Awesome worth the money works well with the klipch speakers

Love it but it’s a little complicated to get the base to work .. Had to watch a lot of YouTube videos .

Doing what I expected! Geek squad came and installed perfectly!

After returning a competing manufacturer's product (see my other review) I decided to try Denon. I have seen other reviews saying they made a great product but I'd never owned one. I can say now this is a great receiver and I'm very satisfied with it. Setup was super simple thanks to the great instructions. I was able to get all my peripherals connected and working including an old Wii console and a VERY old Optimus 6 disc CD changer. The sound quality is great, the remote is simple to use and the eARC function works like it's supposed to (one of my major complaints about the other receiver). There is a bit of a compromise in the Dolby Atmos department which is not an issue for me. You can either have 7.2 horizontal surround sound or you can hook up your rear surround outputs to atmos speakers (and position them front or rear). There are no provions for 4 atmos speakers. Again, not a problem for me as i don't have the speakers or the titles for atmos but just something to bear in mind. You would have to go well beyond this price point to have that capability. All in all a great receiver.

Previous to this, and only for about a week, I had purchased an Onkyo TX-NR696 that unfortunately didn't meet my expectations, especially given its price point. I picked this unit up in exchange (HUGE props to Best Buy for making this process smooth). The member pricing at the time of my purchase actually put this receiver just slightly less in price than the Onkyo TX-NR696 despite its much higher normal price. Setting this unit up was very easy with the built-in setup guide and I had no issues getting it configured to my room and equipment. Once that was done and I began watching things via my Roku TV, record player, and built-in streaming audio options it was very clear this receiver is in an entirely other class than the Onkyo. It's been a long time since I can recall a single product making such a profound improvement in the sound of my home theater room, but this rose to the occasion. If you're even remotely considering this model, don't walk, run and go get one. It's phenomenal. Huge props to Denon for knocking this out of the park.

The Denon - AVR-S970H receiver not only looks greats but performs better than expected. The sound puts you in the place you are watching. Coupled with my 86” Sony Tv the picture just shoots out at you. Color so vibrant you can almost touch the flowers in the garden. Sound so great that that train you see is really going through my family room. You feel like you’re in a concert hall when you play music through the many different options available to you. All in all a great choice for the value.

Bought this to be compatible with the new LG OLED tv I bought. Was pleased with how easy it was to setup with my current configuration. So far I'm very pleased with the purchase.

I initially thought that I had ruined my last receiver. I went into best buy and was going to purchase the same one but the sales associate pointed me in the direction of this Denon receiver. I thought it to be a little pricey at first but it is worth the penny you spend for it. Really easy to set up and the quality level it provides is outstanding. Even if you don't have a 7.2 or even 7.1 set up, it works perfectly with a 5.1. Highly recommend having Dolby Atmos Speakers to really take full advantage. I loved my Yamaha but this Denon is a really nice upgrade

The initial setup was fairly easy, as you just connect the HDMI to display the menu on the tv and it shows the directions on how to connect the speakers and subwoofer. The receiver has all the modes necessary for each occasion, (movies, music, etc). The remote has the full button layout for every action including the option for eco mode which I highly recommend. If you don’t want to turn off your receiver manually after your done using it. The sound quality is great and makes you feel like your in a movie theater on movie mode. Overall I would recommend this for a budget friendly receiver with all the high end specs.

I bought this to connect my existing Klipsch speakers to, along with a new LG OLED TV. The Geek Squad connected everything for me, and the sound quality is great. The only negative thing that I will say is that I like to watch sports on TV while spinning albums. This isn't possible because the minute I change the receiver input, the TV follows it. I contacted Best Buy's Geek Squad, and they couldn't help. So when you play albums, you're stuck looking at the Denon logo on your TV.

Excellet AVR, easy set up guidance, excellent room balancing equipment included, great options for use, not to mention the great sound.

Denon Avr-s970h receiver purchase, I replaced my 10 year old Denon receiver that had a bad output. Glad it happened because this S970H is awesome connected to my Tcl 75 inch and klipsch surround sound speakers. Perfect match and tuning with the included audyssey microphone.

Perfect sound quality and the setup was beyond easy.

This is Denon’s previous generation home receiver. I purchased an open box of this unit when I was desperate for something in-store better than a JBL receiver that was not working well for me. Although I had to return this unit due to a non-functioning remote control (probably why it was open box), I was able to set it up using a universal remote control so my evaluation is based on actually using it. The features on the AVR-S970H are impressive. Lots of HDMI inputs, two outputs, 90W power, Audessey room calibration, network streaming capabilities and much more. However, for significantly less money, I was able to purchase a brand new AVR-X line Denon receiver that had almost all of the same features (certainly the ones I need) and I presume will likely be more future proof.

After serious product research and comparison shopping, we finally chose this Denon AVR. We've owned Denon electronics in the past and know the company produces excellent products. With Best Buy's Black Friday promotion, the purchase decision was easy and just to good to pass up.
