We had asimilar machine of different brand that was less expensive. I thought it was fine until we got the De'Longhi! They both do the exact same things. Same feature set--grind the beans, make great espresso to taste. The difference in noise level and smoothness of the parts all working together is night and day. The De'Longhi is like an exotic car compared to a domestic eco model. Smooth and easy to operate. The controls are more intuitive and offer more granular options--as well as the over ice feature. I love iced beverages and it actually makes a difference in flavor to have a specific setting for iced. one thing I would prefer but is only offered in the model a level up from this one is a stand alone frother. The built in frother does the job, but keep in mind you're using the same output as the coffee, so no way to do them at the same time. Not a big deal for one-offs, but would be something to consider if you entertain. I highly recommend going with a little extra spend for the De'Longhi machine. The quality is obvious, and it makes superior espresso beverages! You may want to splurge for the next level though!

Reviewing the De'Longhi - Dinamica TrueBrew coffee and expresso maker is difficult. I know that is an odd way to start off a review but this is a lot of machine for a narrow band of users. I consider myself a novice when it comes to expresso/ cappacino making but advanced for coffee making. After a week of using the Dinamica TrueBrew, I can say it makes an incredible restaurant quality cup of coffee. There is nothing comparable to fresh ground beans used immediately to brew coffee. Just keep in mind, this is essentially a single serve coffee maker (actually two cups if you place under each spout.) You may first think to compare this to an advanced Keurig but it is far from it. It is the difference between and Mercedes S Class and Hyundai Elantra. In review: Unboxing and set up – The first thing you will notice is this is a very heavy unit. It is over 20lbs and you need every bit of that for any coffee and espresso maker with a grinder built in. Besides the machine itself, you get a water filter, “Signature Coperaco Expresso” coffee blend, a descaler and a water filter. There is a “welcome box” with instruction guides and quick start guide. The quick start guide goes through testing your water for hardness and includes a water filter should your water is too hard. I just installed the water filter, I already knew I had hard water so I just put it in. Frankly I do not know why they even have you test the water when installing the filter takes less than 30 seconds and it cannot hurt anything. I recommend reading the quick start guide and then through the full instructions. You will quickly learn that the detailed instructions has a lot of information that is in the quick start guide. For example, you may find that your unit has some coffee grinds in the unit. That does not mean that it is used, De'Longhi tests their units. There are details about adjustments to the coffer grind, adjusting to water hardness and much, much more. Build quality, fit and finish – The unit appears to be well built but nearly all the metallic looking surfaces are plastic made to look like metal. I would have preferred a bit more metal in this price range. Since I have only had it for a week or so, I cannot attest to long term durability. However, the plastic is high quality, and all the moving parts definitely have the feel of “solidness” you would expect in a high-cost appliance. Sound – No coffee grinder and expresso machine is going to be quiet when operating but this is quieter compared to another coffee grinder I have. In terms of expresso making, it is about the same as other high-quality machines. Coffee performance – Out of the box with no adjustments, the Dinamica TrueBrew made delicious coffee after a couple of runs. At first the coffee seemed to be watered down and I tried adjusting the grind. It made things worse. After reading the manual, De'Longhi clearly states that it takes a few runs before the coffee tastes best. I put the grinder back in its original setting and ran it a couple of times. At about the third cup, everything fell into place, and it was delicious. Clearly, it helps to read everything. The strong point of this machine it is truly automatic, nearly all the guess work is taken away. Although expresso is not my favorite, it was easy to make. Cappuccinos on the other hand, were a pleasant surprise and just as good as I have tasted anywhere else. Frothing performance – Wow. What a difference from a high-quality machine. Perfect every time I tried it. Rich, creamy yet light. This is opening up a new world for at home brewing. Controls - Simple and intuitive for every function. There is little learning curve and it’s icon driven functions are well polished. The touch screen display is bright and well made. It really is automatic in all it’s functions. There are many different settings that may appear intimidating at first but in the end are truly simplistic. Clean up – I found everything accessible and relatively easy to clean. There appears to be backflushing and descaling options, but you will not necessarily be doing that initially. Warranty – 2 years with option to get a third if you register the product. I have to admit that I thought this was going to be too much of a machine for me. I’ve always been a straight coffee drinker and I have been through my fair share of coffee grinders and makers. For the most part, I have found the simple yet well made coffee machines are best. This machine , while not simple, is making me rethink that. For home use, I never really had a desire to make expresso or cappuccino. I just reviewed a Ninja that had specialty coffee selection that was supposed to make a latte like or expresso like coffee and it was not good for that function. In that regard, there is no comparison to the De'Longhi - Dinamica TrueBrew nor should be considering this unit is 5 times the price. While I personally do not always like espresso, this machine opened up home made cappuccinos for me. Once I got the hang of adding the milk, it was just as good as any restaurant. With that said, I’d like to focus on the grind for coffee making. It really is an amazing difference to have the De'Longhi - Dinamica TrueBrew grind the prefect amount of beans for immediate use . The smell and taste are just so much better than any other single serve. If you can afford the best, consider the De'Longhi - Dinamica TrueBrew. 4 out of 5 stars.

I had thought about getting an espresso machine for some time and was always a bit intimidated by them. This one didn’t look as menacing, so decided to bite the bullet and get one. I have found that using this espresso machine is not anywhere as difficult as I had expected, and now wonder why I hadn’t gotten one a long time ago. No long waits at a coffee shop for your favorite coffee, espresso, cappuccino, latte or drip coffee. This can do it all. This has made life a little easier and could pay for itself in a year or less. If you are a big coffee drinker and prefer fresh ground coffee (grinding your own at home) or buying packaged ground coffee, this is a dream come true for any coffee connoisseur. The size of this espresso machine is not as large as I expected. I found that it is actually a bit smaller in width and sticks out an inch or two more in the front than my other coffee maker. So, in all reality it is about the same size footprint as my other coffee maker, just distributed differently. It also gives me a bit more room under the top cabinets than my drip coffee maker did. Set up of this machine has a bit of a learning curve. However, read the instructions carefully, as I did, and you shouldn’t have any problems. It will take some time to read it all, but you will understand it better if you do. This has an attached milk wand that can steam, froth and even give you hot water (for café Americano), so there is something for everyone. This machine comes with its own burr grinder built in. This is great to grind regular coffee beans, but as stated in the instructions it is IMPORTANT to note that a burr grinder is not to be used with flavored coffee, green, etc beans. However, you can create your own flavored coffee by adding a flavored syrup that you like. A burr grinder is not made for flavored coffee beans as it can damage the grinder. Again, read the instructions and you will learn a lot about coffee dos and don’ts. The touch screen has 8 buttons you can choose from for different coffee experiences. Instructions explain each one in detail. It will also flash warnings to let you know if it needs more beans, cleaning, etc. I am a big iced coffee fan in the summer and love that at the touch of a button it will brew iced coffee that doesn’t taste watered down at all. The price is right for any true coffee lover. As with anything else, you get what you pay for. I figure after about a year this will pay for itself and it is worth every penny.

This machine can do everything you need to make anything you can buy at the fancy coffee shops. Sure, there will certain specials that may require additional creativity at home but this machine will allow you to make those and do it really well! Setup was quick and easy. Opened it up, put it on our counter and plugged it in. After doing the initial setup, we started experimenting with different types of brews. Ran a few cycles of water through the machine and then started the coffee. I have been using a dark roast bean. I like it for either a regular cup or coffee or, I increase the bean strength and have an espresso. Important to note that there is a way to adjust the grinding of the coffee but I have not to this point. I feel that the manufacturers settings are perfect. There is also an area where you can use pre-ground coffee on top in the middle of the hopper. I tried it one time just to make sure it works and it was just fine. I prefer freshly ground but will occasionally use a Cuban or Italian Espresso blend to mix it up. In either case, you can choose Espresso, Espresso Longo or Long. I like stronger flavor and typically go for the Espresso Longo button and I’ve enjoyed every cup so far. When you get adventurous and want a cappuccino or latte, use the frother to steam your milk and add any of your favorite flavors. I am really enjoying this machine for its ease of use, speed of heating up in the morning when I’m starting my meetings and, cleaning it has been simple as well. None of the parts with the exception of the drip tray grille so I don’t bother doing that. I simply put it all in the sink with warm water and mild soap and clean it all off with a sponge. Takes a few minutes at most. This coffee maker is not inexpensive but if you are looking at similarly equipped machines, this is high on the list for functions, ease of use and quality brew. I absolutely loved this machine for 2.5 months!!! Then it stopped grinding and my return window expired two weeks ago. They insist I wait for their box to arrive and I send it to Pennsylvania for repair. 1000.00 machine??? I am disgusted with BB and the Delonghi.

The De'Longhi - Dinamica TrueBrew Over Ice Fully Automatic Coffee and Espresso Machine is not an easy to set up machine, but if you take the time to learn how it operates and do it correctly, the resulting beverages will be well worth it. The De'Longhi - Dinamica TrueBrew does everything for you automatically, from grinding the right amount of fresh beans to having it placed in the internal filter, tamping it down and then producing the espresso out of the dual spouts. Its fairly easy to clean with a removable dishwasher safe drip tray, has a great Adjustable Frother to help you make Cappuccino or Lattes with ease. The killer app for me from the De'Longhi - Dinamica TrueBrew is the Iced Coffee feature. In the summer months especially, I like a good Iced Coffee and this machine delivers that with excellence. Full Bodied non watered down taste are what I seek in an Iced Coffee and to be able to get that on demand at home makes this machine worth it for that alone. As with all machines like this, they will be kept in tip top shape by making sure you clean and descale when required to keep it delivering great quality and taste. To me, a machine like this pays for itself in no time when you factor in the cost of getting the beverages the De'Longhi - Dinamica TrueBrew can make in your house rather than at a fancy coffee shop. If you love great coffee, get this machine, you wont regret it!

Loved it at first we bought 8/28/22 in the past few weeks the frother is malfunctioning. Descaling routine is timely and complicated. Have it boxed up hoping Best Buy allows us to exchange it

You better believe it. Or maybe I believe it, along with others I've shared coffee with. This is arguably the best coffee and espresso machine that I've ever had the opportunity of using. As a coffee consumer and moderate enthusiast, who consumes anywhere between 2 to 4 coffees a day, coffee is a very essential part of my daily life (usually). I've tried most types of coffee machines out there on the market, including drop coffee makers, k-cup machines, and espresso machines. By far, this product by De'Longhi has been the superior to any product I've ever used for a quick cup coffee or espresso. Right out of the box, I would say the instructions for setting up this device could have been a little bit user friendly. For myself, I'm a moderate tech savvy person, so I was able to figure out how to set up the machine mostly by my own knowledge. The instructions are definitely a bit more useful when it comes to customizing settings, such as brew strength and temperature, but that information should have been on the "quick start" guide. Altogether, it probably took me about 30 minutes to set-up and figure out the settings. Once that was out of the way, using the product is fairly simple. It can do a small or large espresso, a cold brew, or a small coffee. It does take ground coffee, but using coffee or espresso beans is definitely recommended for a machine of this caliber. When brewing your coffee, the machine does get moderately loud, like a small vacuum cleaner, so be aware of that if you have other folks living at home! Cleaning the machine is also fairly simple. After something is brewed, coffee grounds are dumped in a container on the bottom of the machine, which can be accessed by pulling the tray out. I'd recommend cleaning it after each set of use or uses, if you're brewing a few cups. As this is a pretty large machine, it does take a few uses before coffee gets the "right" flavor, in my opinion. While the instructions do say it takes about 4-5 cups... I'd say it's closer to 10-15. But once there, it's set! Now, something that is subjective to everyone's own experience will be the taste and quality of the coffee. Whatever brand you use, I think your experience may vary until your coffee tastes "just right." For me, I would say I use more common "coffee shop" brands, so nothing too crazy fancy, but also not something of lower quality. Additionally, the machine does have a milk frother, which heats up milk really, really good and to a high temperature. If you're just looking for a hot cup of milk, the frother also does that job fairly well. Overall, I'm very, very impressed with this product and I can't wait to show it off to my family and friends! Awesome product by De'Longhi!

Too complicated and no timer in, frothier makes a lot of mess

My wife and daughter are big coffee drinkers. Espresso’s are really easy to make. Latte’s, ice coffee, and a good old fashion cup of coffee taste just as good as any coffee shop if not better. It is amazing how simple it is to operate. I watched videos and on line reviews to get acclimated. The manual is pretty straight forward but there is so much to this machine. Once you get the hang of it, it's really simple. I love that you can program the keys to customize strength, serving sizes, and any other feature to make the machine perfect for you. Simply add beans and water and the machine does everything for you. You are able to put pre ground coffee in but why would you when they make it so simple. The machine is easy to clean, even the frother! For the most part, it self cleans with a other that a few rinse and wipe down. Coffee comes out fast! I bought French Vanilia flavor syrup to taste like any high premium coffee. I saw on the web some people add spices as well. It comes with a hard water filter but I didn’t need it given I have a water softer. If you like coffee shop coffee, this is definitely worth consideration. Not nly will it save you money in the long run but who wants to go out for coffee all the time when you can make it at home.

The De'Longhi - Dinamica TrueBrew machine is not only elegant, but makes great tasting coffee. It takes a few minutes to set the machine up, but the end results will be worth it. There are many adjustments to the machine that include: water harshness, coffee temperature, grind quality, etc. Make sure to follow the instructions that are included with the De'Longhi - Dinamica TrueBrew machine. One thing that I love about the De'Longhi - Dinamica TrueBrew machine is how quiet it is compared to my old Espresso machine of similar price point and quality. No more having to worry about waking up the family in the mornings. It took a bit of getting used to before I could come up with the perfect cup of coffee, but it was well worth it. If you are in the market for a coffee and espresso machine, look no further than the De'Longhi - Dinamica TrueBrew.

This coffee maker has some great features such as brewing over ice and an adjustable frother. The operation and instructions I found were a little too cumbersome to warrant a five-star rating. Pros: Easy cup size selection Adjustable frother for just milk or cappuccino Can use ground coffee or beans Drip tray and ground catcher easy to pull out and clean Grinder easy to pull out and clean Space-saving design Cons: Complicated instructions especially about using ground coffee Instructions say to just "wipe" the frother after use - doesn't seem real sanitary It does seem loud and times and slower than my other expresso machine Would like to see the reservoir for adding beans/coffee be upfront, rather than in the back, since part of the machine is under my counter Overall produces a good cup of coffee however, and easy to froth the milk.

This coffee maker is amazing! It grinds the beans for you, allows iced coffee as an option, easy to fill water reservoir, easy setup. Easy clean options + when you turn off this unit(it sprays water out to clean). Grinder is already pre set and works best with medium roast beans. Frother is user friendly and easy to clean. Overall; if you stop for starbucks / dunkin everyday - this is the unit for you.
