    Pretty good monitor, but the text clarity isn't great. It actually bothers my eyes. For most people, this monitor might be fine, but for those with sensitive eyes, you'll probably need a monitor with higher pixel density (PPI).

However, we are sorry to hear about the issues you have experienced with your display resolution. We would love to help right away and have provided steps below that can help adjust your resolution through Windows 10.

      Setting the resolution in Windows 10:
      1. Close all open programs.
      2. You can either right click Start, and then click Control Panel or click on start and type Control Panel and click the icon that appears.
      3. In the Control Panel window, click System, and then click Display.
      4. Select the monitor you want to change, if more than one is connected to your PC.
      5. Click on the Resolution drop down box to see a list of recommended resolutions for that display.
      6. Click on the one you want, to change the screen resolution, and then click Apply.
      7. Click on keep changes if you want to keep the new settings. If not select revert.
      - Note: If new settings do not work, Windows® will attempt to revert back to the original settings automatically.
      8. Restart the computer to ensure that the changes stay in effect.

    The Dell S2421NX is kind of an odd monitor. The only ports it has are HDMI which is fine I guess, since there’s always an adapter if you only have DVI (or even VGA) out. It has an audio line out port but no speakers, which is again strange unless you are doing Bluetooth speakers or connecting speakers to your PC directly. The line out is only 2 channel anyways, so you’re really missing out if you decide you do want to run your high end stereo system out of the monitor instead of directly out of the PC. The IPS display is bright and crisp. 1920 x 1080 resolution, 16:9 aspect ratio. Sitting it next to my old monitor of the same size makes me realize how yellow everything looks on it compared to the new one. This is a perfectly serviceable monitor for hooking your laptop up to for your work-from-home station. The stand doesn’t raise or lower, it only tilts, but it does have a slot in it for cable management. The bezels on the monitor are tiny so buying a couple and sticking them next to each other would make it almost seem as though you had one really wide monitor. One minor annoyance is that the standby light pulses white instead of amber, so don’t place in a bedroom facing the bed.

    Very poorly made. Not even close to what the description on the box says. I cant even get thebpower cord to stay in correctly.

    WISH I COULD KEEP

    The customer service was great, but I did not keep the purchase due to the fact I did not have an HD port in the back of my computer, so it wasn't compatible.

    Wait until it’s on sale; Good secondary Monitor

    Using as a secondary monitor and it looks pretty good. Good build quality. Not overly bright but serves its purpose well. Got it on sale for about $100.

    Dell Monitor Bad After 2 Months - Don't Buy!

    I purchased this Dell monitor in January 2021. It worked fine but it began to blink on and off about a week ago and now continues to do so, no matter what is on the computer screen. It has become worthless. A waste of $200. And beyond the return date. I won't buy any Dell product again. I'm only giving it 2 stars because it looked so nice in the beginning. But it's junk now.

      Thank you for your feedback and review. We apologize for the issues you have come across with your monitor. We have provided steps that can be used to run a Self-Test on the monitor to help diagnose the issue.

      1. Power off the Dell laptop.
      2. Disconnect any external devices that are connected to the computer.
      3. Connect the AC adapter (charger) to the computer.
      4. Make sure that the LCD (screen) is clean (no dust particles on the surface of the screen).
      5. Press and hold the D key and power on the computer to enter LCD built-in self-test (BIST) mode.
      6. Continue to hold the D key, until you see color bars on the LCD (screen).
      -The screen displays multiple color bars and change colors to black, white, red, green, and blue.
      -Carefully inspect the screen for abnormalities.

    I have become more of a fan of the va and Tn screens than IP. But this was fine, just not for me. Not the contrast I was looking for.

      We appreciate you taking the time to leave us your review. We are sorry to hear that you are not too happy with your Dell S2421NX 24" monitor because its screen turned dark.
      Your monitor has a built-in diagnostic tool that helps you determine if any screen abnormality you experience is an inherent problem with your monitor, or with your computer and video card.

      To run the built-in diagnostics:

      1. Ensure that the screen is clean (no dust particles on the surface of the screen).
      2. Press and hold Button 4 for about 4 seconds until a pop-menu appears.
      3. Use Button 1 or Button 2 to select the diagnostic tool and use Button 3 to confirm. A gray test pattern appears at the beginning of the diagnostic program.
      4. Carefully inspect the screen for abnormalities.
      5. Press Button 1 again to change the test patterns.
      6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 to inspect the display in red, green, blue, black, white, and text screens.
      7. Press Button 1 to end the diagnostic program.

      If you do not detect any screen abnormalities upon using the built-in diagnostic tool, the monitor is functioning properly. Check the video card and computer.
