Good monitor for a fair price. Thin bezel is a pro.

I thought this was a great deal because it was on sale for $99, but it just wouldn’t connect so I could use it as a second display. The one time it did, I don’t know how I got it to work and it never connected again.

Both the physical aesthetics and the actual performance of the monitor are excellent! I love how nice this looks on my desk. The minimal bevel with the image going right to the edge is my favorite style. The included desk stand is a minimal design which takes up as little space as possible. It has a swivel allowing the monitor to tilt forward or back. There is no height adjustment, but nowadays that really isn't an issue because if anyone wants height (like me), the monitor can be mounted via the VESA panel to a stand. One really nice touch is if the desk stand is being used, they include a cover to hide the VESA panel. This is great if the monitor is at a reception desk or anywhere that people are looking at the back of the monitor. It gives it a much cleaner look. Now, for the true performance - images are beautiful. Colors are crisp, motion is smooth, and contrast is excellent. Whether in bright or low light, I am happy with the image quality. The matte finish on the screen reflects some ambient light, but it is quite minimal - definitely not anything that distorts the image. I played a variety of 4K videos, specifically trying to find motion blur and I was really impressed. Images with even the finest detail sail across the screen and stay sharp the entire time. Obviously, this performance is dependent on both the monitor and the video source. A lower quality video will not have a refresh rate fast enough to keep up. I was also really impressed with the viewing angle. The screen is pretty visible to the extremes moving up, down, and side to side. The only area that seemed to be an issue is if I looked at the screen at diagonal angles 2, 4, 8, or 11 o'clock. 1, 3, 6, and 9 are sharp well beyond the limit that anyone would realistically be viewing the screen, so it is beyond adequate to me. There are plenty of monitors on the market that struggle if someone is more than a small amount off center. They seemed to think about it with this design. Last but not least, the screen adjustment controls are clearly pointed out via the onscreen menu. I have lost count how many monitors expect a person to instinctively know the function of each button. Here, the menu is really clear about button location and function. The only negative I see with this monitor is that it only has HDMI inputs. Obviously that is fine if the user needs HDMI. If anyone wants to use the monitor with an older computer, they will need an adapter to convert their signal to HDMI. Adapters are pretty cheap, so that too is not a major deal. I do like that there are two inputs and the monitor automatically scans both for a signal when I shutdown my computer. It is nice to have that automatic feature instead of having to manually switch inputs if the monitor is connected to two different devices. Overall, I am really happy with this monitor.

Literally does not work. I got this for our home office, and it does not work at all. No wonder they were on clearance. Very disappointing. Do not recommend. Better off getting from amazon.

Best buy sucks, especially Millville Nj. Bad from top to bottom

Product broke within a week of using it. And due to personal issue was not able to return it within the timeframe allowed.

After a month (and installed for 2 weeks) it has already stopped working.

I got this monitor to use primarily as a larger screen for my laptop when editing photos. My photo editing software is limited to one computer. My original thought was that if I installed it on my laptop I could review and edit photos in the field. My editing software has menus on either side that consume about 1/2 of the screen plus small spaces on the top and bottom leaving a pretty small space to view the actual image. With this monitor I can have a much better (larger and more accurate) view once I get home. The IPS gives this monitor a much sharper and more precise image than my laptop screen. Before hooking this monitor to my laptop, I hooked it up to a desktop that used a TV as a monitor. The desktop has much more advanced video processing than my laptop. This monitor had a clearly superior image to the TV. The TV was also hooked up to a TIVO which I hooked to the 2nd HDMI connection. This monitor provided a great TV picture but did require an external speaker. The monitor inputs could be switched via the 3 buttons on the lower right of the monitor. While connected to the desktop, I played several game demos that were included with the video card. The monitor played them all flawlessly. Connected to my laptop this monitor has really helped me with my photo editing. The more precise and much larger screen is just what I needed. While I know there are much more technically advanced monitors out there for gaming, color balancing ..., this monitor will perfectly fulfill most display needs.

I have used this monitor for a little over two weeks to give me some experience before writing this review. As others have stated, it is a quality product by a company that knows a few things about monitors. The 1920x1080 resolution with low blue light IPS is now becoming a standard even in lower-priced monitors. It has good color saturation and displays crisp images and text. It has a fairly large viewing angle that approaches 45 degrees off center. It has several color temp settings, but for most things, I prefer the standard setting. Be sure you go to the Dell website and download the software/drivers that allow you to set each use (e-mails, browsers, etc) to a different color temp. I am not sure that can be done within the built-in menus of the display itself. I also like the auto input switching for two HDMI sources. Curiously, there is no USB-A or USB-C input as many newer computers use USB-C for all input/output. I have a dock that takes my USB-C Thunderbolt 4 output of the computer and uses two HDMI ports to feed dual monitors. I suppose the same could be done with a simple dongle if you did not need to hook up other gear. The base is stable and easy to install without tools and the cover for the VESA access is a welcome addition to make the back look much cleaner - kudos to Dell for this simple yet effective little upgrade! Nothing much to complain about at this price point. It will be hard to beat the quality, the screen, and the features for anywhere near this price. It is a solid buy now.

This is a very high-quality sturdy monitor made with high-quality materials. Easily assembled by attaching the arm to the panel and base with no tools required. The monitor has all the latest features typical of high-quality monitors - ips panel, low blue light technology, AMD FreeSync, VESA mounting, FHD 1080p resolution. The color produced by the ips panel is just simply outstanding. The colors are vivid and brilliant, it just blew me away when I first turned it on. Much better than any monitor I've previously used. The AMD FreeSync ensures that frames rates of content and refresh rates of the screen are the same, avoiding blurs or jumps. The refresh rate of 75hz and response rate of 4ms is typical of non-gaming monitors. The low blue light (LBL) technology reduces the amount of blue light emitted from the screen which may affect some peoples' ability to sleep after spending extended time in front of the screen. VESA is a standard for mounting monitors and TVs. Having a VESA mounting pattern allows this monitor to be wall or movable arm mounted for convenience and/or ergonomics. The VESA pattern on this monitor is 100mm x 100mm. The resolution is FHD which is 1920x1080 or simply 1080p. Good enough for most users unless you have 4K content you want to view. The panel has the typical controls on the bottom right-hand edge for brightness, contrast, etc. Bottom line is this is a great monitor for the price with outstanding color.

The Dell S2421NX is a low cost work and gaming monitor that supports full HD 1920 x 1080 resolution with a 4 ms response time and a 75Hz Refresh Rate. The monitor has a 23.8” LED Edgelight IPS panel. I was impressed with the wide viewing angle and great color. The 1000:1 contrast ratio gives sharp images with all my content, video, gaming console, digital photos and text. I felt everything was clear and crisp. AMD FreeSync Technology Seamlessly synchronizes the frame rate output between your graphics card and monitor if your graphics card supports this. This dynamic refresh rate effectively eliminates image tearing, stuttering, and jerkiness that can be seen in some monitors while gaming. There is built in blue light emissions reduction that makes it more comfortable for those work or gaming warriors. This monitor has dual HDMI ports with automatic switching between your computer and gaming console or other device that outputs HDMI. The monitor is mountable with a Vesa compatible mount or you can use the supplied stand. Dell supplies a cover for the Vesa mount if you don’t use it but leaves it off so you don’t have to find the way to pry it off like others! As far as the appearance of the monitor it has thin black bezels with the lower one larger to allow controls and electronics to drive the panel giving the monitor a sleek look. The controls are well labeled and easy to use located on the bottom right of the lower bezel. On screen prompts make it easy to adjust the many functions of this monitor. If you want to use this for graphics take the time to choose the best color settings as the standard is not well balanced. You can use the built in color calibration tools of your OS or use a dedicated calibration device ($$) The only con is this monitor only has HDMI inputs, you will need an adapter if your device has another output. Adapters are inexpensive these days so it is not a big deal. For those who want a 4k high refresh rate monitor to use with high end gaming you will have to pay more. In summary this is a great looking low cost monitor with great color and image quality that can be used for work or full HD gaming.

As the years have gone on and I have used more and more monitors in my life (I currently use 6) it’s oddly gotten harder to distinguish them apart. Features that were once cutting edge are now common place. Brightness and crispness that used to catch my eye as unusual seem to be everywhere. This screen tries to separate itself just a bit and I think it succeeds. First off one area that has really improved over the last few years is no different here. The base! Easy to assemble and ultra effective I absolutely love how this device sits. There is a little plastic cover that goes over the entire legally required lingo on the back. I don’t usually see the back of my monitor so this has no benefit to me, but it’s a clever little addition that some will love. Physically overall the monitor is a solid 5*s. The picture itself is great. I think for the price range, the value is excellent. Full HD with contrast that really pops that looks stunning while streaming. No noticeable reflections or flicker. The bezel around the screen is very small. The bezel extends a ¼” or so which would make it a great candidate for a duel monitor setup. I switched to some gaming and again I was very impressed with the picture. I just tried to get into the most hectic and kinetic situations I could in a few games and everything looked great. All in all this is a high value, solid monitor. Good price, size, quality and a thin bezel that would make it great for duel monitors. You can hook up two inputs via HDMI (1 cord included) and effortlessly switch back and forth. Oh and the screen adjustment buttons are great, very easy to navigate. I am happy to have this monitor as part of my PC work station and I would absolutely recommend it to a friend. Well done Dell!

I wasn't expecting such a great Monitor with the price I paid. This Monitor has exceeded my expectations! The colors are vibrant making all my photos pop! The size was exactly what I needed. I would recommend this product. This Monitor is worth the price!

The assembly is very simple, with clear instructions, and no tools needed. It has two HDMI ports, which is a welcome change from my other monitors that have one HDMI and one VGA. I can finally lose the adapter I’ve been using to share my monitor with my laptop. The auto-switch between inputs works well also. It also comes with a decent quality HDMI cable. The power supply is integrated, so there’s no brick taking up desk/floor space, and it uses a standard power cord. The monitor stand is fine, with a simple (yet surprisingly effective) slot in the riser for cable management. The stand allows for a decent degree of tilt, but does not have adjustments for height or swivel, but that’s not really a big deal. It also has VESA mounts (and a decorative cover if you don’t use VESA) so you can mount it accordingly if you wish. The display is very nice, with good color and no missing/broken pixels. The screen itself has a slightly matte finish, so glare hasn’t been a problem. For the price, this monitor is really hard to beat.

This monitor works like a charm with my MacBook. It's so nice to see my Protools screen large. Easy to set up. Good deal.

The Dell S2421NX is a good 24" 1080p monitor with the features you would expect along with great image and video quality. Design It's a fairly basic and standard looking black monitor. The top and side bezels are not thick and the bottom one is fine, big enough for the Dell logo but not too big for me. There is and oval shaped hole in the neck of the stand for cable management that's simplistic but easy to work with and effective. There are two HDMI ports and one 1/8" stereo out port as well as a standard large three prong power cable connector. The monitor comes with one power cable and one HDMI cable. This has an In-Plane Switching, LCD. IPS displays are generally brighter than non-IPS displays and they also provide better viewing angles, so from the top, bottom, or sides the display looks more the same as it does straight on than it does on non-IPS displays. Display I think color and image quality in general is very good. It has blue-light reduction, which always scares me but when I look at photos on it they look excellent. It's the same with video. The color and general video quality looks great. The screen is also a bright and clear, as it should be, as well as evenly lit to the corners. Controls I like the onscreen display and how it works. There is a power button and there are four other buttons all in a line at the bottom right of the monitor. Touch any one of the four to get the on-screen display. After that it points to the button for each function. I found it easy to understand and work with. Features Besides having two HDMI ports that you can switch between, it also has auto-switching, the blue-light reduction I mentioned before, and AMD FreeSync which is to prevent tearing in video games - though this is not a "gaming" monitor. I did some testing of the auto-switching and it worked great. Plugging in system A displayed system A quickly, as it should. Then I connected system B at the same time and the display automatically switched to that. I disconnected system B and it switched back to system be automatically. The viewing angles are very good, as it should be since it's an IPS display. Other stats are fine and was they should be for what it is.

I love this monitor and like its modularity. It has a removal panel that allows you to attach it to a typical 4 point monitor arm if you choose or keep the attachment point hidden and blending in with the back of the monitor. Had it up and running in less than 5 mins.

Good size for my desk, color is great. Really pleased for this monitor. Great price and free delivery.
