This computer comes well packed and is easy to remove from the box. The high gloss finish on the entire computer has protective film. The only setup is connecting the keyboard toggle to a USB port and you are ready to go. Both the keyboard and mouse are wireless and your basis quality. You may want to upgrade the keyboard if you would like it tilted since it does not have any legs to raise up one side. The monitor itself looks elegant and is so thin you will be surprised it is an all-in-one computer. The monitor has two legs on either side as the stand. It provides plenty of support but make it a little tough to place on a small desk. You can tilt the screen forward and back to change your viewing angle but it cannot be raised or lowered. There are four USB ports on the back and you may need a USB switch if you connect a lot of devices via USB. There is an input and output HDMI port so you can easily connect a second monitor. You have the option to utilize as a touchscreen if you desire and the response of the screen works very well. Performance is better than I expected with the i3 processor and 8GB of RAM. The 256GB harddrive boots really fast and has plenty enough storage for basic use. As all all-in-one computers, you will be very limited in what components can be upgraded but it is designed to be relevant for years to come. It comes with the usual pre-loaded software such as 30 day a McAffee Security subscription. What really sets a Dell computer apart is the ease of upgrading the software and drivers. The Dell suite allows you to check for software, driver and BIOS updates with one click. I was able to upgrade several drivers and the BIOS in less than 10 minutes. You have the option to also scan for virus and malware if you choose to upgrade to one of Dell's premium service plans. If you are looking for a good quality, basic, easy to use computer right out of the box, this one will not disappoint at the price point for a computer and monitor.

Seems like a really nice desktop. I had a dell for years. Now that we do invoices and more for the business,I’m thinking about possibly upgrading to the i7 Dell.

Dell has done it again. In the world of Windows PCs the choice of manufacturer makes all the difference. Dell has established themselves as an industry leader by producing high quality, reliable machines and this Inspiron is no exception. Out of the box I was immediately struck by the sleek design and outward appearance. Dell has done a fantastic job with the aesthetics of their all-in-one design. Everything you need to get up and running is included in the box - computer, keyboard, mouse, even the batteries. Setup is incredibly easy and fast. Install the batteries in the mouse and keyboard, plug in the computer and power on. Installation is really quick as well. Cortana may not be the greatest “assistant” on the market, but I have to give props to how easy it makes the initial setup. Voice prompts walk you through everything, and you can even reply with your voice for most of the setup process. Connectivity between the PC and both Bluetooth and WiFi is seamless, fast, and reliable. The keyboard and mouse both automatically connected to the included USB dongle without intervention. WiFi connected within seconds of setup and has remained connected without fail. Part of my four star rating is due to the very basic mouse and keyboard build. They are not flimsy, but definitely not superior quality. Now I do understand this particular Inspiron is not their top tier product, however the accessories seem subpar for Dell. As mentioned, this is not Dell’s top tier machine, however the performance is actually better than expected for this level. Multitasking is not an issue, no lagging, transitions are smooth, downloads are fast. The touchscreen is calibrated precisely for accurate input and sensitivity. Audio is another reason for my four stars versus five. At lower levels the sounds is great, but approaching 50% you definitely begin to hear more of a tin sound and the clarity degrades. This won’t matter much for routine, general use, but for those times you may need louder audio - you will notice. There are plenty of inputs including HDMI, USB, ethernet, even an audio jack. Overall, I’m very pleased. This is a fantastic computer for family or general use. Your everyday tasks can be completed without issue. Even some light gaming can be accomplished. Their design is one of beauty, the performance is great, and the build quality is excellent. Beautiful screen quality, brightness, multi angle tilt. There is a lot to love and you really aren’t sacrificing much. I would absolutely recommend this Dell Inspiron.

1. Touchscreen Functionality: I never thought I'd want to use the touchscreen function on a computer but this has completely changed my mind on the matter.    Using photo editing software (even MS Paint!) is exponentially easier with the touchscreen.  The screen on this computer is both very sensitive and intuitive to use. 2. Speed: I do NOT use this machine for gaming.  I do, however, use it for my web-based business and have no complaints about the speed of responsiveness for my purposes. 3. Audio: I don't pretend to be an audiophile but I do love music and always have something playing in the background as I work.  Having said that, I didn't have any expectations at all for decent speakers.  I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the sound provided.  They don't compare to expensive brands, but they're pretty darned good for OEM. 4.  Setup: Setup was easy with Cortana's guidance.  I was pleasantly surprised at the level of customization available for the pre-loaded software.  5.  Keyboard/mouse: The computer comes with a wireless keyboard and mouse and includes the required batteries.  (Nice touch, Dell!)  The mouse is pretty standard except for the magnetic closure for the battery compartment.  The fact that it's magnetic means there aren't any little plastic tabs to break and the way the cover comes off makes the mouse easier to clean.  The mouse itself is neither exceptional nor disappointing.  But that magnetic closure tho! The keyboard is not as inspired.  It is not adjustable, meaning that if you aren't comfortable with the angle it sits at.... well... that's too bad, I guess.  I'll be replacing the keyboard with one that is more comfortable for me. 6.  Camera: The camera has reasonably good picture quality.  I appreciate that it retracts into the computer when not in use.  I was initially concerned that the location of the camera, and the fact that it's affixed to the computer, would mean that the angle would be a bit odd.  It seems that smarter folks than I had already taken that into account and the camera perfectly framed me when I tested it out.  Perfect for all those Zoom meetings.  Yay.  7. The one thing I truly don’t like is that the SD card slot is on the rear of the computer, making it rather inconvenient to access if you use SD cards to any great degree. Overall: I love that it's an all-in-one, making it a great fit for my small workspace.  This is an excellent machine for school or work.
