Performance wise- its an utter beast. Even the modest options per Dell's site- the screen clarity and resolution is still great and latency is very good. Under load, it can keep up, but it gets incredibly loud. This is both when editing video, doing some lite fusion360 work, or gaming. The large chassis helps with cooling, but please note- this is not the average laptop or even the average large laptop- this is very much a desktop replacement level laptop. Its crazy heavy- it can get loud and hot, but it can take a beating usage-wise. Pro tip- the custom F1 key can be used for overclocking. Even with it off- the unit can get pretty hot after prolonged use. Its recommended that a custom fan curve be used along with setting CPU and GPU usage via power plan's advanced settings. Its still very good stock, but leveraging some settings will get you the most out of this beast. Also, get it registered and utilize any of premium support benefits available while you have it- its included with the cost.
Price wise- its VERY expensive. If you want the most bang for your buck, you don't want to tweak anything, you don't plan on utilizing Dell's extra benefits or supports- You're losing value and its just going to seem overpriced with no justification.

Another superior Dell

Dell never disappoints when it comes to laptops, and this XPS model is yet another testimony to their superiority.
Like previous Dell laptops, this is my first XPS model - the top of the heap, and everything about it is top quality and of elegant design.
I was happy to find a barely-visible webcam. It took so little space that at first, I didn’t even realize it was there.
The fingerprint reader is a nice little bonus. I typically have a lot of trouble with these things reading my fingerprints, but this one does quite well.
The only disappointments were the lack of a numeric keypad (which I couldn’t really expect on this size model), and the USB port availability. There are three USB-C ports total. I’m a little irritated that the industry seems to think that everyone is ready to replace all their USB devices and cables with this new type. Sure, the standard makes them all high-speed, but sometimes (such as in the case of a wireless mouse) the speed isn’t of any use. Also, two of the three ports can be used as the power supply connector. Nice, but that still sucks up a port. It was a kindness that they included an adaptor (see attached) to allow for a USB-A and HDMI device, but again, that sucks up a port.
The sound is pretty impressive, especially for a laptop, but I would still opt for headphones for most listening.
The SD card reader is good, as I use SD cards for a variety of things. It isn’t compatible with the gazillion other card formats, but I admit I haven’t used any of those other formats in over a decade, so no marks down for that.
The performance is incredible! This thing just screams. With its a TEN-core CPU and SSD, there isn’t a lot of waiting for anything to happen.
There is a QR code to scan for the “mydell mobile” app. The link didn’t work, so I had to search for it. I’ve yet to see how this will “maximize my Dell experience.”

Great Laptop

So far this laptop has been doing a great in completing much of the light and heavy work I have done. The computer is slim and somewhat light. The battery life is great as well where I usually get 8-12 hours with the laptop. However, it does get a bit hot after prolong usage. The FHD+ screen is okay, but I don't mind it since I think it can give you a longer battery life. With the 3050ti and 12th gen Core I7, this laptop is able to multitask many applications. I do wish that they have added more ports in the computer and not just give an adapter.
Overall, this laptop has been pretty great and will likely keep up with my work for a few years.

This laptop had a vertical line on screen when booted for the first time out of box. Seems like Dell XPS has quality control issues. Had to return it.

I like this Pc a lot. I got it for my business to better submit invoices handle accounts run excel and adobe. This thing runs flawlessly. Bought as an oven box item from last years model and it is nowhere near being outdated. The i7 12700k processor has plenty of power and speed and holds a dozen tabs on web browsing and when I click excel and adobe they load almost instantly. Startup takes less than a minute. I don’t plan on gaming but I feel it would run most games well with the integrated graphics, (but definitely is not meant to be a graphics heavy computer so it wouldn’t have the best scene renderings) all in all I’m very happy with my purchase and would recommend the XPS15 to anyone who needs a school or Microsoft powerhouse.

I love my laptop! I’ve had it now for 2 years and it’s still going strong. Battery life is great! I love that it’s streamlined and not bulky. I take my laptop in many trips and work events. The only downside is that if I need to a TV for display purposes it does not connect via Bluetooth. You do need a USB A extender to the USB C drive and the HDMI cord. Other than that it’s fantastic!!

great computer, beautiful screen, can handle anything I throw at it within reason. Its built very very well, and is a very high quality laptop.
The only reason I didnt give it 5 stars is the battery life, which seems to be below what its advertised for. And it can get a bit warm on the lap after a bit, but for someone who sits at a desk, and doesnt need all day battery life, this laptop is hard to beat

Upon purchasing the Dell XPS 15 at Best Buy, one immediate standout was the impressive 15.6-inch built-in monitor. I didn't truly grasp its generous size in-store, but at home, it's clear how expansive the display is, especially given the compact dimensions of the laptop when closed. It's an optimal screen for enjoying multimedia presentations, gaming, or simply diving into a good movie.
Functionality is another high point. The equipped GPU has allowed me to tap into advanced software features that were previously inaccessible on other laptops, even some of those I had at work. This capability is not just a boon for my leisure pursuits, but it also opens up avenues for me to work on additional projects with a professional edge.
Whether it's for gaming, multimedia enjoyment, or taking on an extra project, the Dell XPS 15 delivers both in terms of performance and pleasure. As I transition into my retirement phase, this laptop strikes the perfect balance, offering me a blend of work and play. I'm genuinely pleased with this purchase and commend Best Buy for providing this stellar product
P.S. Your Add photos feature is broken, every attempt has failed.

I ordered an open box xps and it looked brand new. There were no signs of usage and it was packaged as of it had never been opened. As for the laptop, it’s a regular dell xps laptop. Edges are sharp and not that comfortable to for arms to rest on the edges. Keyboard is responsive and the screen is pretty good. Webcam is average but it still amazes me how dell was able to squeeze in the webcam in such thin bezels. Build quality is great and there is no to minimum flex. Fans don’t turn up loud and laptop never gets hot. All in all a great device.

Fairly solid windows laptop. A little heavy considering the size and specs of the machine. This machine does throttle if you game for a little too long however. FHD screen is noticeably more pixelated than the 3.5k OLED version, but it's nice that it's also a matte screen.
Battery life wise it always claims to have around 10 hours of battery per full charge, but the real world usage is closer to 7-8 hours. RAM and SSD are fully upgradeable and the trackpad is also very large and satisfying to use.

This is a great machine. Set-up was a breeze, and everything works as described so far. I do wish it had a USB 3.0 port, but all laptops are moving away from them. It does come with a USB C dongle that has a USB 3.0 and HDMI port, so that helps. The laptop itself runs lightning fast and smooth. The display is absolutely gorgeous - now I just need to splurge on two upgraded monitors to take full advantage of that! I've had no issues so far, and will update this review if I ever do.
