This laptop is really good. I use it for Programming Projects, Work, minor gaming, and data related projects. It's only down fall to me, is that it has windows 11 and that it lags sometimes for basic operations. Not Frozen or anything buy just moving choppy and slow not as smooth as basic functions on the Mac book Pro. Also prior to installing anything it would stall for the screen to come on, PC is on and all but monitor is black. It stopped since seemingly buy to be honest that worries me a lot. However, so far so good.

Great laptop with all the features I needed. The touchscreen is perfect for working on forms & contracts. The battery life is good & the weight is light enough to bring most places.

    Big and Beautiful, but.....

The look of this laptop is off the charts. The white color looks awesome, and the 15" OLED display is the best I've ever seen for a laptop. I watched several Netflix movies in Dolby Vision on this unit and they were breathtaking. The sound quality is also very impressive for a laptop, and makes watching movies a very pleasing experience. I also use this laptop for editing photos, and the display takes this to another level. This laptop really can replace a desktop. But...one big flaw, at least for my use of it. With the big, beautiful screen, I want to use this laptop for work. I log on to my virtual desktop with a smartcard via Citrix Workspace, but this laptop doesn't work with it. I also tested a Dell Inspiron 7000 a few weeks earlier, and had no issues. I've tried 3 other laptops over the last year and none of them had any issues. So I'm not sure what it is about the XPS, but I can't use it for work, which is a big problem for me since that is my main use of a computer these days working from home. I spent a while with my IT department and Dell support, and this issue is unable to be resolved. To Dell's credit, their support was great, but they were unable to resolve the issue. They even sent me another unit, but it had the same problem. I would also say, having tested the Inspiron 7000, I feel the Inspiron ran a little smoother (start up, downloading apps from the Microsoft Store). Here is a summary of my pros and cons of the XPS: Pros: - Beautiful look and display - Dolby Vision support makes watching movies on a laptop very enjoyable - Excellent sound - Nearly borderless screen - Can handle gaming pretty well - Can be a complete replacement for a desktop with the size and quality of the display Cons: - No USB-A ports (although it does come with a USB-C to USB-A adapter) - Heavy - Battery life isn't great (seems to only get about 5-6 hours off of normal use) - Runs hot - keyboard can be hard to see in certain settings (white keys with white backlight) - isn't compatible with Citrix Workspace Overall, if you want a laptop that provides a top notch entertainment experience and to get as close to a desktop as possible, then this is an excellent choice. But I can't recommend it since I can't use it for work.

A very nice laptop with a good battery life. My only complain is the keyboard. First, it takes a lot more effort to press they keys compared to my previous laptop. Second, the keyboard combines Home and End keys with F11 and F12 keys, respectively. I need to use these 4 keys a lot (I am a software developer and I work in Visual Studio a lot). I found myself having to press the fn key everytime I need to use either one of these keys. My previous laptop has dedicated Home and End keys. Because of the keyboard, I substracted one star.

Dell really missed the mark with this one. There are a bunch of things that had I know about before buying I would definitely not have purchased it. - The touchpad/mouse interactions are terrible, its like there are dead spots. So what that means is that as I am moving my mouse across the pad there are instances where it just stops suddenly or doesn't even pick up the movement. You are basically forced into using the touch screen for absolutely everything. - The laptop screen flickers off and on any time you plug/unplug it from power. As someone who was going to use this for gaming and live visual performances this is an absolute deal breaker. I can not have my monitors turning off and on just because I am plugging it in, what computer does that!!!? - It takes a solid 5 minutes for the laptop to come back from a sleep or hibernation state. It starts to boot up and then kind of gets stuck and I have to force a reboot on the computer. - Bluetooth is a nightmare, the XPS is constantly dropping bluetooth connections left and right regardless of device. Overall would warn anyone to seriously reconsider buying this computer regardless of your reason for putting it on your list to begin with.
