Love this laptop! I purchased because my other dell quit and I needed to complete my homework. Purchased because it had everything I needed and more. Price was perfect too. I am on the go alot so the compactness is just what I needed.

Good computer. Lightweight. Quiet. Mousepad not as smooth as it should be. Otherwise, it's great for watching movies. Sound is wide. Keyboard is good. Some people complaining about keyboard but it isn't that bad. Wait for a price reduction as I did. Microsoft operating system. Nothing to brag about. How long have they been in business now? Every year there are issues with their browser and Windows platform. Due to the business applications I use I need to remain with Windows operating system.

Very good overall. Starts up quickly, only takes about 15 seconds to go from off to windows login prompt and by the time I login it’s connected to WiFi, taskbar is fully populated, etc. Screen resolution is very nice, so is color quality. Touch screen is a nice feature. Keyboard markings can be difficult to see under some lighting conditions. Would be nice to have a simple way to easily turn off the touchpad since I use an external keyboard and mouse (previous Toshiba laptop had this).
I’d recommend this for anyone looking for a nice general use laptop-I’d buy it again.

We have ordered 5 of these for employees and they are a great value! They are fast and do not require much to setup. Even if you are not tech savvy, this is a good laptop to start with.

Almost an XPS

I bought this as a replacement for one our company laptops that was not worth repairing. I've typically gravitated to Dell and HP laptops choosing the upper two levels (XPS/Inspriron and Spectre/Edge). In the past the Dell Inspiron's tended to lag behind the others but his model is a real upgrade. The quality of construction (in my opinion) as good as the XPS line and the performance (for typical office uses) is close enough to not make a difference.
For the difference in price, the XPS is not really worth the extra $$$. If you are looking for a light weight, well built, general purpose laptop, I recommend that you take a good look at this model.

I have bought two of these in the past 6 weeks. A 13.6 and a 15.8. These things are smooth operators. The metal frame and the silky touchscreen make this computer a joy to use. I only give them 4 stars because the wi-fi has been disappointing on both machines. There is a glitch somewhere as both computers have had the exact same connectivity and driver issues with the wi-fi. Once you sort this out, they run just fine. Easy to find the steps on line.

This is a nice little computer for the on the go. It's light, it's powerful (for it's portability and size), and it's battery goes forever. Great for on the go productivity and watching videos.
For under $800 you get an i5, a zippy SSD, and a touchscreen (if that really matter to you lol).
My sister uses it for documentation, some light media, and takes it on long trips to watch a couple of movies (again, the battery lasts forever).

I was able to get this laptop when it was on sale for $699 or $799 and glad I did because I would honestly not pay full price for it. I was trying to decide if I wanted this or a Macbook for college and I decided on this but I should have went Mac. The screen hinge on this, looks like it could snap off like a toothpick any day but I am glad that I took out the 3 year geek squad coverage on it because I have a feeling that I will be using it in the future but I love the part that I can use this as a tablet also. And, that is the reason why I decided to get this laptop and not a Mac because of the tablet option. But if you decide to get this computer, make sure you get the extended warrantee and I did ask the person and there is not a deductible for claims when the screen gets shattered or the hinge snaps off in the future like some people has already mentioned. It has a lighted keyboard which is nice but the keyboard seems cheap to me, but like I said i am used to a MAC so going windows is a transition in itself but I would definitely recommend this laptop because it is super fast but like I mentioned earlier, definitely take out the geek squad coverage because its not IF you need it, it will be WHEN

This laptop worked great until one of the hinges started falling apart after 8 months. I wish I had done a little more research before purchasing it because I did not see the various reviews that mention this common problem. Also, there are countless results on Google regarding the issue with these hinges.
I went back to Best Buy and they would not look at the laptop or provide any support at all. I thought purchasing it in-store would come with some level of support within the warranty period but I was wrong. I could have ordered the computer from any online vendor and received the same level of service. It is something to keep in mind.
I had to call Dell directly to have the laptop repaired. I read that some people did not have it covered under warranty because it was considered normal wear and tear. Fortunately, my repair was taken care of under warranty.

Purchased just before the holiday on an open box deal - it was a great value. The specs are in a good sweet spot for an every-day user, and the flexibility of adding a stylus is a great add on. The primary user will be a 8 year old for online learning and the fingerprint reader will make signing in a lot easier for them. It's comparable in price to a chromebook with a touchscreen but you can run more than just chrome. Very happy with this purchase and would recommend it. My only complaint is that a small plastic trim piece under the monitor to the left popped off once, but was able to snap it back in place.

The touchscreen is nice. Was hoping to find something with a 1TB HD, This only has half that but with OneDrive and external drives available, I was willing to sacrifice this for a reliable brand like Dell. (There customer service is WAY better than HP for example).
The slim, lightweight design was also a selling point for me.
