Got a display version, didn’t work well

So I went to bestbuy and this computer caught my eye. Going for 650$ and I was like wow what a steal. Since it didn’t come with any wires, they give me 50$ dollars off so i thought It couldn’t get any better. After a couple days I set it up. First thing I see is “A new desktop change was requested” And something about deleting the tpm. I didn’t know what to put and since I had a wireless mouse, I couldn’t use it yet. Then I got a wired mouse and it still didn’t let me choose yes or no. I called geek squad and no help at all and they started telling me to go on Sunday at 12 in the morning. If I don’t get the same computer back I would be very mad because I got that desktop for a very great price and wasted a couple hours looking for the perfect one and I found that one. Would’ve been nice if it actually worked. I really hope I get the same one back on Sunday. I took an hour to get ahold of someone and no help but the appointment on Sunday. Honestly once I saw that I didn’t touch it because if i did, I could’ve done something wrong or bestbuy could accuse me of it

This system looked good from the outside, till you open up the settings and check the specs. The Ryzen 7 is flawless paired with a Radeon RX 580 OC (1750mhz) Which means dell did some tinkering with the OS/BIOS which is completely locked on their cheap 2Ram Dimm Slots... and enough power to turn on the Computer (unless you want the video card and option light/wireless chip to fiction) a meager 420W on a standard 550w min setup.. an added flaw is the Hard Drive fails to load every boot and even forgets how to turn on, with a junk Toshiba 20mbs top speed Read/Write. New motherboard/OS Powersupply and new Dimms this computer could function perfect for 650$ in added parts. Save yourself the time and patiences of dells bottlenecked BIOS and buy a 2000$ Completed computer else where that starts like a new car every time. Side note, if you don’t return directly to a store they will don’t accept the item back. I called several times to get it picked up (I live in a semi-remote airport only area) and they played around with UPS attempting to pick the item up but every call got less and less helpful to the point they started lying about being able to do services currently and they’ll call me back tomorrow to avoid the 15 day period.. BESTBUY Customer service fails on big buys they know are cheaply made.

This computer is fantastic for the cost. Disclaimer: I did have an Nvidia GTX 1080 that I put into this desktop. I can play WoW at 1080p max setting and get a solid 70fps. That's literally all settings at max. The other thing I do is machine learning applications. The 8 cores are powerful for parallel processing. I was a little concerned at first that the it did not come with an SSD for storage, but I was happy to see that it does have a ton of expandability including an M2 port. I'm unsure if this motherboard allows for AMD's hybridized storage optimization to merge SSD and HDD into a single drive. It would depend on the the motherboard architecture, although that's not a must have feature. So, this computer is great for games and work. The HDD doesn't feel slow. You can get this for under $1k. Literally no reason this rig shouldn't be at the top of your wish list.

    Not an optimal PC

This PC has 16gb of ram but the ram is only 2400 MHz. We all know how ram speed sensitive are ryzen 7 CPUs and ram is bottlenecking the CPU. No SSD is a bummer. If you want to play an open map games where maps are constantly loading for the drive then you need to buy an SSD to avoid stater. Forget about overclocking the CPU and I have 2 reasons why. First, Dell have their bios all locked down and you just can't overclock through bios (ryzen master has to be used) and the CPU cooler is so tiny that if you go more than 1.25v it will crash. On top of that there are no vrm heatsinks so while your CPU sensor could show the temp 60-75 the vrm is about 100-110 which will again lead to a crash.

I did the benchmark tests on the unit and it did very well. I would say its a keeper. Fast gaming etc I maxed GTA 5 for a test and it played along fine..Starts up fast and the unit is very quiet. Lots of USB ports and 2 super fast USB ports. I transfer files to my external hard drive in a blink of an eye. I had shopped at Cosco and got ripped off on outdated computers. Below please find images..off my bench test..For this price you are getting alot. I got it on sale last week

I dig the PC, but there was absolutely no documentation in the box with it. I could not activate my Windows 10 because I had no product key. A couple of hours with support in India and they determined the fix was to send me a new motherboard with a key, then I had to return the motherboard. It was all prepaid and express shipped, so it worked out free, but it was a hassle. I can't use any of my windows 'My Office' apps because they claim I need to buy licenses for each one. Don't know if that's how it's supposed to be or not. Otherwise I would have given 5 stars.

I bought this when it was on sale otherwise its overpriced. Also the specs are good but hte internal hard drive is so slow! I put in a SSD and installed ubuntu 19.04 daily image and it is so fast. I had to disconnect internal HD to connect the SSD due to the way the power supply cables are. Both ram slots of 8GB each are taken so you will lose those 2 sticks if you decide to upgrade. THis is very good for a linux dev machine. It was so slow for Windows 10.

Came from a Mac and wanted to edit 4k video as my 11+ year old iMac didn't have the capability, but otherwise worked perfectly for me. What a mistake. This thing is super slow to boot, has poor wifi reception and it just seems very inefficient. I traded this in and went back to Apple and got the new MacBook pro. WHAT A DIFFERENCE. It's so night and day. If your expectations are of the highest quality, then DONT get this.

I bought this computer as an open box item after comparing the specs. Very solid components. Was especially pleased when I went to the Can You Run it site (https://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri) to find out it met Minimum Requirements for 99.7%games (6900+ games) they tested and 95.0% of Recommended Requirements (4,200+ games).

I strongly recommend installing an SSD and overall it's a well-built computer. However, I'm having an issue with one of the m.2 SSD slots. It looks like this desktop comes with 2 x m.2 sad slots but one of the slots is not recognizing nvme SSD. I tried with both Samsung Evo and WD black but not be able to find them. HELP!!!...

I am only a casual gamer, so this PC is more than sufficient for my needs; fast and stable. My only disappointment was realizing after the fact there are only two memory slots; therefore I wasn't able to upgrade the RAM by adding another 16 GB but rather had to replace the 16 with 32.

This computer runs games smoothly and has plenty of ram to run multiple applications at the same time with ease. I've had some trouble running the overclocking software but I'm not a hardcore gamer so it's not a deal breaker for me. However it does make me wonder if I have a larger issue that I'm just not aware of.

The computer has power and speed as well as instant response times. I love the look as well as the performance. The only con at all is I had to buy an external cd drive as the tower did not have one. It is still worth the price and the performance make me very happy!

I use an architectural rendering program and need some speed for that type of work. This unit is working well for that. I like the separate graphics card of the gaming machines vs the integrated stuff in similarly priced business computers. Well worth the money.
