I bought this for my wife for our anniversary and it sucked so bad she gave me the papers 6mo later when it stopped working. It worked great for about 6 months then went to crap… kinda like my marriage actually. It worked fine until the warranty expired and then started failing. Of all the small appliances you want to work on the first try, the expensive espresso maker you bought ranks pretty darn high. Highly recommend if you want to send a VERY clear message to someone you don’t like.

The espresso side of the machine was actively turning itself on and spilling water everywhere. Essentially, it was trying to make an espresso without anyone touching anything. It would cycle through until all the water was gone, which created a mess on the counter and all over the floor, not to mention a dangerous situation as its just randomly pumping out hot water and anyone could be walking by when this happens. Over the next three days I spoke with four different customer service reps, did a video conference with another, emailed with at least two other people, sent them pictures, etc. All this to just be told that the unit is out of stock and they have no idea when it will be back in. So they'll refund my money. But I won't get even a confirmation on that until a supervisor approves that and then it goes to another department. I should also mention that Delonghi couldn't even find my warranty information. I had to send them a screenshot of the email they sent me confirming the registration. All in all, the unit was fine and the reps were nice people, but the process and broken procedures have soured me on the company. Do yourself a favor and spend a few more bucks to get a better machine.

Sent Me Used and Dirty Product

There are coffee grounds on every surface despite the “Inspected by Best Buy” tape. I’m really disappointed to be receiving my coffee maker in such a condition and there was clearly no effort to even clean the product before it was sent to me.
