    Sleek Monitor

Setup was easy. The monitor is well packaged. Assembly requires no tools. A 6ft HDMI cable is included, which was really convenient for plugging in my laptop. The picture is sharp, with good brightness and color. It auto selects the correct input when plugged in. I don't usually think of a monitor as pretty, but this one actually has some style to it. With a brushed metal base and smooth black plastic back, it looks great on my glass desk. The base also has a hole for cord management. Two things to note before buying are that the base has tilt adjustment only (no height) and it may not work with aftermarket mounts. Overall this is a beautiful, well thought display that looks good on or off.

For this review I'm using this monitor as a secondary in a home office, connected to a docking station via VGA. Out of the box, this monitor is quick to set up. The stand locks in place with a turn latch type screw, meaning no tools required. I connected this monitor to a docking station using VGA and it was quickly identified. Overall setup is quick and intuitive. The pros of this monitor are that it meets all the basic expectations - solid stand, physical buttons, ease of set up and options. The monitor quality is average, with the expected color options and settings. I like that the menus are easy to navigate with the 4 physical buttons on bottom right of the monitor. The downside to this monitor is that for an office with windows I have a significant amount of glare on the screen, see attached photo. Also, I find that the "Comfort View" which I'd expect to reduce blue light, doesn't match the quality of my primary monitor. Lastly, I find it frustrating that the monitor stand is rigid, so I have no ability to adjust for height, only tilt. I'd recommend this monitor for someone needing a basic monitor for non-gaming purposes in a room that has low to no natural lighting.

    Awesome affordable biz-class monitor!

For the current sale price of $100 this 23" is a real bargain. I originally bought one for my mother months ago for a much higher price. However, when I saw this massive price drop, I bought one for myself as a general use laptop monitor. Now for the rundown. The Good: -InfinityEdge bezel psychologically makes screen real estate appear larger than it's. -99% sRGB coverage out of the box with calibration certificate. -True IPS panel (vs. mid-range VA-IPS panels marketed as IPS) -Glossy screen for more clarity (can be a negative in bright rooms however with reflective glare). -Low power consumption and heat output. -Sleek design with minimal footprint. -D-Sub (VGA) input for older laptops and computers with no HDMI/Display Port out. -When calibrated with a professional level monitor calibration tool, the display quality, specifically regarding colors and black level, are well above its price range and closer to a 10-bit panel. The Bad: -No VESA mount, no interchangeable option for other Dell stands, and no height adjustment - only tilt adjust on the stand (but I knew this going in). That's rather disappointing since I've several Dell monitor full adjust monitor mount stands laying around doing nothing. -Only a 1-year warranty. Inexcusable for a business-class oriented monitor line which Dell targeted in between basic consumer and professional (UltraSharp) classes. Personal thoughts: Dell's new S2x19NX series were introduced in April 2017 and came in 23", 24", and 27" flavors. So yes, it's a year and some change old, but that'sn't unusual in monitors. Usually when retailers have fire sales like this, it means a replacement model series is coming. And history from my perspective means that'sn't always a good thing. Now to respond to a complainer about no speakers, the NX line doesn't have built in speakers - that's for the H-series. But I've always thought of monitor speakers as a waste of resources anyway. If you want sound, buy speakers people. And for the love of heaven people PLEASE do your research before buying! If you are unsure, ASK! There are plenty of tech nerd volunteers like myself more than willing to assist you. This monitor had an introductory price of $219 last year (I paid $175 through a popular E-tailer for my mother's), so Best Buy offering it for $99 is a steal. You won't find it at that price elsewhere. I bought this for myself to replace a nine year old 22" 1680x1050 Samsung monitor used as a laptop monitor. So while the size wasn't a big improvement for me, the increased resolution and InfinityEdge really makes a boost. Of course for my mother coming from a lame 19" 720p monitor, it's a whole other level to her. I priced the 24" variant here at BB and could not justify the more than double cost ($230 at this posting) only for another inch of screen real estate. If you have an older/smaller/lower resolution monitor, jump on this deal while it lasts. Finally, as stated, this monitor has a glossy screen. While a non-reflective screen (matte) may reduce glaring in bright room/window conditions, it also takes away from the color "pop" and causes characters to look more fuzzy. I find the trade off much better with a higher quality screen and just position the monitor away from back light reflection sources. So keep that in mind depending on your situation.

My experience with Dell monitors has always been very pleasant. Of course, not all monitors are created equal and some have been far more enjoyable than others but still good experiences all around. The Dell S2319NX 23" certainly lives up to my expectations for Dell quality. Packaging is nice and out of the box, the monitor looks to be built well. Assembly is pretty straight forward. Base connected to vertical support via a screw and the Base + vertical support connect easily to the back of the monitor. Unfortunately, my biggest complaint about the S2319NX is that you can only make adjustments to the tilt of the monitor, not to the vertical height. Maybe that isn't an issue for everyone, but for those working at standing desks or of different heights, we might want to customize our viewing height. You can't do that here and there doesn't appear to be any way that you could use this monitor with a multi-monitor (or single) stand that you purchased yourself. I'm clearly not a fan of the stand, but I do like the fact that the monitor has a nice sleek appearance on the back which isn't always the case. Additionally, the bezel is extremely small which I think adds an extremely modern appearance as your screen isn't bordered by a bulky box. The picture is very satisfying. Colors are vibrant enough with plenty of brightness. Viewing angles were also quite nice and enjoyable viewing at almost up to 180 degrees. The monitor comes with the standard array of customization options which should allow most of us to find a desirable setting that suits our particular needs. I found the menu buttons slightly lacking in that you don't know what the button does before you push it. The S2319NX does have an audio in and audio out, but doesn't include any built in speakers. I'm fine with this as it would just detract from the monitor itself. The monitor only has one VGA port and one HDMI port on the back which can limit its possible uses, but just requires some manual swapping like we had to do in the old days before everything (except this monitor) had six ports for every imaginable connection. Additionally, the power supply is a bulky AC adapter which I haven't noticed on any of my other monitors. This will likely be hidden behind your desk, but is a minor frustration having to cram it in with all the other bulky power packs and power strips. In all, I think the Dell S2319NX is a good value (especially right now, it's on sale for $129.99 AND was on sale earlier for $99! @@@@@@@ . If you need a good quality monitor that will likely still be very functional even after 2-3 computers have been tossed in the garbage, this is a solid bet. Almost all of it's deficiencies can be overcome by relatively minor adjustments, but I think the lack of additional HDMI ports and vertical height adjustment are my biggest complaints and may be a deal breaker for some. If I'm just using this for a basic home office or work computer, it'll more than satisfy your needs. Pros: *Picture quality *Response time *Small bezel *Stylish back design *Price Cons: *Lack of vertical height adjustment *Lack of more than 1 HDMI port *Inability to mount on anything other than the included stand

Nothing Spectacular But Good for What It Is

There is not much to say about this monitor. It works. The bezels are thin but there is a frame around my screen, inside the bezel. I don't know if I have to fix settings or what, but I don't like it. The stand is fine. It does nothing but tilt a bit. Not a big deal, unless it is. It is easy to move. The color reproduction on the monitor is fine. I don't look at it and think, 'oooo-weeee look at that color pop!' I just say, meh. In other words, many people don't care for spectacularism. One port for HDMI. One port for VGA :-O it has audio jack, but I forgot to find something to test it with before unplugging it. This monitor is fine for many people. If you don't care about'stuff' and just want a monitor, have at it; it will not disappoint. But that frame in between the picture on the screen and the bezel though..... It is truly average. And there is nothing wrong with that. Peace.
