Running games not on the charger seems to run battery down fast than I expected. Other than that great laptop.

Dell XPS Review - what it lacks

Overall, I am a Dell Fan! But a little disappointed in a couple of things. I am using this laptop for work. I NEED a touchscreen and I NEED a numeric keypad as I work numbers all day long. I also need USB ports; correct I do not want to use Wi-Fi to connect certain things. I had to buy a separate numeric keypad to plug in and an adapter to plug in to get needed USB ports... hmmm. you decide if the value is there if you desire these two lacking features.

Laptop itself is fine, but call me old fashioned, these new laptops are too thin, hard to grab edge to open, only having USB-C connectors and all peripherals are "old school" USB-A/B type, so have to purchase a separate hub. Not having Ethernet connector, hey not everyone wants to connect by WiFi...

This laptop is very nice. The screen is the largest offering in this series. I feel the advertising of 17" is tricky to the consumer as it really is smaller from my other 17" Dell. It is a power house and worth its cost. This was a openbox offering and seemed Brand new.

I've had a dell Inspiron laptop for several years, and it has a few quirks that I hoped would disappear with a new laptop. However, they resumed almost immediately. I have to use assistive technology to operate my laptop, so I scheduled a Best Buy TotalTech technician to come to my house and recommend the best laptop that Best Buy sells that can flawlessly run all of my assistive technology devices. This is the laptop that she suggested I purchase. If I have several internet windows open or several word documents and adobe acrobat pdfs open, the laptop tends to lag and freeze. it will completely shut both programs off as well. It has the same effect if I have too many google chrome web pages open. For a computer at this price point with this much ram, I would not expect it to freeze and give me warnings that it is out of memory within the first month of owning it. If it freezes because of the internet, it automatically shuts my camera off, which leaves me unable to use it at all. I plan on returning it and purchasing a non-dell laptop to see if I can get better results. If I didn't need to run the assistive devices programs and I was not concerned about my camera staying on, it is probably a pretty decent laptop.
