This Dell-Inspiron 7000 has everything you need for working online, completing school assignments remotely, and watching movies! The large 1TB SSD+32GB storage provides ample room for the photo-bug in the family or the videographer. Start-up time for the computer is within 60 seconds or less in most cases and access to the apps is completed quickly with 16GB of Ram and an Intel Core i7. The pen is an added bonus with a a convenient storage tray on the laptop that keeps it fully charged and ready to go. This laptop is one that will last and out performs some of the best laptops available from competitors. The only down side is the lack of color options.

Good computer with a few weird quirks

So far I have been overall satisfied with my computer. It is very sturdy, with good hinges for folding into tablet mode. The pen works great, especially for drawing on powerpoints while teaching my online class. The keyboard feels great and is very big/comfortable ergonomically.
There are a few weird software issues I haven't been able to figure out. The biggest one is a weird bug with youtube where videos will have a weird shadow effect with reds split and slightly to the right of the rest of the image. It doesn't seem to be a driver issue because it's only the video, not the rest of the screen.

Amazing picture and utility. My only complaint is the battery life. With all the power and capabilities it has a hard time keeping charge while watching movies or playing games. But as I said, the picture and screen is flawless.

So far it's performed well, more than I wanted to spend. It's really a sleek gunmetal grey, not black. I think it's classy. My big Toshiba laptop (loved it til it wore out) was boring black plastic.
This new Dell has a backlit keyboard which helps when I have to work in very low light. I'm pretty old...school and guess numeric keypads are eventually going away but thankfully this one still has one! Don't know about the battery life, it doesn't move from it's stand/cradle yet. Think it would be a good one for someone's everyday tasks and playing with graphics, like me. Not hardcore gaming.
The display is gorgeous! I haven't given it any tough assignments yet, and haven't even tried the tablet mode. There will need to be an auxiliary monitor for light photo and video editing.

Great appearance, very good operating speed, unfortunately it seems it has tendency to crash from time to time, the laptop has been able to recover but I have had at least 4 instances where suddenly it stops and a legend of an error encountered makes it restart.
Hope it does not continue or I will have to return it

Excellent form factor, less so reliability

Device presents an excellent form factor:
2 in 1 form with 4K touchscreen
Pen with built-in holding bay and charger
Hardware camera shut-off
Integrated fingerprint reader on power button
Dedicated calculator button
However, the following issues make it a very hard recommendation especially at its price point:
Annoying display brightness adapt that cannot be turned off during battery-only mode
Intermittent trackpad outages
Relatively frequent bluescreens
Fortunately, I do not use this device as a daily driver but will most likely need to go through the warranty to get some of these issues resolved. Buy at your own risk (as I knowingly did, because Dell)

I purchased this laptop when it had 0 reviews only because I am a software developer and knew what it had to offer (its probably worth more than 2k). 1. The RAM is LDDRX4 and runs at around 4.2ghz compared to around 2.6ghz average you will receive from typical laptops with ddr4. In addition, it has 2 gpus that have deep link AI to manage power efficiency and it is a relief not dealing with Nvidia Optimus. For those having issues with booting, understand that this not only has Intel optane and needs raid enabled in the bios, but also needs the rst premium driver because it has a VMD controller in it. I don't know why because this is used for hot pluggable raid configs but whatever. You also need optane enabled via the UWP app. If you reinstall the OS, be wary that optane will not work or show up if the 32gb of space at the end of the drive is filled. It's best to leave the partitions that come with the laptop as they are. I'll not get into 5h3 details of anyone using bitlocker or virtualization based security as I doubt many here are using windows. 10 pro, enterprise, or workstation. Also, make sure your graphics drivers are correct. Either download the new Xe Max driver which will install for. Both the integrated gpu and dedicated gpu, or the new beta driver for both. Intel update assistant is your friend. The deep link AI management helps alot with thermals as well which in turn allows the cpu to run faster. Intel Turbo throttles cpus based on the heat and another laptop running the same processor and a powerful Nvidia gpu hurts when Nvidia Optimus has to use the integrated graphics processor to push the final output to the display causing more heat and work for your cpu. PCIe 4.0 provides superior bandwidth for your hard drive ram thunderbolt 4.0 ect as well. I'd also suggest using auto vsync in the Intel graphics command center global options. This limits the amount of frames your gpu renders to match the monitors refresh rate. There is no point in doing more work rendering frames that get dropped (more heat again = less cpu speed). The only cons I've had so far are some issues with performance counters throwing errors in event viewer but I am developing and running scripts and changing registry settings so it is most likely due to me tampering with stuff I shouldn't. I could go on about how awesome this laptop is and how much more it is worth but I think this is enough for now. If anyone is having issues, before you return this amazing product, leave me a comment and perhaps I can assist you.

I was in need of a laptop for college. One that had the gbs, speed and storage I needed to complete assignments without becoming laggy and freezing up because my assignments were killing the hard drive as I worked.
This laptop is flipping fantastic and helped get me a 4.0 this semester by having a laptop that could handle a lot of applications at once!!!
I really recommend this laptop for those that want to succeed and get things done!

It takes a few minutes to boot up when completely shut down. But once it's up it runs perfectly. I love that it's a laptop and can be used as a tablet as well. It's quite expensive, but so far so good.

So far so good. The touch pad seems to lag a little right after start up but smoothed out after a few minutes. I use the computer for editing photos so the included pen is very helpful. There seems to be plenty of memory to run everything that I need it to.

Overall good product! I really felt in love with this machine given its 32 GB ram and numeric keyboard, unfortunatelly the mousepad started malfunctioning and the screen glitching. I would buy this product again if I had the certainty it would work propperly!

When I initially bought this laptop, it would randomly turn off and not turn on again until the battery died. After updating the firmware and using Intel specific updates, the laptop has been working great!

Expensive paperweight

As the title says this is basically a glorified expensive paperweight. The day I bought this and set it up, it crashed three times, THREE TIMES. And all I was doing was setting up the computer. I really wanted to give it the benefit of the doubt but sadly I waited too long to end up returning it. Since July this laptop has probably crashed over 50 times. It has crashed on me in class, at work, and during rec times (games, streaming). And yes I understand this is not a gaming laptop BUT for low requirement games like Among Us or Minecraft, the computer should not be blowing hot air like it's about to die.
The only pro for this laptop is how crisp the screen is. But at the same time, the screen takes glares to a whole new level and drains the batteries so fast. The pen was a nice feature but the surface pro definitely has a better touch input/sensitivity and pressure points. If you are looking for a two in one I would just go look at the surface because the Inspiron is just trash.
I know dell is going to save face and try to respond with some crappy solution to the blue screen but please just give us a refund instead. The fan systems also need to be worked on, when using this in tablet mode with OneNote or ClipStudio Paint, my hand would get really hot. In tablet mode, there really is no where for the hot air to go.

I have been using this laptop for over 2 years now and it has served all my needs (work, school, entertainment). The camera quality is not the best so I connect a camera via USB for that 4k quality when using Zoom for remote work.

Computer was a purchase I made for me for my birthday. It was my second Dell laptop from Best Buy. I made this purchased based on the recommendation of a sales associate. I did not open it until my birthday. Unfortunately, this is what happened. The fingerprint scanner did not work. Even after I reinstalled the fingerprint drivers. Secondly, after I did the Dell support updates, the computer got in a restart loop . I took it back to Best Buy and had them replaced it with the same Dell model. The fingerprint scanner still does not work. However I'm going to keep the computer because the overall performance is spectacular. I can deal with the fingerprint scanner not working. Kudos and shout out to Best Buy and their associates for making the exchange very easy. I will not return it because I am very happy with the overall performance.

I got this laptop very recently. Its CPU is among the best CPUs of the market right now. CPU's score is around 10000 in the cpubenchmark.net, which is very high for personal and office usages. In addition, the combination of SSD and 32GB of optane disk, makes its start super fast. Last but not least, I did not get any blue page error in this one yet. This product for sure worth the price you are paying for it.

This laptop is fantastic. It's the 5th 7000 series 2-in-1 I've purchased in the last couple of years. I've tried buying a lesser model (i5) and have had to replace that too soon. I've also had to replace the hard drives in the 2 I bought that had 250GB and 512GB drives with 1 TB. My wife and kids record videos and do video editing. The smaller drives didn't leave them enough room to work with. Also, games take a lot of space. Even with the 1TB drives, they need to manage their storage using external drives.
I have one laptop for each of my 3 kids, my wife, and one at work. This laptop keeps up. For my kids, these laptops were purchased for school but, they use them more so for heavy gaming, and it's pushed to the limit. For just school, it's definitely overkill. It handles videos and editing well. The only issue we have with the gaming is that it sometimes lags when rendering the high-def graphics. I believe that this is because of the UHD (4K) screens. My kids turn down the graphic resolution on some games to get the performance up.
For word processing, spreadsheets, power points, web browsing, video streaming, etc., it has no hesitation.
I would recommend this laptop for anything but gaming. If you want a multi-purpose laptop, don't skimp on lesser models. This one will last.
