I was a little skeptical when I saw that Destiny 2 was gonna be on PC since it was previously a console game only but it actually runs really well and even better now after a graphics driver update from Nvidia. The combat and everything is fluid and the story is decent but the quests can get repetitive since they can have the same mission types but different enemies and setting. I learn to accept this since there will be updates and expansions and also because this is a loot based game but I still want to mention it for those that don't care as much for repetitive grinding in loot games.

Destiny 2 starts with a very well constructed campaign and has really beautiful environments that the game likes to show off early on. The story is pretty straightforward but works well enough. The campaign is pretty short though. The multi-player is a fundamentally fun mode, especially when playing with friends, but suffers the same issue with a lack of depth and variety of objectives, which means you will probably get a good 20 hours of good gameplay out of this game, but it will gate stale and repetitive after that.

Good gun play, but gets a little stale quickly

Excellent engine, runs wonderfully. The guns feel good, but the gameplay does get stale after a while. Feels like the same handful of missions repeating over and over, and you max level out after 10-15 hours of gameplay, meaning you don't feel much progression pretty quickly. Worth a shot if you can get it on sale.

The storyline is great, but the game itself is only slightly different from the original Destiny. PvP is still 6v6 and you need to have friends that play for a group, aka fireteam, to do the hardest content to get the best gear. There is only a LFG option for the lesser content. Only buy if you loved the original Destiny. Other then that you'll get bored waiting to for weekly get quests and a weekend only merchant for better gear.

I never played the original Destiny. This game has great shooting, and is overall a fun game to play, but understand what you're getting into. The content kind of runs out quickly. You can beat the story line pretty quickly, then it turns into a grind for better gear. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, I thought the game was still fun, but with only 1 raid and a handful "dungeons", I wish there was more. The quests are fun, but they seem to just kind of repeat the same type of tasks over and over again.

Great shooting mechanics, a bit repetitive

Destiny 2 has some amazing graphics and shooting mechanics. And the PC port is one of the best ports I've ever played. The main story is fun, if a bit nonsensical (especially if you haven't played the first game). It has a lot of flash, but after beating the main story, there isn't much else to do with a lot of substance. There are a number of missions such as Strikes, Nightfalls, and the Raid (which I'ven't done), but the incentive to do these things isn't really there, outside of loot. I like Destiny, and it is a worthwhile buy, but it grew old faster than I thought it would. There just isn't enough enemy or quest variety to make it a truly great game.

Destiny 2 has the fluid movement/combat one would expect from a AAA game and decently impressive visuals. However, once the shock and awe of playing a new game are over and you have reached max level, there is not much to do. You have a plethora of side quests, treasue hunts, and public events to hold you for a time but these become repetitive. You end up falling into the rut of logging in once a week and completing the weekly quests. There is not much depth to the game and that becomes apparent fast. I enjoy games where you get gear and upgrade said gear/ get new gear. However, Destiny 2 misses the mark on quality content to sustatin a thriving player base and as stated in the review summary. Real old, real fast.

I am enjoying myself in Destiny 2. It has a lot of good things that in my opinion out weight the bad or annoying things you find in games now days. The PC interface is the same as consoles, so it is a little weird to navigate BUT you can use a controller in the game also and for PC it has both config options built in for mouse/keyboard and controllers and that is nice if you are into that, so it is a good compromise there. The gameplay is great and nothing has changed here when it comes to shooters and for me that is awesome. For PC, you can tell that some of the skins that were used in the game are not as high as other PC games, it does not surprise me since this is a multi platform title. The game still looks great and the things that need to look great look great. I just wish there was a way to download an HD pack for PC, but what are you going to do. The rest of the game. The story mission I enjoyed a lot as well as the side missions. The side missions compliment the main mission a lot and add hrs to the story mode if you are into that. A downside is that it is still too short for a story mode and it feels super short. The cut scenes are amazing and I enjoyed each one of them and for me that was a plus. Once you are done with the main story then the world opens for different types of missions that add a little bit of story but not much. You already had public quests and they are still available and seems to add endless dailies to the game. Around the map you will also find mini dungeons and patrol quests that reset every so often. But all this content is repeatable and it could get old fast for some people. The strikes and raids will also unlock at different parts thru the game. The strikes are fun for me and it is a fun activity you can do with your friends. I wish there were more now, but they will come as more DLCs get added to the game. The same with raids, to access them you need to have a certain gear level. Now, the DLC thing. I wish we would have more content to start off the game instead of waiting for a DLC we need to purchase. I am totally ok with expansions but I also like content but I understand that between PvE and PvP in the game, right now, there are multiple hours of content. But how many players engage in all of the available content or have interest in it before the next DLC ? I know I am not one of them but I do enjoy me some PvE and the end game content is pretty minimal and by December I will have to spend moar moneyz if I want to play the next available content... IT is good hours of fun! ... for a price. Just keep that in mind.
