This game is a masterpiece. It's beautiful and deep and engrossing. However it does have it's warts. Very far apart checkpoints, for example. If you die, the walk back to the boss is long and boring, and tedious full of enemies. Newer games in the franchise corrected these mistakes so expect this game to show it's age design-wise. Another example of poor design, the last boss of the game has a very long elevator ride where you do nothing. Nothing at all. Each time you die you have to run all the way back and then ride that thing up. However, if you can stomach these weird choices, you find a masterpiece of a game that has true next-gen graphics and sound design and a beautifully crafted world. This game is HARD, do not expect to breeze through it.

another great addition to the dark souls genre! Never played the original so, glad they did the remake.

It was great fun going through Fromsoft's original reimagined by Bluepoint Games. Games oozes atmosphere, and the challenge is very satisfying. Definitely recommend to anyone who wants to experience the game that started it all!

This game is a must buy! Hands down, the best game I have ever played! Fromsofts soul series games are THEEE best in the industry and the gameplay experience they offer is second to none. Now that I’ve been introduced to BluePoint, I can confidently say that they are among the best (if not THE best) with graphics and design. The graphics and attention to detail in this game are the BEST I have ever seen (of course it is on a next gen console but still). It will blow your mind. All the gushing aside, if you haven’t been introduced to souls games yet AND this style of game is up your ally ABSOLUTELY get it! Once you’re hooked (which you will be) clear your calendar for the next 12-18 months because you’ll be getting Dark Souls, Dark Souls 2, Dark Souls 3, Bloodbourne, and Sekiro and if you’re REALLY lucky right around the time you’ve finished all of them you’ll be able to get Elden Ring!

Even if you played the original, this game is still awesome. Same old game, way better graphics, and smooth gameplay at 60fps. My only problem is paying practically $70.00 for a remake, or any new game at all. Some of these new gen games are just overpriced.

Great game if you like the "Souls series" graphics are clean on quality 4KTV. Gameplay is what you'd expect from the souls game. Challenging. Would recommend as your first PS5 game too. It will keep you busy till the other bangers release.

This game is beautiful. It takes advantage of the next gen capabilities of the PS5. Hardly any loading, and when it does, it's nearly instant. The graphics are sharp and the framerate is perfect (in performance mode at least). It doesn't utilize ray-tracing, but it will still impress you visually. As far as the gameplay goes, it is very difficult. This isn't a typical third-person action game. The Souls/Bourne genre require you to concentrate on timing and patience. You will die A LOT and there is much backtracking and repeating routes. You will end up knowing these levels very well. If you're not prepared to dedicate yourself to learning the ins and outs of this game to beat it, just steer clear of anything with Souls or Borne in the title. But I recommend every "gamer" to give this one a shot. The whole experience of Demons Souls is well worth the hair you'll lose.

TL/DR A difficult game, but highly rewarding while delivering next visuals. This game delivers a true next gen experience! Did not play the original and cannot speak to the "remake experience" but as my 1st Souls game I haven't had this much fun since God of War. Playing at 60 fps is a game changer. The ps5 handles it well but I will say there is 1 time each gaming session that I get a 2-4 second freeze of game play, not a big deal, but some might complain. When defeating a challenging boss the reward is monumental, no pun intended. The stats can be difficult to understand. Kind of wish they had tutorial on this. Also the colored stone's uses are difficult to understand, but a YouTube explanation is all you need. I was afraid of using stones to figure out what they do because you cannot create separate save files, thus one time use only.

Faithfully recreated the PS3 original, played like I remember and the new graphics are beautiful. As a "remaster'' I don't think its worth a $60-70 value think $50 is well worth it

This game is amazing. The graphics are awesome especially after considering that it is a remake. I personally think its one of the easier souls-borne games but it is still pretty difficult. I highly recommend it.

Demon souls is a great challenging game. It has many areas to expand your quest. The Bosses are challenging but the rewards are satisfying. I recommend it.

Never played the original game on my PS3 but I'm glad I waited. This remake looks fantastic on the PS5. The difficulty can be a bit challenging but practice and you shall succeed.

Played this game a ton. One of the all time best if you like difficult games. Very rewarding when you finish a level. Great graphics and loads quickly on the PS5.

Wonderful remake to the original--I have both. Recommend for fans of the original and fans of the Souls series. This is where it started for many of us--this has unique challenges vs the Souls series.

New to the series but I like it so far, even though it's tough and I keep dying. Incredible graphics and fast load times. Definitely a good launch title and recommend it if you have patience and like a good challenge.

This game is awesome! My first time playing the first souls game and it's challenging but beautiful also. Taking some time getting use to the enemies and their attacks but more the less loving this game! A must play!

If you played the ps3 original you know these games are hard and you will die a lot. But the challenge is so satifying plus this remaster the graphics are unreal.

The game is amazing. The graphics are nice and the flow of the game is smooth. This game is very challenging and you will die several times. I would recommend this game to anyone who likes a challenging game.
