Working great until it didn't. Good News Though...

There's good news and bad news... Bad news first. I bought this system for editing videos and it worked great until, it didn't. It kept crashing, shutting off, and finally wouldn't even boot up, no power, nada! A motherboard fail! Good News... it was still under warranty and because the Geek Squad at Best Buy handles service, repairs, and the manufacturers warranty work, they are in the process of taking care of it. Geek Squad and Best Buy get 5 Stars... This fancy Dell Desktop on the other hand, gets a very generous 3 stars. I'm hoping it was just a fluke since Dell has always been pretty good to me. Either way, Best Buy and Geek Squad are on Santa's very nice list this year because of their help and dedication to fixing what's broken.

I strongly recommend installing an SSD and overall it's a well-built computer. However, I'm having an issue with one of the m.2 SSD slots. It looks like this desktop comes with 2 x m.2 sad slots but one of the slots is not recognizing nvme SSD. I tried with both Samsung Evo and WD black but not be able to find them. HELP!!!...

      inkytheghost,

Thanks for your feedback. If you'd like your computer to start up faster for you we'd recommend limiting the amount of programs that launch at start up:

      1. Close all open windows.
      2. Press CTRL + Shift + ESC key together on the keyboard.
      3. In the Task Manager window, click Startup tab.
      4. Select the program or application that you want to disable from loading during startup.
      5. Right-click and select Disable.
      6. Repeat Step 4 & 5 for all the programs or applications that you want to disable from loading during startup.
      7. Restart your PC.

    Not an optimal PC

This PC has 16gb of ram but the ram is only 2400 MHz. We all know how ram speed sensitive are ryzen 7 CPUs and ram is bottlenecking the CPU. No SSD is a bummer. If you want to play an open map games where maps are constantly loading for the drive then you need to buy an SSD to avoid stater. Forget about overclocking the CPU and I have 2 reasons why. First, Dell have their bios all locked down and you just can't overclock through bios (ryzen master has to be used) and the CPU cooler is so tiny that if you go more than 1.25v it will crash. On top of that there are no vrm heatsinks so while your CPU sensor could show the temp 60-75 the vrm is about 100-110 which will again lead to a crash.
