This computer has performed extremely well since I bought it in 2021. Speed, storage, and connectivity are all 10 out of 10. It is small, compact, and lightweight so it is easy to carry between home and school. I don't use it much, but the full screen option is really nice if you're working on graphic projects or to use to watch streaming in full screen. I also love the fact that it is a touch screen. Signing documents on PDF is a breeze, and it's really nice to have that added feature. I am overall extremely happy with this purchase, this was such an upgrade from my old Dell computer that crapped out on me after a couple years. Highly recommend this computer for students and everyday use alike.

Snappy 2-in-1 Workhorse PC

The Dell Inspiron 14 7415 2-in-1 is a snappy device. For folks in the market for a solid computer for work or school, I highly recommend it. I should say upfront that I received this 2-in-1 for purposes of providing an honest and unbiased review. I agreed to review this laptop not knowing the detailed specs of the machine in advance. With no preconceived notions, I thought the laptop was impressive.
This machine is a workhorse for those working from home or those who want a solid day-to-day computer. I spent many years in academia, I would have loved a laptop like this for taking notes in class or working on papers during breaks. This is a good device for now with some potential to be upgraded and improved upon later.
Overview: The aluminum finish has a blue tint. It is subtle, but it still stands out in a good way. The device feels good to my hands. Fingerprints were at a minimum. Unlike some other laptop surfaces, no one will ever confuse this device with a fingerprint magnet. The laptop has a 720P webcam with a privacy toggle built-in. The display acts as a stand and provides a lift to the device so that airflow can help cool the machine. It also provides a bit of an ergonomic arch to the keyboard. Keyboard is responsive and snappy. The trackpad is large. The screen showed some light bleed on purely dark screens, but nothing too noticeable. All-in-all, I thought the IPS display looked sharp. Colors looked good. I never had any problems with viewing angles. Ryzen 5 5500U processor combined with the internal NVME SSD hard drive makes for a fast machine. The PC boots in a matter of seconds
The screen flips back to transform the laptop into a touch screen tablet. It all works great. In fact, I think this works better in tablet mode than some 2-in-1 PCs that are way more expensive.
While I am heaping the machine’s praises, I should point out that the battery performed great. On a full charge, battery estimator estimates you can get around nine hours. In my own experience, I averaged around 6. I played games like “Magic the Gathering: Arena”, streamed video, and spent hours online. I am used to laptops that do not last half as long. I was impressed.
There are two USB-A 5 Gbps ports, a HDMI port, a micro-SD port, a 3.5MM combo jack for headsets, and a USB-C port that doubles as a Display Port and power port. The device supports USB-C charging. It has no other way to charge. The USB-C charging seemed fast. The 65W power brick does a good job, but unless you have the device plugged into a docking station of some sort, you lose out on the USB-C connection. I wish there were another USB-C port. I would prefer a proprietary charger and an open USB-C port, but that is me. If you work from home and are required to be on a wired LAN, you will need a USB to LAN adapter. Because there are only two USB-A ports, a solid USB hub is a necessity with this computer if you plan to have more than two USB devices plugged in at a time.
The laptop comes with Bluetooth 5.0 and an 802.11ax wireless network adapter. Wi-Fi performance was good. No dropped connections or struggles during my testing. Range was solid for me. Still, with all the wireless devices in my place, I had a good connection.
Comfort: This is not the lightest laptop / 2-in-1 out there. It is not the smallest, either, but I found it hit the sweet spot in terms of size and portability. Now, I like that the monitor doubles as a riser to help provide airflow when the laptop is on a desk, but on my lap, it gets a bit uncomfortable having the monitor dig into my legs.
The computer comes with a minimal amount of bloatware or pre-installed software, but I found what does come installed to be a bit of a mixed bag. Dell has an app installed to connect your phone to the computer. I could not get the app to work with a Samsung Galaxy S10 or a Google Pixel 4. The laptop comes with a 25-day trial to McAfee. Personally, the McAfee software got in the way. Constant onscreen pop-ups and ads were annoying. I will just use Windows Defender, but that is me. Dell software that used the system’s webcam to track my head movements for purposes of positioning audio seemed pointless and just led to a system resources crash. Running software and driver updates from Windows Update worked great, but the Dell updating software that came with the machine screwed up the display driver’s software. I was forced to reinstall the software from AMD. I would recommend just using Windows Update and avoiding Dell’s auto-updates if my experience is indicative of what the experience will be like for others. Probably the only piece of software I liked was Dell Cinema which had a guide to add various streaming subscriptions in one place for easy viewing.
Upgradeability: The model I tested came with a 256GB NVME hard drive, 8 GB of DDR4 3200 RAM in dual channel, and the 5500U AMD processor. Out of the box, this is a solid device, but I could see that 256GB hard drive filling up fast. Thankfully, Dell has a service guide online to guide any future repairs or upgrades. The components appear to be easily accessible. Upgrading the hard drive and the RAM down the line would be a good way to keep the machine running fast in the future. For the time being, I would recommend storing photos and videos either on a cloud-based service or on a Micro SD card if you are worried about space.
Conclusion: I have been building computers for over 25 years. I always have people ask what type of computer I would recommend. That has always been a loaded and complicated question. For someone looking for a solid work or school laptop, I feel confident in recommending the Dell Inspiron 14 7415 2-in-1. It is not a gaming computer designed to play the latest and greatest AAA games. It might play some games if they are not too new or too graphically intensive. This machine was meant for the user who wants to be online, stream videos, telecommute, write papers, take notes in class, perform typical day-to-day operations. In my usage, the operating system was stable. I never had a system crash or blue screen.
Hard drive space and RAM will be at a premium with this model. There is no wired LAN connection and there are not many USB ports. As an office computer, a USB hub or a docking station will probably be a necessity. I also found the Dell software to be a bit underwhelming.
But those nitpicks aside, I really like this machine. It is a solid workhorse. The performance of the Ryzen 5500U processor and the battery life really impressed me. I love how it looks. I love the display. I love the keyboard and the touch pad. It is a very solid laptop 2-in-1 computer.
I have included some hardware spec screenshots taken from CPU-Z. I hope this information is helpful. I want to thank Best Buy and Dell for letting me test the Inspiron 14 7415 2-in-1.

The device itself is fine, I use it for school so don’t need anything special. It’s worked for what I’ve needed it. However, I’ve only had it for maybe 6 months and the screen completely separated from the dock on one side out of nowhere. The screen still works but I can’t imagine it will stay that way for long with the state of it…

I am a reviewer in this invitation-only program and was provided this product for the purpose of writing an honest, unbiased review.
I received the Dell Inspiron 14 7415 2-in-1 AMD Ryzen 5000 Series with AMD Radeon 2.10 GHz Graphics card. 2 USB Ports. 1 USB C Port. 1 HDMI Port. 1 Micro SD Card Slot 1 headphone jack. 1 integrated camera with slide cover to close if needed. I went through the setup and all the updates with Windows. That took about 2 to 3 hours total. Going through the setup was pretty straightforward. Follow the prompts and you are all set.
I then used SiSoftware to benchmark the PC prior to testing functionality. This took about 1 hour to run the benchmark. I was surprised, this Dell it did NOT run hot. Usually SISoftware pushes the computers that I have benchmarked to the point where it runs really hot. The benchmark came back showing that the PC met the specs as advertised. Benchmark for graphics card came back with AMD Radeon 1.8 GHZ with 512 MB DDR4. Max speed was at 1.8GHz. HDMI plug and play was easy.
I then tested transfer speeds of USB to local solid state HD. Speeds are quick. Also my wireless transfer speeds are really fast as well per wifi Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac) System settings showed that this is already setup with Intel(R) Wi-Fi 6 AX200 160MHz. So that makes this Wi-Fi 6 compatible. I have a mesh network in my house, but I am currently running on WiFi 5. I can't afford Wi-Fi 6 yet. Regardless, the wireless connection was flawless with pickup signal and transfers between rooms and different parts of my house.
I moved on to test per my day job. I used Revu Blubeam to test the graphics card and it kept up and did not crash. No issues. AMD Radeon did really well with the complex Bluebeam material.
USB C transfer speeds are FAST. I transferred 2 GB of 4K video in 10 secs.
I viewed 4K raw video on online streaming and made a movie. No problems either. Image was nice and crisp. No lag. Colors in 4k look very vivid. Also settings where easy to change. AMD Radeon did well here too.
Tablet mode is really nice. Both full tablet and tent mode is great.
Color (physical color of metallic gray - not talking about the screen) of the PC and the weight is really good. Well balanced. Metal feels nice. Not plasticy like other cheaper computers.
Video Calls were fine. No issues. Onboard camera was good. I like the privacy slide that comes built in. No sticky note needed to cover the camera.
Sound and mic was great. No complaints. Speakers were good. Came with DTX option with purchase/trial. Same with Dolby Atmos is optional with trial. I just stuck with the Windows Spatial use and it still sounded great.
Dell has always been the workforce of businesses. I currently have a Dell Latitude laptop computer with my current employer. They are just solid devices. Dell always provides great support and solid builds.
Dell also has onboard software that is proprietary to help with BIOS updates and driver updates and other mobile connectivity options , which is nice.
Only ding I could give this is the touch mouse kept on accidentally getting hit and my cursor moved to type things and it jumped all over the place which is typical for these types of mouse pad setups.
Battery life was pretty decent.
Well Done Dell. I would highly recommend this product for gaming or using for work with high graphics demand.

Light and capable 2-in-1 laptop

Verdict: This light-weight, portable, and capable laptop is ideal to bring to school, work, or while traveling. This laptop performs well, and it can also be used as a tablet with full touchscreen. It is a great option for students and professionals.
First impressions. This computer is sleek, thin, and light. It also features small bezels and a generous keyboard with lighted keys. The laptop also has a fingerprint reader for faster logon.
Hardware. The keyboard allows for comfortable and fairly quiet typing. The touchpad mouse works as expected. You can also do multi-finger motions on the touchpad, but these require some learning. The 14” screen is bright with a high-definition display. It can be completely folded back to be used as a tablet, or used half folded to watch movies. Since it is also a touchscreen, you can really use the screen as a tablet and navigate with just a finger. With a compatible digital pen, this computer can also be used as a writing pad. As expected, the camera and microphone work well. Of note, the webcam has a privacy cover so that you can make sure that no one can watch you through your webcam even if the webcam gets hacked.
Computer performance. The AMD Ryzen 5 processor, 256GB SSD, and 8GB of RAM provide a great user experience with snappy responses. You can also run quite a few programs at the same time with 8GB of RAM, which is now the standard for new computers. The SSD allows for VERY quick computer startups.
Things I love.
- Premium feel
- Lighted keys provide great convenience in low light
- Privacy cover for the webcam
- Nice keyboard that feels great
- Bright screen with high definition
- The solid-state drive allows for fast startup
- The 8GB of RAM makes everything run snappy
- Active pen compatibility
- The keyboard types quietly and the fan noise is not really noticeable
Things I don’t love.
- The fingerprint reader doesn’t always work; maybe it just takes a bit of time to get use to it
- One USB-C port is not enough. One or two more would have been great
Overall, this laptop provides everything I need to do work on the road, and to use as entertainment for movies or as a tablet. Because it is so light and quiet, I use it on my train commute to work, and also to take notes in meetings. I highly recommend it.

Dell Inspiron 14 7415 2-in-1 AMD
I've owned at least 15 laptops over the years and for the last 5 or 6 years I have been using a few different Surface Pros from Microsoft. I liked the portability of the Surface Pro but portability is a like and not necessarily a need. So this is my first experience with a 2-in-1 laptop.
The hardware specs are easy enough to research on the internet and I am in no means a hardware expert. But, I'll share some specs that I do know.
The CPU - AMD Ryzen 5 5500U with Radeon Graphics 2.10 GHz
I Believe it might be Equivalent to an Intel I-7
8gb Ram
256 SSD Drive -
2 USB Ports
1 USB-C Port Doubles for(POWER)
A Micro SD Port
An HDMI port
The display is a beauty. I am guessing a 13-14" that is a sheer delight to look at.
The keyboard is flat to the surface of the laptop and is backlit. It will take me a while to adjust from the Surface Pro keyboard.
A Fingerprint reader that doubles as a power button.
The software is the basics
Windows 10 Home -
Trials of MS Office and McAffee Security
I'm not even sure what is typical but it seems there is a minimum if any bloatware.
Overall, it is the display that set it apart for me. I got this to see if I could move away from future purchases of the Surface Pro and the display just might convince me of this. Obviously, this Dell is a little heavier than a Surface Pro but I think this Dell might become my first string Windows computer.
I am not sure how the price of this unit compares to other laptops but the price seemed reasonable to me for what you get.
Without a doubt, I think I might really like this Dell laptop and it might displace any notion of upgrading to a new Surface Pro

The Inspiron 7415 shows you don’t have to spend a lot to get a great consumption/work device. This is my second device with an AMD processor and I’ve been throughly impressed with both. Though I’m not doing anything power hungry with it, it has performed everything I’ve asked of it. Also I haven’t felt that the 8GB of RAM wasn’t enough either, if you do the machine supports up to 16GB. Sometimes specs on paper might seem important, but sometimes it’s how everything works together and that’s been my experience with AMD 2-in-1’s. I like that this machine has a Micro SD card instead of an SD card reader. I prefer this setup because the Micro SD card goes almost entirely into the machine unlike an SD card that sticks out pretty far. This is nice because if the 256GB hard drive isn’t enough, a Micro SD can easily and cheaply give you more storage. If you’re security minded (which you should be), it has a nice hardware privacy filter for the webcam. It also features the latest and greatest Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1.
Beside the specs, the machine feels well built and solid. It has an excellent track pad and keyboard, and when using it as a tablet the scrolling is buttery smooth. The body has a nice two tone finish that is the first I’ve seen on a laptop/2-in-1. The top is a nice blue and the bottom is a sandstone color, it really gives it a distinct look. If you want the versatility of a 2-in-1 but don’t want to break the bank, the Inspiron 7415 is an excellent option.

Versatile, Powerful Laptop For Work Or Home

It's been over 20 years since I had any experience with an AMD Processor Chip. I included one in the 'Mother-Board' of a computer I assembled and built as a Home-Desktop in the late 90's (Those were the 'Days'!). At the time 'cost' was a major factor, so I went with the less expensive processor, AMD, and was NOT disappointed. I mostly used my Desktop for 'word-processing', presentations, and photo storage and my AMD did a fantastic job. I could easily open several documents and work on them, simultaneously. YooHoo!
Both AMD an Intel started producing semi-conductor products approximately around 1968/69. So, they have a multitude of computer processor experience. I was anxious to run this AMD Ryzen™ 5000 Series Mobile Processor with Built-in AMD Radeon™ Graphics, and put them through their paces. I expected this laptop to multi-task for me on-the-job, out of town, and at home. WoW! With up to six-cores in this AMD Ryzen 5000 Series Mobile Processor it is amazing for job-productivity, document editing, and even entertainment. Outstanding for multitasking.
What's to LIKE about this Dell - Inspiron 7000 2-in-1 14.0" Touch-Screen Laptop - AMD Ryzen 5 - 8GB Memory - 256GB Solid State Drive?
* DESIGN & BUILD – Lightweight Aluminum casing only weighs three pounds and five ounces. I can easily carry this laptop in my backpack on any of my job-sites. I did not truly realize this casing was Blue until I had it outside on the job in bright sunlight. It is beautiful sort of a metallic blue/gray tint. It is not only super-portable, but super-powerful too, and less then an inch thick. Flip and Fold, 2 IN 1 design. Yet, delvers 2k HD resolution on a thin-beveled Touch Screen, which is almost borderless. The hinges are specially designed for advanced heat dissipation. They keep air flowing through the back of my machine to keep my laptop device always cool. Dell hinges have been proven (by me) to be the finest constructed for 2 in 1 and 3 in 1 laptop configurations. Have broken hinges on two expensive laptops I purchased earlier, which cost more to repair then the units are worth only after one year. YUK! Additionally, these well-designed hinges elevate my keyboard slightly for more comfortable typing. Did I mention the keys are also illuminated?
* VISUAL – The built-in AMD Radeon™ Graphics chipset with shared video memory provides solid image quality for Internet use, movies, basic photo editing, and Pen & Ink creations. The coloring is vivid and sharp.
* SOUND - MaxxAudio® Pro. The Built-in stereo speakers surprised me for their quality. I was expecting the usual 'cheesy' sounding, tinny speakers. So, I was pleasantly surprised. Although the sound was good playing music and videos, I am going to pair this unit with a separate BT speaker for even more enhanced listening pleasure.
* PRODUCTIVITY – This is an excellent laptop for work, home, and multitasking. The AMD Ryzen 5 Processor can handle everything I threw at it.
* BATTERY LIFE – I got approximately 9 hours of constant use on my construction sites and back in the motel. Conveniently, there are three charging modes from which to choose from. How cool is that?
* HARD SPECS – 8GB RAM Memory (Can be Upgraded); 256GB M.2 PCIe NVMe Solid State Drive (Can be Upgraded) Sold State Drie allows for faster start-ups; Wireless AX, WiFi 6 (Maybe time to Upgrade my Router?); Additional ports - USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A (x2), USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C (x1), HDMI 1.4, Micro SD Media Card Reader - 1 combo headphone / microphone jack. It also has a 'finger-print' reader for more secure 'sign-in';
* OTHER INCLUDED FEATURES – Privacy slide cover for webcam. WooHoo! Webcam has a feature to follow your face if desired. (I will not be using that feature). Front facing webcam/camera s 720p, which is more then enough for my needs. An MS Office Trial and McAfee 30 Day Trial is offered in the software.
I love the versatility of this laptop and its 'power'. Great for my work in construction Inspections and at home too. For all of its numerous features this unit is priced in the lower, mid-range by Dell. It is a bargain, and would make a great gift for that upcoming Grad. I highly recommend this Dell - Inspiron 7000 2-in-1 14.0" Touch-Screen Laptop. Dell has hit a Home Run with this laptop.

I bought this 2 in 1 dell Inspiron 7000 on sale for only 550$. I’ve had it for a day and I am loving it. The specs are impressive for the most part, it is plenty fast for daily use and some gaming is even do-able. My only complaint so far has been that the fan can get kinda loud but it is nothing too bad. The 2 in 1 mode is awesome. I would recommend upgraded the ram to at least 12gb though. I’ve attached some benchmarks and images below.

Crisp Picture Quality and Great Sound

I haven't been excited about a laptop in a while (it's a 2-in-1 with it's touchscreen)! The image quality and my favorite feature is the Cinema Sound. So, imagine you're wearing headphones in the plane, you turn your head to the right to glance over and the sound in the headphones moves with your head. The webcam has a feature where it follows your face.
The camera's photo quality is lackluster and probably could have been better but I am not stressing it because I use my phone for photos anyway.
The laptop's speakers are actually really good. I have a 21 inch laptop from another brand and Dell's speaker quality is pretty awesome for the size of laptop I have. The keyboard is backlit, the USB-C charger is compact/amazing, and when flipped into a touchscreen pad it is very responsive but not super delicate like others I have had in the past.
Overall, my favorite features are the Dell Cinema features for sound & picture, the virtual assistant, it's compact and slim design, the laptop-to-touch screen, crisp picture quality, and finally the BATTERY LIFE! I think I have used the laptop throughout the week and have not had to charge it once.

Great Work and School Laptop

Dell has created a very nice laptop for basic work, such as home office and student use. Laptops are not “one size fits all” so it is important to understand what you need before making a purchase.
This laptop is fast, lightweight and has some very nice features. It comes with 8 GB of memory, which is enough for web browsing, office software, working remotely and most things that people would need at home, school or work. The 256 GB Solid State drive also provides enough disk space for most users, especially since there are so many cloud storage options out there. Solid state drives are fast as well, making this very snappy.
Setup and configuration was very straight forward and took very little time. Once configured, it is always important to update Windows, so you will want to take the time to update. Dell will offer additional options so please look at what makes sense for you. The support assist is very nice, as it will provide system updates and other scanning options for your new laptop.
This computer boots up very fast and once it is up, it provides a fingerprint reader that works flawlessly. There is no lag and everything is seamless. The display is clear and bright and looks like a high quality display. 1920 x 1080 is the highest resolution and the recommended setting. The touch screen is precise and responsive as well.
The hinge is solid and works perfectly for converting your laptop to a tablet. Once folded over, the keyboard is disabled so you will not need to worry about accidental keys being pressed.
The keyboard is backlit and comfortable and also very responsive. They key clicks are perfect, soft and quiet. The mouse is also responsive and fairly large. The layout is fairly standard and easy to use.
I have yet to run the battery out after 5 days of light use. It charges fairly fast and seems to outlast other laptops that I own.
I would recommend this laptop to anyone for everyday use. Dell always puts out a quality product and this one performs very well.

Great computer for travel or college!

So far, I am impressed with this little computer. The size is perfect for travel, laying in bed, a small café table, but big enough to get the job done. I have not had a new laptop in quite some time, but this computer has some pep to it. The AMD Ryzen 5000 series processor is no slouch, and you can feel it. The graphics are sharp and clean, with a screen that displays colors vibrantly. The AMD Ryzen processor and AMD Radeon graphics card work perfectly in sync with one another and the experience is pleasant, quick, nimble, and visually stimulating.
Another thing I enjoy is the well-backlit keyboard, capable of 3 brightness settings. The long keys on each end make typing precise without accidentally hitting other keys. The charging port is USB-C which is super helpful, and the charging cable is a 65w. This model comes with 2 USB ports, an HDMI, and even a mini SD card slot, plenty of ports to get projects done, and the ability to display them and show off your creation.
OK, let's talk about the coolest part. This thing turns into a tablet! The screen can open almost a full 360 degrees and folds flat upon its own underside to sit perfectly flat. This feature was my favorite. I liked to prop the screen up and watch movies or flip it into tablet mode while lounging on the couch or in bed. This computer has the best of both worlds, computer and tablet with the power of a computer. The 10-finger touch, full HD WVA display adds to the immersive experience, it just feels so smooth. I wish I had gotten this machine sooner.
In all, I am pleased with this computer and can see it to be perfect for a college student, or someone who travels and needs to pack light. I would not exactly call this a gaming laptop, but I bet it could handle itself well. The one thing I did not like too much was that when the computer is flipped into tablet mode, the keyboard is exposed on the back. I do not like the idea of having the keyboard being set down on anything. Other than the exposed keyboard, this computer is great, and I will happily take it everywhere with me.
