Had all the requirements I was shopping for. I'm still adapting to the difference from my previous HP laptop - which it was practical for my needs also. The DELL unit seems to be a little more compact than my old laptop, but with the same 15.6" screen; ...that has to be a plus.

If only I discovered that before my 15-day return ran out. I told store sales person there were two features that would be most important, memory and back light for keys. No where near enough memory to replace my 1TB laptop, and the keys are silver letters on silver keys, backlight make no difference. I researched online if anything could be done about key lighting and I'm not alone in my frustration. I am disappointed that sales person did not or could not advise me on this before I made my purchase. It was a BIG investment to be not happy with purchase.

Thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear that your purchase isn't quite meeting your expectations. To help with the keyboard lighting issue we suggest disabling the backlit keyboard when you are in lit areas. Below I have provided the steps to disable the backlighting and the full article link.
Backlit keyboard options in BIOS
1. Click the + sign next to System Configuration.
2. Click Keyboard Illumination.
3.* Disabled or Off - The keyboard illumination is off.
*Dim - The keyboard illumination is at half brightness.
*Bright - The keyboard illumination is at full brightness.
4. Click Apply, and then Exit.

Good value and would recommend it for anyone starting back to school after a 10 year break. Trust me...everyone hates truck drivers being out on the road so I figured I give this laptop a try and haven't been disappointed

I knocked off a star because the setup was a nightmare, and I had to get on the phone with support more than once to get it going, perhaps because of changes with Windows 11. But support was helpful, and they got me up and running.

The fact that it is covered under the warranty package I have bought at Best Buy for my other computer and cover the costs to have the old one it wasn’t working checked out

I have had to restart many labs because of it closing all of my tabs when it shuts off. Sometimes the touchpad will just stop working and the mouse won't show on the screen. OH, and from day one fingerprint scanning didn't work. I was told by best buy technical support to check for updates, but the updates did not solve the problems. Not sure if I just got a glitchy one but it is very frustrating... not a cheap computer. Aside from these issues, when it is running well it is a good computer. Just disappointed with the number of problems I have and still do run into.

I have provided steps to using the Windows Performance Troubleshooter which should help resolve the performance issue. They have also provided a link to the full article that has more options if needed. We also suggest making sure all drivers and downloads are up to date on your PC. Dell has provided a link to the Drivers and Downloads page for your system so you can check for and do any applicable updates.
Windows performance Troubleshooter:
1. Close all open windows.
2. Press the Windows logo key + X key on the keyboard.
3. Click Control Panel.
4. Click System and Security.
5. Under Security and Maintenance, select Troubleshoot common problems.
6. Under System and Security, click Run maintenance tasks.
7. Follow the on-screen instructions and prompts to complete the process.
8. Restart the PC.
