I got this Dell 14 Plus 2-in-1 as an open-box deal, and overall it’s been really solid. The laptop runs fast — I’ve opened 40+ Chrome tabs and it still handles smoothly. Battery life is decent and the build quality feels premium. The only downsides are that the fans get a bit loud sometimes when multitasking, and the screen brightness isn’t strong enough outdoors — it’s fine indoors but struggles in sunlight. Other than that, it’s a great everyday 2-in-1 for studying, note-taking, and normal work. Definitely worth it if you get it for a good pric

Great laptop to have if you increase your upload and download speed with your Internet provider. You will end up paying $30 more a month to your provider, but your will be able to land a remote job making about $1,600 a month requiring you to download and upload documents.

If you're looking for a laptop that isn't ARM-based but still offers excellent performance, a sleek design, and the versatility to transform into a tablet-like device when needed, the Dell Plus 14 2-in-1 might be the perfect choice for you. It certainly exceeded my expectations! DESIGN When it comes to appearance, the laptop looks relatively gorgeous. With a slick sky-blue color all around, including a matching keyboard deck, I would say this looks better than the majority of laptops on the market— as long as you don't turn it upside down. When you look at the bottom panel, it is riddled with ventilation grills. Why? It ruins the design aesthetic, in my opinion. It boggles my mind because it's a 2-in-1 laptop, so if you flip the screen around, the screen backing will cover the grills. That aside, the side bezels are impressively thin. The top bezel is a bit thicker (about twice the thickness of the sides) to make room for the camera and a much larger chin. The included 65-watt USB-C charging brick comes in two pieces, which is nothing to write home about. PERFORMANCE You already know what you're getting with this computer. I will say the Intel Ultra 7 S2 256V processor is more than capable of handling most tasks for people, such as web browsing, entertainment (very light gaming and streaming media), productivity (Microsoft Office), and Adobe Creative Suite (with basic video editing). The integrated 16GB RAM and 1TB of SSD storage are sufficient, and you will be relatively happy with the performance. Again, for most people, this will be perfect. If anything, I would say one might consider 32GB RAM if they're going to be doing graphic design and video editing, but that's a different topic. The Ultra 7 Series has an integrated NPU, which is why this is pitched as a Copilot+ PC. That enables the computer to process AI features on the fly, such as the Studio Effects for the camera, Live Captions on videos, Copilot AI Q&A (kind of like ChatGPT), and more. Overall, I'm pleased with the performance, but it comes at the expense of the computer getting pretty hot. When it comes to battery life, Dell advertises up to 24 hours, but let's be realistic. I would say it's more about 9-12 hours, depending on several factors, including performance settings and what tasks you're doing. I've observed it's averaged within this time frame, so I would say a good 10 hours is more realistic. For a Windows computer running a x68 processor, that's pretty good in my book! Sound is adequate. It has two speakers coming from under the keyboard deck -- which also seems to be the common trend these days as Microsoft and Apple are doing this as well. It's not the best sound on a laptop, but more than adequate. THINGS I LIKE - Webcam The camera offers HD quality at 1080p, which is essential for a computer nowadays. I appreciate the Windows Studio Effects feature, which I believe benefits from the NPU capabilities of the Intel Core i7 processor. This feature enables active background blurring and frame centering. Additionally, the camera includes a lens cover that can be slid shut when not in use, which is a thoughtful design for those concerned about privacy. However, one drawback of this camera and the Dell Plus 14 2-in-1 laptop is that it is not compatible with Windows Hello. This means you won't be able to log in to Windows simply by opening your laptop; instead, you will need to rely on the fingerprint reader for authentication. - 2-in-1 Capability I appreciate that the screen can be twisted around, allowing you to use the laptop as a tablet. This feature lets you scroll through the web, use apps from the Windows Store, and flip the screen into presenter mode, among other functions. It is said that you can use Dell styli to interact with the screen, similar to a Surface Pro. However, I don’t have any styluses to test this out, but it’s worth considering if that interests you. -Performance This computer works well for me and likely for most users. Coming from a Surface Laptop 5, which has a 12th-generation Intel i7 processor (supposedly a similar class to this, but an older generation), I can immediately notice the difference. I am confident that this computer will meet my productivity and design needs for the next couple of years. COMPLAINTS - Windows Update at First Boot It took about an hour to get from the first boot to the Windows desktop. Now, this is not Dell's fault—it's Microsoft's, as it makes you go through a frustrating update process that requires a download and multiple reboots. Once I got past the Windows setup process and was finally able to use the laptop, it was pretty much smooth sailing from there. - Gets Warm Easily The laptop seems to get very warm fairly quickly without doing anything strenuous. It's difficult to understand, too, because there's literally nothing but vents on the bottom panel of the laptop, which destroys the overall design aesthetic of the laptop, in my opinion. With active cooling (a fan) literally spinning up, doing nothing, email and web surfing, I don't understand why it gets so warm, even with all the vents. OVERALL I think the Dell Plus 14 2-in-1 is a solid choice for those looking for a flexible laptop between a tablet and a traditional clamshell laptop. It's performance is great thanks to the Intel Ultra 7 Series 2 processor and the battery life is more than enough to get you through a workday or all domestic flights. It looks great and the webcam works perfectly which is important in today's Zoom or Teams-based world. I don't think you'll be disappointed with this purchase.

## Performance This laptop uses Intel's latest Core Ultra 7 Series 2 processor, which features the Arrow Lake architecture and 8 performance cores. This makes it adequate for handling Microsoft's new CoPilot+ features such as: - Cocreator: local AI helps generate images as you draw in the Paint application - Live Captions: local AI transcribes and translates over 40+ languages in real-time when watching videos - Windows Studio Effect: local AI helps enhance your webcam video, by blurring the background, auto framing, and noise cancellation in real time This is somewhat unique for a Windows CoPilot+ PC, as the first Surface branded CoPilot+ PCs utilized ARM processors, specifically Snapdragon X CPUs. This created some issues at launch with existing Windows applications, like VPNs, that were not initially compatible with ARM processors. However, this laptop's Intel’s x86 architecture is already compatible with most existing Windows applications, meaning they can run natively without requiring emulation. When testing the Live Captions feature (which isn't obvious to enable, you need to press the Windows key + CTRL + L) with a German YouTube video, the NPU processor averaged around 5-10% utilization. Therefore, the NPU appears to be very efficient and this is a cool feature if you work with audio or video content in another language. The Windows Studio Effects also work well for doing a portrait background blur (which looks a little more realistic than a traditional background blur) and automatically centers you as you move around the frame. It uses around 15-20% of the NPU will in use. The CoPilot+ features are still confusing almost a year later after their initial announcement. For example, "Image Creator" was shown as a way to create AI images locally. However, if you open Paint and select the Image Creator option, you're immediately prompted to buy a Microsoft 365 subscription so you can get AI credits (with no mention that you can go to the CoPilot website to create them for free from a non-CoPilot+ computer). The actual local AI-powered feature is supposed to be in the Photos app, but it was missing in this Dell PC (to be sure, I compared the screens to another CoPilot+ PC I own and the feature is definitely absent on this Dell machine). Is it due to the Intel processor? These inconsistencies make it hard to recommend a CoPilot+ PC for the AI features alone. I am happy to see that Microsoft is adding some local AI text rewriting and summary tools (similar to macOS) with a feature named "Click To Do". Unfortunately, these features weren't ready for the processor used in this particular laptop at the time of this review. Yet another inconsistency between CoPilot+ PCs. This system also features Intel Arc graphics, which while not as good a dedicated NVIDIA or Radeon GPU, can still handle casual games like Stardew Valley. The Cinebench R23 benchmark test were performed while the laptop was connected to power. Cinebench Multi-Core score: 7030 Cinebench Single-Core score: 1881 Outside of Microsoft's confusing Local AI features, I downloaded LM Studio and tested the deepseek-r1-distill-qwen-7b model locally (which utilized 5.5GB of the machine's 16GB of RAM). Unfortunately, it ran solely on the PC (not the NPU, probably a LM Studio limitation for now) and produced 9 tokens/sec. Not impressive, but not terrible, either. By comparison, a Surface CoPilot+ laptop with the Snapdragon X Elite processor achieved about 17 tokens/second, but to be fair, LM Studio is able to utilize the NPU of this processor. ## Battery Life When streaming YouTube videos, the system estimated about 12-16 hours of battery life, so this laptop would be ideal for students attending online classes (or in-person classes) with limited AC connectivity as well as adults walking from meeting to meeting. In the interest of maximizing battery longevity, I was generally happy that Dell offered a charge limiting feature in the BIOS. With that feature, you could limit the battery charging to 80% so your battery does not sit at 100% for long periods of time (which can be hard on a lithium battery) when left connected to the charger. Unfortunately, I was disappointed to see that this option is missing in the BIOS and in Dell's Windows applications. I hope this is not a trend for Dell's future machines. ## Design The Dell Plus 2-in-1 14-inch laptop features a matte aluminum exterior that looks solid and professional. The 14-inch display is reflective like most touchscreen displays, so a bright light behind you cause a huge reflection on the screen making it harder to see. The screen can get bright -- up to 300 nits -- which is good for overcoming indoor lights, but less effective outdoors. The monitor can achieve a 1920 x 1200 resolution which is good for multitasking, although I did find that I needed to reduce the default zoom level of 150% in Window's display settings. The laptop is not overly heavy at 3.5 pounds. This particular model is a 2-in-1, so the monitor can be folded behind the keyboard to use it as a tablet although no stylus is included with the unit. You can also prop it up in a "tent" style for viewing videos. The speakers are located underneath the keyboard, so if you're setting it on a cushiony surface (which you probably should avoid as it restricts airflow), the sound will be muffled. The keyboard is adequately backlit for late night typing and it is comfortable to use. The power button also doubles as a fingerprint reader for Windows Hello. ## Unboxing Set aside a good half of the day for the initial set up of this system. The first boot requires a significant Windows 11 setup process which took about an hour, followed by another 2-3 hours of installing Windows Updates and Dell driver updates. And in typical Windows fashion, you need to stay in front of the computer while it updates, otherwise the process will come to a hault at various advertising screens prompting you to purchase a Microsoft 365 license or a OneDrive storage upgrade. This is more a Microsoft problem than Dell's. ## Summary This laptop is a decent performer with very good battery life. The limited local AI features are nice, but I wouldn't get this laptop for the AI feature alone since it seems to be missing some features that are available on the Snapdragon models (such as Image Creator and some of the summarization Click To Do features, although these could come later). However, if the CoPilot+ features are important to you and you don't want to deal with the possible incompatibilities of a ARM processor, this Dell should fit your needs.

Built with lots of plastic and not very rigid. With the notebook open, if I pick it up from the corner, it will bend a bit. Especially the touchsrceen panel, it is flexible. I think the touchpad could be bigger, a lot bigger. However, it works well and it is precise and responsive. It supports gestures. Speed is plenty fast for most tasks. Apps load in a snap and didn’t experience any lag with 4K content or movies. I use this mainly for work with PowerPoint, emails and video conferencing and this does the job with ease. It comes with a FHD 1080 camera with auto framing which helps me in Teams meetings. It does have built-in AI with Microsoft’s Copilot to help you make stuff up quickly. Scary stuff! Along with the SSD storage, it does have a 16GB of RAM and the on board graphics card has 128MB so it can do some above normal, heavier tasks like simple photo and video editing with ease. First thing I do with Microsoft PCs is to set the Power Mode to Best performance and I basically disregard the battery consumption. The Touchscreen at 300 NITs is not bright enough for me. Dell has an Optimizer Console that lets you adjust saturation, temperature and contrast which helps dial in the way the screen looks. It has a 5/16” top border and 1/2” bottom border. Touchscreen is precise and responsive. It does support HDR. It has a wide viewing angle so maybe consider a privacy screen protector. Other than my complaint about not being bright enough, viewing pictures and 4K content looks pretty good though considering it is only Full HD (1920 x 1200), I can’t complain. Sound is tinny, no bass. It does support Dolby Atmos for the built-in speakers and headphones and it does throw sound around to make it spacious but nowhere near being powerful enough to enjoy an action movie. You can plug in a 3mm headphone jack if you want to go that route. It has a 65 watt external power brick to USB-C. Dell claims a 24 hour battery and I don’t have a problem with that. I’m so used to using MacBooks that I’ve forgotten about fan noise. This one is not so noisy though, noticeable but not annoying. It only came on for a bit after those annoying Windows updates. I will say that the notebook did not get that hot. It gets a little warm underneath the charging port while charging but again, not too bad. The 2-in-1 convertible tablet laptop is a feature that I was looking for with this machine. It is Windows Ink compatible but disappointed that it didn’t come with a stylus. Other than that, this machine performs well enough for my daily tasks and I know it can do more.

I have been looking for a versatile 2-1 convertible 14-inch laptop to replace the tablet on my desktop as a sidekick to my PC, to monitor and manage office tasks, emails, messages, notifications and serve as a research AI device. My requirements were more than met in the Dell 14 Plus DB04250, which is now my second Dell Co-Pilot+ equipped with integrated-dedicated Processing Unit (NPU). Highlights: - Build quality is brilliant engineering design and “undergoing rigorous military-grade testing” spells durability in an attractive portable aluminum case. Nice clean layout enhances the feel and looks of a premium laptop. - Speed delivered by the Intel Core Ultra 7 series 2 (8 CPU cores) with a solid CPU Mark score of 18016, pushes all apps my and routines smoothly and quickly. CPU is a Robust performer. Graphics are driven by Intel Arc which is snappy GPU and suitable for basic gaming. I use Co-Pilot+ regularly and appreciate Dell 14 Plus’s efficiency and performance while running Co-Pilot+. My number of Co-Pilot+ searches have passed that of my Edge browser searches due to the accuracy, clarity/contextual responses, and reduces the need for endless scrolling through sponsored ads and irrelevant unfiltered answers. Dell’s Plus 14 Co-Pilot+ implementation “Effortlessly” tackles every AI query. AI is reshaping how people interact with information. Notes: - Keyboard has good key positioning and tactile feedback - Integrated AI Copilot keyboard button – nice touch - Clear 14” Full HD+ Touchscreen – very responsive - LPDDR5 memory - 8533 MT/s memory speed - One M.2 2230 slot for solid-state drive - PCIe Gen4 NVMe - One Thunderbolt 4 (40 Gbps) with Power Delivery and DisplayPort 2.1 port - One USB 3.2 Gen 1 (5 Gbps) - One USB Type-C 3.2 Gen 2 (10 Gbps) with Power Delivery and DisplayPort 1.4 port - Full on manual - download - Hello Fingerprint reader – one of the best I’ve used - Camera Shutter – can close access to the camera – nice - Full charge after use all day remained charged – full charge less than 1.5 hours - Wi-Fi 7 (Wi-Fi 802.11be) 2.8 Gbps The Dell 14 Plus DB04250 has proven to be a great fit on my desktop and beyond. It has nudged its big brother, a Dell XPS 16 over in some daily tasks due to portability, smooth multitasking and excellent overall performance. One of the best tech upgrades I have recently made and will certainly be a good fit for professionals, students and those on the go.

This was an "Open Box" purchase and I bought it because of the "Excellent" condition noted in the advertisement/description. However, I was sadly disappointed when I opened the box amd saw the scratches on the front as well as the charging cable. The description didn't mentioned any of the scratches.

I really like this Dell - Plus 2-in-1 laptop. My immediate and really favorable impression is the keyboard. I love the feel of the keys and how quiet they are. The backlighting of the keyboard is top quality. It presents with a high-end feel. Setup was easy. You have to do the typical update process, but Microsoft has streamlined this and it is as easy as ever. The computer itself performs well. It has a lot of power with the intel Core Ultra 7 chip, 16gb of memory and 1 tb SSD. I have not experienced any lagging and the laptop performs very well. The screen is 14” which I prefer for easy travel and is touchscreen. The picture quality is great. Sound is standard. It’s is exactly what I expected and performs well while watching a video. The screen folds all the way back turning the laptop into a tablet. This is a nice feature and gives you flexibility to have a built in stand while watching videos. The mouse touchpad performs well although I like to use a wireless mouse. What I really like is the biometric finger print reader that allows you to log in with the touch of your finger. There is a standard USB port, headphone jack, HDMI port and two USB-C ports one of which is used to charge the laptop. It’s been a while since I had a Dell and I like it better than the others on the market. Overall, this is a great buy and will serve your needs for years to come.

DESIGN The aluminum body and 2-in-1 design is what I really like about this laptop. I haven't had a 2-in-1 in a few years. The hinges work smoothly and it's comfortable to use the laptop in the modes other than laptop mode. This laptop comes with a nice variety of ports. I like that is has an HDMI and USB-A port. It would be nice to have a USB-C port on both sides just to have the optionality of which side to plug in the power cord. SETUP Setup was simple, but that's mostly due to Microsoft and Windows, not the laptop itself. There are minimal docs in the box, it basically just tells you to plug it in and power it on, but it does include a QR code to take you to Dell's website. CONNECTIVITY Wifi 7 is great. I have a Nighthawk WIFI 7 router with 1Gbps fiber and I was able to get 960Mbps upload/download while in the same room as my router. Any of my older devices typically top out at 600Mbsp. I like how this laptop comes with a USB-A port. I still have some devices with USB-A connections, so it's nice to be able plug them in this laptop (Please note that the Best Buy site mislabeled the USB-A port as USB-C). As with other reviews, it would be nice to have a USB-C connection on the right side of the laptop, but it's not a deal breaker. It's nice to have a headphone jack. My other laptop literally only has USB-C ports. With this Zenbook, I don't need an adapter. INTERFACE The keyboard is very nice. Keys are far enough apart that you can tell what key you are on (I have a recent XPS laptop where the keys are larger than usual and the gap between keys is tiny you don't know what key you are on, so that one is really hard to type on). The keys are quieter than other laptops I have. The touchpad is very smooth and easy to work with. The touchscreen is nice. I like how the interface changes to a more touchscreen friendly icons when move the monitor to one of the positions other than standard laptop mode. BATTERY The battery has been great; I have been able to use it for hours without having to worry about charging it. CONCLUSION/FINAL THOUGHTS I am very pleased with this laptop. The performance has been great for my needs. I have not had any issues with the laptop in the week I've been using it. I would recommend this laptop.

The packaging for this Dell 2 in 1 laptop is pretty basic, nothing fancy. Included is a SUB-C charger. I’m glad to see most laptops these days use a USB-C, it makes it easier. You can even use it to charge your other devices such as phone or iPad. The design of the laptop is also pretty basic, nothing really stands out, as far as appearance. The corners on this laptop are rounded, I prefer the squared corners, it has a nicer look. The rounded corners reminds me of the Chromebooks my kids get from school. Some features that I like on this laptop include: light up keyboard (2 brightness levels), 2 in 1 design. With the 2 in 1 design, you can prop it up like a tent while watching videos, you can also fold it over so it’s sitting on the keyboard or you can fold over to hold it like a tablet, although it’s kind of on the heavy side to use as a tablet. After using it for a few days, the feature I don’t like is the fingerprint reader to log in. It doesn’t always work for me. I would say it works 50% of the time, the other times, the screen doesn’t even acknowledge I have a finger on it. So it’s not like it’s not recognizing my fingerprint, it doesn’t see it at all. I prefer logging in using the camera/facial recognition (they call it Windows Hello login). I see that in the settings, but it says “This option is currently unavailable”. Not sure why, as there is a camera. I did ask Co-pilot this question, it came back with some suggestions. I followed them and still can’t activate it. Copilot AI: CoPilot AI is an AI geared towards Microsoft products, it can help with tasks such as writing, coding, brainstorming, and answering questions. I was able ask it to write a basic Excel macro for me, provide a resume for a particular industry and it did so efficiently. It’s able to answer most question I threw at it, similar to other AI apps I’ve used. Windows Studio Effects: I feel Windows doesn’t do a great job letting the user know about the Studio Effects features. I had to research to see what Windows Studio Effects was all about. You can find Windows Studio Effect by clicking on the WiFi icon on the bottom right, the click Studio Effects. In short, Studio Effect uses AI to enhance the video shown on the camera, say in a conference call. You can blur the background, have the camera automatically center on you, even if you move around and maintain eye contact. The last feature, maintaining eye contact is nice, for work, I use a laptop (doesn’t have Copilot AI) and a large screen. I use the built-in camera on the laptop, but I’m often looking at the larger screen that sits above my laptop, so it looks like I’m not looking at my co-workers. This feature would come in handy. As for the other features, nice to have, but not really groundbreaking these days, Zoom blurs the background and my iPad Pro camera follows you on FaceTime calls. Live Captions: The Live captions provides real time subtitles. In testing this with videos from YouTube, it worked fairly well and was able to accurately translate what was spoken. Sometimes on a slight delay though. Cocreator: A feature in Microsoft Paint, AI can help you with your art. I didn’t try this feature as I’m not much of an artist. Overall this Dell laptop does many things well. The Intel Core Ultra 7 Series 2 is powerful enough to run all my applications and the AI applications with ease. With a roomy 1TB hard drive and 16GB of RAM, it’s a great choice for most users. If you need or want the AI features that are built in, this is a great choice!

Dell has rebranded their computer lines. What was Inspiron, Latitude, and XPS is now Dell, Pro and Pro max. In each of those is Base, Plus and Premium. This laptop Is a Dell Plus, so its on the lowed end. Using this for a couple of weeks I do not feel like it is inferior in any way. Out of the box, this feels like a laptop you can travel with. It is not super heavy, this under 4 pounds which make it pretty good to put in a backpack. Included ports are a headphone jack (WHY?), 1 HDMI, 1 USB, 1 thunderbolt and 1 USB-c. You are pretty well covered with connections. Setup was pretty easy, i even got the option to transfer all of my backup data stored on the Microsoft cloud from backups. I chose to install as a new computer. If you use a lot of zoom, we can finally get 1080p cameras. This is very amazing I think. A lens cover would have been nice. I will say, the battery life I get is MUCH less than advertised by Dell. They advertise up to 24 hours, I got about 8. This can get you thru a work day or a long flight before you have to charge. Bit locker encryption is turned on by default. There is a built in Dell optimizer for the battery and color hue of the laptop (more blue or more of a brown colored screen). This shipped with 16GB of RAM and I think it can be upgraded. When we start to talk about the new AI functions of Dell and Window's that's where I start to get lost. There is a lot going on and I am just stating to learn it all. It looks like you can make your captions when you video chat with someone. You can have AI edit your pictures, and AI can help you with your computer security. My only real complaints are the heat from the processor, the touchpad works on a subpar basis, the plastic does feel cheap

I have been a Dell user for three generations and have consistently been very pleased. This computer's lightweight design enables easy transportability. Its processing speed is remarkably fast, and the processor operates smoothly. The touch screen is a fantastic feature, and I highly endorse this computer.
