DO NOT BUY THIS LAPTOP! This is the second computer I got from Best Buy, the first one I got it on July 6 2021 ! and after couple days of usage, it went to a blue screen; I went to Best Buy, and they replaced on July 14 2021. Today August the 27th the computer stopped working. BLACK SCREEN won't even turn on!!! I went into the reviews and I found out that I wasn't the only one having issues with this computer. Best Buy DO NOT SELL THIS PLEASE. I love buying from you guys and I had never had an issue with a device purchased from you. THIS IS FRUSTRATING.

      Hello,

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback and response. We apologize for your experience with the initial product and have provided steps below that can assist with your black screen issues with your second laptop.

Here are the recommended steps for troubleshooting your laptop:
      1. If the computer is displaying the Dell logo and does not move past that point, it has probably failed POST.
      2. If the power indicator lights up and it is amber or orange, this is usually an indicator that it has failed POST.
      3. If you see text on a black screen, the computer is currently performing the POST. If the computer stays in that condition and does not move past it, it has probably failed POST.
      4. If the video screen displayed anything at all during the startup process but is now black, this probably indicates that the computer failed POST.
      5. If the computer is beeping or if Caps/Num/Scroll Locks are flashing, note if there is a particular pattern in which it beeps or flashes.
      6. If the computer is not beeping and caps/num/scroll locks are not flashing, unplug all connections and remove all media communication devices (e.g. external monitors); reconnect one at a time and check if the computer functions.
      7. For a notebook, press and hold the Fn key and then press the power button. This starts the pre-boot testing and will launch ePSA. In case you have a Desktop at the Dell logo screen tap the F12 key to enter One Time Boot Menu and use the arrow keys to highlight Diagnostics and press enter.
      8. You can read the full article here - http://dell.to/2uj1Sby.

We recommend following the steps above to resolve your black screen issue. If your laptop still has issues, we invite you to contact Dell Support directly at 1-800-264-9896.

      Best,
      Wendy C.

I received my first laptop and during the start up process the screen shut down and would not turn back on. I had to go through the hassle of returning it and waiting for a new one. I received the new one last night and tried setting it up. Within 30 seconds the laptop "ran into a problem and needs to restart" This is crazy. When I called Dell about the first laptop they told me they have been getting complaints about that. So now what return and wait again?

      Lynn,

Thanks for your review and we're sorry to hear about the setup of your new computer. There is a checkbox in Power Manager that we'd recommend that you uncheck that would allow your computer to shut down during sleep mode in order to save power.

If you are having issues setting up your new computer we'd recommend using Dell's Support Assist App to help ensure that you have all of the most up to date drivers and software.

Very dissapoited with Dell :((. I got it from new and it did not worked because was not recognizing the charger. I got another one and after 10 months same issue again saying that it is not recognizing tge charger. If you cannot trust a laptop to last not even one year, what expectation should i have going further?? Just to mention that i barely used couple of times and just for basic things… very disapointed !!

Bought strictly for home use: streaming videos and radio stations, email, reading news online. Pros: Crisp, clear picture. Lighted keyboard, with a slight "clicky" touch. Very thin, lightweight. Quick. Love the touch-screen. Love SupportAssist. Cons: Dells are famous for running hot. Ours are always elevated on a simple home made frame. Even with Touchpad on least sensitive setting, the cursor may jump around while you're typing, for which I've tried all the "cures," and none really work. Will not use a mouse as it defeats the purpose for which I bought the laptop: simplification and ease of portability. The built in speaker is so-so. We use an external speaker while watching movies or listening to music, No media tray for CDs, DVDs. The silver keyboard can be distracting while watching video, but can be folded out of the way. And for this price, it would be nice if it came with a full Microsoft Office suite. All in all: If it holds up better than our last 17" Inspiron (no touch-screen) I'll be happy. We have several good protections installed, and do our due diligence with CCleaner and SupportAssist. A month or so into this journey, so far, so good.

I recently purchased the Dell Inspiron 7000 laptop, and I must say, it has exceeded all my expectations. This laptop deserves every bit of its 5-star rating. From its powerful performance to its sleek design, the Dell Inspiron 7000 stands out as a remarkable device. First and foremost, the performance of this laptop is exceptional. Equipped with a high-performing Intel Core processor, the laptop effortlessly handles my demanding tasks, be it heavy multitasking or resource-intensive applications. Whether I'm working on complex spreadsheets, editing videos, or running graphic-intensive software, the Inspiron 7000 never fails to deliver a seamless experience. The display quality is absolutely stunning. The 15.6-inch Full HD display provides vibrant colors and sharp details, making movies and images come to life. The narrow bezels enhance the overall viewing experience and give the laptop a modern and sophisticated look. The build quality is top-notch, with a sleek and premium design that is both stylish and durable. The aluminum chassis adds a touch of elegance, and the laptop feels solid and well-built. The backlit keyboard is comfortable to type on, with responsive keys that provide a satisfying typing experience, even during extended use. In terms of connectivity, the Dell Inspiron 7000 offers a wide range of ports, including USB-C, HDMI, and USB 3.0, making it convenient to connect various peripherals and external devices. The battery life is impressive as well, providing me with several hours of usage on a single charge, allowing me to work or enjoy entertainment on the go without worrying about running out of power. Another standout feature is the audio quality. The stereo speakers deliver clear and immersive sound, whether I'm watching movies, listening to music, or participating in video conferences. The audio output is rich and well-balanced, adding an extra layer of enjoyment to my multimedia experience. Furthermore, the laptop runs smoothly and efficiently, thanks to the pre-installed operating system and Dell's optimization. The user interface is intuitive and easy to navigate, and I haven't experienced any significant lag or performance issues during my time with this laptop. Overall, the Dell Inspiron 7000 is a fantastic laptop that ticks all the right boxes. Its powerful performance, stunning display, sleek design, and excellent audio quality make it a worthy investment for both professionals and multimedia enthusiasts alike. I highly recommend this laptop to anyone in need of a reliable and high-performing device that can handle any task with ease.

Overall it is a good laptop but only after way to much manual intervention to fix driver issues that greatly hampered performance. After fighting with it for a few days and installing what seemed an endless series of windows and system updates it finally settled down and is running well. I had a lot of problems with the sound crackling or cutting out and excessive cpu utilization. I had to manually fix settings in the registry, uninstall and reinstall some components and other tweaks to get it working correctly. Ok after all the pain to get it running correctly, I updated the RAM to 32GB, bought directly through Dell and it is running great. The app launch times, overall performance, and screen are the biggest wins for this laptop. It really just flys in most tasks from compilation to Excel. Again the large 17inch 4k display makes up for the other issues. Battery life has been good. The keyboard is good and I like having the numeric keypad. The track pad is pretty bad like most windows laptops and I really dislike it to the point I plug in an external mouse most of the time. Overall a good machine if you can fight through the setup woes.

Not only is it light, but it is equipped with an 11th generation Core processor for high processing performance, and it is equipped with a 53Wh battery that has a long battery life. In addition, the color gamut is wide, so it can be used for light image editing and video editing. The external graphics of the GeForce MX350 can also be installed, but I personally think that the graphics built into the 11th generation Core processor are sufficient.

It is an excellent laptop for the price when I purchased as a openbox at BestBuy almost at over 55% discount of listed price. Windows 11 comes straight out of the box. This model has QHD display which is far superior to Full HD. The build is Aluminum metal and solid and the laptop is one of the unique products which can have a 360 degree rotation and can be used as a large tablet. It is heavy to be used as laptop in couch but tolerable. In addition to 16 GB Ram it has another Additional 32 GB optane memory. As per intel "Intel Optane memory also comes in a 32GB capacity. This size is ideal for accelerating game launch, running data-intensive applications, and creating or transferring large media files. Other performance benefits include: Animation work. Audio, video, and graphics editing." So though Ram is listed at 16 GB Optane memory of 32 GB is good to launch programs and webpages at lightning speed. The display is bright and classy though battery at continuous Video loop run can last around 5 hrs at 50% brightness. Battery can last over 10 hrs on off and on light use like browsing ,word document, youtube watching and routing work . Based on specs and entry level graphics card It is capable of running games decently at medium resolution but haven't tested it . The audio speaker volume is low for a computer of this size but audio volume can become really loud by by using programs like Equalizer APO with some caveats. The ports allocation is decent but an ethernet port would have been great. Keyboard is good to type with enough space for wrists and part of hand on Laptop. Touchscreen is great and similar to high quality phone screens. All in all Bestbuy openboxes offer great quality products at intense value though it is not available in shipping or in many locations.

I have always used Macs, but I bought this one for Windows and MOS. I was worried about it being too big, and when I initially got it, I thought it was too much. However, after getting used to its size and comparing it to 13.3 and 15.6 inches, I have come to really like this laptop. It was the only 17-inch touchscreen I could find with a higher resolution than Full HD and that didn't weigh over 5 lbs, and it really makes a difference, which ultimately was why I chose this Dell over the HP Envy. I LOVED setting it up and having it talk to me, I was worried because I had ordered it online and had no intentions of going into the store. It was so easy and actually fun to do, I swear it made me even more excited! I rarely flip it and use it as a tablet (it does feel too big for that), but it is a good weight where it doesn't feel too heavy when using it as a laptop, and the screen is gorgeous. I changed the resolution size so it's at 175%, and it makes it so clear and easy to read. It's awesome to have the touch screen capability and to flip it over like a tent for movies. I upgraded from my 13.3 in laptop, and the extra screen is really amazing! The only thing I'm not a huge fan of is the keyboard being so light you can't see the letters in certain lighting (though if you know your keys well, it isn't too big of a deal), and the battery life is weak. The sound quality also isn't the best (though not the worst), especially compared to a Mac. Also, because I was concerned with size, I decided to buy and compare the UHD 15.6 in version. I was ASTOUNDED by how cheap that one felt. The black exterior left fingerprints, the keys felt cheap, the screen had a yellow tint I was unable to fix (and saw it was a common issue when researching it). The entire laptop just felt cheap (even though it was more expensive) than this one, and it made me love this one even more. If you're someone who is wondering if 17 inches is too big, it's overwhelming at first, but it is absolutely gorgeous and so worth it once you get used to it. I've had this for about two weeks, and so far I am really pleased.

Bright screen with great color and high resolution. Good processing capability with 11th generation i7 processor. 16 Gigs of ram allows for several apps open simultaneously. Fingerprint sensor for security works well. Optane seems to facilitate speed of getting started after computer wakes from sleep mode or power off. The 17” screen initially seemed like it was too much but it’s great for large Excel spreadsheets. Streaming video too. The computer is reasonably light for its size. Internal camera for Zoom and other video falls far short of the overall quality of this device in terms of color and resolution. The labeling on the keys is very thin and visibility not the best. The backlighting for the keys is not great. Alexa proved to be so intrusive that I removed the application from the computer after one day. Dell tech support is no better than doing Google searches to find tech solutions. Generally satisfied with the computer and not dwelling on what might have been a better choice. Not quite good enough to rate 5 stars.

I love this laptop! It's compact sleek and not overly heavy. I really like the larger keyboard for my large hands and the fold over keyboard and touch screen make it that much more useful. Battery life is not bad as long as the battery saving features are enabled (this unit is pretty thin and to be honest I'm not sure how they manager to get a battery in the case that last as long as it does!); when on the AC adapter you can really turn up the screen for great image quality and color! I wanted the 1TB SSD but the increase in price was just more than I wanted to add to the cost of this laptop ($300) and to be honest I can easily live with the 512GB which is standard. I purchased a external 2TB SSD to go with my laptop and although it isn't quite as fast as the internal unit with the Optane boost I can buy nearly 4GB of SSD storage externally for the cost of increasing the internal to 1TB! The unit is quite thin and I like the fact the screen elevates the main chassis off of the desk surface to allow better air flow to the processor. The I7 processor is quite fast and I don't really ever experience any slow downs due to processor load nor SSD drive reads or writes. I also like that you can upgrade the GPU if you desire but this is not a gaming laptop. My wife also has an older Dell unit purchased about 2 or 3 years ago and it is also a 2 in 1 laptop and has proven to be both reliable and durable with it's 3GHZ I7 processor and 1 TB hard drive. It was purchased from Best Buy as well! I looked around to see if I could find a better price on this laptop at the time of purchase and could not. Thank you Best Buy for a solid product at a great price! Dell, keep up the good work. This is a pretty sleek and solid work horse laptop for a fair price and has enough leading edge tech to keep it in the game for several years!

Expandable RAM but can only take one SSD. Imagine my surprise when I went to Crucial and scanned to see upgrades for my new laptop. I thought 16GB RAM was the max. Nope. This thing can take 64GB RAM. It only has two slots, so you would have to replace the RAM it comes with - but that is acceptable if you want to upgrade later. The 500GB SSD can be replaced as well, but it takes the M2 form factor instead of SATA traditional old school form factor. That said, this thing is slick. No. I mean literally. This bad boy will slip right out of your hand. I’ve been looking for a cover of some type to make it more secure when I carry it from desk to couch but have been unsuccessful. It does get very warm (hot almost) when on my lap. If it is on a TV tray or table there did not seem to be much issue. If your Microsoft account had everything on the OneDrive from your last PC - you are in luck. I simply used my existing username and *BAM* it was all there ... even “last files used” in Word and Excel. By the way, the Office version it comes with is very good. It seems to have a nicer look and more options than the one on my previous PC - even though it was completely up to date. Only real complaint is the lack of more USB ports. But that can be rectified with a hub. I wish there was a docking station made specifically for this line of laptops. Maybe there is - but I could only find generic ones. Overall - big recommendation from me.

I bought this laptop to replace my Lenovo Yogi 13" laptop, which I still really enjoy. But I really need the 10-key, a larger screen, fast processor, and more RAM. I almost returned this because when I was setting it up, the screen began flickering badly. I ran several diagnostics on it, and downloaded some new drivers from Dell. It got better, but there was still a shadow on the screen similar to old ATMS, etc, where you could see burned in images. The shadow was most noticeable on the cyan color. I was debating if I needed to create a ticket with Dell. My computer guy thought it might be a warranty issue. Then there was one more graphics driver that came available. When I downloaded it, it seemed to take care of the rest of problem. So I'm tentatively using the laptop to see what happens. :-/ I'm definitely enjoying the larger screen and the keypad, which I didn't have on my old laptop. I think the 16GB RAM and fast processor will help it last. 2 things that bother me some now that I've used it for a bit: 1) the edge of the laptop case around the bottom has a sharp edge on 2 sides and front edge. The sides (edges) overhang the bottom panel, and the metal is sharp. I now have to be careful to not scratch my table when picking it up, setting it down, etc. It seems like bad fit and finish, which is disappointing for a Dell and a somewhat expensive laptop. 2) The way the hinges work make the bottom of the monitor hang down below the bottom of the keyboard panel. Doesn't seem like a big deal unless you like to set it on your lap to work. It digs into my legs just above my knees. I started shopping for a computer lap desk. I used to use my old laptop when I took my kid to sports practice. Not sure I want to pack around an extra computer lap desk for this, but it's uncomfortable otherwise. I'm sitting on the couch now and I have a folded up blanket on my legs as a cushion. These 2 things just seems like poor design to me. My Lenovo is so much more comfortable to hold with my hands (all smooth edges) and sit on my lap (nothing digs in). :-/

Pros: slim good screen fast enough for regular workloads (not talking 3d max here) good battery life for screen size and features Cons: runs very hot, had to disable turbo boost to be able to use this on a lap. Dell forums have a long issue threads about this. Without turbo you are not getting the performance that you paid for. Dell bloatware. Very often buggy. There are issues with aux output due to dells chosen drivers. I would also avoid their latest updates until getting users feedback. Some updates would cause plethora of issues (see dell forums) Silver keys on keyboard with weak backlight is hard to read against screen being bright. This issue is worse during evening/nighttime usage. Had to put dark keyboard stickers for my parents to be able to see which keys to press. All in all with discounted price its ok 2-in-1 solution with great screen, but not without its issues.

      Hello,

Thank you for your thorough review on our your Inspiron. We are glad to hear that you're pleased with various aspects of your Inspiron. However, we apologize for the overheating issue you're experiencing. Your feedback is incredibly valuable as we build current and future products. Below are steps that can help with overheating.

      1. Dell does not recommend placing portable systems directly on your lap. Due to reductions in the thickness of modern portable systems, heat transfer can be an issue.
      2. Using a portable system (Laptop) on a hard, flat, non-cloth surface will increase airflow and reduce heat from underneath and inside the system.
Using the portable system on a blanket, pillow, or other types of cloth will cover up the fan cause the computer to overheat and can cause permanent damage.
      3. It is recommended to use the portable system in a Room temperature of 0°C to 35°C (32°F to 95°F) with a Humidity level no greater than 90%.
      4. Use compressed air to clean the vents on a regular basis.
      5. Using a cooling pad can decrease heat and increase performance.
      6. If you want to know the temperature limitations for your system, go to the Dell Support Website, look up your system model then open the user guide under the manuals link.
      7. We'd also suggest checking to make sure that your software and drivers are up to date on Dell's Product Page - http://dell.to/3hmUpRy. We totally understand your concerns. We would like to assure you that with the latest firmware installed, you should expect the most stable up-to-date experience.
      8. This article contains further details that can help with your overheating: http://dell.to/2uJ8AdG.

Lastly, to help with the keyboard lighting issue we suggest disabling the backlit keyboard when you are in lit areas. This link can be used to turn off or on and troubleshoot backlit keyboard: https://dell.to/3tHbZ8X. We invite you to contact Dell Support at your earliest convenience if the overheating issue persists after the recommendations at 1-800-264-9896.

This laptop is pretty light, very thin, and has a wonderful touch-screen. I normally just use the touch pad for cursor control but the touch-screen capability is a nice feature. Color rendition on the screen display is very good. Text and picture display is very sharp. I don't use this for on-line games but I think it would be great with the size screen. So far the battery life seems very good. I can charge it and then run off internal power for most of the day.

Great laptop so far. It is lightweight, fast, and the large screen size and resolution works well for me. The only negatives I have come across so far are 1. The letters on the keyboard are difficult to see, illuminated or not. 2. The installed Dell software update utility did not work properly, kept failing on several updates. I had to manally locate the bios update on the Dell site, download, and install. One of the other updates that won't install I have not resolved yet...I think it is something about an update to the installed Dell utility. These are annoying but not huge issues to me. Otherwise, love the laptop.

This Dell, large, 2-in-1, touchscreen laptop is fast and lightweight for its large display size and full of the features I desire. I am pleased that it will fold and adapt to various positions as needed. I did my research homework to find the laptop to meet my required needs, and this one fit my needs and added more. Even though I have not had this new laptop very long, I am, already, very happy with this new laptop.

This computer more than meets my needs. I have it powering two monitors, playing music and casual PC games. If I need to, I can unhook it and take it with me. I though the touch screen would get more use, but I hardly use it. Nice to have but no necessary. This is an excellent computer that has been keeping up for a couple of years. Very satisfied.
