A real upgrade from my 12 year old monitor. It has two HDMI inputs so I can connect both my laptop and desktop to the display. The built in speakers save desktop space. It is small, but I really like to On/Off button on the backside lower right corner. So easy and convenient. Much better than the tiny power button on many displays

I just started a work from home job and this additional monitor has been a complete game changer. I had a few concerns with the compatibility considering that my company issued laptop is HP, however connecting it was a breeze.

This monitor has a very functional as well as a clean physical design, excellent specifications and very useful features. Although it cannot move up and down while on the stand, it does have a very smooth tilting capability that is fluid yet holds the monitor at the angle you set very firmly. I noticed right away the text on the screen was sharper than my other monitors although the spec’s were the same. The colors were brighter and very robust with no visible bleed-over between colors no matter how close I looked. I did run a color generator and was very pleased with the shade of each color – I included pictures of some of the color bar charts in this review. You can use the joystick on the back to select different color presets. These included Standard, Movie, 3 Game presets (FPS, RPS & RPG), Warm, Cool, and one customizable preset. I tried them all and each had its own virtues but the choice of video profile is more or less a personal preference. I use the Standard profile for normal computer work (I’m writing this review using the Standard profile). The Cool and Warm profiles are perfect if my eyes are a little tired. It’s great to have these easy to select as options via the rear joystick. There are speakers in this monitor. A real nice bonus at this price point. I was very surprised at the bass and vibrato reproduced in the Youtube videos I tested with. A tip of the cap to the Dell engineers for including excellent speakers. Also there are several audio profiles: Standard, Movie, Game, Music, Voice, and one customizable profile. I tried them all and liked Music best for me.   The setup was simple - essentially plug and play. With the video and audio profile selections, the speakers and a crisp/colorful display, this monitor is a real winner. I highly recommend it.

I usually buy monitors in black color because of the type of setup I have, however I find this monitor in white very nice. Its design is minimalist but effective. One of the things that makes this monitor a good option is its price. In the box comes the monitor, the power cord, an HDMI cable, a stand and base, a VESA cover, a cover to access the HDMI connection, a quick guide and some documentation. The monitor is easy to install, as soon as it is in its box you can start setting the monitor and stand. On the back it has two covers that give access to the HDMI 2 connection and the VESA configuration in case you need to install the monitor on the wall. The design seems a success as it facilitates cable management. It has an HDMI connection at the bottom of the monitor, on the back of the right side is the power button, below a small joystick to navigate in settings. In terms of performance, the colors look pretty good, in addition to having different types of color presets, the fact that it is a 100Hz refresh rate monitor makes the images look more fluid. One of the things that surprised me is the sound quality, it is loud and clear. The monitor is not heavy and is easy to place in different places. Despite being only a 1080p monitor at 100Hz refresh rate, it is a pretty good monitor, definitely taking into account the price and maybe some discount, it is a very good option, I can recommend it.

My wife tasked me with setting up a family calendar to be mounted on the wall in our kitchen. She also wanted to be able to check our surveillance cameras from this same monitor. I needed a display that was not too expensive, had a good picture, had at least two input ports, and could be wall mounted. I liked the clean lines and thin bezel of this Dell S2425H and the Ash White color goes with the white trim in our kitchen so this it what I chose. It has a VESA 100x100 mount pattern on the back to make wall mounting easy. For use on a desk it comes with a sturdy stand that allows the monitor to be tilted but does not swivel or adjust in height. For connections, there are two HDMI ports on the back, there are no other inputs so no Display Port or DVI ports on this one. The picture provides a 1920x1080 Full HD resolution and the colors are quite vivid. Since it’s an IPS panel it has a wide viewing angle and also has a glare reducing screen which should be great for my use case. I’m looking at running something like Magic Mirror on either a Raspberry Pi or a Windows stick computer. This monitor has speakers built in and the onscreen menu can be rotated to keep the menu options easily read whether it’s in landscape or portrait orientation. Note that only the menu rotates, if you need to rotate the screen image 90 degrees that will need to be done at your source.

This Dell 24” monitor has just the right features for my computer needs, including FHD resolution, HDMI outputs, and great audio. I contemplated getting the 24” or 27” monitor and ultimately chose the 24” model because it fits neatly between my computer tower and other equipment I have on my desk. It’s all meant to be a capture station, so I go between using a VCR and photo/document scanner. I do a little bit of video editing on this station as well and 1080p is perfectly suitable, not to mention the audio volume range is fantastic - it can get very loud. Monitor Design The sleek and thin design makes it fit just right on my not-so-spacious desk. The desk is long, but not very deep, so the Dell’s thin profile leaves a good amount of room for the keyboard and mouse in front of it. The white color matches my desk, so that’s nice. The power button and settings button are located on the back of the monitor so you just have to feel around on the bottom right side to access them. Screen & Audio Aside from the monitor’s nice design, the screen itself has great colors and it comes with different display settings, but honestly the default works just fine. As for the audio, the built-in speakers can get very loud so I keep the volume at a low percentage and still hear everything very well. For video work and leisure I don’t even go past 20%, if that. I tested at 90% with a movie trailer and it was plenty loud, you could hear it outside the room. Setting Up the Monitor Design & Setup I followed the quick start guide and used a table/desk ledge as instructed to install the stand mount, which has a D-ring already on it for assembly. It was all super easy to install and it requires no extra tools. The port/vesa covers on the back are also easy to remove again if needed. I appreciate that this bundle comes with an HDMI cable for an instant set up with my existing tower. I took my time moving my old monitor back to its original station to make way for the Dell monitor and I was up and running in about 15-20 minutes. I’ve been slowly building up this capture station and the monitor is one of the last pieces I needed. Overall The Dell S2425H has been the perfect puzzle piece for my video capture computer station. I have been very pleased with what this monitor has to offer. I run programs like Handbrake, OBS Studio, Premiere Pro, and Chrome - no major complaints on this unit, I'm very satisfied with the quality of this HDMI monitor. Critique I would like the stand mount to be taller so the screen could be placed higher up. If I wanted to adjust the height, I’d have to get a riser for the monitor or get a taller desk. I don’t think this critique warrants docking any stars.

​Monitor quality keeps improving. I come from the CRT monitor era. But I continue to evolve and I'm always looking for deals and better computer monitors. I'm a software developer. I use my different notebooks (8 Windows, 3 Apples) for different projects. I keep some with older OS's for testing, others for the differing software and hardware projects I'm working on. In most situations I prefer a multiple monitor setup, almost always having a 24-27" monitor next to the notebook I'm using (when I travel I have 2 USB portable monitors). I pretty much can't work without a second monitor. This Dell is light (6.88 lbs without stand), it has almost no bezel (allowing 2 to be used close together) and the colors are spectacular. I was surprised how vivid this monitor is. It supports a 100Hz refresh rate, which helps prevent eye strain. Its display is extremely steady, no flickering. It has a Anti-Glare / Matte screen which works extremely well; it benefits from improved 'ComfortView Plus', a built-in feature that reduces blue light emission to less than 35%. I thoroughly enjoyed watching videos on this display. The speakers are excellent; they include a custom setting that offers a 5 band equalizer (an unexpected benefit). The on screen setup for the display is fairly extensive (accessed via joystick on the lower back right of the monitor). This is strictly a 24", 1920x1080 HD monitor, it's not a 2K or 4K display. It does not support HDR (extended blackness, mostly having to do with video), yet its blacks are acceptable and its colors exceptionally vivid (almost matching the OLED of my notebook). The monitor stand offers only a tilt adjustment (no height, ​it can​'t be used in portrait mode with the ​stand provided. But it does have 4 VESA mounting holes (100x100) on the back (which is very flat) and Dell includes 2 "vanity" plates that makes the back look very clean, hiding wires/connectivity. The screen's matte finish offers almost no glare. I personally prefer this finish on my monitors. The screen can only be connected via HDMI (two HDMI 1.4 ports). This is not the highest performing monitor you could purchase, but for its price you get a very high quality product (great colors and a fast refresh rate). It makes a great extension monitor. The only thing I noticed was that it's black on some dark videos were not as precise as they could have been, but the color/contrast controls can improve this. But for day to day use it's a superb monitor. The shortcut keys are another bonus. But the power of the speakers truly blew me away; I was not expecting such great sound from a monitor in this price range.

The 24 inch S2425H monitor from Dell right out of its box looks great, it has a matte finish on the screen and the back as well as the frame looks professional due to its good looking color and finish. Most of our monitors are black but we do like the color and finish of this one more between white and gray. It is easy to assemble and get it to work; it only took a few minutes to put it together. I do like that it comes with two HDMI connections so I can use it with different devices. Another thing that I do like is the speakers, it does sound better than expected due to the 5 watt speakers. And to be able to switch between the modes, standard, movie, game, music, voice and customizable is also easy. It also comes with color presets, movie, FPS, RTS, RPG, Warm, Cool and custom. To do all the customization as well as switching audio and color presets its easy to do with the joystick that its right behind the monitor and can be reached from below too. Another big plus is the reduction of blue light, since we spend a long time during the day on the screen, I feel more comfortable now with this monitor. The refresh rate is 100Hz and I can tell the difference between the 60Hz that I had and this one. As for the colors, we can also tell the difference, I edit photos and videos and having good colors on the screen is a must and the Dell delivers. Something else I do not see but I know Dell has done with this monitor is include sustainable materials using some recycled materials and the packaging did not include hard plastic and it is recyclable. We do not need the security lock slot but it is nice to have one in case you need it. Overall it is a great Dell monitor, it offers awesome colors, contrast and sound. It easily can be viewed horizontally as well as vertically.
