The first Dell i7, 8th generation laptop had an internal problem so had to wait for new one to be ordered for exchange. No problem with this laptop. Love to use it. Like the charger on this Dell more than any other laptop I have owned. This laptop turns into a tablet and comes with a "pen". Love, Love, Love it!

I got the 9575 about half a year ago for work. It has been one of the most unreliable computers I have EVER seen. The amount of bugs in this thing is truly appalling...especially when you are paying top dollar for one of Dell's top-of-the-line computers. I paid over $2,000 for a computer that feels like a prototype running the first beta of Windows 10. I seriously would not recommend this laptop to anybody simply because the functionality/value doesn't come close to what I paid. Cons: -Driver software was incredddddibly rushed. Lots of instability with 3rd party apps and even default software (e.g. the audio drivers). ALOT of resolution issues w/ the 4K screen too -CPU FAILURE: 4 months after my purchase, I was prompted for a recommended Radeon graphics update. I installed successfully, then was prompted to restart. I clicked OK, the computer goes black, fans start going maximum speed endlessly. LED light starts blinking 2 Amber flashes, then 1 white flash......CPU completely fried. Had to send in my laptop to Dell for a month, no apology, no explanation, no nothing. -Battery life is one of the worst I have ever seen in a modern gen laptop. 100% charge will run 2.5 hours on the internet or 1.5 hours on FL Studio 20. Tried everything to fix (BIOs updates, settings, limiting start-up/background tasks) -I experience touchpad issues every single day, It stops working after a few minutes, then acts erratically by registering clicks when I'm not even touching the computer. Was sent into Dell and they didn't do a single thing, just told me to update drivers (classic Dell). So now I use a bluetooth mouse or the touchscreen 95% of the time. -Speakers: The speakers are on the direct bottom of the computer. Basically, unless you are in tablet mode, all sound is going to hit a surface before it reaches you. If you have to 9575 in your lap, your music will be guaranteed muffled. My 2013 MacBook Pro is obviously louder and has much better bass. -Sleep Mode: For a computer so powerful, I do not understand why it takes so long to wake the computer from sleep. I open the thing, click the power button or click the touchpad, and the screen won't appear for 5-10 seconds, not to mention the delay for the applications to load up. Pros: -4K screen: Its incredible, nothing else to say -Radeon Graphics Card: When its performing well, this thing does very well. Can run Rocket League on 1080p with 70-80 FPS no problem if you can keep the laptop cool. -4 USB-C (2 each side) is dope. Love being able to move the charger around. Summary: I'm just going to leave it at this, I paid top dollar for this laptop because it was supposed to be one of Dell's most powerful laptops. Any PC over $1,400 should be an absolute powerhouse...this one cost over $2,000 at the time I bought it. I am not joking when I say this, my 2013 MacBookPro (been to hell & back, memory is almost maxed out, only 8 GB RAM) literally boots up quicker, plays music louder, the touchpad actually works, the battery lasts 1.5-2 times longer than my PC (Ya 6 year old MacBook with thousands of running hours), and it is 20x more stable than the Dell (no random crashes, no resolution issues, no driver issues, and most importantly no internal hardware damage) and it is 6 years old going on 7. I have had the Dell XPS 15 9575 for only 8 months. Its clear Dell rushed the crap out of producing this product. The hardware and software simply isn't ready. I'm going to ride out the Dell issues since I don't really have any other option, but I can confidently say that I won't ever buy a Dell product again. Disappointed is an understatement.

I purchased this laptop July 22 2018. From the get go the track pad was unresponsive at times. The trackpad would work if I used it briefly. But if I was using it for a longer period of time it would become extremely unresponsive. To the point that I would have to touch the screen to navigate. Finally I just gave up and bought a blue tooth mouse. Than on Feb 14 as I’m doing some work at the table the screen just started flickering and showing images In the background of the screen. Almost as if the images were burned into the screen. I took the laptop to Best Buy geek squad the same day. They were perplexed. Geek squad tech said it looks like the images are burned on the screen but they aren’t. Is showing images from previously navigated pages. The tech said he hadn’t seen this before and that it was clearly a hardware malfunction. The tech was also trying to use the track pad and it was un responsive. The tech asked me is the trackpad unresponsive and I confirmed it was. Geek Squad Tech stated at a minimum the screen and trackpad needed to be replaced and possibly the motherboard. The tech confirmed this was clearly a total breakdown of the hardware. Of course since I’ve owned this $2000.00 laptop for a year and a half it was outside the manufactures warranty. Extremely disappointed in this laptop. It was the first Dell that I had owned. I actually had switched from an apple. Ironically my old apple still works just fine and it’s almost 8 years old. Granted hardware is dated and it’s slow but at least I got longer than 18 months out of it.

I normally don't do reviews for items, but seeing that this laptop only has 3.3 stars at the moment is not right, in my opinion. Some people have complained about the fan noise, but this has been addressed with a BIOS update. After the update, fan noise is far far less than before. Another review I saw was the battery life is only 6 hours. Although this seems pretty accurate, keep in mind that it is a quad-core cpu with hyperthreading, 4gb gpu, 16 GB of ddr4 2400 mhz ram coupled with a 4k display that gets extremely bright. I myself have gotten 7 hours with low brightness with laptop in power save mode. This included running mildly intense applications (Virtual Machines, Web browsers, one note, word, etc). While running these applications the laptop does get mildly warm, but nothing too bad considering the form factor of this computer. I absolutely love the keyboard now... although I didn't initially. It did take some time to get used to, perhaps an hour. Once you get used to it you will love it. It is very responsive and the key actuation feels very very nice. It is similar to the macbook pro, but not as shallow and significantly easier to get used to in my opinion. Trackpad is one of the best I've used. Apple has always had great trackpads, this one is on par with them in terms of tracking and smoothness of trackpad. Although smaller than the macbook pros, it is more than big enough for me. The screen is absolutely insane. Pictures look crystal clear with vibrant colors. Combining the 400 nits of brightness with the anti-glare screen makes it possible to use outside without a problem. Performance is surprisingly very good. My last three laptops have been "gaming" laptops as I've wanted more performance in terms of running virtual machines, and highly intensive gpu tasks. This laptop performs better cpu wise and fulfills my needs GPU wise. The cpu/gpu combo that's been implemented in this 2 in 1 with the G series processor seems to be pretty promising. Applications load very fast and overall have 0 complaints. The design and build quality of this laptop is also top notch. Hinges are very sturdy, carbon fiber is really nice to rest palms on, and the infinity edge screen looks remarkable. I would highly recommend this laptop to anyone that needs some power to run some intensive applications but doesn't want a bulky computer. Overall 5/5.

Best Buy is scammers. I bought an Open Box computer - Excellent. It was to be bought and sent back by the customer. I got a used, dirty computer. Without the original box, packed in a small, old box. After contacting Dell, it turned out that the computer was repaired many times. The screen and motherboard have been replaced. After replacing the motherboard, the Windows 10 license was not included. The computer arrived without an operating system. I paid $1250, the price on the box inside - $1007. They sent me an old computer and they claim it is an open box - excellent. They did not want to see the photo with the price on their box ... Best Buy are thieves and scammers. I won't buy anything at this company!!!

$2K in the trash. Worse PC/Laptop I ever purchased. Lasted less than a year. Hope Dell one day gets the XPS issues worked out...

I really wanted to keep this notebook, because it has everything. *Superb build quality and thin profile *4k highly color accurate display *Good keyboard and trackpad (when it works properly) *Foldable design and touchscreen *Decent video card But a week into owning it, I started having trackpad issues. The lower half of the trackpad was frequently unresponsive. This was especially frustrating when I was in class and trying to follow along with the professor (I am a computer science grad student). I looked online and saw that it was possibly a BIOS or driver issue. I tried updating the drivers and BIOS - that didn't help. I tried a full reset of the system from the Windows 10 settings - that didn't help. I tried disabling the Vega M drivers as some suggested - that didn't help. I tried rolling back to an older version on BIOS - and it was unsuccessful. People have been reporting this issue as early as July and Dell has not found a real solution. Some people are reporting that they are sending the notebook to Dell and having the trackpad replaced. In some cases, it helps, other times it doesn't. I ended up exchanging it at BestBuy and getting a MBP instead. Such a shame, because otherwise the machine it excellent, but it's possible there is a faulty batch. Either way, I didn't want to take the chance of getting another XPS and dealing with the same issues that Dell can't fix.

I bought this laptop instead of getting a standalone artist's drawing tablet. It was a lot more expensive, but it's nice to have a full computer and tablet all in one. I can now do my work while traveling. The Good: The touch screen surface works great and the pen has a great feel to it. So far, I've noticed almost no lag when drawing. The brightness is great. I can see the screen even in full daylight. Speaking of the screen, the colors are crisp and clear and the images are gorgeous. The Bad: The N key sticks sometimes and I have to pull it back up and the button on the pen is poorly placed. I accidentally click it all the time. It would also be nice to have at least one standard USB port. It runs pretty hot. The heat coming off of it makes my belly sweat. The battery life could be better. It's a little hard to open. There's no real lip to grab on to. I wish you could flip the screen when not in tablet mode. The camera position is dumb. Should be at the top.

I would say that dell has made a greate laptop. The 4K screen is Gorgeous!!!! I love the screen being so beautiful. The only downside is that it eats a lot of battery which you are looking at around 5-6hours depending on usage. However I did bring the resolution down to 1080p and the battery life improved to 7-9 hours depending on use. I also installed Linux Ubuntu and windows alongside and found that i got better battery life with Linux than windows so I guess it depends on OS settings. The fans when initially I got it ran so loud but with the bios updates and system updates that The fan runs a lot quieter than before You can play games but with 1080p and some settings adjustment. I was able to achieve 50frames per second on aliens isolation but with 1080p resolution and medium settings. But with overwatch at 1080p at ultra settings I achieved 60-70 frames per second. But this is not a gaming laptop in general and if you like PUBG or other first person shooter games then look for a laptop with 1060 graphics card or higher, this is not what your looking for. Pen is provided in the core i7 version and I like the drawing ability but it’s not as great as the surface pen but a good ad on Incase you like to draw. Now for the most important thing and that is the keyboard. I can say this, it is waaaay better than apples butterfly keyboard with the tectile feedback but Long term typing I have pain typing on this and that falls for both the Apple keyboard and this is not that different. You do get used to it but long term typing on this is horrrible and I really didn’t like playing with the keyboard on this laptop. I would say if you really want a thin laptop that you can carry out casual gaming and some productivity work then this can be your laptop but what holds me from giving it 5 star is the battery life and keyboard which hurts my finger at the end of the day

First Dell, so far I love it. Dells bundle software was usefull to me. My phone integrates seamlessly to my laptop. Love the 2 in 1 form factor. The Display is amazing even at its lowest light. You can fit so much information on the screen at 1 time. No negatives yet. I do get where 2 of the negative comments could be validated. The fans when on are noticable. Totally controllable through settings, and to me not loud enough to matter. The second is battery life. Once again not fast enough to slow me down, but I do keep the charger handy. Most days of light use I can go all day and not charge.

My 2011 MacBook Pro just died a slow and painful death, and I was looking for a new laptop to invest in for the long haul. I knew I wanted a 15' laptop but didn't want to pay a ton of money just for a brand name again (*cough* Apple *cough*). I'd been shopping around in the physical Best Buy near me and had considered the Yoga, HP Spectre, and Microsoft Surface before landing on the Dell XPS series. I instantly loved the XPS 15 but was worried about the pricetag, so I went to look for online deals... Then I got super lucky and landed on this bad boy, the Dell XPS 15 2-in-1, on sale through Best Buy's Open Box program. It was certified new by the Geek Squad and, get this, $400 off the full price of a brand new one. I rushed into the store that day and scooped it up. It came fully cleaned with no signs of wear (the GS representative I talked to said that the person had returned it after a day or so because she decided to go with the 13' instead--her trash is my treasure!) I've been using this laptop for over a month now, and I am SO satisfied with its performance. The mag keys take a little to get used to as they're flatter with less travel than your typical float keys. The screen is GORGEOUS. I have the 4k, and I'm so glad I splurged. Everything is bright and vibrant and crisp. The battery life is good but could be better, is the only thing I'll say. I get maybe 5 or 6 hours of school use (i.e., Word, 7 Chrome tabs, Spotify, and R or Stata) out of a single charge, which really isn't bad but could be better. Also, I haven't run into any fan issues, so I'm not sure if that was fixed in updates before I bought the laptop (November 2018) or if I'm just not using it in such a demanding way as to kick in the high-power fan. Regardless, very pleased so far. Would absolutely buy again. Definitely worth the investment.

Great design, sleek and modern. Maglev keyboard is a little awkward at first but is quick to adjust to. Display is beautiful. Pen is nice and works great. It does run a bit hot and could do better on battery life, but it seems to be getting better with every software update. No problems with the Killer wireless. AMD video drivers are a little lacking but they get the job done.

I was checking for a different 2-in-1 laptop when this was discovered in the Open Box area. It was compared to other similar models and in terms of launching Win 10 and speed, this unit outperformed the others. After looking at the price and the specs, this was a must have laptop. Although it is maxed out at 16 GB of RAM, the additional upgrade to a 500 GB WD Gaming hard drive will satisfy my photography and word processing storage needs. It is thin, lightweight, versatile with positioning, and works well with Win 10 OS and applications.

This laptop has almost every computer feature possible. 4k screen, 2-in-1, GPU, two thunderbolt 3 ports, 4 lane pcie. With all that said, there's only one downside. If you buy this laptop and enjoy traveling or taking it with you then you better get used to carrying a charger. The laptop gets 4 hours on a good day.

Excellent laptop. Really quick and powerful, runs Adobe suite no problem, pen works great, runs pretty modern pc games with no issue. Screen is stunning and colour calibration software is excellent. I have no issue with the fans being loud, I can barely hear them even when playing games, when in laptop mode and being pushed, it does run a little hot as the vents are on the base though. The battery life is okay, but not amazing, really could have done better in that regard, but it really is the only downside.

After doing much research, I landed this laptop. I bought it for my photography business. It's power and beautiful 4k screen makes it perfect for photo editing. I also love the thin design, and being able to turn the screen to use it like a tablet when I meet with clients. It's perfectly priced for everything it offers. The only thing I would change are the type of ports it offers. A regular SD memory card slot would be nice. :)

I love this laptop. While the tablet mode is capable. Its clearly a laptop first. With 16Gb or ram and a pretty powerful processor it does everything I need it to as a developer. The thunderbolt ports are awesome and the wireless networking is solid and fast. The touchpad is responsive although maybe a little too sensitive. I did upgrade the ssd to 1Tb which took some work since there is only one port. You can get external m2 ssb enclosures that allow you to attach the new drive to one of the four thunderbolt ports and copy the entire drive. There are videos online for how to then physically swap the drives. Took about 20 minutes and I had a Tb drive for an extra 250 bucks. I purchased this for 650 off so if you can get that deal I highly recommend it. If not there are some others that might be worthookong at also but it's still and awesome machine. Pros: fast, capable, lots of ram, touch screen and tablet mode. Screen is beautiful. Cons: touchpad is sensitive, battery life could be better, should ship with windows pro but comes with home version. Tablet mode and pen is serviceable but not its strength.

Love the screen, keyboard, overall power that you get from the cpu and gpu from this laptop. A few things that could have been better are the battery life and overall heat performance. This is mainly due to the powerful components within the laptop that dell put in as well as the 4k screen which definitely isnt needed on a 15" laptop. Despite that I do love this laptop and would buy it again given the choice. Nowadays I would spring for a laptop that has the Ryzen 4000 series CPU's if possible and potentially a nvidia gpu so I could take advantage of RTX / NVENC encoding for gaming and streaming respectfully. People I would recommend this to are artists or graphic designers due to the 2-in-1 design. Anyone else I would look into the standard clamshell laptop designs as those provide more ports than just usb-c. Unless you dont mind that dongle life.

This is a beautifully made laptop! Very powerful for the tools I need to get my job done. The whole 2 in 1 is mind blown, I no longer need several devices to just do certain jobs. Most definitely would purchase again!
