This laptop is truly stunning! I would rate it 5 stars if it weren't for the battery life. 5-6 hours is pretty disapointing but understandable given the size of the machine. I'm also still trying to get used to the keyboard. While taking online typing speed tests, I find myself accidentally hitting the caps lock key instead of 'A' from time to time. Otherwise though, I love the tactile feel of the switches and the dishing of the keys. The screen is stunning, but it does come at the cost of even more battery life with the OLED model. If maximizing battery life is at the top of your list, the OLED model is probably not the one for you. It's a shame that Dell doesnt offer a FHD OLED display because 3.5K is pretty overkill on a 13" display anyway. Im also not in love with the port selection, but I've become accustomed to dongles at this point. The build quality of this laptop is top notch and if you want a Windows machine that competes with Apple's offerings, look no further. The rigid CNC aluminum chassis, the glass haptic trackpad, the beautiful display.. if it weren't for the battery, it would be hands down a Macbook air killer. Other than that though, this laptop is an engineering marvel and it LOOKS like the future.

This is a beast of a 13" the power of the 12 core processor inside something so small is very impressive. Battery life is ok around 6 hours. But she charges right up real fast! I have experienced the previous 9310 model and this version is even better with the new layout! super nice and clean! If you need more memory for for this model as it is not upgradable. But you can also upgrade to a bigger storage if need be. Maybe build a custom one through dell with 32gb and smaller SSD and upgrade to a bigger SSD later if you want to save a few bucks!

A Wonderful Product Plagued by Bad QA and Battery

I bought an open box XPS 13 Plus from Best Buy about a week ago with a nearly $600 discount before they were pulled from store shelves and haven't quite had enough time to put it through the wringer but still think that I should share my thoughts. The display is beautiful the processor is fast, and the design makes all other laptops look outdated. This little laptop is a powerhouse, I can quite easily work within a SolidWorks assembly of over 300 parts with ease. Pro/E and NX run nicely too. The display is gorgeous, however, I am terrified of OLED burn-in, especially because I do not like to hide the taskbar. The design is next to none, and as an engineering student, I appreciate how small yet powerful it is. I cannot quite justify the bulk of a 15-inch laptop so this was a perfect compromise. The keyboard is the best that I have felt on any laptop and the capacitive function row does not bother me at all. In my opinion, I prefer the trackpad to a MacBook but the animations in Windows when swiping around are chunky and incredibly unpolished (Microsoft get it together). The haptics in the trackpad stop working occasionally but I have submitted a support ticket to Dell so hopefully, it will get resolved shortly with firmware. The only gripe I have had with this product is the battery life. It is abysmal. Doing basic web browsing and note-taking at 40% brightness I get about 4 hours of screen on time. I have optimized my note-taking application with a pure black background and white text (OLED screens save power when the display is black). For reference, my physics class is 3 hours alone. This is unacceptable however I do believe that an external battery bank would do the trick. I have also seen a host of QA problems online however they do seem to be configuration specific. Many have had excessive heat issues, poor screen adhesive, and stuttering when consuming content. I have not had any of these issues except for the above-mentioned ones but your mileage may vary. Hopefully, these QA issues will get resolved and this product will receive a long, well-supported life. Now would I recommend this? It depends on what you are looking for. If raw CPU power and portability are what you need, it is a fantastic option. If you cannot handle the abysmal battery life do not get it. If you enjoy being an early adopter and don't mind a couple of bugs you will be fine. If you value absolute stability, do not get it. Will I be keeping this product even though it seems that BestBuy has initiated a recall? Yes, probably. I can only see myself returning it for a new one if the newer production lots have fixed the battery life.

***** 5-Star Review: Dell XPS 13 Plus OLED Touch-Screen Laptop *****
I am beyond thrilled with my purchase of the Dell XPS 13 Plus OLED Touch-Screen Laptop! This sleek and powerful machine has exceeded all my expectations, providing me with an unparalleled computing experience that is sure to leave any tech enthusiast impressed.
First and foremost, the design of this laptop is simply stunning. The black color gives it a sophisticated and professional look, while the slim and compact form factor makes it incredibly portable. The attention to detail is evident in every aspect, from the premium materials used to the precision-engineered build, making the XPS 13 Plus a true work of art.
The OLED touch-screen display is nothing short of breathtaking. The 13.4-inch screen boasts vibrant colors, deep blacks, and incredible clarity. Whether I'm watching movies, editing photos, or working on creative projects, the visual experience is immersive and captivating. The touch functionality is responsive and intuitive, adding a new dimension to how I interact with my laptop.
Performance-wise, the 12th Gen Intel Evo i7 processor paired with 32GB of memory and a 1TB SSD is an absolute powerhouse. This laptop handles multitasking with ease, and even the most demanding applications run smoothly without any lag. The fast SSD storage ensures that my files load quickly, and the ample memory allows me to run multiple applications simultaneously without a hitch.
The battery life of the XPS 13 Plus is impressive, lasting me through long workdays and even entertainment sessions. Dell's intelligent power management ensures that I get the most out of each charge, so I can focus on my tasks without worrying about finding a power outlet constantly.
I must also commend Dell for the outstanding keyboard and trackpad on this laptop. The keyboard offers a comfortable typing experience with excellent key travel and responsiveness, while the spacious trackpad is precise and smooth, making navigation a joy.
Dell has truly thought of everything when it comes to connectivity options. The XPS 13 Plus features a variety of ports, including Thunderbolt 4, USB-C, and a microSD card reader, ensuring I can connect all my peripherals without any hassle.
Additionally, the audio quality on this laptop is surprisingly good. The stereo speakers deliver clear and well-balanced sound, whether I'm listening to music, watching videos, or participating in video conferences.
In conclusion, the Dell XPS 13 Plus OLED Touch-Screen Laptop is a top-tier device that embodies excellence in design, performance, and functionality. It's the perfect companion for both productivity and entertainment, and I couldn't be happier with my purchase. If you're in the market for a premium laptop that ticks all the boxes, look no further than the Dell XPS 13 Plus. It's a true masterpiece in the world of laptops, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone seeking the best computing experience available.

First - The buying process and delivery has been a cake walk. Thanks to BestBuy internal processes.
Now about the laptop.
Pros: As expected its sleek and light weight. Easy to carry along in your backpack without breaking your back. Awesome display, my model was OLED though. Visually it's stunning. It was for my wife who predominantly works on Excel, Word and a browser. So we haven't got a chance to test it processing power when it comes to data crunching, data processing etc., (my model - 32GB RAM & 1 TB storage). So I may come back in a few months when we do to update this review. But so far I am very happy with the laptop.
Cons:
The only down side I have seen is that it gets super hot while charging specially when the battery percentage is less than 20.

Pros (design | performance | display | speakers | keyboard):
- Looks fantastic! Love the lightweight design! Love the clean minimalist look. Touchpad looks and feels great.
- Surprisingly fast and snappy, even on battery. Best implementation of i7-1260p so far in terms of performance and form factor(?).
- Display is excellent! OLED 3.5K touchscreen? Yes, please! You can lower the resolution to 1920 x 1200 with a 125% - 150% scaling and you'll still get a fantastic resolution.
- Speakers sound great! Best I've heard on a Windows laptop this size!
- Comfortable and quiet keyboard with decent key travel.
Cons (touchpad, touchpad, touchpad, touchpad, battery):
- Touchpad haptic feedback will randomly stop working
- Delayed clicks and haptic feedback
- Accidental clicks. It will start highlighting everything on the screen. Can be extremely frustrating at times.
- Double clicks when you expect only single!!!
- Battery life is only okay. Probably thanks to "Intel 7 lithography" which is actually 10nm tech!
*All drivers are up to date, including BIOS. Late 2022 production XPS 13 Plus, activated in Jan 2023. I also had to replace the fans last month.
Since I mostly use it with a USB-C dock with an external mouse, I can live with these cons.

Hello There Gabe, Thank you for taking the time to leave us your review. We are sorry to hear that you are having touchpad sensitivity issues in regards to your Dell XPS 13 plus. This is certainly not the experience that we like to hear from our customers. We will share your concern with our quality team so that improvements can be made to our current and future products and services. Below I have provided troubleshooting instructions with the full article that may be able to resolve the issue.
Here are the steps to help resolve your touchpad issue: 1. Ensure the touchpad and your finger do not have any dirt, grease, liquids, or food on them (the touchpad has to make good contact with your finger to work correctly). 2. Ensure that the touchpad is turned on. 3. Save any data, close any open programs and restart the computer by using a wired USB mouse (if available) or Bluetooth mouse if it is already installed, if not, press hold the power button for at least 15 seconds to turn the computer off. 4. Unplug everything except the power cable. 5. Turn the computer back on and retest the touchpad. 6. When the cursor does work correctly, attach one device at a time, and test the cursor movement to see which one may have caused the issue. 7. Ensure that the BIOS and Chipset drivers are updated to the latest version.
If you continue to experience touchpad issues, please reach out to Dell Support directly by using the information provided below. This is a great, futuristic-looking laptop. Has a very bright and beautiful OLED screen with a 16:10 aspect ratio. The new keyboard layout is better than expected and a joy to type on. The boundary-less trackpad is amazing and a great innovation.
Sadly, the batter lasts only around 7-8 hours when watching YouTube continuously at 50% brightness, wifi and battery saver on, and bluetooth and background apps off. This is unacceptable for a lightweight travel laptop. Other major downer is the laptop does not support pen input. If battery life is not important to you then this is an outstanding laptop.

Traded in my Macbook 14 for this beast!

I had purchased a Macbook 14 base model and it worked for me very well, but I noticed it was a tad heavy for constantly moving from office to office (meetings) and kind of annoying that it did not have a touch screen for easier presentations.
I decided to pick up the XPS 13 and was blown away by the OLED screen, touch functionality, the macbook like feel and look, and the overall weight. This thing is light! I know my main complaint here is weight and I also realize there is the Macbook Air (both the M1 and M2), but the performance is not as good as the one on this 12th Gen 12 i-7 1260P with 32GBs and 1TB. Well, in some scenarios the M2 does perform a bit better in single core tests, but overall based on my research the XPS 13 Plus was the clear winner. Another issue with the comparison is that the OLED screen only gives the XPS 13 6-8ish hours of battery life, but come on who in a professional setting does not have multiple chargers or religiously takes their computer charger in their bag? I personally carry around the laptop's charger plus a Ugreen Nexode 100w Charger. Be responsible people, we are adults here after all.
For ports, there are only two Thunderbolt 4 which are located one on each side. For this beauty you will have to utilize a dongle, I use a Ugreen USB C Docking Station that covers my needs (DP, HDMI, 3.5mm Headphone jack, and extra ports for other items I may need).
Display, like previously mentioned, is what sealed the deal for me. It has tiny bezels, touch screen, oled 4k (though it is limited to 60hz I still believe it is an outstanding screen), and it is also pretty bright at 400nits and 500HDR.
The keyboard is a bit weird and needs some getting used to, but it is amazing once you get used to it. I was able to get into my regular typing speed in a few hours. The functions keys look pretty cool, though it also takes a bit to get used to, function very well. I did have trouble locating the power button, but that was my mistake, as it is located to the right of the backspace key. Now for the touch pad, this thing is ridiculous! In a good way. You can use the whole bottom (palm) portion as a touchpad and it will work, again takes a while to get used to, but AMAZING. Overall I love the tactile feel of the keyboard, I prefer it over the Macbook 14.
Last note, I also love that I can go in and change the storage in this device, I will be upgrading it to a Corsair 4TB stick soon.
Overall I would recommend this beauty to anyone who wants the "Macbook feel" and does not want to buy a Macbook, values performance, a great display, is a Windows user, and likes to stand out a bit. Lets face it this thing is a bit weird! I'm all about weird and love to get questions on my PC.

I've been using it for over a week now with no issues. The design is so slick, the picture is glossy perfect, colors are so vivid, I spend hours to use it for my software development work, great performance too. Having OLED makes to watch online streaming movies. The size is just perfect portability. The keyboard is flawless, so is the trackpad. I love it.

This is a laptop with great looking and great functionalities. I had it for two weeks and used daily without any issue, except it sometime could get quite warm or hot (not gaming and excessive workload), confirms some similar complains from other users. Additionally, the battery life is not very impressive, so need to prepare an external battery bank if needed to work without pluged. Overall, I do recommend it.
