      Hello,

Thank you for taking a moment to share your review. We are sorry to hear that you've been experiencing issues with your system's thermals and battery runtime. Below are steps that can help with overheating.

Here are the recommended steps for troubleshooting overheating:
      1. Dell does not recommend placing portable systems directly on your lap. Due to reductions in the thickness of modern portable systems, heat transfer can be an issue.
      2. Using a portable system (Laptop) on a hard, flat, non-cloth surface will increase airflow and reduce heat from underneath and inside the system.
Using the portable system on a blanket, pillow, or other types of cloth will cover up the fan cause the computer to overheat and can cause permanent damage.
      3. It is recommended to use the portable system in a Room temperature of 0°C to 35°C (32°F to 95°F) with a Humidity level no greater than 90%.
      4. Use compressed air to clean the vents on a regular basis.
      5. Using a cooling pad can decrease heat and increase performance.
      6. If you want to know the temperature limitations for your system, go to the Dell Support Website, look up your system model then open the user guide under the manuals link.
      7. This article contains further details that can help with your overheating: http://dell.to/2uJ8AdG.

Lastly, we recommend using this link to check the battery health on Dell laptops - https://dell.to/3nEbRmb. It can assist with maximizing and troubleshooting any possible issues with the battery.

We recommend accessing the link and steps above to resolve your issues. If you come across any questions, issues, or concerns, please feel free to reach out to Dell Support directly at 1-800-264-9896.

This laptop has nothing been but bad from the first day. It came with a non restored operating system and as opened would crash immediately stating some BIOS errors. Wasted days researching how to restore as it would not read from a Dell created USB stick for reinstall . The dell assist is the worst part to deal with which does not let the laptop scan the hard drive. Finally after much tweaks was able to format the whole hard drive and reinstall windows was able to login for very first time. Without any new programs installed and using pre installed EDGE browser this thing will crash randomly with 2-3 pages open. Now remember that is purely random. The DELL assist software shows all drivers updated and shows issue with installed RAM . It automatically let me create a service ticket which is now more than 20 days with no resolution because of COVID backlogs. When it runs it runs great but suddenly crashes with no load at all. Have still not installed any programs yet and debating to keep or return completely.

      Hello DealsareGood,

Thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear that your Inspiron is not quite behaving as expected and apologize for the inconvenience. We recommend you run system diagnostics to determine if any errors may be causing system crashes. For a notebook, press and hold the function key and then press the power button. This starts the pre-boot testing and will launch ePSA.

Provided the issue is hardware related, it may be repaired/replaced if covered under its limited warranty. We recommend contacting Dell Support for further assistance in this case. They are available online, over the phone, or via email for your convenience,

      Best Regards,

      Hello TCforyou,

We are sorry to hear you are experiencing difficulties using your new Inspiron and apologize for the inconvenience.

We always recommend that the latest drivers and updates are installed using the 'Dell Update' application that came pre-installed with your PC. This may potentially resolve the fingerprint issues you are experiencing.

As for setting a default web browser, you can set your web browser of choice via the following directory.

      Start>Settings>Apps>Default apps>Web browser

You will now have the option to select any other web browser installed to be your default browser. Hope this helps!

      Best Regards,
      Anthony P. Dell

Had a really frustrating experience with this model! A regular software update resulted in a permanently corrupted BIOS within the first few weeks of purchasing, and I assumed that was a rare one-time event or a problem with that particular machine, but when I exchanged the laptop for a different machine of the same model the exact same thing happened again only two months later. Don't know what to attribute this struggle to other than sheer bad luck, but I wish I had somehow known that I was buying a laptop with the longevity of a beached whale in advance, so. It worked well when it worked, but for whatever reason I haven't been able to keep it from spontaneously dying and going to laptop purgatory longer than ten weeks even with fairly light use and no other apparent issues. Maybe it's a luddite witch's curse and I am the sole unfortunate victim, or maybe this laptop is just not worth the plastic it is cased in.

      BabaOMalley,

We're sorry that your computer's battery life is not lasting as long as you hoped it would. Here are some tips to help extend the life of your computer's battery:

      Change the Power Plan:

      1. On the notification area of the taskbar, right-click the Battery icon.
      2. On the options list, click Power Options.
      3. Select a power plan on the battery meter, such as Power Saver or Balanced. Windows 10 has a built in 'Battery Saver' mode that can be activated to extend your system's battery life. The Battery Saver mode will monitor and limit background activity and other features such as push notifications. You do have the option to enable or disable this mode within settings or within advanced Battery Saver settings, you can customize the mode to best suit your needs.

      a) Click on the Action Center icon in the taskbar and select the tile for Battery Saver.
      b) If running Cortana then type Battery Saver into the search box and select from the results.
Within the Battery Saver settings page, you will be able to turn on and off the feature and customize the feature to best meet your needs.
      c) Turn Battery Saver On or Off.
      d) Additional settings available via the Battery use and Battery saver settings links.
      e) Battery use shows further info on apps and their power usage.
      f) Battery Saver Settings screen allows you to customize further Battery Saver feature.

      Hello,

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback and review. We are extremely sorry to hear that your laptop had abruptly stopped functioning. We apologize for the battery and speaker issues you have encountered with your Inspiron. We understand how frustrating this can be and we would like to assist you as soon as possible. Below are steps that can be used to assist with your startup issue.

Here are the recommended steps for troubleshooting this issue:
      1. If the computer is displaying the Dell logo and does not move past that point, it has probably failed POST.
      2. If the power indicator lights up and it is amber or orange, this is usually an indicator that it has failed POST.
      3. If you see text on a black screen, the computer is currently performing the POST. If the computer stays in that condition and does not move past it, it has probably failed POST.
      4. If the video screen displayed anything at all during the startup process but is now black, this probably indicates that the computer failed POST.
      5. If the computer is beeping or if Caps/Num/Scroll Locks are flashing, note if there is a particular pattern in which it beeps or flashes.
      6. If the computer is not beeping and caps/num/scroll locks are not flashing, unplug all connections and remove all media communication devices (e.g. external monitors); reconnect one at a time and check if the computer functions.
      7. For a notebook, press and hold the Fn key and then press the power button. This starts the pre-boot testing and will launch ePSA. In case you have a Desktop at the Dell logo screen tap the F12 key to enter One Time Boot Menu and use the arrow keys to highlight Diagnostics and press enter.
      8. You can read the full article here - http://dell.to/2uj1Sby.

We recommend following the steps above to resolve your issue. If the issue continues, please contact Dell Support at your earliest convenience at 1-800-264-9896.

Purchased this laptop and within a day of using it shut down and started beeping advising me of a cooling fan issue. Checked for some updates as recommended by best buy and it seemed to go away. It happened once again a day before my return period was up and was denied my return because I forgot the charger. Had to work late the next day and was unable to return it. ( Has been more frequent now). I don't use it for much other than data logging a vehicle and emails. Reading up on the return policy, i saw I could've returned the laptop and just paid for a new charger. Now I'm stuck with an overheating laptop because of a best buy employee not knowing their return policies.

I ended up returning this laptop. Screen was a bit too small for me, and there would occasionally be a weird glitching with onscreen text when trying to type. I also didn't need another touchscreen device, and I found it low key ugly. Ended up investing in the new M1 macbook instead.

I purchased a Dell Inspiron 7306 2n1 on April 21, 2021 at Best Buy in Florence, SC. The device failed to boot on May 9th and I called Dell technical support. They have been responsive but have not fixed the problem. The machine randomly refuses to boot. Eventually after hours it boots up often with a message that it was not shut down properly. I have been on the phone many times. It is so undependable that it is like not having it. I wish I had not purchased it. I have had other, cheaper computers without a problem. After multiple calls and e-mails it is still not working as of June 14.

      Hello Willbike,

Thank you for your review and input. We apologize for the issues you have come across when trying to turn on your laptop and have provided steps below that may help with fixing your black screen. The details include how to perform a hard reset along with expelling and lingering power.

      1. Disconnect all external devices or peripherals (such as a printer, Bluetooth, or USB devices).
      2. Power off your laptop by pressing the Power button for about 10 to 20 seconds.
      3. Disconnect the AC adapter and remove the battery intact.
      4. Drain the remaining battery by holding onto the power button for approximately 60 seconds.
      5. Place the battery back in and plug in the charger.
      6. Press the Power button to turn on your laptop.

We'd also suggest checking to make sure that your software and drivers are up to date on Dell's Product Page - https://dell.to/3vpIXdg.

      Best regards,
      Wendy C.
