This machine makes an excellent espresso, especially considering its cost. I recently visited a friend with a professional level machine and its espresso was not significantly better! 1) The 2 cup portafilter that comes with it is too small for a true 2 shot cup (< two scoops) which I like for my morning cup. So I replaced it with a compatible bottomless portaflter and Agatige 51 mm 2 cups pressurized filter basket from Amazon. 2) I also replaced the plastic tamper with a wood/ steel tamper from Amazon. A 51 mm dosing funnel is also very handy. 3) We buy good quality beans and grind them in a burr grinder them for each cup - very important. 3) We have not used the steamer. Love it.

Wonder espresso every time. Does need to be cleaned after each use.

I bought this espresso maker solely as a temporary fill-in while my Gaggia Babila was sent to be repaired. I selected this model for a few reasons. First of all DeLonghi has a decent reputation, 2nd It has a 15 bar pressure system what you're looking for in an espresso maker for proper extraction, pretty good reviews, finally the price, with all that said I couldn't beat the price, especially if you have built up any rewards with Best Buy. I purchased it selecting store pick up. Because of the hassle of finding parking space (selected curbside pickup) I decided to go inside and get it. Once inside there were no issues at all. The clerk told me they had only one employee handling bringing out items for curbside pick up. During the Holiday season?? As for the machine, I followed the set up and first use instructions implicitly. The quality of the machine is pretty good. the parts under pressure are metal and seem to do a good job. The boiler is not the best but adequate for the size of the machine. It will allow you to pull a couple shots without a problem once fully heated. The steam wand is just OK. Don't try and froth a large amount of milk. It will do enough for a couple of lattes or cappuccinos. Finally it is a rather small machine and won't take up a lot of counter space.

I researched and this one seemed the best low priced machine. It does not disappoint. Makes a great cup with excellent crema. I did buy a better tamper and a distributor. I like lattes so I use the steamer to froth milk and try and make some art. Still working on it. I did have issues with removing the water container and reinstalling it. Seemed to get water in the area where the weep port is from repeated removals and reinstalling. I just decided to leave it in and fill from a cup. No signs of leaking.

Exceptional budget friendly espresso machine! Better than expected…

For a lower-price cappuccino maker, this really is a very good machine, and I would definitely purchase it again. I also have a more expensive De’Longhi machine, which cost about $200 more than this one. This machine takes longer to heat up, but it makes good espresso drinks, is solidly built, and is easy to clean. I gave it 4 stars because it doesn’t have all of the features of a more expensive machine, but I would give it 5 stars for those who are exclusively looking in this price range.

Never owned an espresso machine before but this one was very affordable and I'd say it works great! The steamer is fun to use and easy, just a little trial and error and maybe some Google searches should do the trick! Otherwise I'm super happy with this machine and I use it almost every morning now rather than going to starbucks

Excellent value, we replaced a more expensive machine--different brand--that we continual problems with, with thid one. Glad we did. We did buy a calibratated tamper to go with it, which helped. Even with that, much cheaper than other options we considered, and great coffee.

For the price, it’s an excellent machine that delivers barista quality espresso. A little noisy but I can make due for the coffee.

I really wanted to start experimenting with lattes and iced coffees and this machine hasn’t let me down. It is great for those on a budget (like myself) and fairly easy to use. I’ve yet to master latte art with this machine but it does pour tasty espresso shots all the time! I do wish the machine wasn’t so shaky as I have to hold my two cups of espresso while it’s pouring the shot because it will vibrate to much to stay in place. But apart from that, great machine overall!

I use this bad boy daily and it has not disappointed me one bit. I picked up a different steaming nozzle.. not needed but it gets a better consistency for sure. Be mindful of the grind you use. Considering its size, an ultra fine grind packed tight makes a pretty slow cup..

I can appreciate a wonderful cup of espresso coffee in the morning without having to leave my house! It functional and very easy to use. I like that I received a single and double cup so I can serve just the right amount of espresso each time. I make more iced cups of coffee than hot, but I have tried to froth my milk and it came out perfect, thick and airy. Wonderful long term investment that saves me a ton of money each week and allows me to have great tasting coffee at home!

This is my first espresso machine to get started into making my drinks at home. Easy to use and a great beginner machine. Timeless coloration and design will make this a long lasting product!, thank u Delonghi!!!

If you love coffee then this is a real treat for you. for the price this machine is amazing. it is compact and lightweight. easy to maintain and clean, give you strong and robust coffee. It does not offer an automatic feature like one of the expansive ones, but for this price this machine is outstanding. Easy to use. If you are new to the espresso/coffee machine, then this is the best entry-level machine for the beginner.

Bought this as a gift for my mother in law. She says this is the best coffee machine! Makes coffee and adds foam to it. Quick and easy to use.

Overall I like this coffee machine, and coffee is so good. Easy to maintain. This is my second De'Longhi Espresso machine and both have the same problem - I am using it to make 2 cups of coffee and often the water runs not evenly into 2 cups, which means that coffee in one cup is stronger then the other. This is why I put 4 stars.
