Near perfect
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The artic white version I have is an eye-catching laptop with first-class build quality. The packaging also attests that this machine is made to complete with the best PC laptops and Macbooks. The outer box suspends and protects the interior white box without any foam or non-recyclable materials. The box holding the laptop has a magnetic flap to open. Inside and out it’s clean, white, and minimalist. My unit has Dell’s stunning OLED screen that is perfect for video work or streaming HDR 4K video. It’s actually 3.5K with slightly less measured brightness than the top LCD screen, but the contrast and pure blacks of the OLED technology more than makeup for this. In addition, it has by far the best speakers of any laptop I have ever used or owned. The twin woofers add richness and provide some actual bass. Together with the up-firing tweeters, they provide an enveloping presence and stereo separation that is beyond what you expect from a portable. The all-white keyboard has a great touch. I found that you need the backlighting off during the day or it gets hard to see the characters (white on white). However, without the lighting, the black letters on white keys are very easy to see and use. There’s plenty of computing power with an 11th generation I7 processor, 16 GB of RAM, and a wicked fast 1TB NVMe drive. XPS laptops are not built to be gamers, but that power paired with a 4 GB GeForce RTX 3050 Ti graphics card lets it handle all but the most demanding gaming. You will need to keep the resolution at 1080p to have decent frame rates on some high-end games. It’s also expandable having two M2 drive slots (one open) and both memory cards are replaceable allowing a maximum capacity of 64 GB of ram. When you’re pushing things, it still stays fairly quiet but can get fairly warm … hotter than I want on my lap. For connectivity, there’s Killer WIFI 6, Bluetooth 5, one USB 3.2 Gen2, and two Thunderbolt 4 ports. All the ports use a USB C connection. There is no USB Type-A connector, but Dell includes a dongle that gives one Type-A and an HDMI port. I wish they had included at least one Type-A connector for small thumb drives and keyboard/mouse dongles. A dongle in a dongle is just awkward. The 130 W charger can be connected to any of the three Type C ports. Lastly, there is a full-size SD card reader and a combo audio jack. It’s very versatile and will work with about any type of device, drive, or docking station. The only issues I’ve encountered are some jumpiness when using my Logitech MX mouse on Bluetooth, and one small manufacturing defect or break on the left front corner of the fiber carbon interior. These are comparatively minor, but not what you’d expect with a flagship product at this price. My final thoughts are that this is a near-perfect laptop. It’s packed full of top-end hardware. It’s a beautiful machine. I would have quickly given it a 5-star rating if it were not for the issues mentioned.

Best laptop in my life!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have owned dozens of laptop computers through the years and this by far is the best I have ever had the pleasure to use, hands down. I try to find constructive criticism when I review products in the hopes that the manufacturer might improve on the product in the next generation, but I can honestly say that in this case, I wouldn't change a thing! The OLED screen is amazing; the crispness of the colors, the resolution, the mere 1/8th inch border between the edge of the viewable image and the edge of the screen itself. The stereo sound from this is the best I have ever heard in a laptop, both in terms of volume and sound quality. The fingerprint reader built into the power button works flawlessly. The touchpad is large (6 x 3.5 inches) and responsive. The keys are backlit and comfortable to type on. The computer itself is a work of art and very sturdy. The hinge is heavy duty and the screen stays exactly where you put it. The performance of the computer is world class. Battery life has been fantastic, I used it for a few hours and did not run into issues I have had with other laptops where the battery life indicator falls precipitously. And then after shutting the lid and coming back to it a couple days later, it had no noticeable decrease in battery life. As you can see, even my very finicky cat approves of the computer. I've included unboxing photos and a screen shot from a youtube video. I give this premium laptop my highest recommendation; it's a computer you'll be proud to own and make your friends and family jealous.

Great specs laptop but not great as it is
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a nice computer with a lot of specs interesting. Very nice OLED display. However, I have to return it because it running too hot. The RTX 3050 Ti was really not good for game on laptop. Battery also not great, I got about 5 hours max with normal use. I really hate the white keyboard, see nothing to type on it (black maybe better choice).

Great laptop.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this laptop. The screen, the speakers, and the speed are all excellent. I also really like the matte white interior. Battery life is just so-so. The biggest negative is there isn't a very good option for using a wireless mouse. There is no USB-A port. And USB-C mice options are very limited. Anyway, I got a crazy good deal on an open box option and I'm really happy with the laptop.

BEST COMPUTER XPS
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. What a great computer, this thing is amazing. The only problem I have is that the touchpad is so big sometimes when I type the mouse clicks somewhere and sometimes the touchpad doesn't respond well but I think that could be a software issue or just my computer. I say this because it was working spectacular for the first week and then started to freeze and do other weird things. At one point the mouse wouldn't work at all and I had to go to microsoft to get software and do some tricks to fix everything. Software is always an issue when dealing with Windows but this is a beautiful and powerful computer that can handle Discord, Epic, Steam, Games, 50+ tabs on multiple windows with multiple web browsers up, bluetooth connections and VLC player running. The fan does come on quite a bit and I would suggest getting an external fan. The speakers are improved from previous models and the computer itself is just incredible. It can handle most loads of CPU and RAM taxing programs. I personally put this up there as the best computer I have had, EVER.

Ferrari with a flat tire?
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Well, I am going to try and skip some of the things that most people know about the Dell XPS 15. Let's go over them really quick so that if you don't know you feel in the loop. The screen - Absolutely amazing on this model. OLED is super bright and offers nearly perfect contrast. That with these thin bezels and 16:10 aspect ratio make this display may be the best user experience on a laptop? Probably. It is pretty much perfect. The Build Quality - Again, almost perfect. One-piece milled aluminum body and carbon fiber deck are superb. IO is a little lacking, but all 3 USB-C ports are thunderbolts, so that helps. The full-size SD card reader is a bonus too and reads super fast. Keyboard - Almost perfect. A tiny bit squishy, but that is getting really picky. Good travel and the full-size layout feels great. Not quite a Surface or Lenovo keyboard in my opinion, but really good. Battery - Awesome. For the hardware, the computer handles it great. Battery lasts about 4-5 hours if you are doing demanding tasks like photo editing or gaming. I have gotten about 9 with the screen on about 70% brightness and just doing casual emailing and excelling. Trackpad - Not perfect. It really is a shame, but it is the truth. Although the trackpad is massive and offers great tracking, the truth of the tactile click is that it hinders the whole experience. I hate to say it, but it made me consider returning my XPS 15. The force required to click the trackpad in for a tactile bump is about twice of a normal laptop, and will almost certainly result in some infuriating missed clicks. Not to mention that the travel at the bottom of the trackpad is very long, and the pressure required to click the trackpad in on top is probably about 5 pounds. no joke. It is a shame about the trackpad, but that really is the only thing about this laptop that holds it back. If you can overlook the suboptimal trackpad click then this thing is a winner through and through. It being so close to perfect is what makes it so infuriating. It feels like having a Ferrari with a flat tire. Please let me know if you found this review helpful. Thanks!

The Best Laptop I've Ever Used
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Simply put, this is the best laptop I've ever used. I don't have too much to say in any given category, given nearly all of it is as close to perfect as I've ever experienced: The keyboard is the best I've ever used on a laptop, the palm rest is the most comfortable I've ever used as well, and the trackpad is the best that I've seen on a Windows machine. The build quality is phenomenal, and though it may make the laptop a little heavy, it is still very well manageable, and still much lighter than any sort of large gaming laptop. The performance is excellent as well, and while the GPU may not be the strongest option, it performs exactly how I would want a laptop to in my experience. The battery life could be better, however, I have found it not to impair my use of the device whatsoever, especially considering the many options for dark modes on laptops and apps, which will significantly improve the battery life of the computer given the OLED screen. Be sure to look for QC issues should you purchase the device, as issues such as wobbly trackpads have been very well documented, though I should note that I have not experienced such issues. While it definitely isn't cheap, this was absolutely worth it, and I simply have not ever used a better laptop computer.

OLED display with MINIMAL screendoor effect
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Most powerful laptop I have ever had. Oled DOES NOT HAVE THE ANOYING SCREENDOOR EFFECT of HP . battery life can be really bad depending on what you are doing. If you want to get 10 hours in word or browsing , try not to watch youtube videos and use dark theme . In word also use a dark theme .The high resolution is a game changer

Dell XPS 15
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop is a beauty!! The MacBook of windows machines. The screen is beautiful, keyboard is great, and the dedicated 3050ti is awesome. Great, if you're lucky and don't need a lot of GPU
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's the ideal Windows laptop...except for a few things. My unit came with a fault touch pad, and then had multiple dead pixels on its OLED panel within a few weeks. POOR battery life. Cooling is an issue. There is no way to manually increase fan speed except through the vague suggestion that is the settings within the Dell Power Manger app. Even on the "cool" profile, the laptop get very warm without kicking up the fans. I assume this is because Dell doesn't want any fan noise, but I DO NOT CARE at all if my laptop is getting way too hot to keep on my lap (even with the vents clear). The GPU vRAM is inadequate. It's 2021, and 4GB of vRAM on a 3.5K 16:10 OLED is not cutting it for me. For the money, just get the new MacBook Pro if you can live without Windows. Otherwise, I would wait until Intel releases their newest 12th generation Core mobile processors. This thing gets HOT and has poor battery life.

Overrated plastic computer.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pros: OLED screen has great color and sharpness. Not very accurate, but very nice to look at. Keyboard is very pleasant to use. Narrow bezels are good looking. Cons: Battery life is not the best. Within 4 hours of work use, it is down to 20%. The computer also runs relatively hot. Out of the box, the display would black out when coming out of sleep mode - this was fixed with updated drivers. The top plate is plastic and feels that way. The trackpad rattles and double clicks on one corner - this was the deal breaker for me. Relatively heavy for what feels like a cheap plastic computer. The bevel edge digs into the wrist with prolonged typing. Dell QC is problematic - the forums are filled with complaints. Dell has historically had issues with their trackpads and they supposedly fixed that problem on this model, but that's not the case. This computer gets a lot of hype, but it is unwarranted. Deeply disappointing given the nice screen and keyboard and not a good choice for power users or in a professional environment.

To help with the battery performance, I have provided the steps to change the Power Plan on your system. I have also given you a link to the full article should you need more information. As for the overheating problem, we recommend making sure your BIOS is up to date on your PC. Awesome Edgeless OLED Screen Laptop.
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This Dell XPS Laptop has a solid build and awesome 3.5K OLED display. I really love how the screen seems to be edge to edge with minimal bezels. I really enjoy looking at things on this laptop, the colors pop on this OLED screen and everything looks awesome. I feel the performance is premium as well. If your looking for a solid built computer with an awesome OLED screen this is the one. Oh wait did I mention this has OLED yes its that good that its worth repeating. I would say they need to change the screen to a full 4k or even 5k OLED screen to make it that much better.

Excellent build
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop is quite a bit step up from a typical windows laptop. First, the construction quality is very solid. There is hardly any flex when picking up the laptop with one hand. The screen hinge holds even when walking or moving around holding the laptop. The keyboard feel is soft and with just enough depth and click. Unlike most laptops, the speakers sound great. There are 4-speakers including 2 downward firing ones that have decent bass. OLED screen is very sharp and colors are vibrant. The screen's 16:10 ratio for me is better for productivity than 16:9. Performance is what I'd expect from the specs. usb-c support PD; therefore, can support a single cable charge + monitor output on any of the 3 usb-c ports (2 of which are thunderbolt 4). I also like the fact there is no dedicated numberpad. I rather have a less crammed keyboard. If there is anything I could find wrong, it's the fan intake location. It's underneath the laptop. This isn't a problem on a hard surface because the laptop 's rubber feet/rails are raised, but it can be a problem if laptop sits on a fabric surface. Macbooks have intakes near the bottom sides which are raised. Overall, it's the best windows laptop I've ever owned.

The elite laptop with an amazing OLED screen.
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Dell XPS 15 looks elite and performs like an elite laptop. It has one of the best OLED screens, is user configurable, has a powerful graphics card, and has a solid aluminum housing. It is the complete laptop with no real downsides. Battery life is good, but not great considering the amazing screen. That and the fan noise that can be noticeable but not bothersome are the only two areas that aren’t exemplary.

Great Laptop, but heavy.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. He is my take on this laptop. I had a 14" Sony Vaio that I loved until it died after only being 14 months old. (no parts available) The Sony and the Dell are all but identical spec wise. The Dell is VERY heavy compared to the Sony which is why I'm giving it a 4 star rating. Part of that is because the Dell has a larger 15" glass screen, and the Sony didn't. Although, I really like the glass screen, but you pay for it in weight. The sound on the Dell is amazing. Way better than the Sony. They did a great job on the 4 speaker system. One complaint I would have about the Dell is, I have the White version of this laptop. The back lit keys are back lit white. This makes it very hard to see the letters on the keys. You can turn it off which really helps. It would be nice if you could change the back lit key color. Another thing I wish it had was, a built in 3.0 USB rather than having to use the supplied adaptor for the USB C. Over all I really like this laptop, it's just very heavy. Mine came with Windows 11 which in it's core is very similar to 10. I personally just like the functionally of Windows 10 better.
