Thank you for taking the time to leave us your review. We are happy to hear you are enjoying your Inspiron 7706 2 in 1 except for the touchpad sensitivity. Some Notebooks and Tablets with Keyboards have added gesture features to the touchpad hardware and drivers. A few of these features are two or three-finger scrolling, pinch zoom, circle zoom, rotate, and swiping. These new features may be the reason for the erratic cursor movement since most are turned on by default. You can disable or modify the way the features work in the touchpad driver properties. Here are some tips to modify these settings:
1. In the Search box, type main.cpl.
2. Touch or click main.cpl in the list of programs.
3. Touch or click the Dell Touchpad tab.
4. Touch or click on the picture of the touchpad.
5. Touch or click Gestures (depending on your computer there may not be a Gestures option).
6. Change the options as preferred.
7. Touch or click Save.
8. Touch or click the X in the upper-right corner to close the Dell Touchpad Utility.
9. Touch or click OK on the Mouse Properties window.
10. If the touchpad still does not work after following the preceding steps, refer to Dell Knowledge Base article - http://dell.to/2iaiujA.

About 6 months ago, we started noticing the battery started slowing down to where we have to keep the desktop plugged in for it to work.

The battery isn't as good, but that's more the user's fault than anything. I would recommend this computer to others.

Great laptop - poor backlit keyboard
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love the screen. I like the laptop a lot. I purchased an upgraded version with 32Gb RAM and 1TB HDD. It's working great, dual booting W10 and Linux. 2 things I don't like about this laptop is the backlit keyboard - it's not bright enough to see over the screen brightness. You literally have to shade the keys with your hand to see. It's unfortunate but I'll deal with it. Lastly, the camera isn't supported by Windows log in so you can't log in using your face.

I've had the BSOD several times, Fan gets super loud, the backlit keyboard is useless . I wanted to love this Dell, but I'm now using my 1 year old HP more because it doesn't give me all of those issues.

Thank you very much for your valued feedback. We apologize for the issues you have come across with your Inspiron 17. This is certainly not what we like to hear from our valued customers.
Below I have provided steps to help troubleshoot and resolve blue screen errors and the full article link.
1. At the desktop, click the Search the web and Windows box and type ""problem reports"".
2. Select View all problem reports to view a list of errors that have occurred on your computer and possible solutions for them, such as updating drivers, flashing your system BIOS, or checking for updates to the software.
3. Under the Source column, look for Windows and under Summary, look for Shut down unexpectedly.
4. Right-click the line item and select Check for a solution.

An out-of-date BIOS can cause loud fan noises by having an outdated temperature table for the system. Please check to make sure that your software and drivers and up to date.

To help with the keyboard lighting issue we suggest disabling the backlit keyboard when you are in lit areas. Below I have provided the steps to disable the backlighting and the full article link.
Backlit keyboard options in BIOS
1. Click the + sign next to System Configuration.
2. Click Keyboard Illumination.
3.* Disabled or Off - The keyboard illumination is off.
*Dim - The keyboard illumination is at half brightness.
*Bright - The keyboard illumination is at full brightness.
4. Click Apply, and then Exit.
