I purchased a Dell - Slim Desktop - Intel Core Ultra 7 265 2025 computer and am very pleased with it so far. I received advise from two IT professionals I know and they advised this would be a good desktop for me. It is working very well and I am now compliant with Windows 11 which is perfect.

    Very Good Basic Computer

I agree with the descriptions of this nice little machine that appear just before this review. But, I emphasize the sense that this is a basic, well-powered, computer that will do small business and personal needs very well. It's quite quick after taking some time to boot; its accessability menu is welcome. Its typical keyboard is okay and feels normal in touch. The price is right, and even better whenever it's on sale.

Dell desktop computer with Windows 11

My old Dell has Windows 10 (11 years old)and was becoming obsolete and slow. The new Dell is exceedingly quick, but difficult to find saved documents compared to my older Dell. I'm buying user manuals to try and reeducate my understanding of how Windows 11 operates.

This is a hard item to review fairly. I bought it based on the Black Friday price and especially the specs as provided by Dell - that despite its SFF size and onboard M-series SSD, there were also provisions for an added 3.5" internal disk drive. (A 4 GB internal drive is essential for my daily work with giant documents and graphics files.) This was misleading advertising on the part of Dell. No second drive slot is accessible: a separate $45 bracket is needed to suspend a second drive over the unused airspace next to the fan. A custom power cable is also required to connect to the one and only spare drive power socket on the motherboard. The bracket and cable are NOT available through commercial sources, and can only be ordered directly from Dell international through a personal or business account. BestBuy was not at fault here - their techs spent a lot of time at the store with me later confirming the missing bracket and trying to locate a source. (We also confirmed that the tower-sized version in the store was also supplied without internal brackets or cables.) Dell gets the big black marks here for this skimpy design and their faulty advertising. A close inspection also revealed the additional lack of other drive cable power or accessory connectors - limited, perhaps, by a suspiciously anemic 180 W power supply. In the end, I never plugged in the computer or turned it on. I assume it ran as well as other people have found it, but it cannot be considered readily expandable beyond its off-the-shelf configuration. (More memory, perhaps.) I returned the unused unit with no hassle and decided to build my own machine. Is it a bad purchase? I don't think so, but it certainly didn't live up to my expectations or its own manufacturer advertising. This computer seems to be sturdily built and would likely be fine for basic student or ordinary household needs, but only if the user is satisfied with the power and features of the shelf-ready version. I gave it 3 stars to indicate its probable suitability for some uses, but do not recommend it for the user who does not understand the baked-in limitations. This long after Black Friday (mid-January), I suspect that the market cost will have dropped below $695.00.

I was hesitant to replace my 10-year-old PC, since it was working fine, but it was a Win10 machine that could not be updated to Win11. This PC fit the bill very nicely. it was pretty easy to move everything to the new PC also since i bought a portable hard drive for backup anyway. The 1 GB is plenty of storage for me, but I do take a separate hard drive and occasionally back the PC (and then store that in a safe in case of fire). Overall, it was not too hard to transfer, the PC is fast and reasonably priced. everything i needed for a replacement.

Set up quick and does what i want it to do. The only issue I had was with Microsoft OneDrive. It seems when you set up a new computer everything defaults to Onedrive which I don't like.
