Destiny 2 is a fun game overall for about 30-40 hours, but after that it becomes a repetitive grind with little end game. It does run beautifully on PC and is the definitive way to play.

I was a little skeptical when I saw that Destiny 2 was gonna be on PC since it was previously a console game only but it actually runs really well and even better now after a graphics driver update from Nvidia. The combat and everything is fluid and the story is decent but the quests can get repetitive since they can have the same mission types but different enemies and setting. I learn to accept this since there will be updates and expansions and also because this is a loot based game but I still want to mention it for those that don't care as much for repetitive grinding in loot games.

Destiny 2 starts with a very well constructed campaign and has really beautiful environments that the game likes to show off early on. The story is pretty straightforward but works well enough. The campaign is pretty short though. The multi-player is a fundamentally fun mode, especially when playing with friends, but suffers the same issue with a lack of depth and variety of objectives, which means you will probably get a good 20 hours of good gameplay out of this game, but it will gate stale and repetitive after that.

Good gun play, but gets a little stale quickly

Excellent engine, runs wonderfully. The guns feel good, but the gameplay does get stale after a while. Feels like the same handful of missions repeating over and over, and you max level out after 10-15 hours of gameplay, meaning you don't feel much progression pretty quickly. Worth a shot if you can get it on sale.

I never played the original Destiny. This game has great shooting, and is overall a fun game to play, but understand what you're getting into. The content kind of runs out quickly. You can beat the story line pretty quickly, then it turns into a grind for better gear. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, I thought the game was still fun, but with only 1 raid and a handful "dungeons", I wish there was more. The quests are fun, but they seem to just kind of repeat the same type of tasks over and over again.

Destiny 2 has some amazing graphics and shooting mechanics. And the PC port is one of the best ports I've ever played. The main story is fun, if a bit nonsensical (especially if you haven't played the first game). It has a lot of flash, but after beating the main story, there isn't much else to do with a lot of substance. There are a number of missions such as Strikes, Nightfalls, and the Raid (which I'ven't done), but the incentive to do these things isn't really there, outside of loot. I like Destiny, and it is a worthwhile buy, but it grew old faster than I thought it would. There just isn't enough enemy or quest variety to make it a truly great game.

Destiny 2 has the fluid movement/combat one would expect from a AAA game and decently impressive visuals. However, once the shock and awe of playing a new game are over and you have reached max level, there is not much to do. You have a plethora of side quests, treasue hunts, and public events to hold you for a time but these become repetitive. You end up falling into the rut of logging in once a week and completing the weekly quests. There is not much depth to the game and that becomes apparent fast. I enjoy games where you get gear and upgrade said gear/ get new gear. However, Destiny 2 misses the mark on quality content to sustatin a thriving player base and as stated in the review summary. Real old, real fast.

got the game, first thing I noticed all the enemy's are exactly the same as the first one. 1 new enemy, a dog. even the bigger stronger enemy's are the same just recycled not even new skins. 2nd thing I notice, all the environments are very similar, same colors and details. I am giving it 2 stars because it was fun for 8 hours, after that I noticed it got really repetitive and easy. Bungie really dropped the ball on this one, there is no insensitive to play. don't wast 60$ on this. id wait for it to drop to 20$, which will be very soon, the population is decreasing very rapidly. I wish I could get my money back and get something that I would use for a long time like a new mouse. my last purchase from bungie, fool me once, shame on me, fool me twice, I cant get fooled again.

The mechanics in this game are solid and while it's similar to the first Destiny it's new on PC and I much prefer it here. The leveling up process is relatively fast although there's only one path so multiple characters may become repetitive. It's also pretty easy. Not quite a cake walk but you won't find major challenges until the end. That said it's quite satisfying as you learn to play. I'm a major FPS player for several decades now, even some amateur competition, and I've still died a couple times leveling up and end game activities more so. At the end of the day though, it'sn't the gameplay that lost this game a star; content is where it's lacking. Now, this is a review of it's launch state and they already have content improvements planned. But as of writing this there'sn't a ton to do in the end game. If you're a super high level player type to power to max level and max out on gear you'll be done pretty quickly right now. The game is very broad but not very deep. Luckily, with such solid core mechanics and systems this should be solved relatively easily by Bungie. The game has still earned many hours of my gameplay time and I've had fun playing it so I'd still recommend it.
