Tray so small doesn't even hold two normal size cappuccino cups next to each other to fill with espresso. It also vibrates and almost shakes cups off the tiny try.

I'm becoming a coffee snob, I wont go out and buy it anymore because the coffee, espresso. and cappuccino I make myself is THAT much better! I 've gone through a few espresso machines and haven't found one that I really am crazy about yet, but this one may be it. This particular unit is small and compact and does exactly what I need it do do, without the fuss. I got the unit out and ran it a few times to rinse everything out, the first drink I made was an espresso... Delicious and quick! It was strong and tasted amazing just like I wanted it to... Then I made my wife a cappuccino, she said it was better than going out and buying them! Ill take that compliment! This is a very high quality and well built machine, you wont regret this purchase.

I have owned several coffee machines from a Mr coffee to a 10 different types of Keurigs and even various Expresso and Cappuccino machines. Most were a bit high tech and produced great coffee. This device seemed at the price point like it was the top of the funnel as far as Expresso machines. The device is attractive enough, shiny stainless steel and is easy to set up and use and is sort of old style press which some people may like with no technology except three buttons at the top and tech involved, no lights or switches, just old style pressing of expresso as a manual process not technical enough, it heats fast and is ready to go all the time plus it was nice to have cup warmer at top but I couldnt help wondering why there is not much more technology involved with this device.

Horrible product. Don't even think of buying it. Parts break within 2 months. Frother is absolutley useless. The price is ridiculous for such a faulty design. In general DeLonghi looks like a bad company in this segment. Will never DeLonghi product again.

Cancel that trip to Italy! Okay…maybe not. At least wait until this Covid thing is over. But I digress… I gotta tell you, this DeLonghi Dedica EC685 took me right back to the AutoGrill rest stops along the E45 highway from Rome to Naples. Those stops have the greatest coffees in the world. The aroma; the flavor — the Dedica took me there. This machine is beautiful and the coffees it produces are exceptional, if I don’t say so myself — and I’m a newbie. I’ve always been a bit of a coffee snob, collecting all sorts of classic drip, pour-over, and press systems, but this was my first leap into the world of espresso (except for a little moka pot that I get out a couple times a year). I did my due diligence and took some time before taking delivery and watched plenty of YouTube videos for advice and tips, as well as making sure to read the manual when it finally arrived. The only item I chose to purchase beforehand was a small stainless steel 12-ounce frothing pitcher. I wanted to have it available to make cappuccinos and lattes as I was experimenting and having fun with my new toy. All the other gadgets could wait. When the machine arrived, I washed the necessary components and quickly got down to brewing! Upon pulling my first shot, I learned that I wanted/needed to grind my beans more finely. Your mileage may vary. I also got a little carried away with the frothing — but I’m having a blast! Have fun experimenting. This thing’s a kick! It doesn’t take up a huge amount of space at only 6” wide. It looks great on the countertop without demanding too much elbow room. I know there are other machines out there that make amazing coffees — and have equally amazing (as in, you gotta be kidding me!) pricing. For the money, the Delonghi Dedica EC685 is a steal. Keep it clean, inside and out, and it should give you years of coffee-making pleasure. Divertiti!

Very disappointed in this product. Light weight, difficult to add pump to maker. Not sturdy.

Water not hot enough. Difficult to clean. Steamer wand loosens easily and composed of cheap material.

I’m disappointed. The machine does not produce the nice, thick espresso mousse that I like.

Received my DeLonghi Dedica Espresso machine a couple of weeks ago and having been enjoying it a lot. Upon unboxing this machine I was very impressed with the solid build quality as well as the sleek design. I’ve always been impressed with the amount of craftsmanship DeLonghi puts in their appliances. Along with the machine comes the user manual and quick start guide, 3 different sized filter cups, a scoop/tamper, and descaling solution. Also on the inside of the user manual, DeLonghi included a test strip for you to test your water. Would have loved for a couple of the espresso shot glasses as well, but we were able to improvise with what we had in the kitchen. Using the quick start guide I followed along in figuring out how to operate this machine to make my fave drink, an Iced Caramel Macchiato. This is what I usually order at 'Bucks on my way to work (with 4 shots). After a few attempts, I think I came close enough for my taste for my Iced Caramel Macchiatos. It has saved me some money over the last couple of weeks being able to make these at home. This actually the only drink we've experimented with so far. However, you can try your hand at lattes as well as cappuccinos. Another plus for this machine is it matches the rest of our stainless steel appliances in the kitchen and only takes up a small amount of counterspace.

As an admitted espresso snob, please let it be known this is my second De'longhi Dedica Espresso machine. After graduating from K-Cups, I had purchased the original in 2012, and with annual descaling it lasted almost 5 years! It was almost an instant no brainer to just replace it, but as a consumer I wanted to give a Nespresso type machine a try; while also offering some other flavor options to use easily for the family OTHER than neck hair-tingling good espresso. Welp, the pods for that are too pricey, and the 2 machines we've had in less than 3 years are NOT built anywhere near this stainless steel De'Longhi beauty. Glad to be back using this every morning and after lunch. it pours the best shots I've had at home - really on par with my brother's absurd in-wall Bosch unit which freshly grinds beans and cleans itself. Pick this machine up and get yourself the roast of your choice in ESE pods (My preferred, as cleanup is easy), or just simply grind your own fresh beans. Frother is easy to use should you desire lattes or cappuccinos...I've also used it to make the most amazing hot cocoa. Brew temp is easy to adjust. Cleaning and refilling w/ water is a snap. Absolutely recommend this to anyone wanting a perfect cup of espresso.

This espresso maker is great and would have received a five-star rating, however, the one flaw that it has is, if you're scoops are not level, you will not be able to lock in the handle to make your espresso. It's fairly simple to use, the instructions were easy to understand. The fact that it comes with a single, double, and POD size cups is great. The steamer works wonderful, so much so that my four-year-old likes for me to steam her milk for her now.

Do yourself a favor and choose the calphalon espresso. This little machine is overpriced for the “quality”

I've come to expect high quality of builds with De'Longhi appliances, and the Dedica Deluxe espresso machine is just that. It has a beautiful stainless steel design and I love the narrow footprint that the machine takes up. The included quick start guide is very helpful and greatly appreciated. After reading up on how to operate this thing, I was off and ready to make some delicious lattes and cappuccino. The Dedica brews quickly and very well. I recommend using a very fine grind (finer than table salt) and try and have the particles as uniform as possible, this is the key to the perfect espresso. The frothing wand works wonderfully and it has an adjustment to switch between having a dryer foam for cappuccinos or a foam more for lattes. The cup tray is removeable, which is nice if you'd like to use a little taller cup. And the machine features a warming area on top of it so you can keep your cups warm. All in all I think this is an excellent espresso machine for any coffee lover.

The espresso that comes out of this machine is very good. The only thing I need to worry about is making sure I tamp down the coffee grinds enough! I was concerned of the lack of a pressure meter to let me know if I was pulling a good shot, but I found I was able to pull solid shots without the meter. The milk frothing wand is easily accessible and ready to go for espresso macchiatos, cappuccinos, etc. What I enjoy about this espresso machine is it's small counterspace footprint, the quality of the accessories, and the quality of the espresso. Everyone that has seen the machine is impressed by its looks and the quality of the coffee. What more can you want?

I’ve had this for a month now at least and it is amazing! Slim design is perfect for my countertop but it is 100% stable, never rocks or shakes. This is a solid well built quality machine. I’m not an espresso expert and this was so simple to set up and use. I use it almost daily and it always turns out great!

I used to live in Miami and I miss the strong cuban coffee so this is the next best thing. The machine is well made and seems like it will last a long time. Not that hard to make coffee and once you get it down, you'll be real happy. This machine does not take up a lot of space which is a huge plus for me.

We have had our machine for 7 years and love it so much we purchased one for the office. Great machine! Great espresso!

I love coffee. I love really, really strong black coffee. Visitors to my home usually take a sip of my morning brew and add some water. After a meal at my favorite Italian restaurant I order an espresso and the bitter darkness is oh, so satisfying so I was super excited to try the De'Longhi Dedica. I went to Dark Canyon Coffee Company and bought some exquisite beans, had a friend who worked at a boutique coffee shop for 6 years bring over a $450 grinder and was ready to experience pure bliss. Not so much. The Dedica is a beautiful machine, no doubt. Setup was a breeze and although I am no barista, my friend is. Literally. He ground the beans to a fine consistency, loaded the machine and turned it on. We got 1/2 of a small espresso-sized cup of coffee that was neither deep black nor particularly strong. We tried again using the 2 cup setting. This time our single cup was nearly full of the same ho-hum coffee. Next he ground the beans down further to what was virtually a powder which he referred to as Turkish. Same thing. The 2 cup setting produced 1 cup of "espresso" that did not knock my or his socks off. I tried to narrow it down and the takeaway is that it wasn't the beans, it wasn't the consistency of the grind so it must be that the Dedica, while beautiful on the outside, does not have the heart required to make a truly good cup of espresso. Maybe I was expecting too much for a machine in this price range (the grinder we used was worth twice the Dedica) but I was thoroughly disappointed.

Looked intimidating at first. Easiest way is to just get the first party espresso pods to get used to it, then branch out. Do like it though.
