Our dell inspiron 3650 died after 5 years of service so we were forced to quickly make this purchase. Pretty much the same specs as the 3650 but the 3880 upgrades with a 256 ssd, wifi, keyboard+mouse so we are very pleased. It's very quiet and fast.I5 and 12 gb makes for a pretty powerful desktop. My wife works from home so this is a work computer. Haven't had it for a full 2 weeks yet but she is very pleased.

easy to install, size is not that big. it's fast without errors. I think it's a good deal. I bought three of them for my business and all the users are really satisfied. It comes with mouse and keyboard. I surprised that the quality is really nice. I don't need to spend extra money for another keyboard and mouse. I strongly recommend this product. Perfect!

NO CD/DVD DRIVE on this MACHINE!

I realize the description states there is not a CD/DVD drive, but looking at the photo, it's a little confusing. Trying to get an optical drive with a matching bezel is impossible. I'm still giving it 4 stars because it is completely my fault that I made a snap decision and didn't pay attention. The photo is what it will look like if you add a CD/DVD drive after the fact. Switch from a Dell laptop to this and what a difference in speed! Can finally participate in Webex without lag or freezing issues. Loads Microsoft Word/Excel within seconds. Very happy for price.

The Dell Inspiron 3880 desktop computer is quiet, light weight, & does all basic tasks without extra bells & whistles. It doesn't have a CD/DVD recorder or player, but has ports for attaching an external one.

The Dell PC is very small and easier for the space allocation. Very quiet operation and good processing speed. One drawback is no CD drive included with the PC.

Having been a Dell computer user for years, I always expect to be satisfied with the performance and reliability. This time I was happily surprised at the speed and ease of set up at first time use. The extra usb ports were more than adequate for the items I needed to add. It would have been better if an internal dvd rw had been installed, but I understand that is how computers ars being configured now. overall, I am very satisfied with this new computer.

Great desktop for the office. I purchased this for my role as treasurer in our village and it's been great, particularly since there was junk there when I arrived. Good price, very reliable and fast. I bought a second for our clerk once we saw how good this worked. Just what we needed.

This little desktop provides all I need. I use this computer for work, streaming and shopping. It loads quickly for me and to be honest a lot better than the computer it was replacing which by all accounts should've been superior to this one. I have no complaints and have been very pleased with this purchase as at this time I have been using the computer for about 2 months. Only thing I would say I have a gripe about is the added protection for the Geek squad I got for this computer is limited to 3 years with no way of adding additional time. Otherwise this computer is doing great for my needs but I cannot say anything about it in regards to editing videos or gaming on it because I am not using it for that. It is a good little computer for what I need it for.

Very good value for the money, if you're doing only personal PC work, and don't need much storage. (It comes with a 256B SSD.) I took it back in for a 1TB additional hard-drive, as I run a small business as well. Also, if you have/need a DVD drive, you'll need an external.

Works great! Easy to set up. Good value! This new Dell - Inspiron meets all our needs. We replaced our older "Dell", that had performed very well, for many years, but it's time had come. I would highly recommend Dell computers.

I needed a new computer as I got the blue screen of death. I decided to go with a different brand as I usually go HP, this by far is a better computer and really has a lot of storage. I at first had a rough time trying to figure out how it turned on as the front blends so well, once I did figure it out, I was able to turn it on. The front of the computer is minimal which I like, I don't need an excessive amount of plugs in the front, I want them in the back-out of sight. It comes with 6 plus so you can plug as many items as you want. There is no CD drive, but that's ok because nowadays you can dl drivers via websites. It runs smoothly and quietly.

I don't mean this in a good way, really. I only recommend this if you don't use DVDs/Blu-Rays and are using it for VERY very basic things like internet or watching movies. It IS quick, pretty easily functional, has bluetooth, very reasonably quiet and easy to open up which you WILL need to do if you want to upgrade it... actually make that WHEN. It only has a very stingy 256GB which while granted is SSD ain't JACK anymore. It DOES have the option for 512GB SSD with 8GB RAM but 8GB of RAM is quickly becoming irrelevant too so it IS inevitable that you WILL have to upgrade this thing one way or another, probably sooner rather than later. Because of this and the fact that it's pretty limited with what you can use for graphics cards I CANNOT recommend it for gaming unless you play maybe 1-2 newer games and/or are going as retro as you can. Also, there is NO blu-ray/DVD so you'll likely have to go get an external drive for that as I opened it up and can't even pop out the slot where the ODD WOULD be (if it CAN be popped out it seems to be stuck there VERY well.) Also, the Dell website manual is misleading as one CAN upgrade this thing with more memory than just 512GB SSD. I will be fair that at LEAST Dell were kindly enough to leave some extra SATA cables in here! TL;DR this thing is FINE if you are using it as a basic media and/or work comp and don't mind getting busy with a screwdriver... otherwise you're better off either shelling out extra for something with more storage, general functionality and versatility or of course building your own.

This review is specific to the i5, 256B SSD, 12GB RAM option. I'm assuming the options higher than this would perform better. 1. This computer, with the above features, was the wrong choice for my needs as a heavy computer user. If you're using graphic design/video editing programs or doing any gaming (even older games) then it likely won't be a great choice for you either. I've had to buy an external hard drive already and it's only been a month. I'll probably need to make several more upgrades to keep using this computer long-term.   2. I wish I read the specs more carefully and paid attention to what it DOESN'T have - specifically a CD/DVD drive. It LOOKS like it has one in the photos, so I didn't think to check for it. I hope whoever designed this computer is not having a good time. I didn't want to deal with returning it (nearby options to replace it at the same price point were not ideal), so just I bought an external CD drive. Overall, it's not as much of a bargain as I had hoped due to having to make additional purchases for it. You'd be better off spending a little more money on a better one so you don't have to spend money buying things to make this one better.
