Bad buy
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bad laptop! It cost me over $1,300 to purchase this laptop. It cost me too much so I did not want the extended the warranty. I bought it around feb 2021. It used to get super hot around the top of the keyboard. Sometimes it will not turn on for a while. It used to take like 15 minutes to turn. I tried restarting many times and closing it. I used it mainly 2 days a week when i worked from home. Last week in just shutdown when i was in the middle of work. I called Bestbuy and Dell but no help. All they said was that it is out of warrantee and that i have to pay a $100 to get it shipped and be looked at. So i have to pay $100 then they will tell me how much it will cost. I do not want to mail it. What about if it will cost too much to fix?? This is my third Dell laptop. Very bad experience. Not worth the price at all

Works well, when it works
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When it works, the laptop runs everything I need, including machine learning models I need for college. It games well, and the only time I've had an issue is when I use both the internal 1600p display and an external 1440p display, which is a difficult task to begin with. However, just after the return window closed, it developed an issue where the MX350 gpu will just stop being detected, causing any graphically intensive app to crash. Now, a few months later, it is blue screening frequently. The fingerprint sensor will also randomly stop working from time to time. These make using the laptop for school extremely difficult. This is the second unit I received. I did exchange the first unit (I forget the exact reason, but I think it didn't turn on), expecting the follow up to be better. It clearly was not.

Issue Powering Computer On
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I just recently bought this computer and the very first day I had this issue where I sat the computer down, walked away and returned to a completely unresponsive computer. I returned the computer and exchanged it for the same model at the store and had the same issue. This issue is a problem with the model itself. I believe the issue is the computer is still on but is unsure of how to boot back up after it falls asleep. If you can return the computer and get a completely different model that would be best. If it’s too late for that then I recommend trying to change the battery settings so the computer never goes to sleep and the screen never turns off automatically. That may help. I just did mines today but haven’t had time to see if it works.

Dell- Inspiron 7000 2-in-1 Laptop
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.bought this computer to replace another dell computer that all of a year and half old and the hard drive went on it, I am really disappointed in this computer, first off the screen states that it's a 17 inch which I don't believe it is!!, SECOND- the keyboard is silver and lettering on it is too hard to see and the computer itself is silver so you have a silver keyboard on a silver computer useless!! had to purchase a keyboard cover to even see the keys on the computer, THIRD- it does not have a DVD/reader writer so you have to buy an external one, FOURTH- it does not have a ethernet plug so again you have to go buy an external ethernet adapter so BOTTOM LINE is you have to purchase multiple external accessories and then carry all the external accessories to even make this computer useful!!! the only good thing about this computer is the 2-in-1 feature, expected better not worth the price you have to pay for this Laptop

This computer has been a nightmare...
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased this laptop in June of 2021. In August, it died - shut down and wouldn't boot at all. After exhausting all of their phone support options, I ended up sending the laptop to Dell's service center. It came back damaged and not properly repaired. In November, they finally offered to send a replacement (refurbished) computer. Received the computer in December with the operating system not properly installed. Reinstalled the operating system and thought I was good to go. A week later... the computer randomly shuts down and will not power back on. Now, they're saying the motherboard on this replacement computer is faulty. Been dealing with Dell support for over 6 months on this issue. Obviously, there are some issues with this model.

I got a dud Dell.
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This may be a nice computer in theory, but the one BB sold me was a total lemon. The first thing I noticed was how dim the screen was on bootup. Since I had paid for advanced graphics with a dedicated Nvidia card, this was very disappointing. Then I set up the fingerprint reader, as I have done previously with my last two fones. The reader didn't work. I couldn't get anything for sound except a loud, annoying hiss and squawks. The icons on screen had to be clicked repeatedly and when a program launched it was hit or miss.

Posted .Hello EddyZee,
Thank you for taking a moment to share your input and review. We apologize for the trouble you have come across with the brightness of your screen and the fingerprint reader not working. Windows can adjust the brightness of the display based on how much light is reaching the system's ambient light sensor. This feature is referred to as 'adaptive brightness' and it can be disabled in Windows. Here are some steps to adjust this feature:
Here are the recommended steps:
1. In the Search box, type Settings.
2. Touch or click Settings (Modern application).
3. Touch or click System.
4. On the Display screen find the Adjust my screen brightness automatically option.
5. Touch or click the slider to toggle the option on or off.
6. Touch or click Apply.
7. Close the System window.
8. You can read the full article here: http://dell.to/2vjtPzg.
Lastly to make sure that we can help with the fingerprint reader issue, we recommend checking to ensure that the latest BIOS and the Dell Data Protection | Security Tools are installed on your system. Here is a link to an article that can further assist with resolving your fingerprint reader issue: https://dell.to/32bckET.
We recommend following the instructions above to resolve your screen brightness and fingerprint reader issues. If you still are encountering the issues, please contact our support team at your earliest convenience at 1-800-264-9896.
