Bad Hinges, Warranty Not Honored
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The hinge broke while still under warranty (apparently a common problem with these). When I tried to get warranty service, the Dell website said the warranty had expired. It said it expired on a day only 10 months after purchase, even though it was a 12 month warranty. Their website was so bad that there was no way to contact anyone.

DO NOT BUY
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Since day 1 the battery has not lasted with a full charge more than 2-3 hours. It now lags, everytime I attempt to go on a website I get an error message or it continuously shows as if it is loading. In a matter of 1 hour my computer restarted itself 3x this morning. I turned my laptop on at 8:30am and it's barely going to be 10am.

Posted .Hello Diesel,
We appreciate you taking the time to leave us your review. We apologize for the issues you are experiencing with your Dell Inspiron 3511 laptop, because its battery life and performance are not as good as you would expect, and it is also restarting by itself. This is certainly not the experience we like to hear from our valued customers.
To help with a battery performance issue, we recommend changing the Power Plan:
1. On the notification area of the taskbar, right-click the Battery icon.
2. On the options list, click Power Options.
3. Select a power plan on the battery meter, such as Power Saver or Balanced. Windows 10 has a built-in 'Battery Saver' mode that can be activated to extend your system's battery life. The Battery Saver mode will monitor and limit background activity and other features such as push notifications. You do have the option to enable or disable this mode within settings or within advanced Battery Saver settings, you can customize the mode to best suit your needs.
a) Click on the Action Center icon in the taskbar and select the tile for Battery Saver.
b) If running Cortana then type Battery Saver into the search box and select from the results.
Within the Battery Saver settings page, you will be able to turn on and off the feature and customize the feature to best meet your needs.
c) Turn the Battery Saver On or Off.
d) Additional settings are available via the Battery use and Battery saver settings links.
e) Battery use shows further info on apps and their power usage.
f) Battery Saver Settings screen allows you to customize further Battery Saver features.

There are several ways to help improve the performance of your computer if it is running slower than you expected it to. We'd recommend the following steps to help improve your computer's overall performance and speed: 1. Restart your computer regularly.
2. Run the automated tools provided in the SupportAssist Tool.
3. Run a complete hardware diagnostic test.
4. Scan your computer for malware.
5. Restore your Dell computer using Windows System Restore.
6. Reinstall Microsoft Windows.
You can read the full steps associated with each of these recommendations here: https://dell.to/3n29QjE.
Below I have also provided a list of solutions for the freezing issue, along with a link to the full article, should you need further information. We also recommend making sure your BIOS is up to date on your PC. I have given you a link to the Drivers and Downloads page for your computer so you can check for and do applicable updates.
Resolutions
1. Run a Computer Diagnostic. To determine if your computer is experiencing a hardware problem, run the Dell Pre-boot System Assessment (PSA) Diagnostics. For information on how to run Diagnostics, and to determine the issue, refer to Dell Knowledge Base Article: http://dell.to/2iaiujA
2. Check Safe Mode for Symptoms. To boot into safe mode, please follow the instructions below:
a) Start the computer.
b) Tap 'F8' on the keyboard immediately and every one second until the Dell logo screen disappears. From there you will see the Windows Advanced Options Menu on the screen. (If the Windows Advanced Options Menu does not appear, restart the system and try again.)
c) Select Safe mode with Networking and press Enter.
d) Log on as the administrator or as a user with administrative access.
e) Open applications and test the computer in safe mode. If the symptoms exist in safe mode, please continue the troubleshooting steps in this article. If the symptoms do not exist in safe mode, the issue is likely related to a driver or software and you may wish to complete step 3 to see if you are able to resolve the lockups or freezing.
3. Check for Malware. Malware (Virus, Spyware, etc.) can definitely cause a Windows system to lock up or appear to hang. To check for malware on your system and to ensure that your computer is up to date on security software, visit Dell Knowledge Base Article: http://dell.to/2wWP1zI

Unreliable Wi-Fi board
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased an open box Greeksquad-certified one. ||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had this for less than a year. Power issues. Thing just won’t turn on. Sent it back to Dell to fix. Charged me money to do so. We did this 3 times and each time came back with same issue. Now I’m on the 4th time with this issue. Won’t be sending it back this time. Have to move on. Never will I purchase Dell products again. Good luck to those who purchase this. I got an expensive paperweight.

Great for basic tasks & gaming, very upgradable
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After buying this laptop, I am highly satisfied with the results. The computer runs really well with almost all tasks including videos, internet browsing, content creation (podcasting), and light gaming to an extent. I opened the laptop and found that I was able to install an additional piece of RAM and there is even a SATA hard drive slot for additional storage. If you plan to do medium gaming such as Forza Horizon 4 or Destiny 2 for example, the only way to increase the video memory on the integrated graphics card is to increase the RAM. After increasing the RAM, my dedicated and shared graphics memory went up (I installed 4GB to make a total of 12GB of RAM). The battery is decent, though they could make it last longer. Lastly, the processor speed is good for multitasking, but it could also be faster.

A Solid Performer with Impressive Touch Capabiliti
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently purchased the Dell Inspiron 3511 15.6" Touch Laptop, and after using it extensively for a few weeks, I am pleased to share my thoughts on this versatile device. This review will cover its design, performance, display, battery life, and overall user experience. Design: The Dell Inspiron 3511 features a sleek and elegant design with a black exterior that exudes a professional aura. The laptop feels sturdy and well-built, showcasing Dell's commitment to quality. The keyboard is comfortable to type on, and the touchpad is responsive and smooth. The addition of a touch display adds convenience, making navigation and interaction more intuitive. Performance: Powered by an Intel Core i5 processor and 8GB of memory, the Inspiron 3511 delivers commendable performance for everyday tasks. From web browsing to document editing and multimedia consumption, the laptop handles these activities with ease. Multitasking is smooth, and I haven't experienced any noticeable lag or slowdowns during my usage. Display: The 15.6-inch touch display on the Inspiron 3511 is a standout feature. It offers vibrant colors and sharp visuals, making movies, photos, and graphic-intensive applications look impressive. The touch functionality is responsive and accurate, providing a seamless experience when using touch-based applications or navigating through the Windows interface. Storage: With a 256GB solid-state drive (SSD), the Inspiron 3511 offers fast boot times and snappy performance. The SSD provides ample storage space for essential files and applications, but if you have a large media library, you might need external storage options. Nonetheless, the SSD contributes to quick file transfers and improved overall system responsiveness. Battery Life: The battery life of the Inspiron 3511 is decent, providing around 6-7 hours of moderate usage on a single charge. While it falls short of some competing models, it is sufficient for most daily tasks and allows for convenient portable use. However, for more demanding tasks or extended usage periods, it's advisable to keep the charger handy. User Experience: The Dell Inspiron 3511 is a pleasure to use overall. The laptop runs quietly and remains cool even during extended periods of use. The inclusion of Windows 10 ensures a familiar and user-friendly interface. The laptop comes with an array of ports, including USB Type-A, USB Type-C, HDMI, and an SD card reader, offering flexibility in connectivity options. Pros: Sturdy and sleek design Responsive touch display Solid performance for everyday tasks Fast SSD storage for quick boot times Comfortable keyboard and smooth touchpad Cons: Average battery life Limited storage capacity for media enthusiasts Conclusion: The Dell Inspiron 3511 is a reliable and capable laptop that strikes a balance between performance, design, and affordability. It excels in everyday computing tasks, and its touch capabilities add an extra layer of convenience. While the battery life could be improved, and storage might be limiting for heavy media users, the Inspiron 3511 remains a solid choice for individuals seeking a versatile and functional laptop.

Perfect for Grad School
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I absolutely love this product. I had a MacBook Pro that was about 12 years old. I wanted another one; however, I could not afford it at this time. Needless to say, I am very happy I got this one instead. I love the touchscreen, how lightweight it is, the size, and how easy it was to connect to my extra devices. I use a dell for work which was why I was already familiar with the brand. I think it will greatly come in handy as a current grad student as I enter my internship.

Worth the money, best value. Bought TWO
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is one the best laptop for a reasonable price. I got this for my freshmen (college) son recently and very happy with this. With 8 GB RAM and i5 processor there is plenty of power. And it comes with 250 GB SSD drive. You don't need much space than this. Even if you do, you are better off buying external hard drive. I got two of these ..one for my in-laws and one for my son. Both are working great. The touch screen is awesome and very good value for what you pay. I highly recommend this laptop

Few problems over time
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was made in 2021, I purchased in May 2022. I only used it for school work and to check my emails. The laptop would heat up relatively quickly making the bottom super hot and the fan would be super loud! This was frustrating. Then I also had problems where it would just randomly restart, the mouse on screen would disappear (not like i went off screen but legit was no longer there). LUCKILY it was touch screen so i could mess with settings to get the mouse to appear again. Also, it was TERRIBLE at holding a charge. I feel like i had it always on the charger. These problems happened multiple times… then 2024 comes around and my laptop decided to never turn on again. Not a faulty charger, battery or screen problems but the charging port… Way past return window & too many problems.
