For my review of this Dell 24” Monitor – S2421NX I give it 4 out of 5 stars. This is an entry level HD (non-4K & non-HDR) monitor. It has a 4ms response time (closer to 1ms needed for gaming) but with the addition of FreeSync this will help with light gaming but most suited for general web searching and light business applications. I attempted to use this product as a work monitor for heavy Microsoft Excel use and found it lacking scale at 24” and crisp sharpness for long period of use and left my eyes feeling fatigued. Having the following key specifications: resolution of 1920 x 1080, 4ms response time, and 75Hz (above 60Hz) refresh rate make this a good entry level light-gaming general use monitor that is budget friendly at under $200. So, is this product future proof in how you grow with the use of your computing is up to you. My opinion, if you plan on getting into gaming, CAD, or desktop publishing applications in the near future you should not consider this monitor. Some features this product failed to deliver was the lack of a built in speaker, no ability to raise the monitor from its base (increase its height), and lastly the inability to turn the monitor into a portrait position versus its standard landscape position.

It worked for about two days. Nothing shows on the screen. I should have purchased an hp monitor.

This is a fantastic monitor with vivid colors. Easy setup, bezel is very small, tilt-able screen which works great for my desk space. Love it!

Purchased 10 days ago, monitor is totally dead won't power up anymore.

No frills, nothing fancy. This Dell monitor offers bright, bold colors, ultra clear views, and soft, flicker-free technology that won't strain your eyes. If you need a space-conscious, large view for your desktop experience or a second, larger screen for your laptop, the solution is a simple one with this 24" display. This Dell monitor is bright and sleek. It's fairly thin and very light, weighed down securely with the included stand. It is a cinch to set up, as the display need only be connected to the included power cord, HDMI cable, and slide-on stand. It is packed with minimal instruction given that it has very little to assemble. Once connected to your workstation and powered up, you're ready to go. With two HDMI ports, you can keep two devices connected without worrying about removing wires. The screen can tilt down to a slight degree on its stand, and it is VESA-compatible to be mounted as needed. The monitor is TUV-certified, meaning it has a feature which reduces blue light emissions. This is especially important for people who are in front of computer screens for hours at a time, be it work or play. It is noticeably easier on the eyes than my regular laptop screen after extended usage, and it comes with the added confidence that it is less damaging to the eyes in the long run. I personally use this monitor when moving my laptop to a work-from-home station at my house. It is much easier to work with the large 24" display through an eight-hour workday than on the 15" laptop screen. Add to it the clarity and confidence it brings, this monitor is a great display. Overall, this display is a great investment for your workstation, gaming center, or extended computer viewing area. Buy with confidence. Please note I am using two monitors at my workstation, one is this monitor and the other is not. Looks like I'll have to get another DELL to have a matching pair ! The monitor arrived well packed with unpacking and installation instructions on the box. Assembly of the base stand requires no tools and assembles quickly if you follow the pictures. Once the HDMI cable, which is included, is connected and the monitor is powered up my Windows 10 desktop ID'ed the monitor and provided a selection for this monitor to be a device for audio playback. It should be noted that I found no speakers in this monitor but an audio out jack is provided to connect to powered speakers. Seems odd that there are no internal speakers. There are two HDMI inputs and no other inputs. The monitor has a pleasantly thin bezel thus providing a clean look. The issue here is that the monitor can not be moved up or down vertically on its stand, not can it be tilted down. The monitor can only be tilted up. Not much help if the monitor is mounted on a shelf above your desk. The built in menu is very easy to use due to the fact that the button’s function is indicated on the screen. No trying to guess what each button does or have to look under the monitor to see a label. This was nicely done. Although not noted anywhere you can download the Dell Display Manager APP for windows. This is a neat APP that allows you to change settings based on manually selected preset modes, like watching movies, working on a document, gaming or it will change settings based on what APP you are using. Different modes appear to be changing color temperatures. Not sure if I would use it other than to change to movie mode. Another feature of the Display Manager is the ability to arrange open windows on the monitor. When a window is dragged onto the monitor it will snap into place based on what custom layout you have chosen. This will give you more choices than what is available natively in Windows 10. I will be using this feature to keep my open windows neatly arranged as I tend to have a busy workspace. I will not get into all the specs, which you can read, which may or not be helpful in making a decision regarding this monitor. Suffice to say this is a decent monitor for this price point and it has some nice flexibility when using the Display Manager. The colors are true, text is clean and sharp. Movies look great. All of this is based on the onboard video card in my desktop, nothing more. If I had a better video card I would most likely buy a better monitor. In my case this monitor is a great value and performs very well.

Product stopped functioning properly after several months.

The Dell - S2421NX 24" IPS LED FHD Monitor looks awesome on my desk. The very thin dark black bezel is almost unnoticeable just leaving you with a bright clear picture on your desktop. The setup was easy. Click the base into place and tighten it down. The screen doesn't move up or down but it's position is perfect for me. The bottom of the screen sits at about 5 inches off the desk and the center of the screen is at 11". Perfect for viewing the screen as a work display or watching a movie. The full HD picture is very clear. You can adjust the appearance of the screen with an on screen pop window which allows you to choose options like movie, comfort view and warm and cool lighting. There are 2 HDMI ports and the monitor does come with an 1 HDMI cord to hook up to your desktop or laptop. There is no built in speaker but for me that's not a deal breaker as I just use a Bluetooth speaker for my desktop. Overall it a great monitor.

This monitor is a perfect buy for working from home. The build quality is great and the pieces snap together quickly and sturdily if you want to use this with the included stand. It also includes a cover up plate for the VESA mounting holes should you not use it mounted. The 24' screen size is very generous. Even though I am used to working at a desk with two monitors, I have not felt a lack of screen real estate since transitioning to using this at home. There are other technical qualifications like reduced blue eye emissions that may fancy you--but this review is for the professional who just needs something that works. Please note that this screen ONLY has 2 HDMI hookups so you will need to purchase adapters to use any other hookup types.

This monitor is pretty much what you would expect from a 1080p HD everyday monitor. The color and resolution seem true and it seems to be responsive (video playback is clear and smooth with no noticeable drops). While a 24" screen may be a bit on the small side for today's standard, this is a good monitor for my college student. The monitor occupies limited space on his desk - particularly with the narrow frame ('invisible edges'). This should be a good basic monitor.

Needed a second, larger screen for work at home so this display is great. It was easy to set up and it's very sturdy considering the flimsiness of my desk. Great purchase.

Large monitor so you will have no trouble seeing what's on the screen. Purchased it on sale, so was happy with the price.

Love the new monitor!! It is a perfect size and has made working remotely comparable to being in the office!

Works just as I would have expected. I missed a few things prior to purchase but I'm not returning it. The monitor is FHD and not a higher resolution like the similar monitor I already had. Also be aware that the stand does not have a height adjustment, only tilt. I just stuck a couple books under it to be at a similar level, but wish it had built in height adjustment.

Very pleased with the quality. However does not include a speaker. My fault for not thoroughly checking it out. Great picture!

Very good monitor for all things like school and even gaming. There is some noticeable frame tearing when displaying very high speed things, like a blender in a baking video. Very easy setup and connectivity with a super-thin edge that is more than desirable. Colors are the perfect brightness at around 75 and aren't too dull.

I have used this monitor before and is the second one I purchased for another location.
