Customers commend the Inspiron 27" All-in-One's large screen size and ease of use. Many appreciate its strong performance and sleek design, along with the fast SSD storage. While some found the price high, the positive feedback on features like the touchscreen and graphics card outweighs the negative comments.

This is a great Dell All-In-One

I cannot say enough about the new Dell Inspiron 27” all in one desktop computer I recently received. It has exceeded my expectations in every way.
Let me explain why I am so impressed with it. Over the years I have shied away from all-in-one PCs because if one part of the PC has an issue you must send the whole thing in for service. For example, with my old set up, if the monitor went down, I would just replace the monitor. Or if the tower had an issue, I could send it out and replace it with a backup unit the main PC was fixed. But these concerns have pretty much evaporated with the reliability of laptops, which are essentially compact all-in- ones. One issue with my separate PC-monitor set up, was the space that was taken up on my desk and this is a big winner for me with the Dell All-in-One 27”. The whole PC takes up the same space as my old 27” monitor did and frees up space that was otherwise occupied by the PC.
I always liked the ability to expand the RAM or the hard drive on my previous PCs, however with the latest I7 processor from Intel, 16 gigs of RAM and a 1 Terabyte SSD drive, there is no need to expand.
The performance and speed are outstanding with more than enough RAM and CPU power to handle Multitasking. The NVIDIA GeForce MX450 graphics card renders videos and Games with smooth clarity.
There are enough USB ports for all of your peripherals with three USB 3.1 Type A Ports, one USB 3.2 Type A Port and one USB 3.2 Type C Port. It even has one HDMI input and one HDMI output. There is also a gigabit ethernet port for highspeed connections. There is also an audio output in case you prefer your own external speaks instead of the ones that are built in. For video conferences you have a built-in camera that pops up from the top of the screen and works great for Zoom.
The screen displays clean crisp images, and the videos and games render smooth without jitter.
This is one of the best desktops I have ever owned and highly recommend it to anyone who is in need of a space saving PC with outstanding performance and specs to back it up!

This purchase took hours of my life to do the research, compare to similar models, unpack the box and pack it again, be on the phone with best-buy for hours, as well as having to carry it to the store for a return. I would normally say it is on me, since I bought an open box, but whoever decided to write a Like New Condition (Geek Squad Certified)- is to blame. The computer came packaged exactly like new. After 2 days of use, turned out there are 2 issues: it turns on by itself after being Shut Down or put to Sleep, AND there is a small inner screen crack.

A good all-around computer for many uses.

This Dell 27 inch 7710 Inspiron all-in-one is a good all-around computer that many should find useful for a range of needs. It was packed well, is attractive and modern looking, and being all contained within the monitor body, doesn’t take up much desk space while still giving you a good screen size to work with. The 27 inch touch screen monitor has a resolution of 1080p and is bright and as clear as you’d expect for 1080p. At this price point I would really have liked to have seen a 2K monitor, but this one is still sharp enough for most tasks. The bezels (frame) is extremely thin around three sides, with a speaker bar on the bottom. I’m not one who really gets into touch screens, as the novelty wears off when you have to keep cleaning the finger smudges off of them, but should you have need for it, it’s there. It's unfortunately not an anti-glare screen, so you will see some reflections in certain lighting conditions.
Gut wise, the 7710 has a 12th generation i7 Processor (good), 16 gigs of RAM (good), a 1 terabyte fast SSD drive for storage (good good!), and a dedicated graphics NVIDIA GeForce MX550 card with 2 gigs of dedicated video memory, which helps speed things up for video editing, gaming, etc. In terms of power, this can not only handle all of your daily things like surfing, emailing, zoom calls and office apps, but you can also do quite a bit of photo and light to medium level video editing without taxing the machine. There is a pop-up web cam for video chats that can be pushed down into the computer body for privacy when not in use. It seems to be a standard variety and delivers “ok” video quality – I’ve seen better, but worse as well; in a well lit room, it’s fine for most casual and daily work uses but does fail a bit in darker conditions - if web cam quality is highly important to you, plan on investing in a separate cam. Speakers (along the bottom) are pretty clear and loud. I have no issues listening to music and videos with them with no obvious distortions.
A standard quality wireless keyboard and mouse come with the machine, which work well enough until you can update which I think many may want to do. Note, there is NO optical drive in this model (DVD/CD drive), so if you have disks for programs or movies/music you want to play, you’ll have to spring for an external USB optical drive. I’d prefer if they would still include these in these types of machines, but it does allow for a thinner computer body without one.
As far as ports go, you do have one USB-C type power port on the right side of the monitor making it easy to hook up an external device. The rest are on the back where you’ll find four more standard USB (non-C) ports, a wired ethernet port, two HDMI ports, a plug for external headphones/mic and a slot for a SD memory card, and of course, the power cable. I would gladly trade one of those USB standard ports for one more USB-C port, though! The Inspiron is Wifi-6 capable and I have no issues with connections or speed from it wirelessly. I’ve used Bluetooth headphones with no issues as well and was able to walk throughout my 1 level home without losing connection on them.
Overall I’m glad to use this model for my daily work and recreational uses. It’s speedy with no hiccups that I can find, so far using it for Word, a few video chats, and casual photo/video captures. If I’m going to nitpick, I’d say that for this price point, I’d like for it to have a slightly higher res screen (2K?), a higher quality web cam, and one more USB-C port at least, at this price point. But it’s still a really good machine that I’d recommend as a whole with no big regrets even as it is.

Excellent General All-In-One Touchscreen PC.

This 27” Dell Inspiron touch screen all-in-one computer is an excellent general and family use computer, which should do well for photo, layouts, and moderate gaming. It comes with everything to get started right away, including a built-in hideaway camera, and wireless keyboard with mouse. The keyboard is plastic and pretty mainstream, but types confidently and quietly. The mouse tracks well and can be adjusted all the way up to 1600DPI in the settings if needed. The monitor portion offers 1080p resolution @60hz, which isn’t ideal for gaming, but is sharp, bright and colorful, nonetheless. Being limited to 60hz is part of why I don’t find it an ideal gaming rig, but it really depends on what kind of gamer you are. For most people and moderate gaming, it should be fine. I had no issues running Xbox Game Pass and Steam. Hades was smooth and Elden Ring was playable, but it really depends on what you’re playing. For touchscreen gaming, you’re likely fine, considering that I think most touch screens run at 60hz anyway. Thankfully, the touchscreen is responsive and does a great job of picking up my actions without having to stab my finger at the screen. Outside of gaming, this is an excellent general use PC that effortlessly handles video and music streaming, photo editing, video conferencing, and of course, general office work and word processing. Soundwise, it plays reasonably loud and clear, and responds very well to Dolby Atmos spatial processing, but it’s also flat in presence. It’s severely lacking in the low-end and reminds me of the sound quality you generally find in flat screen TVs. It’s fine for dialogue, but I’d add some speakers if I used it more as a media machine.
Fit and finish wise, it’s super slim and elegantly designed with a lightweight mix of metal and plastic. It’s put together well and fits great on a slim surface, which is how I have it setup on a desk that’s only 12” deep. I love that it includes both an HDMI output AND input, in the event that you also want to use it as a 2nd monitor. I also appreciate the built-in SD card reader and 5 USB ports (4 USB-A + 1 USB-C) which makes expansion easy. I didn’t use the built-in camera much, but tried it out on a Zoom and Skype call and was impressed with how clear the image was in a low light environment.
Overall, this 27” Dell Inspiron All-In-One is a solid general use and office computer. The screen is sharp and bright, the touch screen is responsive, and it’s powerful enough for image editing, layouts, and moderate gaming. If you’re looking for a solid all-in-one computer that looks great, doesn’t take up much space, and won’t blow your budget, I highly suggest you give this one a look.

Unboxing the Dell 27” Inspiron all-in-one reveals a very nice-looking desktop computer that comes with a wireless mouse and keyboard. There is a USB wireless adapter for the keyboard and mouse that you will need to plug into the back of the system. The legs slipped right onto adjustable pegs on the back of the system. There is no height adjustment, but the legs do allow for the display to be tipped forward and backward. Looking at the ports there are ample USB 3 ports, but they are all located on the back. There is also a SD card reader, but it is also located on the back. The only port located on the side of the system is a USB-C port. This makes it a bit of a chore to plug in an external device or thumb drive. If you were hoping for a Blu-ray drive you will need to get an external drive because this system doesn’t have one. The camera is hidden in a popup on the top of the system, and I like that I can simply and easily hide the camera if I want. The touchscreen display is 27 inches and has a small bezel. Using the touchscreen causes some wiggling of the entire system, but it is usable. The screen is not matte and is very reflective. If you’re in a bright room or the display faces a window you will get a lot of reflections and it can get distracting.
Start it up and within seconds you’re at the login screen. There were a bunch of Dell and Windows updates to install, but the install process went relatively quick. Installation of my software was also fast and easy as was connecting to my network storage drives. Installing my printer software and setting up my wireless printer was quick and smooth. Both wired and wireless connections worked well, and I was able to get good speeds over wi-fi with my router. I had no issues running applications like Office, Acrobat DC, Lightroom and Photoshop. In fact, they all started up very fast and the system was able to handle many open files at once.
The display was bright, clear, and vibrant, but there was still that pesky issue with reflections. The displays brightness helps with this, but it’s still annoying. The system has an Nvidia graphics card and can handle gaming with lower quality settings. Just don’t expect to be able to play some of the new hardware intensive games at a respectable frame rate on high settings. I didn’t game for a long period of time so I can’t comment on heat dissipation over a long gaming session.
The speakers are located under the screen and face you as you sit in front of the system. They have good sound, and they handle music well. They don’t have much in the way of bass, but there is some and for integrated speakers they are quite nice.
The mouse felt good in the hand and the keyboard also worked well. A keyboard with a palm pad would have been nice, but the keyboard is small enough to easily fit in a drawer with the mouse if you have a desk with a keyboard drawer.
As I continued to use the computer it kept surprising me how fast and responsive it was. Everything I installed was completed in no time and application startup was snappy for everything I ran, even on the first run. While there are issues like the locations of the USB and SD card ports, the reflective screen, and lack of a Blu-Ray drive, the speed and usefulness of the system more than makes up for it.

My computer use profile tends to be an all-around type of usage. I use work provided emails, create and send presentations to and from the cloud, as well as some PC gaming when I can. I can say this machine is up to the task for all my computer needs.
As far as build quality, I really like the design and ergonomics of this machine. Almost everything feels like the perfect size. The screen is large enough to use while gaming a few feet away, and yet also not too big where it can fatigue my eyes while using for extended periods of time. The keyboard is not clunky and large, yet the keys are nice and spaced out. There's really nothing that I have to fight with when typing of playing my computer games. While I haven't physically opened it up to peek inside, I did take not of how it manages heat. By feel it generates a majority of heat towards the top rear of the display. The vents are located on top facing directly upwards to take advantage of the natural flow of warm air. But even during prolonged gaming sessions or streaming video, it doesn't get too warm or loud.
While the display isn't HDR or 4K I can enjoy streaming media or gaming on it just fine. But if resolution and refresh rates are important to you, then this probably is a mark against it.
The speakers on the other hand have some nice punch. It's a balanced profile that doesn't break up at higher volumes. Can easily hear and enjoy my music while in the next room. On par with most smart TV speakers.
I think the only little hiccup is that most of your ports are on the rear of the display, rather than on the side edges, the exception being one USB-C port on the lower right edge. As someone who practices digital photography, it would have been nice to have the SD reader or other types of ports in an easier to reach place.
I like that the camera is able to be slide down into the top of the display when not in use and can be popped up when needed. Just an extra layer of security for peace of mind. The camera does have a bit of a wider coverage area than most webcams I've used but not by much. It does an above average job in low light. It is able to pick up detail in shadows without any noticeable grain.
While this machine isn't going to be handling the most current, graphically intensive games on highest settings. I was still able to enjoy titles that made my old PS4 PRO lag and force close. I was able to have Civ 6 run at default settings real smooth. That game is always intensive with computer resources, with all its AI decisions and background tasks that happen. While I'm not a big FPS gamer nor do I do much video rendering and editing. It was able to handle all my Steam games without issue. Take that for what it is.
On top of working quite well for what I need a desktop to do, one thing that always slips my mind is that it's a touchscreen display. A great option for those who don't want to be bothered with tracing a mouse all over the screen or can select things faster with their fingers. It's responsive and can pick up presses in the smallest of hitboxes that present themselves. Interactive lessons are easy on this screen. And while I do appreciate the display being able to be turned to face upwards or down, I do think they missed a great opportunity to have it swivel left and right, if only to quickly present your screen to any other person if needed, but I think that's a bit nitpicky so I can't mark it down for that.
So, if you can look pass the lack of 4k HDR 120Hz display and the not so accessible ports then this might be the machine for you.

Display: 27-inch touchscreen display, which means you can interact with the computer using touch gestures.
Processor: Intel Core i7 processor. The specific model and generation of the i7 processor can affect the performance of the computer.
Memory: 16GB of RAM (Random Access Memory). RAM is essential for multitasking and running applications smoothly. More RAM generally means better performance when running multiple applications simultaneously.
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce MX550 graphics card. The MX550 is a mid-range dedicated graphics card, suitable for light to moderate gaming and graphic-intensive tasks. It provides better performance than integrated graphics.
Storage: 1TB SSD (Solid State Drive). SSDs are faster and more reliable than traditional HDDs (Hard Disk Drives). They provide faster boot times and application loading.
Color: The computer comes in a white color, which is purely an aesthetic choice.

The Dell Inspiron 27 all-in-one is a great computer. I have become a big fan of Dell products. I’ve never had an issue with them and this computer is no exception. The screen is 27 inches diagonally and it feels like you’re watching a tv while doing computer work. The colors are nice and bright. When watching movies, videos, or playing games, there is no lag between the picture and sound. The sound is ok. It sounds like it’s in a tunnel. There’s no bass to it. There are two small speakers at the bottom below the monitor on either side of the Dell logo. There are also two more speakers at the top of the monitor. If you want better sound, buy external speakers. The screen is also a touch screen which is convenient if you want to save space by not having a monitor or mouse. You can activate the mic and speak to type. I thought that feature was very practical and helpful. The computer comes with a wireless full size keyboard and mouse. There’s nothing special about it it’s their generic peripherals. The mode and keyboard come with batteries and the flash drive to connect to the computer. The ports on the computer are located on the back of the monitor at the bottom. There are 4 usb-A ports, 2 hdmi ports, Ethernet port, power plug, headphones plug, and a sd card slot. There is one usb-c port on the right side bottom corner of the monitor. The power button is located at the bottom of the right side of the monitor also. Setting up the computer took about 7 minutes and was very user friendly. Setting up a second screen was not as easy as it took me a few minutes to realize I have to actually use hdmi port one. You can’t use whichever hdmi port you want. The monitor feels study on the two base stands on either side of the monitor. Overall I would definitely buy this computer as it gets the job done and size of the monitor allows for a big picture for any media work.

Dell - Inspiron 27" Touch screen All-In-One - Intel Core i7 - 16GB Memory - NVIDIA GeForce MX550 - 1TB SSD
Everything about Dell’s desktop computer says I’ve prepared my workspace (and gaming center) for a productive couple of years of serious and not-so-serious activity. Besides being one of the most attractive computers from any non-fruit company, it is fully loaded with advanced storage (1TB SSD), memory (16GB DDR4) and functional features that won’t have me worrying about expansion for quite awhile. Even the Front Facing Camera is built in (and offers 1080p resolution) along with a microphone. This is a fast loading, immediately responsive, and very easy to setup and operate All-In-One (AIO) computer. And this screen is great to look at with its richly saturated colors and broad contrast. I’m going to forget to mention it, but this screen is touch-sensitive!
Dell’s All-in-One makes my desk look good. It makes me feel good.
SETUP: Experienced and advanced Intel-based PC users are unlikely to purchase an AIO (all-in-one) computer. This Dell 27” AIO, however, can fully satisfy an office station, a demanding student setup, a mid-level gamer or a photographer who can exploit the dedicated video processing enabled by the NVIDIA GeForce board for faster editing.
Dell has made setup not just easy but understandable. Considering they start off with a very good reliability history, Dell keeps end users out of trouble with the “Dell Update” software which ensures critical fixes, updates and drivers are always installed. Another Dell App serves as a personal guide and tutor for keeping you advised about unique computer features. So, for example, I didn’t need to guess what and how Dell’s CinemaColor, Sound, and Stream operate. Dell’s hand-holding App allows me to lock in adjustments after letting me sample them. It’s very nicely accomplished and leaves me feeling I can actually benefit from the features I paid for.
WHAT’S INCLUDED: The included keyboard and mouse are both wireless, battery powered. I can’t determine power efficiency yet, but the computer monitors power level. They both have a great, natural feel in my fat-fingered hands. I tend to prefer more sensitive keys, but I also haven’t gotten much time on them. We’ll see. The mouse is perfect.
The port count is generous. Two HDMI is ideal. Apparently one of them allows you to use this AIO computer’s monitor as a an accessory monitor. There’s an ethernet port (1 Gbps max).
1 USB 3.1 Gen 1 port with Power on/Wake-up support
2 USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports
1 USB 3.1 Gen 2 port with PowerShare
1 USB 3.2 Type-C Gen 2 port (on right edge of computer.
1 HDMI 1.4b port
1 HDMI-in 1.4b port (allows this monitor to be used as accessory for another computer -monitor mode switch.)
1 RJ45 Ethernet port
1 Audio or headphone
1 Power-adapter port
1 DC-In
Slots
1 SD-card slot
PERFORMANCE: Visual performance is stunning and completely in my control. For screen color settings, CinemaColor gives me instant control over video color balance, or warms up the image by filtering our eye-tiring blue colors. ensure photo-accurate color or saturates with the colors of animation. No matter my activity, I can quickly get to a setting that makes a difference, a difference that isn’t bizarre or not useful. This screen is also touch-sensitive! I always have the option to just reach over and touch control on-screen activities. Of course, the touch screen has far more meaning for artists and designers, and it’s here.
Dell’s App introduces end users to the performance enhancements of MaxxAudio as well as its spatial or 3D audio effects. You can even modify your own voice. The sound quality of the Dell is unmatched by anything else I’ve used without outboard sound augmentation. It sounds great.
Dell’s App also provides really useful guidance and measurements for all my wireless sources, ensuring I’m always getting fastest performance. Setting up printers, scanners, faxes or Bluetooth devices was easier than on any computer I’ve recently used.
SUMMARY: Dell has put together a desktop computer that makes a statement visually and with its performance. Those of us without measuring tools can only react to the feel, the look, and a bit of intuition about the efficiency of this Dell. Demanding usage by games, video editing programs and immense spreadsheets tell me more with each everyday use. With the Dell, there is a feeling that this All-In-One can tear through most video and photo manipulation programs. Games are even more demanding, and I do, rarely, witness very complex games slowing as the processing system tried to keep up with the requirements of really robust and detailed environments. I switched to less demanding settings. Again, it’s rare. This is a great computer for so many reasons. It’s easy to love and I’m enjoying showing it off. I’m recommending it.

This Dell Inspiron 27" touch screen All-in-One PC is an upgrade from a previous model I own. I've come to love the all-in-one compact form factor over separate pieces (main computer 'box' and monitor) due to the ease of use, the much smaller footprint and also the need for only one power outlet.
Out of the box, this newer version is a sleek, nicely designed model, with two quick attach feet that simply click into place (no tools needed), a power cord, mouse, keyboard and dongle. Plug in the dongle, insert the included batteries and you are up and running. Set up is a breeze, you are walked through all steps needed, you can migrate your One Drive information easily, your Google account (make sure you set up your Microsoft information first, as the Google information didn't activate until the Microsoft account was logged into - that was the only stumbling block I had, setting up my Gmail account on this computer). Once that was taken care of, everything worked as it should.
I was able to easily get set back up on my office's remote work desktop, simply logged in on a browser like usual and my full functionality resumed.
The mouse and keyboard to feel somewhat 'less substantial' than the previous version, specifically the mouse. It feels very hollow and lifeless, but that is a quick fix, using a separate mouse that I already had. The keyboard is suitable, but I'll probably be changing that out as well at some point.
The computer itself though, is very nice indeed, sturdy on the desktop, feels well built, well put together and has a great aesthetic overall. When plugging it in, I tried to cheat it as I had the previous computer's power cord all zip tied neatly around my desk. However, plugging in the older version's power supply to this computer, I was presented with a warning that the power adapter was not powerful enough for this new computer and I needed to use the new power adapter. That was great information, and nice that the computer displayed that warning for me on screen.
Once I replaced the power supply with the correct one provided, everything worked as it should. The new power supply actually has a white LED light in the end of the connector, showing you that you have power coming to the computer. Another nice touch but might be a little annoying at night - our computer set up is in the middle of a room, so you can see all around the desk - it's not up against a wall. A nice touch none-the-less.
And speaking of touch, the screen on this all-in-one machine is touch screen, and very responsive with it. It's great for navigating pages, scrolling, tapping through pictures etc. Testing it out, it is very sensitive, very accurate and very responsive. Choosing different product images while searching products on BestBuy.com, I tried to catch it out, tapping fast and furiously on images, not only was the screen responsive, but the refresh rate and speed of which the images changed was superb. No lag at all between touching and a new image loading! It was a great experience. You can also pinch to zoom with one hand giving you great flexibility over how you use the computer. Absolutely LOVE the touchscreen aspect of this computer.
However, the screen itself, while having a great resolution, and a dynamic color range which is really nice watching cinematic content on YouTube or other streaming services, is very glossy and reflective. It's almost distracting how glossy it is. You can almost see everything behind you, like a mirror which is a little distracting, and when on a webpage with a white background, I find myself moving around in the seat to see what's on screen. An amount of texture on the screen would alleviate that issue, although I don't know how that might impact its touch screen functionality.
On top of the computer is a pop out webcam. It's nice that you can open it up and hide it away when you don't want to be seen on that Teams or Zoom call! (I know you can turn it off in either of those apps, but the peace of mind of hiding the camera is all too welcome these days!).
Performance wise, it has kept up with all that I need it to on a day-to-day basis, working from home. I'm able to access all of my remote files, quickly and seamlessly, without lag, making me feel like I am in the office. I upgraded to the Window's 11 OS when I set up the PC, and so far, it's been intuitive to use as well on this machine. The NVIDIA GeForce MX550 graphics card provides a nice smooth video presentation when streaming, and also helps in-game graphics render smoothly without missing frames with high-speed movement. Really impressed with the I7 processor, the included 16GB RAM, meaning that there's plenty of power, and no real need to upgrade the memory on this machine any time soon either.
On the back of the computer, you'll find two HDMI ports (input and output), which allow you to use the computer as a monitor for a peripheral product, there are 4 USB-A ports, (and a USB-C port on the right-hand side), a DC Power port, an ethernet port and a headphone jack. There's also a memory card reader as well - all of these are on the back, apart from the USB-C port. These give this computer great versatility, not only as a computer, but as a charging option for your phone, for peripherals, such as external storage (the computer comes with a 1TB SSD), or to use as a separate monitor.
So far, I have very little to complain about at all, as this computer is doing everything I need it to, and more, with the nice touchscreen functionality, sleek design, small footprint and overall performance. My only gripe is how glossy the screen is. Not a huge issue, but something to be aware of.
I would recommend this computer to friends and family. It's great!

Good for everyday tasks

This is one of the top Inspirion AIO models for 2022.
We used several Inspirion models through the years. This computer is being used by one of our kids, finishing middle school.
The 27" screen is quite big. It does make a difference compared to the 24" model, although the resolution is the same.
Here are some highlights and some points to consider:
The CPU is the current, 12th gen. i7, which is one of the higher-end for laptops: Like other AIO computers, it uses mostly laptop components. This is plenty powerful for everyday tasks like browsing with several open tabs, office suite, email and light gaming.
It also comes with 16 GB DDR4 RAM that is more than enough for most tasks. The memory is expandable.
Storage: This model comes with a roomy 1TB SSD, which unless one is hoarding thousands of pictures and videos will be enough. The SSD is replaceable and the computer also has an internal bay for 3.5" disks, that is ready and empty.
Video: In addition to the standard Intel video, it has a discrete NVIDIA GeForce MX550 which according to Nvidia would be about twice as fast as the embedded Intel video, so in other words it's good for light gaming. It's not comparable to a dedicated gaming desktop but it's a step up from standard video.
Screen: This is a touchscreen 27", which is 1080p in resolution. Unlike other models, the screen is glass and is quite reflective. It gives out nice colors when watching videos but it can be cumbersome when it reflects too much ambient light, so this is something to consider. Also the screen is not HDR.
The keyboard and mouse that come in are wireless and require an USB adapter that will occupy one of the ports on the back. These are improved from previous models: The keyboard is more gray than the previous pure white, so it’s more forgiving with dust. The keyboard has a two-position adjustable leg and has an additional row of media/function keys that are new in this model, on top of the number section. The mouse's palm rest is positioned higher so it feels more ergonomic. It feels responsive and comfortable to use. The keyboard uses two AAA batteries and the mouse uses one AA. They come with Duracell batteries and it's not rechargeable. Based on previous experience should expect more than a year of use with the keyboard and less with the mouse.
WiFi: Uses the latest Intel hardware and supports the newest WiFi 6E standard (The E means that it supports 6Ghz routers in addition to 5 Ghz and 2.5 Ghz). Our home router does not support the newest 6 Ghz bands. The computer connected with no issues.
Webcam: The camera is capable of 1080p which is good considering many computers still only provide 720p cameras. It also supports Windows Hello which uses infrared face-scanning, similar to how newer smartphones work for a very quick auto login and other validations. I also like a lot that the camera and mic are hidden behind the screen and one has to pop it (It's spring-loaded) to use it. Once the camera is up, it can be tilted lower for better focus. This is also a new design.
Design: The new design for this year appears slimmer, with rounded edges on the sides. The front is all screen except for the belt line that is a gray plastic that also holds the speakers. The back is also a cream white, with a smooth surface.
The legs are a pair of metal triangles. It feels sturdy and are easy to put or remove. It allows for some tilting.
There is no option for VESA mounts, and removing the back cover requires certain effort, although very much doable.
Speakers: Since the big screen is very adept for watching videos, the speakers are loud and clear, although I noticed it resonated too much when putting it louder.
Connections - Video: It has an HDMI output which can be used to connect to either a TV or to another monitor, to extend the desktop. It also has an HDMI-In which can be used to watch any HDMI source like a video stick or video player and but most likely intended for a game console. The computer will try to auto-detect the input when turning on, and it has a button on the bottom panel next to the power button to switch the input.
Connections - USB: There are 4 USB-A connectors on the back. Three of these are USB 3.1 Gen 1 with Power-on support. Then there is one USB 3.1 Gen2 with PowerShare. What this means is that the 'Gen 1' are standard 5 Gbps ports. 'Gen 2' is a faster 10 Gbps port. The Wake-up/Power-on support means that the computer can turn on or wake up by moving the mouse or touching the keyboard (Any key). PowerShare means it also works as a charging port when the computer is off or sleeping.
Then there is a single USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 port on the left side. It does not support video out, so trying to connect an USB-C dock here will produce a warning on the screen and the video functions on the dock will not work.
Other ports: On the back there is a gigabit ethernet, a barrel type power connector, an audio-out 3.5mm port and an SD-card slot. I think the SD-card slot is hard to reach being in the back, but it's there. The power brick is quite large.
It comes with Windows 11 Home, which only took a few minutes to set up and then several more minutes going through the required Windows updates. Besides some Dell utilities and McAfee trial, which I was able to remove without much effort, doesn't come with much bloat. No unexpected 'utilities' and very clean install besides the trial antivirus.
Overall, I see improvements from last year's Inspirion, besides the faster processor: Better webcam and slimmer design, better keyboard/mouse, louder speakers.
Of concern, the case is harder to open for service. Previous models would open in seconds with minimal effort. Sometimes with no tools, but new models are not made for that. Also no longer supports VESA mounts.
Also keep in mind that although the screen is quite large, it's still 1080p with no HDR and is quite reflective.
One caveat that is hard to get over is that it offers no USB4 ports, which are now common on other computers.
Besides the points mentioned above, it's very good for everyday use. It responds very quickly from the moment it's turn on. The NVIDIA video makes a difference on light gaming.
