Windows 11 does not appear to be compatible with any of the software I use regularly.

I have really been enjoying the Dell Tower Plus EBT2250 Desktop over the course of the last few weeks. Typically I have used a gaming laptop with a monitor between normal workflow, content viewing and gaming. Through the last few weeks, I think I am going to replace the laptop with this desktop. While the size of the desktop is mid range it is tall and long (kind of reminds me of the size of a desktop from a decade ago...but that really is not a bad thing. It has an incredible amount of ports, which is actually fantastic, especially since this computer targets powerhouse users. The desktop is also incredibly quiet and fast. while doing my normal work flow, I was able to run reports substantially faster then my laptop and the fans never kicked on (if they did then I did not hear them). Playing video games on this thing is virtually the same as they ran flawlessly. The only thing I would say for gaming is I wish they changed the GPU with a 5070 or 5080, even if that meant increasing the price. While the GPU handles games well the remaining specs (Core Ultra 7 and 32GB of RAM) are practically begging to be pushed to the limits and I think certain graphically intense games may be missed out). Frankly, in my opinion this desktop is worth the price of admission, but, there is one thing that is very disappointing....charging $1,500 is not an abnormal ask for high end computers, including a mouse and keyboard is also something that not everyone does (thinking of a major competitor to dell)...but including very cheap non bluetooth keyboards and mouse is disappointing. I have to recommend this to anyone in need of a really good computer. It certainly is a well made product.

I got this PC to replace the one I built over a decade ago to sit in my TV cabinet. The first thing I did when I took it out of the box was to take the side off, hoping that there was room to put in the 3.5" hard drives from my old PC full of my old media. I was pleasantly surprised to find two open bays, complete with sliders and pre-routed cables. There was also an open slot for another M.2 hard drive, which will come in handy. After putting the side back on and booting up and running all the updates, I ran 3D Mark's Time Spy benchmark and got a score of 13500, which it said was on the higher end for the hardware. If I get tired of sitting at my desk and want to play PC games in my living room, I can play just about any recent game in FHD on this rig. In addition to the games, the RTX 5060 video card helps out with transcoding video on the fly, which is great for streaming video. I won't have any CPU bottlenecks either with the i7 Ultra running the show. Doing some light video editing is a breeze, without having to wait forever for the output to render. On the front, there are 3 USB ports and 1 USB-C, a headphone jack, and an SD card slot, which I find really handy for dumping photos and videos from my cameras. On the rear, there's an S/PDIF optical out to connect to my stereo system and a Thunderbolt 4, in addition to the usual stuff like 4 USB 3.2 Type-A ports and a pair of USB 2.0's for devices that get wonky with 3.2, like the dongle for my wireless game controller. If I didn't have a serious need to replace my home theater / server PC, my daughter would have probably insisted on having it be hers, and I would not have hesitated as it would mean that I get my handheld gaming PC back, which she prefers to use over her own non-gaming laptop that was meant for schoolwork. Even though it isn't billed as a gaming PC, it has some serious chops, especially if you are sticking to more traditional resolutions like 1920x1080. As an office drone, I'd be thrilled to have something like this at work, the 32 GB of RAM would let me absolutely crush the huge spreadsheets and databases that I have to churn on the daily. The fact that it isn't a gaming PC means I don't have to mess with any RGB lighting that would be distracting when sitting in my entertainment center.

Overall, this Dell - Tower Plus EBT2250 is a great all around performer. It can certainly handle any normal day to day workloads (office, internet, media work is a breeze) and as the power to do a lot more when needed - with a powerful Intel Core Ultra 7 CPU, 32GB of fast DDR5 RAM and a 1TB SSD - AND a Nvidia GeForce RTX 5060 GPU (with 8GB of it's own VRAM), you can edit photos/videos, develop the next great app or even play games with relative ease. Gaming performance will likely be best at 1080p / high detail settings, perhaps with some of Nvidia's AI boosts (DLSS / Frame Gen) turned on, at least in the latest games. Indies and older titles can easily be cranked up to the maximum settings. Ports are one area where OEM PCs have historically lacked, but this PC does well in that area with front USB-C AND a rear Thunderbolt port for lots of expansion along with fast USB-A ports, HDMI / DisplayPort (make sure you use the HDMI on the GPU card vs the one on the motherboard for best performance) and a 25 gig ethernet port. Of course Wifi and Bluetooth is built in. Opening the tower you find some odd choices with your powerful hardware. The motherboard is a non-standard form factor and the power feeds to the motherboard are also non-standard, meaning the case/motherboard/power supply are all locked to Dell. You can upgrade the RAM - it will take up to 2 total sticks of DDR5 and out of the box you get a single stick of 32GB (so you can add a second 32GB stick if you like) - single channel does leave some performance on the table here. Storage is a single 2230 sized (another odd choice to have a smaller drive when you have space / accomodations for a larger one) NVMe drive, but there's space for upgrading to a full 2280 size of up to 8TB (and adding a second 2280 drive as well, so you could have 16TB of NVMe storage here). There are also two 3.5" SATA drive bays pre-wired for data and power if you want to add a spinning hard drive or two. The case IS easy to open which is nice to see. So there you have it. A desktop that is - despite some odd choices in internals that might limit future upgrades - a strong performer and ready for just about anything you could throw at it. Give it a try today!

As has been the case with the last several Dell PC’s I’ve owned, the Tower Plus EBT2250 doesn’t disappoint. It has enough horsepower to handily run games but doesn’t have that (imo) overbearing gamer look. It has plenty of USB-A ports on the rear to connect your ‘always there’ peripherals. Two USB-A’s and one USB-C up front for the extras that come and go. Personally, I’d prefer two USB-C and one USB-A, but that’s definitely not a deal breaker. It also has an SD slot up front, which one could argue should be swapped out for a micro-SD slot. Bloatware is minimal, limited to McAfee and a couple of Dell applications. McAfee was quickly removed, but the Dell applications pretty much stay out of your way. Dell SupportAssist is actually pretty good for a manufacturer support application. Doesn’t nag but makes it easy to keep your drivers up to date. The inside is nice and tidy, and has plenty of room for expansion with two prewired HDD slots at the top of the case. No trouble running Flight Sim 2020 at higher settings. I’m not even sure I heard the fans really spin up much. If they did, they’re pretty darn quiet. Overall, this is an excellent machine and I’m happy that I got another Dell!

Speed is great, but capacity could become a bottleneck over time. Cooling & Noise: Mostly Chill, Occasionally Loud Air cooling does the job well, keeping temps in check even during demanding tasks. But when the system’s under load, the front fan can get a bit vocal. It’s not unbearable, but if you’re sensitive to noise, you’ll notice it. Still, the trade-off is worth it: stable performance and safe operating temps. Just make sure the case has good airflow and give it a dusting now and then. Ports & Peripherals: Plenty of Options, Some Misses Connectivity is one of this desktop’s strengths. There’s a generous selection of ports—USBs, video outputs, and more—so hooking up your gear is easy. The bundled keyboard and mouse, though? Meh. They feel like placeholders. If you care about comfort or precision, plan to upgrade. A good set of peripherals will make a big difference in your day-to-day experience. Final Verdict: A Well-Rounded Workhorse The Dell Tower Plus EBT2250 isn’t trying to be a bleeding-edge gaming rig or a workstation beast. But for most users—especially those dabbling in AI, gaming, and productivity—it hits a sweet spot. It’s fast, flexible, and thoughtfully designed. The Dell Tower Plus EBT2250 Desktop is a little powerhouse! Setup is pretty straightforward for new desktop devices these days—you only need an internet connection and a Microsoft email account (Hotmail, Outlook, Live, etc.). Moving on from an older Dell all-in-one touchscreen was simple, as transferring files to the new machine was quick and easy. Once everything was up and running, I tested a few games on Steam. If you’ve seen some of my other reviews, you know I do a lot of gaming on laptops, so I was excited to see how this desktop compared. The performance gap between the two is definitely noticeable. The EBT2250 ran flawlessly, even with several graphically intensive games. Lighting, textures, and all those high and ultra settings looked fantastic, and games ran smoothly locked at 120Hz. Beyond gaming, I also use this desktop for construction and design software. I haven’t encountered any issues running CAD programs or Photoshop—everything performs very well. Overall, this is a fantastic personal computer with plenty of room to upgrade over time. There’s a lot of value and a lot to love in this desktop PC!

Dell did good with this gaming computer. Performance, features and connectivity are all great. I'm mostly a gamer but, sometimes, I also do video edits. The performance of this thing is really good. The processor makes easy work of anything I have thrown at it. I am able to do all my tasks, stream, download, browse the web and more, with ease. No issues with running slow or glitching whatsoever. The more demanding tasks, such as gaming and my edits, are also done with ease. The graphics card combined with the processor make a an excellent gaming experience. I play some pretty demanding triple A games and, ley me tell you, the run super smooth and I am able to pretty much max out the graphics and resolution. First person shooters and wonderfully responsive and RPGs look fantastic. I have this paired with a 32 inch QHD monitor and just wow. My gaming has been step up. I also, use this desktop for my media needs such as movies, tv shows and music. There are a couple things I am not a fan of. One, the style is very bland for a gaming PC. I'd prefer something flashy with lots of RGB lighting. Second, is the AI abilities. For me, the AI is useless for what I use this PC for but I do feel it has future potential. Overall, this PC is a great machine, especially when paired with good accessories.

While this looks like an unassuming work PC, inside contains a beast. No, it’s not going to be pumping out native 4k 60fps on extremely intensive games like Battlefield 6 or Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. But if you’re doing 1080p or even 1440p gaming with these intense games, you’re going to have a great time. Even with slightly less demanding games like Skate, I was hitting 80fps avg at 4k 240hz High settings. I am greatly impressed and think if you are a gamer on a low to mid-sized budget and are wanting a system that can be pushed a little further than great 1080p gaming, this is the one for you! Temps are staying low across the board when gaming for longer periods of time or playing more intensive games. Even when playing Clair Obscure at 1440p High settings, fans stayed quiet and temps looked great staying well within the acceptable range. This was especially true when I set the PC to Dell Ultra Performance in the Dell app. See below for a more detailed breakdown of the data. If you’re going to be doing any serious gaming, or even general productivity, you’re going to immediately recycle those (at your local Best Buy). The bloatware is better than the old days of Dell computers but it’s still pretty prevalent unfortunately. Especially with the forced McAfee security software installation on initial setup. Those are small hiccups to a fantastic PC. And for someone like me who finds traditional gaming hardware design gauche and annoying, the simplicity of the case is appreciated. Paired with the performance under the hood, you have a fantastic option if this is your budget.

The EBT2250 has decent specs making it more than capable for productivity. The Intel Core Ultra 265 with 32GB of DDR5-5600 ram and adding the RTX-5060 GPU gives you enough power for almost any task. I was able to run Autocad and Navisworks with ease. I also dropped in my 3D modeling software that I use for 3D printing along with Lightburn for laser engraving and the apps ran flawlessly. The 1TB SSD is enough for office use and there is a spare NVME slot to add more storage if needed. Not to mention there are two drive cages and cables that support standard 3.5" hard disk drives, giving you more than plenty available storage space. There are plenty of I/O ports both front and rear so you should have no problem plugging in all your peripherals. One thing about the Core Ultra CPUs is the fans needed to cool them provide a quiet working environment. Super quiet under normal use. But can it game? Well... sorta. While the specs are decent enough for productivity tasks they fall a bit short for gaming. You shouldn't be buying this desktop if your main focus is gaming. There are plenty of other options out there for about the same price. For me, the single 32GB DDR5-5600 memory stick wasn't that suitable for AAA games, where dual channel is typically preferred. For testing purposes I took a 32GB pair (2 x 16) of DDR5-6000 memory sticks and dropped them in place of the single stick and I did see noticeable improvement in gaming performance. I populated the spare NVME slot with a 1TB SSD for more storage but now I'm pushing what the intended purpose of the desktop is. The RTX-5060 GPU is okay for most games but you need to tweak the resolution and graphics detail to get decent frame rates and reduce stuttering. The Intel Core Ultra 265's focus is productivity and AI so to game you'd be better off getting something like an i7 14 gen CPU. While the Core Ultras are less wattage and the stock Intel CPU cooler is more than adequate for productivity a cooler upgrade might help some. You would easily spend several hundred dollars upgrading this desktop for a suitable gaming rig but I'd rather get a decent gaming rig and use it for productivity. Most gaming systems have better specs and you should be able to get something for a comparable price. One last thing to note is that since it's a Dell the motherboard and power supply are proprietary so it limits your upgradable components to CPU, GPU, memory and storage. To wrap up, definitely 2 thumbs up for a quality productivity desktop. At the price point I'd give this a 8 out of 10. For gaming, not so much, maybe a 5 out of 10. Recommending to a friend would only come if productivity is all this would be used for. Great for CAD, office suite, crunching massive spreadsheets, this a solid contender. Maybe even a better buy if you can catch it on sale.

If you are looking for an absolute powerhouse when it comes to getting tasks done, look no further than this Dell tower! I do a lot of labor intensive tasks that require fast computing power. I edit and process a lot of content such as 4K videos and different photos. I produce podcasts as well. I haven't found anything that this tower can't handle. I really like the design. It's very modern and sleek. I also like that it has a large amount of USB ports on the front and back. You'll never run out of places to plug in your devices! It also has WIFI built in. Now, let's talk about the graphics card. This thing comes packed with a NVIDIA graphics card that is absolutely LOADED with ports for multiple monitors. I currently have a HDMI connected monitor and a Display Port connected monitor plugged in, but it has ports for several more. The tower comes with a wired mouse and a wired keyboard. Wireless options for this would have been nice, however that is not a deal breaker by any means. From gaming to productivity, this Dell can handle it all!

This desktop computer is ok but could of been better. The reason why I docked it 2 stars is because it's 2025 going into 2026 and Dell is still cheaping out and only including 1 stick of memory. Granted it's 32GB and there's a slot for one more so that's nice but should of done 2x16 GB sticks of memory if they wanted to add 32GB for this model. Otherwise this computer is fine for what it is. A workstation pre built machine. Yes you can make it cheaper but for a lot of people they rather have it built and for some rather have a warranty for the machine and get it fixed that way instead of figuring out what's wrong with it. Specs: Intel core ultra 7 265 32GB single channel RAM 1TB SSD Nividia 5060 8GB VRAM That being said this machine is made for professional use not gaming but it does have a 5060 in it and for 1080P gaming this computer is decent. The 8GB of VRAM will be your limiting factor. But as I said it's not for gaming and primarily is for stuff like photo editing and video editing to name some use cases and from my unprofessional use of photo shop it did it fine
