I mostly use the computer for Autocad purposes and I am impress with the graphics speed and quality. The 4 stars is because I have run with some sound issues especially after I connected the laptop to a lcd or monitor. I solved the problem by disabling and reinstalling the sound card.

I enjoy using the XPS 15 and its one of the better laptops I own both in build quality and hardware. As usual, out of the box it is loaded down with a concerning amount of unnecessary Dell bloatware so first thing first after initial bootup go ahead and do a clean start. I have upgraded to Windows 11 since receiving this laptop it runs fantastic on this laptop. I love the 16:10 ratio and the OLED screen is excellent but can be a power hog at maximum brightness. This particular model with the OLED screen has the largest battery out of the XPS 15 lineup at 86WHr. I would consider battery life to be good for the hardware, but this also contributes to the overall weight of the laptop which is honestly a bit heavier than I expected from one of their XPS series. The I/O features two Thunderbolt 4 type-c ports and one gen 3.2 type-c ports, so depending on your accessories plan to dongle up. They are all capable of being used as displayport out for external monitors, and can all be used as charging ports. The 11800H from intel is a solid performer and is based on the new 10nm Intel process making it more power efficient. Single and multi core performance is impressive and rivals desktop processors of a few generations back, which I think is impressive in a 45w TDP package. This chip is packing 8 cores and 16 threads so will perform well in heavier apps like premier pro or solidworks. The RTX 3050Ti is a nice addition for supported apps, but in terms of gaming the 4gb of dedicated VRAM is simply not enough. Dont think many are looking at the XPS lineup for gaming performance, but those that are looking for something to double dip with NVIDIA screwed up only using 4GB of VRAM for this GPU. The 11800H has a updated memory controller and Dell is actually taking advantage of this by utilizing 3200mhz ram instead of the more traditional 2166mhz DDR4. The power button is also a finger print reader which I am currently using for windows log in and it works great. The webcam on this laptop is also compatible with Windows Hello so you have plenty of biometric options for log in security. I appreciate that they put the webcam in the correct part of the screen (at the top), so your colleagues dont have to stare up your nostrils the entire meeting. The keyboard feels good for extended use and is easy to type quickly, hopefully the switches hold up for the long run. A stand out feature in my opinion is the trackpad, its massive and accuracy is great. Feels smooth as you glide your fingers across and is overall makes a external mouse feel unnecessary depending on what apps you are working in at the time. I have experienced an issue with the power button not turning on the laptop, at times it will take 3-4 presses before it springs to life. Not quite sure if this is user error yet or a real problem, it seems to correspond with when I close the lid which triggers sleep mode versus when I fully power down the laptop via the windows menu. Also while the trackpad is amazing, it feels a little loose in the chassis which is honestly annoying. I wouldn't expect this at the price point of this laptop. If you are looking for a good platform for productivity while travelling this is a great option. The good features outweigh the bad, so unless this thing breaks down on me prematurely then I'll be using it for many years to come.

      Hello Sunny12345,

We would like to thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback. We apologize for the issues you have come across with your Dell XPS 9510 computer because its touchpad was getting stuck and battery life was not as good as you would expect. This is certainly not the experience that we like to hear from our customers. We appreciate your feedback and will use it to help improve our current and future products.

To help with a battery performance issue, we recommend changing the Power Plan:

      1. On the notification area of the taskbar, right-click the Battery icon.
      2. On the options list, click Power Options.
      3. Select a power plan on the battery meter, such as Power Saver or Balanced. Windows 10 has a built-in 'Battery Saver' mode that can be activated to extend your system's battery life. The Battery Saver mode will monitor and limit background activity and other features such as push notifications. You do have the option to enable or disable this mode within settings or within advanced Battery Saver settings, you can customize the mode to best suit your needs.

      a) Click on the Action Center icon in the taskbar and select the tile for Battery Saver.
      b) If running Cortana then type Battery Saver into the search box and select from the results.
Within the Battery Saver settings page, you will be able to turn on and off the feature and customize the feature to best meet your needs.
      c) Turn the Battery Saver On or Off.
      d) Additional settings are available via the Battery use and Battery saver settings links.
      e) Battery use shows further info on apps and their power usage.
      f) Battery Saver Settings screen allows you to customize further Battery Saver features.

The Dell - XPS 15.6 OLED laptop is sleek, smooth and fast. The specifications are what got my attention: Intel Core i7, 1TB SSD, 16 GB plus the Arctic White were too much to pass up. Actually, my initial purchase was MacBook Air M1 however I was having some calibration issues and returned it and I'm impressed by the ease of the Dell XPS which is fast.

Everything about this laptop has been great, but I can't help but thinking that it's overpriced. The specs of it can be found in laptops that are at least $1000 less. That extra $1000 gets you great build quality and attention to detail, but when there are slight thermal issues and QC issues, I'm not sure if it's really worth it.

The laptop has a premium build quality and an amazing screen. I didn't realize how cool the white color would be until I got it. It runs extremely quiet as well. This was a surprise considering the discrete gpu installed. If you want a laptop that can almost approximate what a low end desktop can do, then this is the laptop for you.

Powerful laptop, but make sure your touch pad is stable and beware of the white backlight on white keys. The 11800H finally helps the XPS line that has been plagued by throttling. I primarily use this for software development so I can't speak for gaming performance. Loading 5 instances of Visual Studio causes no issues. My XPS 15 9550 would have permanent loud fans after 3 instances.
