Perfection
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is simply the best price-to-value monitor on the market right now. This monitor has an excellent display, integrated speakers with more than enough power, excellent color reproduction (except for deep blacks), a fast refresh rate, and two HDMI ports all for substantially less than what you would expect to pay. This is an easy recommendation for anyone (except for gamers). Colors look great on this monitor. Picture and color quality are excellent from every viewing angles. Blacks have a predictable greyish cast (i.e. you won't get the deep blacks you would on an OLED), but other than that color looks better in this 24" display than a comparably priced LCD tablet. Port access is more than adequate with 2 HDMI ports. One is "hidden," but still perfectly usable with another HDMI-connected device. Bezels are reasonably small. Not as small as in some models, but not as wide and distracting as in other monitors. The monitor has great build quality, too, and the white color of the chassis is nice (even though you won't be staring at the back too often!). The integrated speakers, even though not too powerful in terms of wattage, are great. Sound reproduction is as good as you'd get from a set of mid-priced standalone speakers, with good treble and midrange representation. No, the speakers don't get too loud, but if you want to wake the neighborhood with a deafening gaming session you should really purchase a professional set of speakers anyway. Menu access for monitor functions is pretty straightforward, too. There's a bit of a learning curve figuring out the subtleties of the sub menus, but this is standard practice for monitors. The key thing is that you get access to the sub menus you need to tweak the monitor to your liking, and this Dell monitor more than accomplishes this goal. I never thought of Dell as a monitor manufacturer to pay attention to, but this monitor, in terms of features and quality for price, simply blows the competition out of the water. Strongly, strongly recommended for the vast majority of computer users. The only prospective users who may want to look elsewhere are gamers, but gamers have particular needs when it comes to refresh rates and display output (e.g. 4K). For the overwhelming majority of us, a 1080p monitor with a 100 Hz refresh rate is more than ten ugh for what we need. Simply put, this is a steal. Get this monitor.

Dell 24” S2425H monitor packs a punch!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Dell S2425H Monitor has a clear HD picture with great stereo. The two 5W speakers on either side of the monitor are loud and clear. There are times when I need to lower the volume as to not blow me out of my chair. It has 2 HDMI ports and a 1920x1080 resolution screen. The Dell S2425H monitor is only an HD monitor. It is not capable of 2k or 4k. Also, it can only be adjusted forward or back, which limits the viewing positions on my desk. Unfortunately, the height cannot be adjusted. The screen itself has an antiglare coating which works great with overhead lighting. The Dell S2425H monitor comes with VESA or vanity covers (as I call them), that are installed on the back of the monitor to cover the cables and wires. They are not necessary, but they make the monitor look nicer and cleaner and they keep the cords out of the way. Setup was a breeze. Fortunately, the monitor comes with an HDMI cable. The Quick Start Guide is easy to follow, and it only took me a few minutes to set up. All I had to do was attach the stand (which is removable), plug in the power cord and HDMI cable and I was all set. It only took about 10 minutes to complete the setup. I have a 14” Dell laptop so this monitor is going to make it easier to see my spreadsheets, programming, and photo editing. The 5W speakers on either side of the monitor are clear and static free. I can hear any conversation clearly during meetings. They are also great for listening to my music while I’m working. I do have to keep the volume down as the speakers do tend to be a bit loud. A FEW SPECS - Comfort view plus-reduces blue light emissions to <=35% for eye comfort all day - Flicker Free - Adjustable forward and back (not height adjustable) - FHD (screen pixels) 1920x1080 for a HD only picture. - Built in dual 5W speakers for clear static free sound. - Vivid wide color range with up to 16.7 million displayed colors These are jus a few of the many positive aspects of the Dell S2425H 24” Monitor. CONCLUSION Overall, the Dell 24” Monitor is perfect for smaller spaces, videos, music, office programs, meetings, and any other visual aspects. I recommend this monitor to any that doesn’t have a lot of space but wants a superior picture and clear sound.

Beautifully designed monitor with surprising sound
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. In need of a no-frills monitor with colors that keep up with your browsing and multimedia and sound that rivals any speaker you were thinking of connecting to your PC? Look no further than Dell's S Series 24-inch entry that provides vibrant visuals, amazing acoustics, and minimal desktop real estate, if you're into that sort of thing. Aesthetically, the Dell S Series monitor has a sleek, modern look, featuring a thin bezel outlining a bright, colorful screen and a textured, curvy housing with cable management and dual HDMI ports. Its stand snaps in place quickly, and although I would prefer a heavier base, it does the job under minimal duress. The monitor settings are controlled using a simple, pressable joystick next to the power button located together at the back corner of the casing. It is a very intuitive and straightforward one-finger operation that makes setup or customization a cinch. The monitor is very easy on the eyes - literally, with reduced blue light emissions from its ComfortView Plus feature. The screen handles all types of video with a 100Hz refresh rate. Screen jitters were basically non-existent, with nothing but a smooth, pleasant visual experience. This monitor can tilt easily but does not have vertical adjustability, which isn't that big of a deal but it is notable if you need to adjust the height for your eye line. What stands out the most with this S Series monitor is its fully immersive audio quality and customizable audio profiles. Whether you're watching a movie, playing a game, or listening to music or podcasts, this monitor provides a rich, wide-ranging sound from two integrated 5W speakers that rival any external speaker options you may have. The Dell S Series 24-inch monitor will keep your desk clutter-free with its cable management, modern design, and amazing sound quality that will let you get rid of those big blocky external speakers. With a screen that is bright and pleasing to the eyes, it is a great option for work or home.

Great for daily computer work
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After using this Dell 24 inch monitor over the last week, I have found that it works perfectly for our needs. It was a breeze to get everything setup. I love the slim design and how it sits sturdy on the desk. The graphics are so good and bold. I do love that it has built in speakers because my other monitor doesnt so that makes everything easier for me. I have used this monitor for work, studying, browsing the internet, my childrens schoolwork, and my kids have used it to play roblox on. The speed of the system is great, no issues with lagging or freezing up. The graphics while my kids are gaming look amazing. The size of the monitor is a good size for us our needs. I mainly use it for their school work and my work needs over gaming so im not sure how well it handles up for hardcore gamers. For your daily average use of browsing the internet & my kids homeschool learning, the monitor is perfect for that. Overall, its a great monitor for us that gets the job done with clear graphics, great sound, and slim design that doesnt take up much room.

Surprisingly great speakers
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Now that my wife agreed that we did in fact need another monitor, I was able to get her to say yes to this Dell 24" FHD monitor. At first, I wasn't sure how it would look, since the triple-monitor mount that this new monitor will be sitting next to is all black filled with black monitors. However the white base blends in with my desk, the black bezel that the design retains appears to float next to the others in my setup, somehow making it no different, other than branding, than any of the other monitors on my desk. Sadly, the aesthetics of the molded white plastic on the back, stylized to evoke images of a serene zen pebble garden are wasted on its sole audience, the "ambient sensor" on the wall embedded into my home's smart thermostat. I usually use headphones or earbuds when using the computer, since I don't want to have to plug yet another thing in for a set of computer speakers, and usually the built in speakers on monitors are laughably bad, like trying to listen to radio playing in the background of the phone conversation you are having. But when my daughter asked if she could hear the game I was playing while testing out the monitor, I swapped the output device to the new monitor and was genuinely dazzled by the quality of the audio. These speakers are impressively loud. I had the media source volume on my mixer set all the way down to 9%, with a Youtube video set to 15% within the app, and with the monitor's own volume setting to 50%, and I could still easily hear the video over the sound of my washing machine. That's after I turned everything way down after accidentally blasting out the audio for the cooking video that I was uploading earlier. I do wish there was a separate set of buttons to control the volume directly in a pinch instead of the convoluted menu system that everyone loves to build into their monitors, but then again I'm already checking three separate sliders to figure out which one to turn down. The second hdmi slot on the back of the monitor is beneath a removable panel that looks to be just big enough to hide a raspberry pi or a streaming stick of some kind, while another panel covers up the attachment points if you want to use a VESA mount. I like that it comes with its own screws inserted, saves me from having to dig through the old bin of assorted computer parts. While not expressly billed as a gaming monitor, I was surprised to see that this monitor supports a 100hz refresh rate. It also has some blue light reduction capabilities (though since I started editing videos late in the evening, I have to turn this off to get accurate color). I'm pretty happy with this monitor. I like the floating effect from the white base and stand, and the audio is the best that I've ever experienced from built-in speakers on a monitor, especially a flat panel display. The stand does allow you to adjust the angle of the monitor up and down a little bit, 21° up or 5° down, but not side to side. I haven't decided yet whether this is going to stay where it is on my desk, or if it will be assimilated into the the mounting system, but it does look pretty nice where it is, and matches the white gaming handheld pc that I'm typing this from.

The sound will blow you away!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have to say, this one surprised me a little bit! I have a small PC that I use as a Plex movie server in my basement, and I had been looking for a new monitor for it. The one I previously had didn’t have speakers built into it so that is why I chose this one. Out of the box it’s a nice sleek looking monitor. Nothing too crazy, and I have to say I do like the ash white color as opposed to the standard black that 99% of the monitors in the world seem to be. It has a pretty basic setup. The monitor stand allows you to tilt the monitor up and down, but there is no side-to-side swivel or any way to raise or lower the screen. That’s not a big deal for my uses, but something to note that might be a problem for others. It has a matte screen so you won’t have to deal with any annoying reflections from lights or windows. This is a 1920x1080 LED IPS monitor with 100Hz refresh rate and a 8 millisecond response time. So, this isn’t a high-end gaming monitor by any means. But using it for a desktop monitor in your office or to watch movies and things on it will be perfect. While you can game on it, it might not give you the best experience like a higher end monitor would. I plugged this into my computer and fired up a movie just to see what it looked like, and it was at that second I have to say I was a little bit shocked. Not because of the video quality (which was fine) but because of the audio quality that was coming out of the speakers in this thing. While its not room shaking bass, it is still a million times better than your typical tinny audio that comes out of any other computer monitor I have ever seen. This kind of reminded me a good full size Bluetooth speaker. It had nice rich sound and not to a nice volume too. I think it sounded great for both movies and music. I guess when I was looking at this monitor I completely overlooked the part that said it was designed to have great sound quality, so I was definitely taken back when I first heard it. In the specs it says that it has dual 5 watt speakers and there are also different EQ settings you can use as well for thing like movies, music, voice, standard, and 1 user customizable setting. As far as the screen, I think it looks great. As I said before, this is a bit of a budget monitor, so you won’t see a lot of high-end features. But if you are looking for something for a home office or kids’ room or a secondary computer like I am using it for, I think it will be absolutely perfect! The added bonus is you won’t need to have a set of speakers cluttering up your desk because this monitor has an amazing set built right in! I can say I was pleasantly surprised by this monitor, and I think you will be too!

Good little budget multipurpose monitor
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Grabbed this to replace an aging TV I'd been using as a PC display and I couldn't be happier. The design language is attractive, it has some nice features, it's light weight enough for almost anyone to move around, and it's got some nice features. In the box you get the display, a tool-less stand that quickly assembles with thumb screws and clicks into place, a power cable, an hdmi cable, and some snap in panels to keep things looking nice on the back. Setup was quick and easy, and if you didn't immediately understand how to set it up there's a very nice, very large full color quick start guide. Honestly I was really impressed with the way this was packaged. One side of the box lifts up and the bottom unfolds to present you everything very neatly. At the end of the day it's not super important, but the way everything was so cleanly and efficiently laid out was great. Nice presentation. The main draw for this as a replacement was the built-in speakers, which you know are never great. EXCEPT that they are! Out of the box the speakers are turned to max volume which is legit painful to the ears. There are two buttons on the back right side of the monitor, a kind of indented power button and the OSD joystick. I hate the osd menu. Pressing up or down changes your brightness which is nice I guess, but a far more useful and practical function would be volume control. You have to press in on the joystick to open the OSD menu, scroll to the right, then press the joystick again to enter the volume adjustments. That's three inputs before you can change the volume. Terrible design IMO, but what are you going to do. There are plenty of other settings to mess with which, let's be real, you'll likely never touch. Not a fan of the way monitor settings are controlled. The display itself is fantastic. It's nice and bright, hits good contrast without being super washed out (for an IPS display, this isn't an OLED after all), and is great for productivity or day to day PC stuff. The 100hz refresh rate is nice. I've been using higher refresh rate displays exclusively for years now, and that extra 40hz makes everything just feel snappier and smoother. Good stuff. You could definitely game on this, but you're going to want to enable vsync to avoid any screen tearing since this doesn't have any form of VRR. This isn't an issue, that's not really what this monitor is for. The stand gets the job done. I'm a fan of the large square/rectangular footprint as I like to put my phone or other stuff under the monitor. It only features tilt adjustment though, no pivot or swivel, which again at this price point is normal. The back panel is made of plastic with a nice-looking grooved texture type thing going on. I like the look, but I just know dust is going to collect in there like mad. If the back of your monitor is visible and you're like me, you'll be cleaning the back of this thing very frequently - especially if you have a little dust generator (aka pets) in the house. The plastic itself feels a little flimsy, particularly the IO and VESA mount covers. Still I'm not mad. Exercise a tiny bit of care and you're not going to have any issues. Round back you get 2 hdmi ports which is nice if you have a second PC, console, or something else you'd like to use. It's convenient. But the real draw is ... THE SPEAKERS! They're great. I'm genuinely surprised at how good they are. Crisp audio without completely blown out high frequencies, and surprisingly rich on the lower freqs. Obviously they're not going to compete with high end external speakers, but I think they match if not exceed the quality of a lot of the cheaper external speakers on the market. I'm very impressed. Streaming video from your favorite services sounds great on this. The only issue is that you have to hit multiple key strokes on the joystick to adjust the volume. Terrible. You're better off using the software volume controls in whatever OS you're using, unless of course it's a console or something in which case you're boned and have to deal with the joystick. TLDR Overall, this is a great monitor as a primary display or as a secondary (or third or whatever). The image is great and has good color calibration out of the box, nothing crazy oversaturated which is pretty common. The specs claim 99% sRGB color gamut, but I can't speak to that. I don't have the hardware for that sort of testing calibration, but to my eye it looks great. The speakers are fantastic, though the controls leave much to be desired. You can even game on this if you want, though it's not the ideal monitor for the job. It's good. good for: productivity, gaming, content consumption

Good monitor with speakers
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Dell S2425H 24" IPS Monitor comes with a LED FHD 100Hz screen that supports HDMI. The monitor comes in an Ash White color. The products is well packaged in the box and is easy to install and setup. The stand pieces that have to be assembled are made of metal with a nice coating over the metal. It’s not made of cheap plastic like other monitors I’ve used. The monitor only supports HDMI and no other connection types. It comes with two HDMI ports, and HDMI 1 and HDMI 2. The HDMI port is located underneath the back part of the monitor. It’s quite difficult to plug the HDMI cable because the plus is recessed under a piece of trim. I have to lay the monitor down in order to plug the cable into the monitor. However, the HDMI 2 port is much easier. I’m able to clearly see it. It’s located behind a removable plastic panel that’s easy to snap on and snap off. The screen quality of the monitor is pretty good. It wasn’t as crips as I’d hope, but it’s doable. I was really looking forward to having a monitor with speakers. The speakers to me are pretty bad. It sounds like having a speaker inside an empty coke can. I’m also unable to control the volume using the volume keys on my MacBook keyboard since it appears Apple doesn’t support controlling such devices. I had to install a 3rd party app in order to control the volume. If not, the monitor would play at full volume with being able to be controlled by my MacBook. Overall, it’s decent monitor with having speakers as an added bonus.

Respectable Bargain
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Dell S2425H 24" IPS LED FHD 100Hz Monitor (HDMI) in Ash White is not just a respectable bargain, it's a smart investment. At the entry level price point, this monitor offers a solid purchase for anyone looking for value quality and affordability. Out of the box, the monitor is clean with a very minimalist aesthetic. The ash white finish gives off a very chic vibe and could complement any setup. The monitor is adorned with a thin bezel, and it works really well on this small display. The incorporation of a cable management system is a nice co-complement to the units' already minimalist attitude. To me, the most surprising attribute of this monitor was not the display but the built-in speakers. Traditionally, monitors at any price point are not known for their great sound, with some not even having internal speakers at all. I had to read up a bit on how this monitor is able to sound as well as it does, and it simply comes down to the power and acoustical design. To be fair and consistent where we have the monitor helps amplify the sound to some degree, but it is perfect for our needs without peripheral speakers. Very cool feature in my book, and honestly, where this monitor earned a five star review from me. As a display monitor, the monitor is what the monitor is… An entry level monitor that looks good, offers full HD, and has a good frame rate for “some” things. The picture is clear and did not require any real adjustments to achieve a great picture across the media formats we have used it in. I enjoyed scrolling daily, using the red app, watching sports, and watching movies, but I would only play selected video games. I play a lot of top tier games that need high resolution, millisecond response times, and high frame rates to really exploit the visual value of those titles. Again, that said, I am not the target audience, but my wife absolutely is. She has it on her desk and uses it for crafts, movies, reading, office work, and we all use it for a litany of other things. All in, this monitor is sleek and nicely balanced with a good picture display and great sound. I have to give this a thumbs up for style, price, and functionality.

Good for light gaming and every day use
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Opening up the box and setting up the monitor was easy and straightforward. I like the fact that the packaging opts for more sustainable paper and less plastic. The base connects to the stand with an easy to secure screw and then simply snaps into the monitor with a simple push and click. Not sure how easy it would be to loosen the plastic clips to remove the stand, but I’ll deal with that if needed in the future. The one mildly annoying thing was the cord keeper that snaps onto the stand is so easy to knock out of place if you grab the stand to pick up. For connectivity options you get 2 HDMI connections, one vertical and one horizontal. It might have been nice to have a display port in addition to or instead of a second HDMI for more options. The power button and control joystick are located on the bottom right of the backside, easy to find and use. I found the menus to be well laid out and intuitive. For control of some monitor settings from your PC you can download and install the Dell Display and Peripheral Manager application. For adjustment options you get a 21deg to 5deg tilt from back to front. There are no height or swivel adjustment options for this monitor. I also found the 2 plastic panels that snap on the back to be a strange design element. One hides the horizontal HDMI port and cable, the other covers up the VESA mount screw holes. They fit rather loosely and don’t seem to do that much for the aesthetics. For a semi budget monitor, you get great colors, good view angles, better than average 100Hz refresh and energy star low power consumption.
