We bought this laptop as an open box item, and we are definately glad we pulled the trigger on it. It is a very powerful device with more than enough features to take care of your family and small business needs. Fast processing and amount of storage space are both big pluses. Also, the ability to use touchpad, mouse or touch-screen is very convenient. Highly recommended

Bought this laptop to replace old one since it didn’t do good job with remote office job. This one has a nice design, good battery life and quite powerful. Everything runs smoothly on it. Happy with my purchase, saved some $$$ because of open box. No issues, no scratches, no wear or tear.

They Don't Make 'em Like They Used to

My Toshiba Satellite showed signs of faltering after 7.5 years. I thought I'd save time in replacing it by going brick and mortar vs. shopping online. The Toshiba had a 17" screen with which I wanted to continue. That left me with 2 options at the store. The Dell won because it offered more memory at 16GB vs. the other brand's 12 GB, and it was on sale which also made it cheaper at the time vs. the other brand. My Toshiba had 6GB, so I was gaining speed regardless. However, the other changes that have been made to laptops since I bought the Toshiba don't mesh well with my usage habits. I had a wireless mouse plus 2 other flash drives that require USB-A ports. This laptop only has 2 of those ports plus a C-port which is of no use to me yet. I added a 7-port USB hub to remedy that situation. I also still listen to some audio CDs and occasionally burn DVDs, so I added Dell's plug and play CD/DVD drive to maintain that option. A solid state hard drive is nice, but my Toshiba had more total storage space, albeit HDD. I added an external HDD drive to more than make up the difference. Touch screen and tablet mode are all well and good but not a major upgrade to me right now. As others have mentioned, the keyboard markings can be difficult to see under certain conditions due to the lack of contrast between the colors of the markings and the keyboard. That has been surprisingly more annoying than I expected. I can't adequately speak to the battery life as I'm usually using the computer while plugged in. All in all, the computer has performed well once getting past the initial hurdles of finding the most compatible version of particular web browsers and whatnot. However, I was left feeling like I had to spend too much extra money to recreate my old setup.

Works great. No battery issues or heat issues. Touch screen is very responsive. Very fast on web. Loss of a star for an issue. I have uninstalled/reinstalled Chrome and even tried to deactivate Webroot, but something is preventing Chrome from loading. I have no adware and got rid of all extensions as well.

I like everything about the Dell Inspiron 7000 2in1, graphics are good and it is easy to navigate. The two things I've noticed so far that I don't like are the fan (it's a bit noisy, BOINC runs when I'm not using the computer and the fan is on all the time); and that the NUM LOCK key doesn't have any indication when the numbers are locked!

If you need a versatile machine for your work, art, or leisure, a 2-in-1 laptop is a good way to go. These laptops have touchscreens that can be folded to effectively turn the computer into a tablet. Not only can this be useful for work that calls for a more intuitive interface, but it can also offer a way to change up the way you work or to display a presentation. There are several features that make this laptop much like a tablet, without the sacrifice of storage or lack of computing power. Start with touch screen technology and hinges that allow you to fully invert the screen. Also available with a solid state drive and facial recognition software which greatly reduce the log in time (similar to a tablet). My only negative is the power switch, unfortunately placed on the right side edge where you would normally pick up a laptop. Need to exercise caution or you can inadvertently 'power down' the device, by hitting this button while in use.

I recommend this laptop. By comparison, I also have a Hp Pavilion that I use for school work and light gaming. This Dell Inspiron laptop is significantly brighter, faster, and able to process multiple applications with ease. The first Dell I purchased had to be returned the same day I purchased it because it was unable to recognize the charger. I had no issues returning it and purchasing a new one. I have had no issues with this laptop that haven't been able to be repaired. I have used this laptop for everything from watching shows, online schoolwork, work from home, and light computer gaming. It has handled it all. I would suggest Geek Squad though, I have needed them twice for volume issues. Both times they were able to fix the issue.

So far, I love it. It's lightweight and fast, Screen picture is excellent. Microsoft 11 is intuitive and not as big a leap as I feared, Best Buy did a great job transferring my hard drive and explaining everything to me. I hope it lasts as long as my last Dell. Great product!

This computer is amazing. Great platform and very fast. My wife absolutely loves this thing. She really likes how it turns into a tablet and also the touch screen feature. She uses it daily and we are very happy with this purchase. Remember when looking for a laptop, you get what you pay for and Dell is a very reliable brand.

The Dell Inspiron 7000 is pretty amazing, I'm enjoying the 17" screen and coming from my Surface Pro, it was a no brainer to go with the touch screen and foldable features. Seems really fast so far, don't think I will be out growing this one for awhile.

Good laptop. I would recommend it for quality and speed but i had to purchase a different keyboard. The factory silver one with white lettering is was near impossible to read even with the keys lit. I purchased an after market black keyboard and swapped it out. 72 screws to remove to switch keyboards

We were looking for a computer for mere portability sake that had as many 'bells-and-whistles" possible until it reached our price range for this traveling computer. We found it here. Speed, memory, data space, and the touch screen was a perk.

I was looking for a computer that would allow me to do my photographic and website design on my recent trip across the country. Coupled with a 2TB SSD pocket drive I was able to do all my work with no issues. Very impressed with speed, weight and dependability.

This computer is an excellent value for the price. It has all the features you could ask for on a laptop (other than arguably a stronger GPU if you're serious about gaming). In particular, the 16:10 screen is fantastic with excellent resolution, color gamut, and brightness. With a screen this large, you definitely want a good one and this laptop definitely has it! Pros - Excellent screen - All metal case - 16:10 screen (taller than the usual 16:9, great for productivity) - Solid keyboard - Large trackpad - Lots of ports (including USB-C Power Delivery/charging) Cons - Backlit keyboard is hard to read in some lighting - Crooked hinges (had to exchange my first, and even my replacement is slightly misaligned) - Heavy (~5lbs, though reasonable for a 17-inch laptop) - GPU is not enough for serious gaming Overall, if you're looking for a large desktop replacement the Dell 7000 17 2-1 has about everything you could need, as long as you're not a serious gamer.
