2-in-1 Hot Garbage

Even during start up the track pad would occasionally cause the items on the start up page to zoom in and out. I tried to give it the benefit of the doubt and restarted the laptop a couple of times to no avail/fix. For some reason when you use the touch screen and go back to using the track pad, the track pad decides to become mental. It's frustrating when using one finger because the cursor jumps around, or doesn't respond or acts as if I'm commanding it using multiple finger gestures. It spazzes out constantly and is just horrible to work with. I'm definitely returning this item to Best Buy. I tried to look for possible solutions and read a comment somewhere to see if there was a protective film on top of the track pad that causes the sensitivity to go haywire. Didn't notice anything of that sort. Not sure what happened with Dell. Maybe I just got a bad unit, but this experience has turned me off. I do NOT want to deal with another laptop that gives me track pad issues.

1. Click the + sign next to System Configuration.
2. Click Keyboard Illumination.
3.* Disabled or Off - The keyboard illumination is off.
*Dim - The keyboard illumination is at half brightness.
*Bright - The keyboard illumination is at full brightness.
4. Click Apply, and then Exit.

No power after 2 months of use!

1. At the desktop, click the Search the web and Windows box and type ""problem reports"".
2. Select View all problem reports to view a list of errors that have occurred on your computer and possible solutions for them, such as updating drivers, flashing your system BIOS, or checking for updates to the software.
3. Under the Source column, look for Windows and under Summary, look for Shut down unexpectedly.
4. Right-click the line item and select Check for a solution.

Below are the steps required to calibrate your Touchscreen:
1. Restart the Computer and the Monitor
2. Go to Control Panel and select Tablet PC Settings.
3. Under Display tab, select Calibrate.
4. Choose Pen or Touch input.
5. Perform the point calibration that appears on the screen to correct the linearity problems.
6. Save the calibrated data.

We bought the laptop because we do many religious education classes online. We have had several instances where the computer has frozen, has shut down and lost the microphone which interrupted the classes. We would have to re-boot in the middle of class. We have had to revert back to using the old laptop, which we were replacing with the new one, in order to finish our class. The old laptop connected and stayed connected so we know it was not an internet connection problem. We called the geek squad but with no success of effectively solving the issue.

Thanks for your review and we're sorry that your new computer is not working as well as you hoped it would. There are a few troubleshooting steps that we would recommend to help with the freezes that you're experiencing:
1. Run a Computer Diagnostic. To determine if your computer is experiencing a hardware problem, run the Dell Preboot System Assessment (PSA) Diagnostics. For information on how to run Diagnostics, and to determine the issue, refer to Dell Knowledge Base Article: http://dell.to/2iaiujA.
2. Check Safe Mode for Symptoms. To boot into safe mode, please follow the instructions below:
a) Start the computer.
b) Tap 'F8' on the keyboard immediately and every one second until the Dell logo screen disappears. From there you will see the Windows Advanced Options Menu on the screen. (If the Windows Advanced Options Menu does not appear, restart the system and try again.)
c) Select Safe mode with Networking and press Enter.
d) Log on as the administrator or as a user with administrative access.
e) Open applications and test the computer in safe mode. If the symptoms exist in safe mode, please continue the troubleshooting steps in this article. If the symptoms do not exist in safe mode, the issue is likely related to a driver or software and you may wish to complete step 3 to see if you are able to resolve the lockups or freezing.
3. Check for Malware. Malware (Virus, Spyware, etc.) can definitely cause a Windows system to lock up or appear to hang.

SHOCKING REVIEW!

I LOVED it. Until it shocked me. It was a small shock and the laptop was not connected to a power source so it was stage but I definitely felt an electric charge on my hand where it was resting on the laptop. It happened on 3 separate occasions. In addition I found that the keys were hard to see unless the area was well lit. I assume it is because the keys are silver(I loved this about the laptop) and the backlight for the letters isnt bright enough. It made me sad to have to return it and keep looking.

don't buy if you use google

It is so annoying to not be able to retrieve or open google in a timely manner. They say they are aware of the problem and are trying to fix the issue but in the meantime it is frustrating.

Dell disappointment

Rep had to come out and replace part on 1 month old laptop - still doesn't work at 100%. Very disappointed with dell!
