I held off posting a review until I hit Level 20 to get a good feel for this. Destiny was an interesting experience as the base game as released just felt...lean. Once they fleshed it out with expansions, it really came into it's own. Here, They did a much better job setting up the campaign so each individual world feels more like a central hub, with a focused character in each area giving you a feeling that you really are there to accomplish something. However, time will tell if the single worst design decision will bring down this game: microtransactions. In Destiny 1, two items made by the same company at the same level could have very different effects. In this game, there are empty mod slots on those weapons...and mods and shaders to customize anything are a one use item. You can get more if you'd like...just give Bungie more money. *sigh* Yep, this game looms like a ftp moba game - one that they charged you full price for. This 'feature' single handedly knocks this game from a solid five star game to four, if not lower. Overall - still not as much randomness as a Borderlands game, but much improved from the first entry in the series. If you can stand that the gameplay really is nothing more than shoot lots of enemies, only occasionally interrupted by using a special power so you can kill even more enemies, then you should love this game.

I bought and played (vanilla) Destiny when it first launch. Beat it and it never really hooked me. I heard when the expansions hit it got a lot better but the ship had already sailed for me by the time those came out. Destiny 2 on the other hand completely different story. It got its hooks in me from the start and haven't stopped playing it since release date. Without getting into specific details about everything, this game has improved from the first one and has made the grinding much more enjoyable. If you have your doubts because you felt burned from Destiny1 I would tell you to go into it with an open mind and give it a chance. That is what I did and I have been having tons of fun dumping hours into it without realizing how much time Ive actually put into it. So much fun!

I really enjoyed Destiny 2 so far but see myself hitting a wall at a certain point with it. Destiny 2 , like the 1st, is the type of game where it pays to have friends. I am a solo player and while i love the story , graphics and gun play in the game I realize that I will be missing a lot of endgame content because of this. While this does't bother me, most gamers will not care for this aspect of the game if they tend to be solo players. It also has the potential to be a huge timesink like WOW. Overall though I am pleased with my purchase!

    An Improvement Over The Original

The original Destiny was a very important game to me, personally. I made friends through it, traveled to new places to see those friends, and even landed a dream job because of it. Although there were frustrating issues with it, Bungie constantly improved it through patches and expansions, introducing new raids and areas for quite a while, so the sequel had a lot to live up to. Destiny 2 improves on the first game in a number of ways. The story is more compelling, the characters are MUCH better written, and the different class abilities are even more empowering than the ones from the first game. There is a lot to love about Destiny 2, and although it can get a bit repetitive to play alone, if you can recruit a few friends (or make some new ones online) the game takes on a life of it's own. I played Destiny 2, like the first game, for well over 100 hours, and new content and updates are being released constantly. The game improves on the multiplayer suite from the original, and loot drops are consistent, meaning you can't get a crappy version of a good gun anymore. Overall, Destiny 2 is a really good game, and I recommend it for people looking for an MMO-like shooter on console.

Just like the first game, the story is like your watching a movie it's very interesting and keeps you involved. The games is nice. I like the openness of it to play online with friend or anyone on there...

Destiny 2 retains the first person shooter mechanics mixed with super powered fun of Destiny 1, while also providing a more engaging story mode that delves deeper into the world and its characters. Additional side missions and multiplayer (PvE and PvP) keep things interesting after completing the campaign. The ideas of Clans and making it more accessible for single players to do missions are definitely a step in the right direction. While I enjoyed Destiny 1, I felt the game was incomplete and the DLC should have been included in the final product. With Destiny 2, I am happy with the game as released and I am actually looking forward to in-game events, updates to the world, and DLC that will expand on future of world.

It's a great follow up with hours of fun. End game is a little more casual friendly than Destiny 1, and overall has more of a story.

The second run into the world of Destiny is so refreshing. It offers a solid story and refined controls. An hour into the game I knew that this was the Destiny that Bungie wanted us to see 3 years ago.

In my opinion Destiny 2 is one of the best shooters I've ever played. The story was consistently interesting with it's huge maps and cool power ups. The problem for me personally is that I don't play games online with anyone. This means that your forced to team up with random clans in order to do 2 of the best modes the game offers. I wouldn't recommend this game to people who like to play by themselves, but to those who have a group of friends to consistently play with I'd say it's a must buy.

As a year one Destiny player, I had huge expectations going into D2 and it has yet to disappoint. There have been wonderful improvements that make it feel like what Destiny 1 should have started off as. Whether you are a casual or competitive player, there are so many different things to do that you can go at your pace, making D2 very versatile. The graphics are gorgeous, the gameplay is smooth and fluid, and the game itself can easily be enjoyed for hours on end no matter if you play in a group or solo. There are a few nitpick's I have about the game, but they are minute compared to how much I love about it. All in all, Bungie has released a terrific and extremely entertaining masterpiece.

Destiny 2, a game I couldn't wait to play, really outdoes the original. Better graphics, better playability, and an excellent storyline make this a must buy. Very deep. One of my favorites of 2017.

If you played Destiny you will know what to expect. If not, this is a post-apocalyptic first person shooter. Your job is to shoot as many bad guys as you can and save the planet from the alien hordes. Pretty standard stuff. Its a rehash of the original Destiny, better graphics, but similar game play. Minor tweeks make the game work a bit better. You can play single-player offline or join squads online. I prefer single player, but both work reasonably well. Overall, a good game

It's a fun shooter. Makes for great moments with your friends. Strong action. But personally I find the story to be even worse than the first one. The forced humor in the dire situation falls flat. Get ready to be introduced to the Jar Jar Binks of Next Gen gaming aka Failsafe. The graphics are weak for todays standards. If you played the first Destiny get ready to just do the same stuff again but with some new skills and animations. Just play for the grind until you get bored.

The interface and graphics are a step up from the first Destiny. I enjoyed the first Destiny, it did get a little repetitive, even with the add-on DLCs. I looked forward to Destiny 2 and it so far has not been a disappointment. There is a little bit adjustment in what to do and what you are looking at, but I really like the character skill adjustments. And being able to jump into any fight and help out other players is kept. The map system is still clunky and figuring out what mission is available a little confusing at the start. I give Destiny 2, 2 thumbs up. I figure to binge play this on the weekends, whenever possible.
