this computer to replace two old ones we had and overall my wife and I have been very pleased with it. Takes some getting used to the new operating system, but I like that it is is more like a combination between a laptop and a tablet. My only dislike is that the mouse pad is way to sensitive and seems to jump all over the place, but the fact that it has a touch screen provides a great way to minimize the use of the mouse. It is much faster than our older computers and has an excellent picture. May not be the right computer for a super user with elaborate software, but for us fairly basic users it works great.

    Nice Upgraded Machine

Anyone who buys a laptop these days and doesn't upgrade to an SSD is doing themselves a disservice. If you're unable to perform this upgrade yourself or have a friend who can, you're in luck, this one already has one! It makes the computer incredibly zippy and makes every day tasks go by in a flash (pun intended). Many more mid range PC's like this are coming out, so it's only a matter of time before everything is SSD based. In the meantime, in the $600 ballpark you get a nice i5 CPU with a decent sized 256gb of solid state storage. Pretty sufficient for just about anyone so long as they don't have massive media libraries.

    Great Laptop

I was looking for a laptop for my son and I and bought the 15" 7579 when it was $550, what a deal! During and after Christmas time I bought the 13.3" Asus Q304, the 14" Lenovo 710 14, and this 15.6" Dell 7579. The Asus was on sale for $500 during Black Friday and was great except for the 6gb of ram and the slow 1tb hard drive. I did like the fact that it had a finger print reader for Windows Hello. For $600, I got the Lenovo 710 14" with 8GB ram and 256GB ssd. The reviews were right about the fan being loud and was always turning on even while just surfing the net. Also when typing, the keyboard would flex in the middle. I did like the 14" screen with small bezels but returned both the Asus and Lenovo and got the 15.6" Dell 7579 for $550. The Lenovo 710, Asus Q304 and the Dell 7579 have an aluminum build but the Dell felt solid. No flexing and no creaking like the Lenovo. The fan only goes on when doing demanding things like playing games. The specs were the same as the Lenovo having a fast 256gb hard drive and 8gb of ram and the built in infrared camera for Windows Hello makes the laptop feel high end. I also bought the 13.3" version, the Dell 7378 for $600 which has the exact same specs as the bigger 7579 but with a smaller screen. My son has the bigger 7579 which he uses for school work and I enjoy the smaller 7378 which I use in bed. The Dell feels much more high quality than both the Lenovo and the Asus. My son uses his 7579 for school work and to stream Xbox One games which is pretty cool. I use the 7378 for playing older title games on low settings due to the built in HD 620 integrated graphics. Having tried all three brands, the Dell came out the winner!

Great design, phenomenal laptop, very fast and extremely cool. This laptop has all the bearings of the best laptop available. Not only is it very fast with an SSD drive, it's a beautiful computer, very well-designed. The sound is pretty good, the screen is phenomenal and the touch screen works perfectly. Switching to tablet mode works every time and I haven't had any glitches for the past month and a half. I love this computer and I would highly recommend it to anyone.

I love my new Dell Inspiron laptop! Huge upgrade from my 2009 Inspiron. The picture is great, love how quiet it is and quick to start up. The keyboard feels great under my fingers! Only downsides are no number pad (which it's totally big enough to have so I don't know why they didn't put one on) and sometimes the touchpad is too sensitive and I click on things I don't mean to. But I'll probably learn the touch in time. Great choice for someone who wants a simple yet versatile laptop. And yes, it's worth the extra money for a SSD, it's completely quiet, no whirring!

This has been a great computer so far. I've owned it just over a month at this point. It was too good of a deal to pass up(Deal of the Day) and so I jumped on it. I like the larger screen and yet it didn't seem like it added tons of extra weight. I don't travel with it a lot, so that wasn't a huge factor for me. I was concerned about the seemingly excess space on either side of the keyboard, but I find that it provides a nice place to grip the computer when I'm going to move it off of my lap, etc. Happy with this computer so far! Good product!

So far best lap top purchased. I would give it 5 stars but the mouse are gets stuck once in a while which can be annoying. However, overall a good computer. The battery will last for days if you use it 2-3 hours a day.

First time with Dell and first time solid state drive after coming from a cheaper model HP. The drive is incredibly quiet, fast and smoother, and the screen is exceptional. Big difference is the touch pad, which is unobtrusive and actually does what it is supposed do, without interfering with my typing. Overall an incredible computer. Also has a great backlit keyboard. I loved the HP, and quality on both computers is comparable. That is just an older cheaper model and the step up to solid state is incredible.
