Great sound quality, easy to control. A bit tricky to originally connect.

We like the sound. The nuance of instruments is noticeable and dynamic. Separation of channels is good. Now the bad. Owned it for less than two weeks and had to call Denon tech support because the Setup Menu would not display on the TV. This issue was resolved by unplugging the unit for a while and letting it reset. Now (after less than a month of ownership) we are having an issue with the video. The picture would stay on for a few seconds, then go black, then back on and off again. The pattern just kept repeating itself every time we shut down the system and rebooted. We tried unplugging the unit for 30 minutes to reset, but had the same result. We isolated the issue to the receiver by changing cables, then hooking the source directly to the TV. After the AVR being unplugged for two days, it is kind of working again. When booted up, it may or may not produce sound or picture. Very frustrating!

Fantastic receiver for the money! It replaced my very old Yamaha HTTR-5740 and I am not disappointed. It renders any sound signal that it receives (HD all the way up to ATMOS) and it has lots of useful features built-in include casting and 2 zones.

Denon is a great company. Have always wanted a Denon receiver, and finally broke down and bought one. However, I find that the receiver does not play well with Samsung TV products. I have had to upgrade all my HDMI cables, which did solve a few problems, but the TV and receiver still do not play well together, I love the Bluetooth option and the fact that it connects to my Wi-Fi. It has beautiful sound, and I love the Dolby Atmos features as well. I can play music straight from my phone or computer to the receiver. Overall a great product. But if you own Samsung TVs, I would definitely do your homework before you buy a Denon product to hook up to it unless you’re willing to deal with all the little hiccups. 

This is an awesome receiver! After owning a Sony receiver for over 15 years (which was considered budget-friendly state-of-the-art at that time), I recently decided to upgrade. So I did some research. I looked at Sony, Yamaha, Pioneer, and Denon. I settled on this Denon, seeing that it was a bit more powerful than my Sony and gave me expansion potential from my 5.1 speaker setup to 7.1 or 7.2 speakers. It also had a built-in pre-amp for my turntable, which my previous receiver lacked. Add to all of that the Dolby specs and the numerous HDMI and optical inputs as well as some RCA inputs and I am a happy musical and cinematic audiophile! It also has Denon's HEOS multi-room wireless capabilities for streaming throughout your home. I can heartily recommend this receiver. Feel free to look at other receivers; Denon has some with more speaker potential, for instance. But if you're looking for a high-quality system for 5 or 7 speakers, you can't go wrong with this one. I gave it 4-stars on ease-of-use only because it has so much it can do, I'm still adjusting to it. But it *is* a very good system.

I have had Denon equipment in the past and have always valued the quality of sound, durability of equipment, flexibility. This piece is no exception - they put the "qua" in quality! Even though it will do more than I want of need I still value this piece.

This is a great receiver, so easy to setup with plenty of hdmi plugins. They supplied labels to put on all of the speaker wires and wires for cd/dvd player, turntable and other accessories. Instructions were so easy to follow, even I got it right the first time. The receiver sets up the speaker outputs with sound tones for each speaker. The first dvd I played was the Matrix and WOW!! My 30year old Bose speakers sounded fantastic, I had the house shaking. Yeah, so was my wife, had to turn it down. Next time. Absolutely buy this receiver.

The Denom AVR-S770H is easy to setup. The sound is very clear and full with the picture looking crisp and clear.Always been happy with Denon recever

I am rebuilding my home theater and I needed a receiver that supports HDMI 2.1 for better 4k presentation on my new TV. This Denon AVR S 770H checked all the boxes for my needs. It's affordable, looks great, sounds great, and fits in my Tv stand. Happy with this purchase.

This receiver is top notch. It is pricey, but love the sound that it produces. I have this paired with Klipsch speakers. I upgraded from a decent mid range Onkyo that I wanted to use in my office paired with Polk Audio speakers. So overall with the Denon and the Klipsch speakers I am very pleased with this purchase.

Returned an onkyo reciever due to issues with hdmi switching. Exchanged for the Denon which has great sound and much better interface for menus and setup guide with better auto sound eq calibration. Smooth tones for eq vs loud as heck static for onkyo calibration. Sounds realistic and natural not modified va original song.

I think this is a very good product the connections are labeled an easy for speaker wires and wireless hookup. But, easy ends there, the online manual isn't that helpful as far as explanations of what does what or what to do for sound improvement. I am still trying to find EQ settings as it appears they are all preprogrammed channels and no manual adjustment for EQ, Just playing around with it I got it to sound pretty good. But it took a lot of time and reading & tweaking to get there. The remote is only useful for sound as it didn't integrate with the TV remote ? I need to do more research and tweaking. To arrive at it's optimal performance parameters.

I've only had this receiver for several weeks, but I am extremely happy with what I purchased. Set up was easy and the results were outstanding.

We were pushed to updating our receiver so our new Smart TV would be compatible, as well as, so the sound/speaking would better synch with the TV. Well, it doesn’t! Expensive salesman pitch.

Sounds fantastic. Easy to use, nice on screen set up. I bought this for the multiple 8k/120hz inputs. PS5 and Xbox here we come!

It's ok except for the broken atena I had to fix. Once fixed it works perfectly would of been nice if they would of told me. But I am happy with it now.
