This laptop is very lightweight, so it's easy to carry. I like the idea of the 2-in-1 feature, but when I fold the laptop back, the keyboard gets in the way. I don't know if there's a way to lock out the keyboard so that it doesn't interfere when using the laptop as more of a tablet. I don't really like the touchpad on this laptop. Sometimes, it feels overly sensitive (things are being clicked on when I don't mean to click on them) or it seems like I have to press a little too hard to click on things. The battery life is good. (I'm guessing the speed is probably more dependent on my internet connection.) There are lots of features on this laptop--and I am probably one of the least tech savvy people I know, so I can't really speak to them--but it would be nice if things were a little more intuitive or if there were better, clearer instructions on how to use them. This isn't a bad laptop, especially for the price.

      Hello MzAnn,

We want to thank you for taking the time to leave us your review. We apologize for the issues you have come across with tablet mode and the touchpad of your Inspiron 7415 2 in 1. To help with the tablet mode trouble, I have provided a link to an article to help with enabling and disabling tablet mode, along with instructions to change the settings. I have also included a link to the Setup and Specifications Guide for your system. As for the touchpad issue, some Notebooks and Tablets with Keyboards have added gesture features to the touchpad hardware and drivers. A few of these features are two or three-finger scrolling, pinch zoom, circle zoom, rotate, and swiping. These new features may be the reason for the erratic cursor movement since most are turned on by default. You can disable or modify the way the features work in the touchpad driver properties. Here are some tips to modify these settings:

How to enable or disable tablet mode: https://dell.to/3K3GIF2

      Setup and Specifications Guide: https://dell.to/3raPdFV

      1. In the Search box, type main.cpl.
      2. Touch or click main.cpl in the list of programs.
      3. Touch or click the Dell Touchpad tab.
      4. Touch or click on the picture of the touchpad.
      5. Touch or click Gestures (depending on your computer there may not be a Gestures option).
      6. Change the options as preferred.
      7. Touch or click Save.
      8. Touch or click the X in the upper-right corner to close the Dell Touchpad Utility.
      9. Touch or click OK on the Mouse Properties window.
      10. If the touchpad still does not work after following the preceding steps, refer to the Dell Knowledge Base article - http://dell.to/2iaiujA.

You can read the full article here - http://dell.to/2tqmS02.

The best laptop I've had. I like the fact that is so light weight and easy to transport. I used it for to a class I taught at a local college and it worked beautifully with the collecge's network. I just put in the access number I was given and I was ready to go when the class began, I've had a Dell desktop for several years and can speek well of the brand.

Simple laptop computer to fill in gaps when my other systems is on the "fritz". I run developer preview modes on my HTPC, and should something corrupt/crash, I can just jump on this one and carry on (usually fixing the broken HTPC). Also works good as a second PC for when the HTPC is being used by another person in my home. 8 gig of RAM seems small in modern PC times, but this PC doesn't suffer at all from RAM issues.

Dell Inspiron 14 2-1 Ryzen 5. Nice compact, touchscreen, biometric fingerprint reader, backlight keyboard. Only thing I would change is the harddrive wish it was bigger. No complaints with the functionality. Was an Intel fan but AMD is as good if not better. Happy with the purchase. Staff was helpful start to finish. Will return.

This was a gift for my mom. She was amazed that it could bend into a pad and its super fast. She is now using it for work and is thrilled that we choose this one for her. She also uses it in the car when she's a passenger. Its also a touch screen. Really good product at a great price!! Would definitely recommend.

Great little laptop for school. Only reason I am giving it four stars is due to a bug which causes the touchpad / mouse to become unusable unless you know how to uninstall a driver in device manager. btw, if anyone has come across this same issue and are looking for a fix, you will want to uninstall the "HID-compliant pen" driver in device manager. It will eventually reinstall itself and you'll have to uninstall it again - I just leave device manager open in the background. Other than that the display is fine for a 14", touch screen works good and it's a great value. I got mine open box and spent around $450, although I wouldn't pay more than $600 for a laptop with these specs, thankfully it seems to go on sale fairly often.
