Wow, this receiver is awesome. Connected automatically with all of my connected hardware, e.g., Apple TV, Samsung TV. The video display quality of low resolution video noticeable improved. The sound is amazing.

A welcome upgrade from my previous receive with even more features and great sound. With my 5.2.4 set up, it handles all the sound fields with ease and with the multiple 8k HDMI inputs, it covers all my next gen video game systems with no issues, and I love the new GUI from the previous one. A little pricey than some others, but I was able to get this on sale. A great buy.

Replacing a 4700 unfortunately. Quieter turn on and off. Similar sound quality and dynamics as the 4700 but the Dirac Live availability is what drew my attention. Way more expensive option but cant argue with the results! Dirac and this Denon are a great match.

The Denon X4800H AVR is great for cinema and music listening. With many options for different formats, this AVR is a good receiver to use. Getting a good fan to cool down the overheating receiver is highly recommended
Hello Garage1. We appreciate you taking the time to submit your findings with your upgrade from the AVR-X3800H to the AVR-X4800H. The discrete amplifcation circuitry in the AVR-X4800H provides higher current delivery the models below it in our current AVR line-up, and allows it to perform on a level which welcomes a much wider range of speakers to be considered. Thank you for your loyaly to Denon.

For the price this is the best mid-range receiver before the high-end models. The 4800 is the sweet spot that doesn't disappoint. I ran 5.1.4 with SVS Speakers and it sounds great. If you are bi-amping or need the extra channels I would suggest a higher model or buy separate amp to power the remaining two channels. Personally, I prefer to have it all in one box (AVR) which is less complicated for me.
Hello. Thank you for detailing your findings with the AVR-X4800H. It's a model packed with convenience and value, offering a heavy hint of the high end models without the high-end pricing.

Second Denon, I have owned. 4800 Blows my old 23 year old reciver away. Hooked to 25 years old Boses and 1 Sub. Bought Klipish Atmos height speakers and used the Calibration system that came with 4800. All I can say is WOW. What a system to match with my LG G4. Awesome !!!

I was between this and the AVR-X3800H. I decided on this for the additional power and due to the fact that it is built in Japan with supposedly higher grade components. I hope this choice pays off in the long run. As of now, I have no complaints. It effortlessly powered my THX-465IW monoliths which are 4 ohm nominal. Just make sure to apply the 4 ohm setting in the receiver.

This receiver replaced a 15 year old Marantz as I wanted to upgrade capabilities. I needed the new receiver to handle 4K video and wanted the dialog enhancer. It was easy to set up, performs fine, I purchased when it was on sale, and I like it.
Thank you for the positive feedback, and I hope you enjoy your new receiver for years to come!

A true technological marvel. Not only great sound, but features so advanced many things which before required extra cables and input switching no longer needed. Caught it on sale and is certainly one of the finest 9.4 receivers on the market without being insanely expensive. Not cheap, but an awesome receiver.
Dear Techguy, We want to express our gratitude for your positive feedback on our Denon AVR-X4800H receiver. We truly appreciate your kind words. Sincerely, Denon

Replaced a Denon 4200W with this. So far so good. The setup menu is a great experience, but if you go 'back' through it, it gets a little confused. I suggest running through setup clean with no back steps.
The newer Denon remote doesn't control other devices' power on/off, etc. compared to the remote that came with the 4200W.

Smooth warm sound signature, setup is painless and straightforward.
I wish input selectior knob had more click feedback, and price was less steep, other than that no cons.
Hello JOANDSU. We appreciate you taking the time to submit your thoughts on the AVR-X4800H. Thank you for choosing Denon.

This replace ( though my old Denon bought in 1983) still worked great. I just could not build a system around it. So many, yes! many years later this my purchase to last another 40+ years. Now building an audio & video system around this is largely more then - who knows, I'm still exploring...
