Adequate Monitor With Some Big Flaws
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’m really bad about upgrading or replacing my computer monitor. In fact, I used the same off-brand monitor for almost a decade before a moving accident brought it to an early (overdue?) demise. Having the chance to review a Dell 27 Monitor I wasn’t sure what to expect as far as bells and whistles go but I was eager to find out. Inside the large pretty box the first thing you’ll find are two pieces of the monitor stand (base and “neck”), a quickstart guide, a pamphlet of warranty info, a plastic back panel, the power cable, and an HDMI cable. Under this top section is the monitor itself. Setup is simple and explained in the quickstart guide: mounting with VESA is an option and would negate using the stand pieces or you can pop the black plastic panel into the VESA mount area and use the monitor stand instead. I don’t mount my computer monitor so I snapped the panel into the back (its unnecessary but gives a more natural look by eliminating the open space where a mount would go) and then assembled the two stand pieces (the base screws into the “neck” using an integrated flip up silver wing that gives you a grip to finger tighten it without tools, very cool!). The stand snaps into the bottom of the monitor with ease and then you simply plug in your power cable and HDMI and that’s it! I have kids and “things” happen so I always give new self standing items a vigorous wobble to test balance and stability and the Dell 27 seems pretty solid despite the fairly small footprint of the stand, only time will tell for sure though. Let's start with the specs this monitor utilizes to do the job you might buy it to get. Size of the monitor is 24 inches wide by 14 inches tall and the base is 7.5 inches deep with a forward/backward tilt of a couple inches without any swivel left/right or height adjustment. It features two HDMI ports, the power cable port, and an audio cable socket on the back, as is standard. It’s listed as having a 75Hz refresh rate, full HD 1920x1080 resolution, 1000:1 contrast ratio, 300 cd/m^2 brightness, and a 4ms response time. This monitor has IPS tech and I looked from some pretty severe side angles and while you lose some image it's not bad. This also has AMD FreeSynch, where the monitor and the AMD graphics cards will work together and it auto adjusts for your gaming settings…I don’t have an AMD card so I can’t speak to this. I will say that Dell did not include a built-in speaker for this monitor, so you will NEED an external speaker to hear anything…which is a big downside for me. Looking at the specs I found the size to be a nice big monitor without being crazy and having two ports is plenty for what I’d need it for. As a gamer and movie buff I’d prefer to have a 4K display typically but the full HD on display here is adequate for most tasks, it's just not as future proof as other options may be on the market. While the brightness is more than necessary for a typically lit room and the 4ms response is good for gaming (I don’t recall any of my friends having anything lower than 4ms, so I don’t have anything to compare it to though), the contrast ratio is lacking severely. At a glance I can see some budget TVs with contrast in the 3000:1, 4000:1, or higher in similar sizes or even larger. Should you buy this monitor or not? Comes down to what you want to use it for since the contrast and FHD make it a poor choice for gaming despite the response time being pretty good. However if you’re just trying to watch YouTube and do some basic office tasks then you’ll find the Dell 27 monitor to be an attractive option to consider. As a budget savvy parent who wants the best, most, and cheapest I wouldn’t write this one off but it wouldn’t be in my top three options I’d be considering.

Stylish Everyday Monitor
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Dell - S2721NX 27" IPS LED FHD is a good everyday monitor. Its no frills, minimalist design looks perfect in an office setting, but the S2721NX has just enough of a gaming skillset to be a nice option for those who game a bit on the side. I think Dell put together a solid monitor for the student, light gamer, home office worker, or someone who wants to dock their laptop at home at the end of the day. It’s simple to use and is good at it what it does. For those reasons, I recommend it to anyone looking for an everyday monitor. Unboxing: Inside the box you get the monitor, the stand, a VESA mount cover, and a standard power cable. I’m so glad to see that this monitor didn’t have a huge AC adapter that would take up extra space on a power strip. In terms of connections, you have dual HDMI ports and a headphone out jack. There is no Display Port input. The monitor comes with an HDMI cable in the box. Experience: Out of the box, I was impressed. Color reproduction looks good. One of the first things I did, was download the monitor driver from Dell’s website. A simple google search for S2721NX driver should get you to the right location. Just make sure you are downloading the driver directly from Dell. Installing the driver will make sure your monitor is using the correct color profile. I like the stand. It supports tilt adjustments forward or back. I put it back a bit to ease any potential eye strain. I wish the stand supported left / right swivel, but the tilt adjustment is a nice touch. There’s a minimalism to the design of the bezel and the stand that goes well with the rest of my setup. If you choose, you could hookup a VESA 100 mm x 100 mm compatible mount instead. But again, I liked the stand that came with the monitor. It sits just high enough off the desk and didn’t wobble as I typed. The 27” screen fits a sweet spot for filling desk space without feeling “too big”. It’s not what I would consider to be a “gaming” monitor. But its 75hz refresh rate looks good. The 4MS response time is good enough for gaming. I used the S2721NX 27” with an AMD graphics card and Freesync has been a nice addition to the monitor. Freesync is AMD’s adaptive synchronization tech designed to keep the video card playback and the monitor in sync. It’s designed to minimize screen tearing and stuttering. It has multiple uses, but I tend to think of it in terms of its gaming applications. Video playback has been rich and colorful. The colors on the IPS display really pop. There is no HDR, but video playback still looked good. In my experience, color uniformity was good and light bleed was very minimal. The tilt and comfort view features have helped minimize eye strain. Conclusion: I think this is a good everyday / mainstream monitor. I’m digging the minimalist design. The dual HDMI inputs mean I could hook a Nintendo Switch or laptop up to the display in addition to the work computer. This isn’t a full featured gaming monitor with speakers, 4K resolution, HDR, 1MS response time, or 240hz refresh rate, but it doesn’t have to be. It’s good at what it does, and it looks good while doing it. At this size, with this color reproduction, and with this refresh rate, I think this is a good monitor. I’ve been impressed with it. It’s been exactly what I needed for my home office PC and I can easily recommend it. 5/5

Solid Dell Performance.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am a hard core gamer/computer user. I am on the computer for the entire day and for many hours at a time. Hybrid work from home and just the demand these days requires a nice monitor that does not strain your eyes is just standard these days. Setup. Setup was a snap. 2 HDMI ports to toggle between sources is nice. I wished it had Display Port option as well. Used VESA mounts to put on my mounting arms and I was up and running. Monitor came with HDMI cord and VESA screws and power plug and base support. Took all but 5 mins and I was up and running. Bottom button to select menu and other options was easy. This Dell screen is really nice. Size is great. Nice wide screen ability. I played my go to game and the rendering was great. No hesitation buffering or shadowing issues. Response was good no latency. Graphics quality is really good. I streamed 4K flawlessly. I streamed 8K just fine too. No problems. No latency issues. Dell has always been a solid performing product. I use their latitude laptop from work and I own an Alienware laptop and one of their desktops too. Would highly recommend this product. Nice job Dell.

Solid All-In-One monitor
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The S2721NX 27" is a very nice monitor for what it is meant to be, a multi purpose general use monitor. The controls are easy enough and labeled well. I'm used to the wheel-style button which exists on many other monitors and TVs these days but I appreciate the deliberate presses required to change settings on the monitor. It is also nice having the power button lit on the bottom right corner as it provides a nice ambiance during hours of use at night without the light on. I found the monitor needed very minimal picture adjustment right out of the box but I like to tweak it such that I have an appropriate brightness when the sun comes in directly, vs. when it goes down. Controls are well-labeled and placed on the monitor and do not take away from its elegance. The color and picture quality is excellent. I use it to work on and review spreadsheets, powerpoint presentations for technical and marketing purposes and it is superb. Additionally, the screen size is really nice as I do configure applications for use and it's nice to have the real estate available to see the controls, workflows and workbooks either larger or more of them when scaled down. While this monitor is a FHD (1920x1080p) resolution, because of the size, you are able to scale down larger spreadsheets or contracts and still see them well, which is all I need. The 75Hz option is nice but if you're not playing games or producing videos, this is not going to give you much added performance you recognize. The 2 HDMI inputs are also great as I have connect my work laptop to the first set and my desktop to the other set. Be careful to ensure your computer is able to handle the resolution of your selected monitors if you go above FDH (1920x1080p) resolution. I stuck with this because my work laptop was not able to handle 2k (2048x1080p) or 4k (3840x2160p) for 2 monitors simultaneously, though my personal laptop can. Since I participate in many remote meetings where I'm presenting or others are, I prefer having 1 screen dedicated to sharing or seeing their presentation while having other monitors available for researching questions, taking notes, etc. Again, if my work laptop was able to support 2k or 4k resolution as my personal laptop is, I would've gone with one of those resolutions for this size monitor to prevent having to scale things down but I needed to account for the lowest common denominator. My experience with Dell monitors has been excellent over the years and I have no doubt this one will perform just as well. I am very happy with this purchase/performance and anyone looking for a business monitor without need for extended graphic art, art/video production or gaming ability, you'll be very happy with this monitor.

Dell S2721NX Reviw
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve been using the Dell S2721NX for a few weeks now, and overall, I’m very impressed with its performance and value for the price. Here’s what stands out: Pros: 1. Great Display Quality: The IPS panel delivers vibrant colors and sharp details. The 1080p resolution on a 27” screen works well for general use, though if you’re sitting very close, you might notice the pixels a bit more. 2. Smooth Performance: With FreeSync, gaming feels fluid and responsive, even with fast-paced games. There’s no screen tearing or noticeable lag. 3. Modern Design: The sleek, minimalistic design with slim bezels looks great on my desk. It’s lightweight and easy to set up. 4. Eye Comfort: The anti-glare coating and ComfortView feature reduce eye strain during long work sessions. Cons: 1. Limited Adjustability: The stand only allows for tilt adjustment—there’s no height adjustment or swivel. If ergonomics are important, you might need to invest in a monitor arm. 2. Average Speakers: While the monitor has built-in speakers, they’re not very loud or detailed. I recommend external speakers or headphones for better sound quality. 3. 1080p at 27”: For users used to higher resolutions, the pixel density might not feel as crisp, especially for professional photo or video editing. Final Thoughts: This monitor is a fantastic choice for casual gaming, general productivity, or streaming. It’s not a high-end display, but for the price, it delivers excellent value. Just be prepared to make some ergonomic adjustments or pair it with better audio equipment if needed. Would I recommend it? Absolutely—especially if you’re looking for an affordable, stylish monitor with solid performance.

High-Quality Monitor
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm very impressed with the performance of this monitor. The thin bevels don't take away any real estate from the screen, which means I can have both of my monitors close together for a near fluid transition from one to the other. The frame rate has been more than sufficient for what I use it for (mainly work) and the VESA setup made it a breeze to mount. While I don't use it in my application, the stand looked sturdy and easy to attach. Overall, I love this monitor and would recommend it.

Decent everyday use monitor
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.good general use monitor. Minimal bezel that gives a clean look. Arm stand has a cut out for cleaner cable management. Basic controls for settings. They give a good range as far as adjustment goes. I've got a lot of natural light coming in where it was sitting for testing and then where it'll eventually live once i sort my desk out, and the anti glare does a great job of making sure i can still see the display. Set up is really easy and there are no tools required. Just snap the arm in and the base has a twist screw with a ring to tighten it in. Up and down tilt is great range. would be nice if there was a height adjustment to lift/lower. Since i will mostly use this with my laptop, i tend to put the monitor as flat to the table top as i can so it can be more in line with my laptop screen. my work set up is similar. For those that prefer higher up, you won't have an issue, worst case, there's always the tried and true stack of blank paper. I wish the base was a bit more stable as well. I'm a restless leg sitter, so the monitor wobbles a bit on its regular base. i imagine it may not be as bad or an issue at all if i had it mounted to a desk arm. Supports 2 HDMI connections, so if you're jumping between multiple devices thats handy. There's no display port, so if you rely on that, you'd likely need an adapter. Came with a standard power cord and HDMI cord. It looks and feels like a solid cable. Much thicker than you'd expect to come as an accessory. Watching video is good enough. If i want something cinematic and 4k crisp, i'll watch my TV, but this is more than enough to pop a youtube video in the corner of the screen and work on the rest of it. for the work from home or student work space, this is a good choice. more than enough real estate to view all your applications, but don't go expecting the world. it'll get the job done assuming the job isn't hard core gaming.

Nice Full HD monitor.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The packaging this comes in is nice and shows what’s inside which i like and I needed another 27” monitor to complete my setup. This fit the bill for the most part except once I received the monitor and unboxed it i realized that it does not adjust up and down and only has an HDMI port. No display port which is disappointing to say the least as that is what i was hoping to use. I was able to get it setup regardless and it looks pretty good next to my other two. The refresh rate is 75hz which is fine as this is not the gaming monitor just a chat monitor and also used for internet surfing. Being Full HD is not the best but will work for my needs and also will not tax my GPU. Colors looks good, nice contrast and good color accuracy. There are 7 color presets and one that allows custom settings. The bezels are small and being black they tend to blend in. The base is not overly large and fits nicely on my desk without taking up a lot of space needed for other things which is a huge plus. I can recommend this monitor but not if you’re not using it for gaming. The refresh rate is to slow. Otherwise good bang for the buck.

Sleek Design, Vibrant Colors, and Smooth Performan
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been using the Dell S2721NX for a few weeks now, and it's been a fantastic upgrade to my setup. The 27-inch IPS display delivers stunning color accuracy and sharpness—whether I'm working on spreadsheets, watching content, or doing some light photo editing, everything looks crisp and vibrant. The slim bezels give it a modern, clean look, and it blends well in a home office or entertainment setup. I also appreciate the matte anti-glare screen, which helps cut down on reflections during the day. What surprised me most is the FreeSync support. I wasn't expecting much gaming-wise from a monitor in this price range, but paired with my AMD graphics card, games run smoothly with no screen tearing. The 75Hz refresh rate is a nice step up from standard 60Hz and helps with fluidity across the board. Setup was a breeze—plug and play via HDMI. My only real gripe is the stand; it’s fixed tilt, so there’s no height adjustment. Not a dealbreaker, but I added a monitor riser for better ergonomics.

||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It is a large monitor with a decent resolution. Large Gorgeous Monitor for Desktop Usage.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For using this monitor on a desk, this is the perfect size and has great color and brightness. This monitor is very close to edgeless as possible and you will feel immersed in using this screen. I mounted mine on a swivel arm and it is great to swing around a 27" beast. Having two HDMI inputs allows you to use two sources on this monitor and can be switched easily. This is not a 4k monitor but you are getting decent refresh rate and size for a quarter of the cost of a 4K monitor and for all intensive purposes FHD is just fine. Playing games such as Call of Duty and Fortnite is no problem on this monitor and does not exhibit any type of lag whatsoever. I would recommend that if you get this monitor to invest in a swivel arm because the base is very limited in height adjustability. You can only tilt the monitor up and down. The base is probably the only weak point of the monitor but if you invest in a swivel arm, you will not be disappointed. For the regular weekend gamer and majority worker, this monitor is an excellent value. I'm sure if you are a serious gamer who streams on Twitch or Youtube, you may want to spring for a 4k monitor, but I think the majority of households will use this monitor and never look back on what it is lacking.
