I cannot even begin to express my frustration with this computer. I purchased this computer thinking that the specs were impressive and could satisfy my needs, which were only simple word processing and searching the internet. Boy was I wrong. The computer could would take an inordinate amount of time to do anything, from starting up, to opening Word, to opening up Chrome, etc. Further, the internet connection was so slow on this computer. I have the fastest Internet available in my area. On my phone, which I just did as I'm typing this, I have a connection of 378.6 Mbps. However, on this computer, I never got over 100. Making matters worse is the non-stop ads that continuously pop up on your desktop because it is a Windows-based machine. I returned the computer within 5 days of owning it. It was that slow and horrible.

I just bought two of these computers for my children to have. I opened them both up and set them up at the same time. PC 1 works a little slower than I was expecting, especially for a brand new pc. PC 2 is extremely slow. After I finally got it set up, it was running at 100% memory. Long story short, I ran a memory scan on both systems. With no other programs running, PC 1 said I had 1.5 gigs of memory available. Odd since it is supposed to have a 4 Gig memory card. PC 2 says I have 512 MB of memory available. That is after closing all programs and making sure nothing is running in the back ground. I was debating just swapping out the memory, but the thought of doing that on a brand new PC is just absurd.

Slowest computer I have had since the 90s

This computer had not even finished setting itself up before it maxed out CPU usage and ground to a halt. Yes, two tabs is the max. This computer has a response time of about 15 seconds to a minute when you click on a link, on a basic application like settings, or even when you try to open the task manager. Having 2 or 3 windows open? Not a chance, it times out trying to just move the mouse. Not to mention Cortana uses 28 percent of the CPU on average. Needless to say, it’s on sale for a reason. Yes, I did the fixes recommended and the computer somehow seemed to get slower. Kindly, I pushed through and made it to a website for my university classes and nearly crashed the computer trying to load flash player. Don’t waste your hard earned money because it’s cheap.

      Lewis,

We're sorry that your computer is not performing the way that you hoped it would. We'd recommend removing some pre-installed programs that you do not plan to use. Here's a list of suggested programs to consider: https://dell.to/2JruiaG.

If you'd like to remove any programs in hopes of speeding up your computer, here are the steps: Uninstalling or removing software or applications that you do not use or do not need from your PC can help speed up your PC. Applications may include background processes, system services, context menu entries and other things that can slow down your PC.

Uninstall applications you no longer need using Programs and Features (previously called Add/Remove Programs). Unnecessary applications occupy space on your hard disk drive.

      1. Press the Windows logo key + R on the keyboard.
      2. In the Run dialog box, type appwiz.cpl and press the Enter key.
      3. In the list, select a program and click Uninstall.

I bought this computer with no sales assistance: no came to help me so I just picked it out based on price and name. How was I to know that this computer was about as slow as my old IBM 286. I kept thinking something was wrong with the set up. 2 hours to load Norton Security. Who would think that in 2019 anyone would make a computer this slow. I finally brought it back about a week later to Geek Squad to see what was wrong. Basically they told me there was nothing wrong but this model was never going to go faster. Thankfully, I was within the return period so I returned it and purchased something else. The computer is unusable.

The physical design of this all-in-one is great, and it practically sets itself up, but after that, it was all downhill. The processor is just not enough to run simple tasks. Opening a browser to download the single program I needed this computer to run was difficult. After downloading what I needed I realized that the processor was almost constantly at 100% and no tweak it adjustment to the system was going to help. This got returned in favor of another Dell with a stronger processor and it's like night and day. I wouldn't recommend this one even to someone who just used it for email and Facebook.

We new the specs weren't great, but good Lord we still expected it to be better than our current Dell desktop which is more than a decade old and gives us tons of issues these days. This thing is the slowest computer I have ever owned. With absolutely NOTHING else running, it took 20 seconds for the web browser to open and fully start. I just took it out of the box, booted it up, tried doing the most menial of tasks, and now I need to return it. I will say it again, DO NOT BUY THIS COMPUTER!

I purchased this box on sale as a cheap extra computer to do online tasks like gmail and watch streaming on occasion. After the setup and upgrades and doing what Dell recommended in other reviews complaining about speed I ended up with what amounts to a useless machine. Just navigating around gmail it took 20-30 seconds just to change tabs. Streaming any video on Youtube was impossible. Basically this machine is useless. I will be taking it back as soon as the factory reset is complete (still going after 6 hours)...even that is ridiculously slow.

I purchased this Dell to replace the Dell we bought in 2002. I was so excited and looking forward to all the exciting upgrades. I love the keyboard, it’s so smooth and comfortable. The mouse is ok but I like my old one more. As for the all-in-one computer it is so slow! I am so disappointed! It is slow playing videos, loading a page or website, printing anything! I don’t like the touch screen. It feels like such a waste of money! So unhappy!

      Shah110,

We're sorry to hear about the troubles that you had with your new Dell computer. While you may not have installed anything on your computer when you contacted Dell Support it may be possible that some programs that were installed on your program before you bought it were slowing down your computer. It's important with your next computer that you look through any pre-installed programs to make sure that you plan to use all of them and if not you can un-install them. If you are using Windows on your next computer you can always run the Windows Performance Troubleshooter by following these steps:

      1. Close all open windows.
      2. Press the Windows logo key + X key on the keyboard.
      3. Click Control Panel.
      4. Click System and Security.

Not much to say...after setting up this was so slow I returned it within an hour of opening for a different all-in-one. If you feel like buying something that runs like a turtle buy this computer. If not get something else

This computer is super slow and super irritating. You spend 80% of your time waiting for it to boot programs and once they are booted you’ll spend the other 20% waiting for the program to catch up.

      Hi Hoogle,

We're very sorry to hear that your computer is not performing as fast as you'd like it to. We'd recommend running the Windows Performance Troubleshooter on your computer to see if there are ways to speed up your computer's performance:

      1. Close all open windows.
      2. Press the Windows logo key + X key on the keyboard.
      3. Click Control Panel.
      4. Click System and Security.
      5. Under Security and Maintenance, select Troubleshoot common problems.
      6. Under System and Security, click Run maintenance tasks.
      7. Follow the on-screen instructions and prompts to complete the process.
      8. Restart the PC.
