I have had for almost 2 years and I have issue after issue with this laptop. However it is pretty sweet when it does work properly. Issues are within the motherboard and touchpad. Going on my third motherboard within 2 years.

Bought this laptop earlier this week despite it not having any reviews yet. This thing is lightning fast. I use my computer for work (heavy excel usage), and I’ll never be able to go back to my old laptop. It’s only been a couple days, so I can’t comment on longevity, but I am very impressed with speed thus far. Touch screen and video camera also work well.

After researching many models, determined this one would be the best one to meet my needs. Love the design and built in stylus feature. However, I have had several issues with the computer crashing and running slow. Am returning this computer. Quite a disappointment. Should have known it would be a problem, because the 1st time I tried to purchase it when it was on sale and from the time I put it in my cart til the time I placed the order (within an hour), the price went up $200 and bestbuy.com would not honor the sales price. I waited til it went on sale again to order it, and got this lemon.

      Ccit,

We're sorry to hear about the performance issues that you're having with your new computer. There are a number of ways to help improve the performance of your computer if it is running slower than you expected it to. We'd recommend the following steps to help improve your computer's overall performance and speed:

      1. Restart your computer regularly.
      2. Run the automated tools provided in the SupportAssist Tool.
      3. Run a complete hardware diagnostic test.
      4. Scan your computer for malware.
      5. Restore your Dell computer using Windows System Restore.
      6. Reinstall Microsoft Windows.

This laptop is so much better than the rather old one my husband's been using for years -- much faster & easier to use. He is able to do so much more online than he used to & the machine has lots of storage for his photos. A very good buy.

Perfect Laptop. Very good processor I7. 1 TB SSD which is super fast. 4k monitor which blasts colors. A num pad which was required. Back lit keyboard. Grabs my wi-fi and flys. Long last batteries. I don't need it for gaming at all so the basic video is just fine. I really wish my desktop was this good. Very happy.

This laptop does everything I need it to do and the features are great memory is A teribyte and that is great for this size laptop and the price is perfect in my budget. The only concern I have is the open and close or flip over hinges or springs can wear out very fast and easily so be careful. Overall gear laptop.

So far extremely happy with this laptop. I had known when buying the laptop that the video card was not a powerhouse but it does exactly everything I need, and more with ease. I’ve read other reviews about issues with blue screens, shutting down had this laptop for about a month with none of these issues at all(from what I’ve read they have addressed these issues with updates). My only complaint would be battery life is not the best( but is expected with a 4k screen but still could be a bit better). I did get it when it was on sale as a open box so I’m not sure if I would’ve paid full price for it ( it’s a better deal at 1329 sale price), but all in all I’m extremely happy with this laptop.

Fast good computer. I love the pen being built into the laptop. I have had a few blue screen errors after the dell optimize program runs. I simply restart and everything is fine. The touch pad seems to be a little glitchy on mine. It will not always sense my fingers.

This laptop works well for what I had bought it for. The touch ID does not work most of the time so still end up entering the password, not a big deal. have not really used it on the road yet so I can't speak to battery life. Also usually work with a separate keyboard and mouse. When moving documents to my second display, they are huge (300%) until totally moved then go down to 100% size. This is a bit annoying and takes some time to get used to. It was supposed to be delivered in 3 days and took about 3 weeks. Somehow I had not gotten the insurance on the initial order, then because it was 3 weeks later I was told to bring it to the store so they could see it was not damaged in order to get the 3 year insurance. I understand their concern, but if it had an out of the box failure, I would just make a claim right a way and not pay for 3 years of insurance. I had purchased this one line rather than going to the store for a reason.

Good visuals, perfect for all my needs, love the fingerprint reader, really fast, and great usability technology. The laptop lives up to all its claims. I did have an issue the third day I received the laptop, it froze and I couldn't get it to shut down; after a while it shutdown on its own and rebooted. But after that one hiccup, smooth sailing.

    Beware Open Box Optane Pain

Be wary of open box purchase if you care about Optane. I thought I was getting a good deal on an open box but it just turned into a huge headache. Neither Dell nor Best Buy/Geek Squad would provide assistance in configuring the Optane drive properly without a service charge. There’s lots of conflicting and incomplete information out there on getting it set up once you have the OS installed. I put about 15-20 hours into researching and trying options before deciding to just return it. I noticed the Dell store didn’t mention the Optane drive on the device specs on their website, so the second I completed the return I went over to the display model and found absolutely no reference to Optane on the in-store info either. I know I had the drive because it showed up everywhere, as an uninitialized 32 gig drive, but not in the BIOS (which was set to AHCI and not RAID). I would have kept it a bit longer if I thought I’d be able to figure it out without much more trouble but like I mentioned earlier, the documentation available is not very clear on what to do in my situation. No Optane wasn’t a dealbreaker because I figured I could use the drive for something but it just bothered me that it was messed up from the date of purchase and neither the retailer nor manufacturer would help. BUT! I also found the cursor would hang/freeze for anywhere from 5-15 seconds randomly, not associated with any sort of excess system resource usage, so unless the Optane drive would have helped with that (which I couldn’t figure out how to configure and, while I’m not an expert or anything, I’m certainly no novice), I didn’t want to deal with that. I wound up getting a similar system (Vostro 5502 i7 1165G7 w/ 1x16gb 3200MHz and an open SO-DIMM slot, so I can upgrade to 32gb, and Windows Pro) from the Dell store with Cyber week discounts that brought it down to $889 pre-tax. Doesn’t have all the frills but during my “trial period” of the 15 7000 2n1, I realized I didn’t care about those quite as much and the UHD display is a battery hog. Anyway, I’m hoping I’m happy with my choice. Good luck to you all!

I’m between this and a latitude. I’d prefer more of a tablet, but this is a decent laptop. It comes with a stylus that charges easily at the top of the keyboard, the 2-in-1 design is nice. The other draw to this laptop is the numeric keypad. It is just somewhat bulkier and heavier than I prefer (as compared to a tablet), but a top contender.
