Wonderful Espresso and Coffee Drinks, Not so Smart
|

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
The DeLonghi Dinamica Plus makes wonderful espresso and coffee drinks with frothed or heated milk, however, the Smart technology is not what you'd expect in 2021 on a top of the line small home appliance.
Let's start with the positives.
+The Dinamica Plus makes first-class espresso and coffee drinks and it will brew your drinks from fresh whole coffee beans that it grinds on demand. You can control the size of the grinds as well as the temperature of the water. Personally, I think the water even on max temp setting could be a little bit hotter but the fact you can choose your own beans and you only use enough for the amount of espresso or drink you choose is a huge bean saver that really allows you to spend on high quality beans of your choosing.
+The thermal carafe is an excellent upgrade to the LatteCrema system and a smart way to store milk during the week. The carafe is double-walled so it keeps milk colder while attached to the Dinamica Plus, and it is easy to store in your fridge. The LatteCrema system is fully dishwasher safe and has some dials that allow you to control froth level, but also set to a clean mode. On my Nespresso also made by DeLonghi, there were none of these features and it also had problems with different milk types or thicker milk like whole milk or even half and half. The LatteCrema system on this Dinamic Plus handles all types of milk splendidly, uniform and frothy with no issues drawing up the milk.
+The water reservoir is large and holds tons of water. The built-in coffee grinder also holds 10-12oz of beans so you won't need to fill it constantly. The unit overall is sleek and attractive and will still fit under most countertops. Its larger than my Nespresso, but still very compact for how much it does.
+The display and touch screen is large, bright and responsive. It was easy to navigate the screens with 4 drink options per page turn and I was able to quickly choose which drink I wanted without fighting the display. The sound chime was also a nice touch to confirm a button press.
+Easy to clean. It was easy to pull out the used grinds and pour out the cleaning water cycles from the drip tray. The Dinamica Plus constantly cleans itself when you power on and prior to powering down, so the drip tray is something you will need to keep an eye on if you don't want to have a cup constantly under the dispenser.
+Wide array of espresso and coffee options. Espresso, double espresso, Cappuccino, Machiatto, True Brew over ice....all options and you can even customize your own drinks as well. All drinks executed amazingly with full crema and foamy froth in your milk drinks.
My only complaints about the Dinamica Plus don't directly relate to the quality of coffee it produces, which is why I didn't take any stars off, but they are disappointing nonetheless.
-Smart functions appear limited to Bluetooth connectivity. I did some research online to see if this was actually the case and sadly it does appear the unit is only Bluetooth enabled which greatly limits how/where you can use the app from to start a drink. There's no way it will be able to start a brew for you while you're in bed unless your bed is 15 feet or less away from the coffee maker.
-No smart home options. Again, no Wi-Fi means no access to your network or smart home system, like Alexa or Google etc. Its too bad, but it would've been nice to be able to use voice commands to make some coffee.
-Starting the machine from the app is awkward and time consuming. It takes a good 15-20 seconds just to discover the sleeping Dinamica Plus and then it asks you to confirm whether or not to turn it on. In that amount of time I'd just walk over and hit the power button to wake it up.
-Can't rename the user profiles, you can only change the icon. Again, some online instructions say you can do this from the app but I didn't see any way to re-name profiles, only change profile icons. It doesn't limit the usefulness of the different profiles, but it would've been nice to re-name them to people's names or Dad, Mom etc.
-Limited cup size compatibility. About the largest cup to fit comfortably was a double-walled Bodum 10oz glass. I was able to coax a 14oz Yeti underneath as well by sliding it under the dispenser but it didn't slide right in. There's also no way to remove just a portion of the drip pan to accomodate a taller cup.
Overall like I mentioned, I didn't take off any stars because at the end of the day, the Dinamica Plus makes outstanding coffee, its just disappointing execution on the smart features that feel incomplete in 2021 on a premium home appliance like this. However, if you want the best coffee and espresso you can make at home short of buying a full barista-level espresso maker, the Dinamica Plus will satisfy your needs.

Coffee on a whole new level!

Coffee that you buy pre ground from the store is good in a pinch, but everyone wants to go to a coffee house to start their morning off right. This habit can get VERY expensive! I am proud to say that I no longer have to go to the coffee shop to get AMAZING coffee! I climb out of bed, walk to my kitchen, and fire up my De'Longhi Dinamica Plus! I used to think my old coffee maker was great. I didn't realize that fresh ground coffee from this machine would be a game changer! First of all, this machine looks great! It has a very professional, premium look. That matches the quality of the machine, as it feels like it is well made. Operations is fairly simple, however, if your relatively new to coffee you'll probably want to test the preset recipes and adjust them to your liking. The touch screen on the front gives you access to all 16 different drinks/modes that the machine has. My personal favorites are the Latte Machiato and the regular coffee feature, but you can also do just hot water and also warm milk! The detachable carafe for milk is a great feature! You can store it in the refrigerator and it also rinses itself after each use! I was intimidated at first by this machine, as I thought it would be difficult to keep clean, but that is totally false! The used coffee grounds get dumped in a bin that is easy to empty. De'Longhi recommends rinsing the mechanism inside the machine monthly with just water, and the machine rinses itself at each start up! The water tank is easy access for refilling, and the machine tells you just when it needs something! It will tell you when it is low on water, when the milk carafe knob setting needs to be changed, and when the machine needs to be descaled. It actually couldn't get any easier! The Dinamica Plus is also controllable with your smartphone! Simply download the app and link it with the De'Longhi Dinamica Plus to lie in bed and create your own custom drink before you ever get up and moving in the morning! The machine also includes a scoop for using pre-ground coffee. Simply follow the instructions on the screen of the machine. It will tell you when to add a scoop of coffee. This is nice if you run out of whole beans or if you want to use a different brand that day! Last but certainly not least, is the amazing taste of the coffee from this machine! The only way I can describe it is the coffee is smooth! It is almost silky and tastes SO much better than the coffee I used to think was good. It brews quick so you can get a start on your day with a boost of caffeine! Buy this machine if you want coffee shop quality coffee from the comfort of your own home!

This is a very expensive machine that didn't work as expected, it didn't reach 100 coffees prepared! The coffee beans grinder got stuck and there is no way to un-stuck it! thanks god this happened when I could still return it to the store! I DO NOT RECOMMEND TO BUY IT! Terrible product quality for the super high price of it!

I love coffee. I live it, drink it several times a day, and love it. I’ve had almost every machine you can think of… tiny pot brewers, k-cup machines, home espresso machines, and more! This technological workhorse outperforms every machine I’ve had over the past 20+ years!
You get a perfect, coffee-shop quality cappuccino in about the time it takes a plastic cup machine to brew. Just the perfect amount of golden espresso, frothy milk, and at the perfect drink-it-now temperature.
The easy use of the app and touch screen means even my wife, who HATES messing around with my “toys” no matter how much they improve our lives, can make herself a perfect latte in under a minute.
I estimate that this machine can easily pay for itself in the first year if you drink a daily cappuccino from a quality coffee shop and like a coffee with desserts after a good meal.
This is not the machine for people who like the over-roasted, burnt tasting gasoline shop coffee. This machine caters to the sophisticated palette of a coffee aficionado. You’ll get the sweet undertones of chocolate, citrus, hazelnut, etc from your favorite gourmet beans. It’s pricey, but worth every penny.
Did I mention how simple it is to maintain? Once a week you empty a central tray of coffee grounds. It’s so simple! The machine keeps everything on schedule!
The app is uncluttered and quickly finds the machine and loads your personal profile so you are ready to go with your drinks exactly how you like them.
I recommend using filtered drinking water in the machine, and keeping it on hand, because this goes through water quickly. It routinely cleans itself out before and after each cup, so you’ll find yourself refilling the reservoir every other day.
I highly recommend this to anyone who wants the daily corner cafe taste of a quality beverage in the sanctity of your own home. You really can’t go wrong with this machine, and you’ll thank yourself for investing in your own happiness.

I am absolutely thrilled with the De’Longhi Dinamica Plus Fully Automatic Espresso Machine with Built-in Grinder. As an espresso enthusiast, this machine has become the crown jewel of my kitchen. It combines convenience, exceptional performance, and an array of customizable options to deliver the perfect cup of espresso every time.
First and foremost, the built-in grinder is a game-changer. The freshness and flavor of the coffee are preserved as the machine grinds the beans right before brewing. The grinder offers a range of settings to customize the coarseness or fineness of the grind, allowing me to experiment and find my ideal coffee consistency. This feature alone sets the Dinamica Plus apart from other machines on the market.
The machine’s user-friendly interface and intuitive controls make it a joy to use. With just a few touches, I can select my preferred drink, adjust the strength and temperature, and even customize the amount of milk or froth. The LCD display provides clear and concise instructions, guiding me through the process and ensuring consistent results with each brew. It’s a true espresso experience at the touch of a button.
The quality of espresso produced by the Dinamica Plus is outstanding. The machine delivers a rich, full-bodied flavor with a perfect crema that rivals the taste of a coffee shop. The temperature is consistently hot, allowing me to savor the full aroma and flavors of my coffee. The extraction process is precise and efficient, resulting in a smooth and balanced cup every time.
One of the standout features of this machine is its versatility. It not only excels at brewing traditional espressos but also offers a variety of specialty drinks like cappuccinos, lattes, and macchiatos. The adjustable milk frother creates velvety microfoam, allowing me to achieve barista-quality milk-based beverages effortlessly. The ability to cater to different preferences and experiment with various recipes is a true delight.
Cleaning and maintenance are surprisingly hassle-free. The Dinamica Plus features an automatic cleaning cycle, making it a breeze to keep the machine in pristine condition. The removable components, such as the brew unit and drip tray, are easy to clean and dishwasher safe. The machine also alerts me when it’s time for descaling or emptying the used coffee grounds, ensuring optimal performance and longevity.
In terms of design, the Dinamica Plus is a sleek and elegant addition to any kitchen. The compact footprint doesn’t compromise on functionality, and the machine’s stylish aesthetics add a touch of sophistication. It’s a statement piece that not only delivers exceptional espresso but also enhances the overall ambiance of my kitchen.
In conclusion, the De’Longhi Dinamica Plus Fully Automatic Espresso Machine with Built-in Grinder has completely transformed my coffee routine. Its superb performance, customization options, ease of use, and easy maintenance make it an absolute pleasure to own. If you’re a coffee aficionado seeking the ultimate espresso experience at home, I wholeheartedly recommend the Dinamica Plus. Prepare to indulge in the perfect cup of coffee, tailored to your preferences, right in your own kitchen.

Great All-in-One Machine!

This machine is extremely impressive and intimidating if you’ve never owned an automated coffee or espresso machine. It offers 16 custom types of drinks: espresso, latte, cappuccino, regular coffee, etc. So far I have used the espresso, coffee and cappuccino settings at great length! There is a learning curve, but I think I have overcome my challenges after a week of using this.
I’m going to admit, at first the drinks tasted extremely watered down. Especially if I used the “add extra” feature. The great news though is that the machine allows you to adjust the strength settings. I have larger coffee cups, so I was able to adjust the strength of the coffee and give a good size pour without sacrificing quality. If you invest in good quality beans, you will feel like you’re in a small coffee shop. Not a chain store or something like that, but a momma and pop coffee joint. I seriously felt like a barista after I implemented the minor adjustments. Now I’m still figuring out the machine, but I LOVE how it allows you to adjust it. I’m super happy De’Longhi allows you to customize the settings, major home run for whatever team member advocated for that.
This is a machine worthy of finding a permanent spot on your counter. It’s so pretty to look at and I know it’ll cause a ton of conversations when people visit. Every time I walk by it, I want to reach for an espresso or coffee cup and use it. This machine has caused THAT much excitement in my household.
What I like best is you can buy ground or whole beans. The machine has two separate areas for the type of bean you use. You can pour your whole beans into the back grinder part, or ground beans down the middle area. You can then select bypass if you want to use the ground beans over the grinding.
This machine is Bluetooth enabled and you can connect with it via an app. This is especially cool if you have an empty cup out and want to make a quick espresso while you’re in a different room. Pull open the app and boom, espresso is brewing. You can do the other drinks as well, although I don’t recommend you leave the milk out… I think that goes without being said, but you never know. I do wish that this was WIFI enabled because it’d be super cool to sync my Google Hub with the machine. What would that do you ask? Well I’d be able to say “Hey Google, make me an espresso.” The Google Hub would say, “Ok, I will brew you an espresso.” And sure enough, I’d have my espresso. This isn’t a deal breaker, but maybe something for support to add on a future model.
LatteCrema System:
The frother uses a mixing device tat can produce foam that’ll make your guests think you worked super hard on it! It’s foolproof. There are three different frothing options and each programmable recipe (cappuccino, latte, etc.) uses a different type. The best of all is that the machine will tell you what setting to turn the knob to if the wrong one is selected.
Packaged and Cleaning:
I am super impressed with how it is packaged. The quality is superb. By the way, De’Longhi tests every machine a few times before it’s sent to the store. There’s a chance you might have what looks like ground coffee in the device, but it’s perfectly normal. Just make sure it’s not an overwhelming amount.
It’s super easy to clean this device. The great news is that it does a majority of it for you. It’s easy to remove the overflow plan and wash, as well as the hidden tray that catches the used coffee. Simple rinse with soap or warm water does the job. The milk frother has a clean setting that when used, utilizes water to get excess milk out of its components. Although it does it for you, you can still and should remove the pieces to wash by hand. After brewing, the machine will ask you to put a small cup under the coffee dispense area. It cleans itself after each use just before turning itself off.
Many of the reviews and descriptions I found say that it’s pretty silent. I’m not bothered by the beans in the grinder, but rather when the water goes through the heating process. It’s pretty loud. Not a deal breaker, just louder than what I expected. I want to reiterate that this is the first espresso machine I have owned, so it can be that I’m not use to it?
Pros:
Coffee Shop Quality
Built-in grinder
Can adjust the grind settings (fine for espresso, more coarse for coffee)
Attached milk frother
Hot water setting – Perfect cup of tea!
Bluetooth
16 drink options/customizations: espresso, latte, cappuccino, iced, regular coffee, etc.
3.5 in touch display
Self cleans!
Adjust the strength of espresso or coffee
Adjust the amount of pour
60 oz water reserve
Different areas for ground and whole beans
Cons:
Adjustments to find the perfect espresso
Tasted a little watered down at first
A bit louder than I expected
Not WIFI – Not deal breaker, but a bummer you can't connect with Google Hub or Amazon Alexa
Overall:
The more I have used this, the better I have become. I love it every time I start it up. This machine is my first automated espresso machine and I am super excited for it. I can’t say enough great things about it. As I mentioned, there’s a slight learning curve. You really can’t go wrong after you experiment with it. The more you use it, the more confident you’ll be. Now it feels like I no longer have to do that afternoon run to Starbucks, I just power up my machine!

AMAZING ESPRESSO In the Comfort of Your Home

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
1) Unpacking and Setup
The unit is boxed extremely well, and you can tell right away this is going to be a great experience. I would recommend setting the unit on the floor and having two people pull it out of the box to set on the counter. The unit looks really modern and fits right in with our other stainless steel appliances. Setup is very intuitive but it comes with a quick start guide as well. We use bottled water so we did not do anything with the hard water settings. If you are using tap water I would recommend following those steps to get the settings just right. The unit will go through a clean cycle and it does mention that it will take a few drinks while the unit balances out before the drinks will be optimal. I will mention this again later but all the drinks were amazing even from the first cup. You can load whole beans in the hopper on the top, or there is a space to load already ground beans as well.
You can set different profiles and save your drink settings for future use. So we have my setting, my wife’s setting and the kids setting, and we even have one for guest. Definitely worth the time to save your settings so in the future you can just click your profile, then your drink, and know you will get your drink the way you want each and every time.
2) Making Your First Drink
Now that you have the unit set up, it is time for the drinkology to begin. The touch display is very easy to use and walks you through all the predefined drink options. We started with a basic espresso. We went with the defaults as we wanted to see how it worked. The machine walked us through all the steps and we were brewing in no time. The spout is adjustable to fit different cup sizes. After we brewed an espresso we changed over to brew steamed milk. HELLO this is amazing. The automatic milk frother is incredible. You get 3 settings of foam, we tried them all, and we were blown away. I prefer max foam and my wife and kids prefer little foam and everyone was happy. I would like to mention here that while the automatic frother is amazing, the settings for making steamed milk are a little lacking. When you try to customize the settings you ONLY have the choice of time. (How much time will the milk be dispensed). I would prefer a volume setting here, I need to know how much volume of milk will be produced so I know if my cup will hold it. Being able to only control it in seconds is not ideal and would be better for us if we could control the volume of milk being steamed. Related to the milk customization is the fact that in the settings for a drink with both milk and espresso, you cannot control the temperature of the expresso AND the milk separately. You only get one setting. It would be great to be able to customize both in the same drink.
The unit will go through a self clean when you first power it on each time so be sure to keep an extra cup in place to catch the cleaning water before brewing. Be ready to refill your water reservoir as well depending on how many drinks you are making in each session.
3) Technology
So this area is really two extremes of the spectrum. There are parts of the technology (SMART) features I love and also this is an area of weakness that I will address later as well. You get a very nice touch screen display. You can do most of the customizations from the display but if you want to dig deeper into your settings, you will want to use the mobile app. The app is a must if you want any type of customizations. Once you have your drink set up and designed the way you want it you can “prepare” the drink right from the app. The screens change to let you know which part of the process the machine is in (heating, preparing, brewing etc…).
But this is also where the technology falls short, is with the app. We have only been able to sync ONE mobile device to the machine. Even if I sign into my account on my wife’s app, I am not able to link to the machine. So if I am not home, she is not able to use the app for any drinks. She can only use the touch display on the unit. This is really troubling as we both like to use the machine but are not always home at the same time. The app is amazing and really the way to go to prepare your drinks, but being limited to ONE device is a ding. This needs to be corrected in future version updates and allow more than one device to connect to the machine. The app is by far my favorite part of the customization experience and yet it is the most frustrating as well when only one device can be linked to the machine. It is worth noting here that each time we initiate the app on the phone it takes a long time to connect to the machine. It is bluetooth and this is by far the longest time to connect to any bluetooth device I have ever used. If they could speed the connection up to a few seconds (and allow more than one device to connect) this would be a homeroom.
4) Overall Experience
Amazing. We truly love every drink that we have made with this machine. We have tried all the preset drink choices, and the kids enjoy them as well. EVERY drink is amazing and really that is what this is about, making a high quality drink to enjoy at home. And in that regard this is a homeroom. We simply see ways to greatly improve the drink making experience by a few simple adjustments to the technology.
Likes:
- The TASTE and QUALITY of drinks
- Different profiles and being able to control and save different defaults for the drinks we make by user
- Automatic coffee grinder
- Automatic milk frother
- Digital touch screen
- The Mobile App (easier to customize then using the touch display)
Dislikes:
- Milk option for customization is only in seconds (not volume)
- You can only connect ONE account and mobile device to the machine
- Takes a long time to connect your mobile device each time
- Cannot control the temperature of the milk and the coffee at the same time in the settings.

Perfect at home Coffee Solution

I drink a lot of coffee. We have several coffee machines in the house, but I wanted something that could do regular coffee, espresso, and the occasional cappuccino. Since my job has been keeping people at home due to the continuing COVID issue, I decided to bite the bullet and get a higher-end coffee machine for our house. Figured that cost-per-use, it made sense since I have about 5 - 10 cups of coffee a day while I work.
First thing I noticed about this machine was the heft of the unit. It felt solid and sturdy and has a nice, silver-aluminum looking plastic shell. As with most coffee machines like this, it uses whole beans and then grinds them based on the strength / drink you've selected. There's an adjustment wheel in the bean compartment that you can use to adjust the amount of beans that go into a drink, I've set mine on the mid point, based on the recommended setup instructions that came with it and my coffees taste fine.
This machine also includes additional attachments for the front of the unit - there's a milk attachment for cappuccinos and other milk-mixed coffees and a regular hot water attachment for teas. I typically drink regular coffee, long-pour coffee, or espressos, so I leave the hot water attachment on there for my wife when she wants to make her tea.The selection screen is a brightly lit-LCD screen. Probably one of my favorite features is the ability to set the machine to stay on for up to 3 hours before it auto-shuts off. My other coffee machines will turn themselves off after an hour, so the ability to keep the machine on and ready is nice.
Another nice feature of this machine is the ability to support multiple user profiles, each with their own set of preferred drinks. If you download the companion app, you can also adjust the amount of oz and strength of the drinks - so when you're using your profile, your coffee is tailored to your tastes while someone else's can be to their liking.
I've been using this machine several days for the past week and I love having it here. We set up the machine in my office, so I love the ability to get an espresso or coffee whenever I like. The water tank is located on the side and holds a good amount of water, I usually refill it daily. The drop tray is also a good size, and I've only had to empty the ground coffee compartment once or twice. I would recommend using filtered water - there's a PH test you can do when you set up the machine depending on the hardness of your water. Since I use a pitcher to filter our water, I leave it set for middle of the road water hardness.
I love this coffee machine and can't think of enough nice things to say about it! It is an investment - there's no doubt of that. I rationalized it as a cost-per-use purchase. It's cheaper the more I use it - and I imagine I'll have it "paid for" before the year's out!

Good...not great

Good...not great.
After seeing how much money I was spending on Nespresso pods, I figured why not splurge on the machine and only have to buy whole bean coffee from here on out, and honestly, I'm a big fan of that so far. I love trying local roasts and having plenty of variety.
The machine itself is solid, and looks nice on the countertop. I love the milk frother, hot water spout, and the over all ease of use.
I don't love the limited height under the spots -- no travel mugs are squeezing under this baby. The "wireless connectivity" is bluetooth and honestly not that great. Milk frother is good, but if you want hot milk, don't expect it. You'll get luke warm milk to add to your hot coffee...with no ability to control milk temperature (despite the ability to control coffee temperature).
The drink customization is nice, but a bit of a pain. It would be nice to set a universal standard...especially if you usually like a certain strength and your cups are all larger size, but instead you have to either manually set each preset, or just manually set your options each time.
My biggest gripe though is that if you run low on water mid brew, the machine just stops (which is fine), but if you refill the tank, you have to go through the process all over again.
Overall I really like this machine. It took a while to figure out optimal settings, but I'm pleased...with a couple of minor exceptions.

Title: A Game-Changer for Coffee Enthusiasts - De'Longhi Dinamica Plus Espresso Machine
I recently acquired the De'Longhi Dinamica Plus Espresso Machine, and I must say, it has completely transformed my coffee routine. This sleek and sophisticated machine has exceeded my expectations, delivering a premium coffee experience right in the comfort of my home.
What sets the Dinamica Plus apart is its user-friendly design. The touch-screen interface is not only intuitive but also aesthetically pleasing. Navigating through the menu to customize my coffee preferences is a breeze, and I love the versatility it offers. Whether I'm in the mood for a strong espresso shot or a creamy latte, this machine caters to every coffee craving.
The bean-to-cup system is a standout feature, ensuring that each cup is brewed with freshly ground coffee beans. The integrated conical burr grinder allows me to fine-tune the grind size, resulting in a customized and flavorful coffee experience. The quality of the coffee produced is consistently excellent, and I appreciate the machine's ability to preserve the nuances of different coffee beans.
Maintenance is a non-issue with the Dinamica Plus. The removable brewing unit and drip tray make cleaning a quick and easy task. The machine's automatic cleaning and descaling functions add to its convenience, allowing me to focus on enjoying my coffee rather than worrying about maintenance.
The design of the Dinamica Plus is both stylish and functional. Its compact size makes it suitable for various kitchen spaces, and the stainless steel finish adds a touch of elegance. This espresso machine is not just an appliance; it's a statement piece that complements my kitchen decor.
In terms of performance, the Dinamica Plus consistently delivers outstanding results. The temperature control ensures that each cup is brewed to perfection, and the milk frother creates rich and velvety foam for those indulgent lattes and cappuccinos. The overall brewing process is efficient, allowing me to enjoy a cafe-quality coffee in no time.
While the Dinamica Plus may come with a higher price tag, the investment is well justified by the premium features and exceptional coffee it produces. If you're a coffee enthusiast looking to elevate your at-home coffee experience, the De'Longhi Dinamica Plus Espresso Machine is a top-notch choice. It's a true game-changer that brings the cafe experience to your kitchen.

The Delonghi Dinamica is the best and coolest espresso maker that I have ever used.
I love espresso; however, standard espresso machines are a lot of work. Most times they require extra tools such as bean grinders, porta filters, tampers, milk frothing cups, etc. All these accessories make cleanup a pain. Also, they require you to put too much thought and human intervention to get a decent drink. If you are anything like me, you don't want to deal with all that and just want to set it and forget it.
With the Delonghi Dinamica, you get a fully automatic espresso maker with everything you need built into one machine. It stores and grinds the beans, froths the milk to perfection and delivers an amazing cup of espresso, coffee, cappuccino, latte, and about 10 other drinks. Moreover, it cleans itself before and after each use.
Some other features I love about this machine are the user interface and touch screen. The interface is as simple as it can be. All I had to do was scroll through the drink options and touch the drink I wanted. The machine did everything else to include displaying graphics to show me where it was in the process of making my drink. It also allowed me to intervene and stop the process if I wanted less milk or espresso in my drink. Additionally, I was also able to create custom drinks.
Another great feature is the "lattecrema" system. I absolutely love this thing. It heats up exactly the amount of milk I need and keeps the rest cold in its double walled container. Which means I don't waste any unused milk. And, just like the rest of the machine, it cleans itself after each use.
Overall, this is the perfect espresso machine for my lifestyle. I highly recommend it to anyone that wants a perfect bean to cup espresso drink but doesn't want to do all the work and cleaning that comes with a standard espresso machine.

Before purchasing the delonghi dinamica duo machine i was spending an average of $50 a week in coffee at local shop sometimes even more, so i decided to purchase this for its ease of use and for the variety of drinks it can make, and it’s worked out great, this machine is able to make 16 different type of drinks with it’s automatic milk frother, its also easy to use, you only need to make sure you have water in the tank and coffee in the grinder! After that you only 1 click away from whatever drink you want, after its done the used coffee drops in a basket that you can slide out and dump in the garbage, needles to say, i no longer spend money in coffe outside and it make just as good coffee as any of the big shops out there! Even better l, im able to pick what coffe i buy. Yes its an investment that pays it self back by saving you from spending on coffee on the big name store in the long run

I have used "manual" espresso machines in the past and the product has been amazing. I never thought the experience of hand crafting home drinks could get easier, or improved in any way...I was wrong. This new and improved model expedites the process and takes and questions out of the entire process. The LCD touch screen really makes it easy for you to choose exactly which drink you making and what to expect in terms of timing until finish. Simply add beans into top feed bin, make sure water is filled off and then sit back and enjoy!
One neat feature that I like is how easily this machine kicks out the used grinds, after each drink is made, a small circular disc of compacted grinds is kicked into a disposal reservoir... no clean needed, simply empty the disposal container. This unit also comes with a built in milk frother or hot water spout attachment which makes drink creation a breeze... the on screen walk through really makes it a breeze when selecting which drink you are wanting to make.
All in all, I highly recommend this machine as the next best thing to be used in terms of crafting in home coffee/espresso drinks. Cleaning is a breeze, set up is even easier and the products that come out of this unit are top notch.

My wife and I absolutely love this machine! It makes the best cappuccinos and espresso we’ve ever had at home. The built-in grinder is super convenient, and the machine is easy to use and clean. We’ve had zero issues, and the quality of each cup is consistently excellent. If you’re looking for a reliable, fully automatic espresso machine that delivers coffeehouse-quality drinks, I highly recommend this one. It’s been a game-changer for our mornings!

I purchased this machine to replace an expensive habit of purchasing a flavored latte daily. I've had instant and manual espresso machines in the past, but I always end up only using them occasionally due to the time or quality of the drinks. I wanted a machine that could easily do everything before I dashed out the door while still tasting like a coffee shop made it. This machine is that and more! I love being able to easily customize preset drinks as well as create some presets on the app. I've had no issues connecting or controlling the machine through the app. It's also so easy to customize size and strength that even guests can use it without any issues. The profiles make it easier to provide different members of the household quick access to their favs. My family uses it every day and the maintenance is so easy. I'm almost always on the go and have found several to-go mugs that fit well underneath it. Overall, I love being able to make quick and delicious customized espresso drinks without compromising on flavor and quality. I've recommended it to everyone who shares my proclivities for customized espresso drinks as it will easily pay for itself within no time.

From Philips LatteGo 3200 to the DeLonghi Dinamica

I purchased the Dinamica Plus to replace the Philips LatteGo 3200 that I've had for the past three years. Initial impressions in the first week are that the DeLonghi drink quality is better, the drink customization is significantly better, and the machine looks sharper on the countertop.
The one main downside vs the Philips is the cleanup when making milk-based drinks. There are a couple extra steps in the process. I'm willing to deal with that for the better steamed milk that comes with the DeLonghi, but it should be noted. The Philips LatteGo system was basically two parts (plus a lid) so it was easily to rinse and put in the dishwasher. The Dinamica is six parts that have to be taken apart, which means more cleaning/rinsing.
- The Dinamica's espresso is much closer to what you'd get in a shop, whereas the Philips espresso was really just a concentrated shot of coffee.
- The Dinamica's milk frother is noticeably better than the LatteGo's in terms of foam. That said, it still isn't the same as using a steam wand. It's decent, but a tradeoff with the convenience of a fully automatic. The Dinamica lets you adjust how much froth you want, which is nice.
- A regular cup of coffee tastes good, I think on par with the Philips machine.
- The ability to customize each drink (liquid volume, amount of beans used, degree of milk foam) is nice. I think the Bluetooth-connected app is the best way to make initial configurations.
I haven't had enough time to determine how clean the internals of the machine will stay over prolonged use. I can say that the Philips machine was awful in this respect. There were so many nooks and crannies based on the plastic design that it was impossible to get everywhere inside clean, and because water and coffee seemed to eventually get into those places, mold could develop requiring a significant cleaning effort.

The De'Longhi Dinamica Plus really is a 'one machine does it all', fully automatic espresso machine. And at $1500, it really does need to 'wow' you, and do it all.
Thankfully I can report that this machine is incredible! My wife is the coffee connoisseur in the household, she likes her coffee a specific way, and she was absolutely blown away by the Dinamica Plus.
To start with, the machine looks fantastic on your countertop. It's sleek design, relatively compact profile and color tone really look great. Setting the machine up was a breeze, step by step instructions, not only in the printed quick guide, but also on-screen on the 3.5" digital touchscreen display on the front. Clear and crisp graphics tell you to run a couple of cups through the system to start with, to make sure that all of the mechanism inside is clean. You are guided when to attach the water spout, or to replace it with the LatteCrema System, for frothing/foaming/heating your milk. There are 6 buttons on the front to set up the machine, set your cup size, brew strength, user profiles etc.
We started by adding fresh grounds to the 10.5oz grind hopper on top. It has 13 settings, using the rotary dial located inside the hopper lid. Adjusting the coarseness gives you the choice over the boldness of flavors and aroma. The grinder works exceptionally well, and is not 'that' noisy.
First time out, there was a little guessing game as to where to put your cup first, under which one of the spouts! The machine did a self clean before brewing the first coffee. Over time, looking at the screen prompts, this gets easier! The thermal carafe is superb. It is double walled so keeps your milk a lot fresher than other machines we've used in the past, and stores the milk in the refrigerator for next time use without issues. Even the LatteCrema System does a self clean after each use, negating the need for you to have to go in there and clean it after every coffee which is a real time saver, and really helps you enjoy your coffee more. It's like some kind of ethereal magic going on inside the machine, how clean it keeps itself. And talking of clean, slide the metal topped drip tray out, to reveal the grounds bucket. Even that, when pulled out, has neat little discs of discarded coffee grounds, making it really simple to clean up. You are recommended to clean the main removable brewing mechanism once a month. Having only had the machine a week we haven't done that yet.
Onto the coffees - We prepared several coffees right out of the gate to see how it would perform. The LatteCrema System uses the afore mentioned magic to create luxurious, velvety foam with an incredible density, almost as if you could eat it like a marshmallow, instead of drinking it! Adjust the dial, and you can have a softer, more frothy feel to your foam, or, lower the dial again, and your hot milk will be creamy, smooth and ready for a hot chocolate. We tried those 3 to start with and they all came out perfect! As I said, my wife was blown away that an automatic system could make a drink this well.
The coffees this machine can serve up for you are Espresso Macchiato, Cappuccino, Cappuccino Mix, Cappuccino+, Coffeelatte, Latte Macchiato, (Hot Milk) and Flat White. This machine can ALSO create an amazing iced coffee! Out of the gate, we made a cappuccino. It tasted amazing! Creamy, smooth, flavorful and aromatic. Next up was a Latte Macchiato, to put the LatteCrema System through its paces. Thick foam on top, smooth coffee and creamy milk below. Then on with a mug of hot milk (for a silky hot chocolate), and then finally, the iced coffee. Yes, I said it, an iced coffee. We have (the operative word should now be 'had') a dedicated iced coffee maker, but the Dinamica Plus makes an astounding iced coffee. And all of these drinks were made from one fill of the water reservoir. It has a great capacity, and a dedicated water filter in the middle as well.
You can set up and save 'user profiles' that store your favorite coffee options, so you can recall them at the touch of a button. This is handy with multiple coffee drinkers in the household. You can download the De'Longhi Coffee Link app, connect to your machine and brew coffee via bluetooth. In our experience, the brewing part works well (sending the signal to the machine and creating the coffee - check out the pictures), but the user interface is still a little clunky at times, and the lack of wifi connectivity makes the range somewhat limited to about 30ft (standard bluetooth range). Not a deal breaker, we were able to summon a hot cup of coffee from the sofa, without raising more than a finger to tap on the phone screen. However, when launching the app, we've been asked to input our location, re-enter our password and select our machine several times, so it's not a slick and smooth process there, but the actual menu for the beverages looks great and is very intuitive. Instructions on the app are spot on too, they take you through step by step stages for each drink creation.
Overall, we are really, really impressed with this machine, yes, it's expensive, but I think the actual quality of the beverages, the luxuriousness of the lattes, and the foam are in keeping with the price point. The quality of the machine is fantastic, and the ease of use is second to none. And the self cleaning is almost worth the price of entry alone!
You won't be disappointed with the quality of the coffee this machine makes at all. You can adjust the temperature of the water, the strength of the coffee, the coarseness of the grind, the density of the foam and size of the coffee you make. The adjustable dispensing spout aids the addition of larger cups, however, you can't remove the drip tray to get a larger insulated cup in there. That would have been a nice option.
Very impressed with the De'Longhi Dinamica Plus.

Decided to splurge a bit on a super automatic espresso machine. Have not been disappointed so far. Machine is easy to use, clean and connect to via the app. The Coffee Beans make the espresso, low quality beans means low quality espresso no matter the machine. If you can I recommend finding a local roaster near you instead of buying name brand coffee beans. Took a little bit to find settings (Quantity, Grind and Aroma) that make my perfect espresso but thats apart of the fun of it.
Currently don't use the milk frother, seemed to work well the few times I've used it.
Would recommend, especially if its on sale like it currently is.

I really loved this machine! It brews amazing flavored espresso! I saved so much money and time by buying this machine. I would highly recommend this machine for anyone who drinks coffee daily and wants a machine that cleans itself and automatically makes espresso without you having to go through the manual process. This machine was my morning life saver! The reason I gave this machine 4 stars is because I purchased this machine in December and the hot milk carafe stopped getting hot in January. Best Buy only had a 15 day return policy so I had to contact the manufacturer. After many phone calls, they told me they would replace it with a refurbished machine. I later found out that they were out of stock of this machine. It was frustrating mainly because of the price of the machine. It is way too expensive for issues like this. Just be mindful of all return policies and exactly what happens if you have to use your warranty.
